How to reduce the screen resolution

Windows 98 how forcing standard 640 x 480 to 1024 x 768 resolution settings as the slide bar is grayed out, is there a way to force it to change. I tried to change the drivers of the settings, but it keeps asking for the disks that I have not, overwhelms the display on the screen and I need to lower the resolution.

Not a problem, John.

You find the problem with technology is older.  Once the operating systems have been abandoned (98, XP and soon Win 7), the component manufacturer no longer provides drivers for them.  The fact is, develop drivers is not an easy task.  They must not only be compatible with the components, but with the other drivers.

This is Win 7 Upgrade Advisor.  You can check if your computer supports Windows 7.  If this isn't the case, you do not simply to be able to adjust the resolution with Win 98.

But you can check the following:

Go to settings of display properties (right click on desktop > properties > settings). Click Advanced, and then select the monitor tab. * Uncheck * the box Hide modes that this monitor cannot display.

After this check again the screen to external monitor resolution.

  • Satellite A300-18 has: how to increase the screen resolution

I have recently buy a Toshiba Satellite A300-18 a, and I want to increase the resolution of the screen.
Currently the max resolution is 1280 x 800.

Does anyone know how to increase the resolution?
Where can I find the drivers to increase?

    Thank you

    Henrique

    Hello

I don t think a new graphics driver would allow a higher screen resolution on your laptop A300.
Have you checked your manual for more details?

I downloaded the user manual of the Europe of Toshiba page and discovered that the display is a 15.4 WXGA 16Mill colors with the following resolution: 1280 horizontal and 800 pixels vertical.

It seems that you are already using the highest available resolution and therefore you will not be able to wear to higher values.

  • How to set the screen resolution to fit monitor

    original title: monitor

I have a large screen, but it seems as if it was a waste of money because I don't get to use the middle of the screen. Can someone tell me please how to get full use out of my monitor? do I need some sort of version beta or something?

Your description is not very clear, are the main steps to configure your display:

-Make sure you have the latest drivers for your graphics card & monitor installed Windows 7 .

-Search in the manual of your monitor and find out what the native resolution & refresh rate are for example (1920 x 1080 @ 60 Hz), then go to:

    Start-> Control Panel-> display

and together that view you these settings.

-If you have black borders around your screen, you should increase the size of your screen through the software installed normally with your graphics card. For a basic card ATI look for a feature called overscan/underscan. Look for the option to increase the size of the desktop in the nVidia Control Panel for nVidia cards. For othe graphics cards check support manual/website for advice.

  • How to choose the screen resolution of 800 x 480 on Libretto 110CT

    Hello

I have a 110CT and the options available for the resolution of the screen in Win98 are 640 x 480 and 800 x 600. The screen is 800 x 480 and I wish I could use that as the smaller resolution res is too small and more requires to move the cursor to see the entire screen.

Is it possible to put the screen at 800 x 480 in Win98?

    Thank you
    Chris

The screen display resolution depends on the graphics driver.
If a graphics driver supports the resolution of your favorite, then you would be able to choose.
But if the driver doesn't take in charge, then unfortunately you will not be able to choose.

    Welcome them

  • How to set the screen resolution?

Original title: on screen display with the unused space on the sides

It is probably so basic, but my display is not full screen, even if I put it in full screen. There is an inch of space black unused screen on each side of the screen. What should I do?  Thanks in advance

    Hello

You're probably not using the correct resolution, IE: you use a display standard aspect ratio when you have a widescreen monitor. This can be corrected in the settings/personalize/display of the Control Panel, adjust the slider to resolution here.

  • Reduce the screen resolution/size

    Hello

I upgraded from XP to Windows 7.  During the upgrade, I'll sort my screen size 640 x 480. This makes everything on the huge screen.  You can see from the page at any time.  I tried to reset it, under the resolution of the screen, but it is grayed out.  The driver for the monitor is a generic Microsoft & I can't find the original for the monitor (gateway 19 ") driver.  Any ideas?

    Thank you

You need the Windows 7 driver for your video card, not for your
monitor. Go to the website of the manufacturer of the video to watch card
    for this.

Or, if you have a video on motherboard instead of a separate video card
get the web site of the manufacturer of your computer.
