BlackBerry Smartphones Newbie needs information to decide whether to use BBM

When using BBM surveys, each conversation will appear on your cell phone bill as it does when sending text messages, make calls, send e-mails, etc. ? Specifically, will the list project each phone contact BBM number, time of contact and the duration of conversation? I have five phones on my account, with the use of teenage text heavy on three lines. My cell phone bill can be hundreds of pages long already, so using surveys BBM will add to the madness? I already spent to paperless billing, but because there are so many pages, it can take a long time to go through each page online.

In a Word, how to use BBM will appear on the phone bill? I use AT & T.

Thanks for your help.

BBMessenger uses data.

It will not appear on your Bill as a line item. It is part of the BlackBerry unlimited data Plan.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Newbie needs help setting up email

    Hello world

I've been the proud owner of a "BOLD" for about 48 hours now. This is my first Blackberry, so please bear with me.

I need to set up my Yahoo email. I remember setting up front, but I deleted it as my allowance for the use of network (3 Australia) showed 2 MB roaming allowance, of which half was used in one day.

I think that the e-mail message has been implemented via a browser page, but I can't go back to this page. The e-mail setup wizard seems to be to the establishment through BES which I did not. Does anyone know the address of the page?

I also remember, when I chose the browser (not of Planet 3) I was taken in a BB page that showed several options of setting up various things. There were about 5 or 6 boxes grey listed above the other? Anyone also know the address of the page for this?

    Thanks for any help,

    Paul

You also see a personal Email Setup on the device icon? If not try going into the Options | Advanced options | The host routing table. In this screen press press the button menu and choose to register now. See if you receive a message from check delivered to your device. Subsequently, reset the unit by removing the battery for 30 seconds. See if you have this icon now after restarting the device. If you still don't you can try setting up the account again on your carrier's Web site BIS to add return e-mail accounts?

What options do you remember on this Web site? Try to go to mobile.blackberry.com on your browser and see if it's the page.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Newbie needs help [STORM 9500]

    Hi people.
I recently got a new BB Storm 9500 my plan of operator and now I'm learning how to customize him completely.
Right now I'm having two problems.
I can't update the software. I'm in the course of the new BlackBerry Desktop Software downloaded from the official website of BlacBerry but everytime I try I get the same message. An unexpected failure. It always happens when the software tries to access the ROM of the device.
I changed and re-changed almost all the options of Setup in the software but I can't find the solution.
    Someone had this problem?

Another problem I have is the financial problem.
Here at the Brazil data plan is quite expensive. Without Wi - Fi on the device, it is very difficult work with internet on the mobile phone.
So, find a trick to add to BlackBerry to access wi - fi networks?
Or have a way to connect to an internet connection PC hollow?

    Thanks for help.

Without more details, it will be difficult to determine what is happening with your upgrade, but if you follow the directions in this link below, which has the latest newest 9500 OS out, you should be good.

    http://www.BlackBerryForums.com/General-9500-series-discussion-storm/203092-latest-OS-9500-4-7-0-237...

These guidelines do not use Desktop Manager, you will see.

The 9500 has no WiFi, and even with WiFi, you would need your operator BlackBerry data plan to enable all the BlackBerry service has this push email RIM, browser, etc..

I would recommend Desktop Manager, version 5, without the Media Manager. Download Desktop Manager here:

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Newbie needs help with sims and pins!

    Hello world

Sorry if this has been asked before, I couldn't find it.  I got a flashlight last night on Orange and have a bit of trouble with it.  I received a message asking if I wanted to apply the device settings, so I pressed Yes and he wants a ' I should have been supplied with PIN code.  How can I get this PIN?  I think it is long 4-digit.

Also, I have another card Sim Orange I want to use at the moment.  The guy in the shop told me that I would be able to put this sim and use the phone as hormaux.  However, I have found that many applications (BBM, Facebook, etc.) will not work with my original SIM and it work with one that comes with the phone.  Is this good?  Or did sort the "device settings"?  I love my new phone.  Thanks in advance!

the PIN he probably refers to is the SIM card pin - normally the value by default 0000 or 1234, but this should be on the documents that you got with the SIM/phone.

May be preferable to Orange a phone as it you enter it incorrectly 3 times will lock you the phone.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Newbie - why BBM?

HI, I just got an andI Blackberry SMS usage, I was wondering why one would use BBM.  If someone could explain it to me it would be much appreciated.  Thank you.

The conversation is secure and runs only on the network of RIM directly to another user

You have more opt to send files (images, voice, music, etc.)

You can Conference more than a friend in a cat

You can create group Chats to share images, a calendar, etc.

Of course there are moments and friends that you will need to use SMS.

