BlackBerry smartphones no contact book

Hello.  everyone I know has an icon representing a book on their bb contacts but I don't have on my own how do I find and how do I put on my screen. Cheers.

Hello and welcome to the community!

I am sure that the Contacts app is core and cannot in fact be deleted. Therefore, it is very likely that your icon has been moved somewhere or is hidden. Look everywhere and have "Show all" active while you watch.

Good luck!

    Hi all

I have the BB 8520 curve. Last week I bought 'Add Contact Pro' on Blackberry app World. After purchase and during the download I received an error and stopped the whole process. The app didn't download. I sent mail to the developer app three times but no response.

Can someone help me on how to download again (I did purchase)?

Hello and welcome to the community!

I suggest that you clear the cache of the AppWorld application.

    For legacy devices (pre-BB10):

    1. open the App World

    2. go to my world

    3. follow one (and only one!) of these steps:

    3. for the BB keyboard-oriented - hold down the ALT key and press on, in the sequence R, then S, then T

3B. for touch screen only BBs - hold the num-lock (! 123 button) so that it hangs and then press on, in the sequence 3, then 4, then)

    3 c for the most recent (e, g., OS6 and 7) BB s, see this KB:

    • KB24714 How to clear the cache of BlackBerry App World

    4 AppWorld must close.

    5. If your BB locks after issuing clear cache, do a battery pull reboot

    6. return to AppWorld/MyWorld (it can be slow, while it re - sync). .

If (4) stage arrives not as described, then the empty the cache failed.

    For BB10 devices:

Hi and welcome to the forums!

Usually the seller (Vodaphone in this case) switch them when you buy the unit. I Sue this option first.

If you use the same SIM which was in the Nokia try the following:

Import contacts from the SIM card to your contact list

If this does not work you can try using the Switch Device Wizard in the Desktop Manager software:

    Hello!

If it is compatible, provided by RIM device switch Wizard will accomplish the task. You can read about it here:

    • KB05421 What is switch device Wizard
    • KB05459 How to use the switch device Wizard to switch to another smartphone to a BlackBerry smartphone

If this isn't the case, then you must use whatever your other device provides and export the data to a CSV file. Then, you can use the RIM software to import in the BB:

  • Database of blackBerry Smartphones the address book not available for synchronization

... "For help to resolve this problem, refer to KB19454 in the Knowledge Base of Blackberry Desktop Manager".

I did, and it says this:

Cause 1: the BlackBerry smartphone does not contain the PIM application you are trying to synchronize with. For example, the screenshot above error has occurred as a result of the application of tasks is not installed on the BlackBerry smartphone.

Then, of course the BlackBerry has the address book app installed, and if it wasn't the cause.  I followed some of the sons of other related expenses and came up with nothing.

I synced before - first time that successfully, this worked great, the second time that he kept failing, so I changed the setting to REPLACE my address book on the BlackBerry each sync, who has worked several times, and now this.

    GRRRR... of ideas?

Worked like a champ, with the only exception to the process.  When I looked at my address book to the end, he had more than one entry for each record.  So I went back to the process, but this time, before you reconnect and resynchronize, I deleted manually additional entries - for some reason, they were still there, even though I "erased" address book information!  I'm guessing that these entries were originally a part of the problem.  Anyway, once deleted I've reconnected, resynced ' by replacing ' content of the BB for the address book - and now I have great 2-way synchronization job. Hi and welcome to the Forums!

RIM provides a device switch Wizard to migrate from another SmartPhone to a BB... but only for compatible devices. See this KB:

    • KB05459 How to use the switch device Wizard to switch to another smartphone to a BlackBerry smartphone

If your old phone is not compatible with the wizard, then RIM more offers the possibility to import ASCII and CSV files. See this KB:

    • KB04312 Create and synchronize with an ASCII export file
KB11194 How to import contacts from a CSV file to the BlackBerry
    • Sorry, but RIM does no research on how to get your data from your old device and in ASCII format or CSV... it is a function of your old device.

In addition, you could (I think should) use a desktop PIM for your data (and you should, IMO). You must choose a compatible PIM of this KB. Then download your data from your old device and the PIM Office. Next, configure the BB to sync with the PIM:

  • BlackBerry & Smartphones Photos Contact names ceased to show (9650)

    Hello:

Earlier, I added photos contact to all my BBerry Contacts.  It worked perfectly for quite a while.

But the last 2 weeks (or more), when I get a call I get no resources and no contact photo.  Just the number, which, if I don't recognize, I'm going to ignore.

(The reason why I have the names and photos is so I don't have to memorize numbers.  )

The contact photos are always in my contacts list, so nothing happened to them.  And ss as much as I know I haven't added new applications.  So I'm puzzled as to why they would suddenly stop showing when I get a call.

Anyone know how I can make them work properly?

I covered this Council and google for an answer and not found anything.  Thank you very much in advance...

    Hello

I would recommend to check if you have encryption enabled on the BlackBerry smartphone or press card. Go to the Options-Security Options. If it is enabled, disable it and try again then take out the battery.

    Thank you

Hello and welcome to the community!

Indeed, these IPD files are backups of your BB and are available as a source of food (they are a proprietary format and cannot be used for any other purpose, except by a few 3rd party applications that have been written to analyse). Choose the most recent one (the one with the most recent date and time, as displayed in the File Manager Windows) using this procedure:

  • BlackBerry Smartphones device address book phone contacts not showing on incoming calls on new 8900

    Hello

I just got a 8900 last week which has the latest version of the software on it (V.6.1.114). I transferred some of my old numbers to my SIM card from my camera, but not all - I also entered another 100 or manually directly on the device (long story).

Now, when I get a call from a number on the SIM card, the call will display the name of the person. However, when I receive a call from a number not in the sim card but is stored memory of the native device, the call does not display the name of the person - instead, it displays the number as if it were an unknown number. However, once the call is completed, call logs show the name of the person.

Thus, the BBERRY is not the number in the device address book when calls are coming in - it refers only to the SIM card. How can I fix it so that the contacts on the memory of the device also upward when the phone rings? Everyone knows about this problem?

I called Tmobile tech support in the United States and they couldn't help me except to say that it was a bug and suggest to put my name on the map or by doing a hard reset...

    Thank you
    Beverly

I found the answer in this old thread, but a configuration options default content SECURITY. Once I put no address names started showing up!

  • How to retrieve BlackBerry Smartphones BBM contacts

Just abandoned my flipphone for an unlocked BB Bold 9900... In an attempt to pass into the modern ear, I saved a BB Contact on the SIM (just to see if I can do it...) Now, my BB shows a SIM contact, and I can't go back to the BB Contacts. Saw no commentary on the manual. Can you tell me where to go to return the function Contacts BB?  Thank you.

I'm sorry. I had your son marked for more later. I must have been on the move. In addition, I didn't a quick response because I don't understand exactly what you were asking.

I glad you solved the problem, but I am still confused and I would understand.

Thus, the SIM card can store names and phone numbers. Was the problem that the BlackBerry address book showed only the address book SIM and you couldn't switch back to BlackBerry address book?

If this is the case, there is an easier way. I don't have it now, but it probably does not matter.

My advice is to use the BlackBerry address book. You can store details, and now devices need not store contacts on the SIM card. If you don't need to understand how to move back without having to remove the SIM card and reinsert and you don't see how to do it, post back and I will help to understand.