  • Help decide whether to use vector/bitmap when you use createjs to export to html5

I am using the createjs exporter to create one, click on html5 and explore the application. I am trying to get information on whether to use bitmap or vector for my components I see General information that bitmap create vector and additional memory is CPU intensive (especially on mobile), but I would like to have a deeper understanding so I can make better decisions.  I also see support in the shade and maybe some layer of mixture - and I'm curious to know how performance and impacts.  This project will essentially be a background image with different sprites animating several frames on the screen. Are there cases where I should use for my background image vector - or is this a death sentence for mobile devices? Are there any circumstances where his prefeable to use the vector in my animations?  What is worse on mobile performance - a vector full screen background or a sprite small vector storyboarding?

I am ready to start this project (which is intended to display in PC and mobile as html5), but I'm trying to decide if its wise to make all of this vector, or just convert everything to bitmap.

Did someone either give me advice or have existing discussions or documentation you can refer me to?

    Thank you.

the only way to know if the addition of a function (as shadow) will ruin your app is to try it.

There is probably no instance where a background image of vector occur so a bitmap image.  but, the bitmap memory requirements must not exceed available memory, and to call something an image background means, the background image is always in the background and its representation in the form of bitmap does not change frequently.

because it's so much easier to use with flash vectors, you would usually create an app for the most part vectorized (using the cacheAsBitmap and cacheAsBitmapMatrix everywhere, it is useful, but being aware of the limited memory, you can use) and test performance frequently during development.  If the performance is sufficient, you're good.

If performance is unacceptable, you will need to check you're exceeds the available memory and the loss of cacheAsBitmap, and if you put much strain of the processor using manipulation of vector.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Hotmail w/BIS is not sync when using Windows Live Messenger

    Hello

I've got BES both BIS working in my BlackBerry. BES has the email that I use at work. BIS has configured my Hotmail account. Both work fine, but when I tried to use Windows Live Messenger in my BlackBerry I realized that the emails of Hotmail stopped coming.

So far, that's what I got:

If I connect to Windows Live Messenger from my BlackBerry, from a Windows computer, or within Hotmail (inside the web browser) I no longer receive mail. Everything I do from my BlackBerry still affects my Hotmail account (mark an e-mail as read, delete or sending an e-mail using my Hotmail account).

When I sign out of Windows Live Messenger and you receive another email, all delays and the new email come to my BlackBerry and guard mail very well until I connect to Windows Live Messenger again. I do not receive the emails delayed until I get a new once the connection from Windows Live Messenger.

Already tried battery pull, remove and re-add the account of Hotmail in BIS and uninstall and reinstallation of Windows Live Messenger.

Please, I know already all the love that some people have on other services of e-mail webmail (Gmail, Yahoo, etc.), which helps not at all.

I searched the web and I have nothing, I hope someone can help me.

    Thanks in advance.

  • 2 blackBerry Smartphones newbie questions: do I need it, and how I spoil my phone?

    Sorry for the newbie questions:

My IT has already set up my phone to receive email from their Blackberry Enterprise Server.

    (1) do I still need to install the desktop software?  Given that I can transfer files via Bluetooth from my laptop and my contacts/calendar/notes are stored on the Exchange Server, is there any point?

    (2) if I do not need to install it, given that my email is already working with BES, and the Office installation configures email settings, how do I keep the new Desktop install to mess up the current configuration of e-mail?

Of all the notes of support on the software, looks like more trouble whereas at this stage.  I really need to treat it?

    Thank you.

There is not much need of DTM, but it is convenient to update the OS of your BB. Sometimes there will be releases of minor bugs corrections and such to your BB - DTM will be meaningless and install them, while updating wireless could not detect them. For a major OS update, you want DTM, as it will do a backup/complete restoration of your BB, including configuration settings, and others so that you don't have to redo those. But, to your e-mail, calendar, contacts, etc. - you are right, it is useless given that your Exchange Server is actually your master with your BB being actually a backup of that (in a sense).

In addition, USB drivers (which are part of the package DTM) are necessary in order to charge your BB via your laptop USB. You can download and install all the USB drivers if this is the only part of the DTM you want.

When you install it, it will ask if you are in a company - say Yes and it will install properly. Installation when your PC is connected to your corporate network and your Outlook is open. Who will get the best and fastest configuration. When you install, do not let it select the functions of auto-launch... If you wish, attach your BB and manually run the DTM.

Of all the notes of support on the software, looks like more trouble whereas at this stage.  I really need to treat it?

Basically, on the whole, I vote 'YES'. You get the USB charging. You can save if you wish. You get the device OS and other updates. Most of the reported problems are people using it to synchronize via USB things - you won't do that because most of your stuff will be syncing via BES OTA. Other things, you can simply drag-and - drop (music, videos, etc.). .. .follow these instructions (use the latest 5.0 DTM):

    DL the latest version here:
