Yes. You can use the Blackberry Backup Extractor tool to check if you have existing local backups on your computer. It can extract data such as SMS, emails, calendars, contacts, notes, etc. from backup, you can import according to your new BB. I hope this helps.

  • Old Smartphones phone blackBerry but new problem

My life of 9930 started connected to Verizon. I paid Verizon, legally unlocked the phone and moved to the Philippines, where I installed a Globe Telecom "Prepaid" SIM. So far so good.

Updated phone number the phone and was able to connect to the Internet of BB network.

I then opted for a Globe Telecom "Postpaid" SIM if the service has worked, and although I've updated the number the SIM under the Options/device/SIM and personal information to "Setup" menu, the number has continued to be the old Globe prepaid number. It annoyed me, but as I was able to access the network of BB, and all functions of Globe Telecom has worked, I thought, I would ignore it.

    I am running version 7.1 bundle 2879.

But now I spent suppliers. I'm on "Smart phone." I did all the things that I have tried before and I even made a security wipe. But told number from the previous provider of he persists! How can I get rid of him?

OK, I found the answer here! It's weird because I use GSM not CDMA... but here's the solution, except that I needed to change the lines of two albums as they both had the wrong number in them:

You use the 9930 on Tmobile? It should work.

    • Press digit key and enter # 000000 by pressing the digit key later.
    • You will pass the screen change the CDMA Service.
    • Modify or change the number on the top line.
    • And save.

    Don't change anything else.

  • Puzzle PIN of Smartphones blackBerry - stolen - phone old new phone still can access BBM contacts with old pine

I got my Curve 9300 stolen last Sunday and immediately called my service provider to block the sim card and blacklist the phone.

Now I have a new 9360 I used to restore contacts, etc. of the BB Desktop Software. I'm confused that I can still chat with my BBM contacts without changing the pin to the new code.

Is it correct that I thought that the PIN was ONLY linked to the old phone?

    Any help much appreciated.

If you have restored a backup of your phone, it have restored to backup your BBM contacts. As part of the restore lists the process it would update your contacts with your new PIN.

Well Yes... you need to continue working with your mobile service provider. Something between your device and its network does not work, and only they can watch "behind the scenes" to see what it might be.

    Good luck!

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

What you need to do is to find, on your PC, the IPD file created when you backed up. Search your entire hard drive *. IPD. Then use this file as the source of a restoration of your new BB (choose ONE of these KB, depending on the version of the RIM Desktop software you have already installed on your PC):

    • KB23680 How to back up and restore data from BlackBerry using BlackBerry Desktop Software 6.0 smartphone
    • KB10339 How to use BlackBerry Desktop Manager 4.3 to 5.0.1 to restore data from a BlackBerry smartphone from a backup file

  • BlackBerry smartphones remove old Inbox folder

Hi all. How can I delete the old folder Inbox an e-mail account that I deleted from my phone?

Well yes - I think we have all seen those. They are indeed latent. Here's a knockout who treats a form of them:

    • KB18940 Duplicate subfolders are displayed when you select view folders within the Messages icon on the BlackBerry smartphone

In most cases, they are simply there. Reloading the operating system and then return the directories of current service reported sometimes to get rid of them. In most cases, they are just to be ignored.

    Good luck!

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

A few things to discuss... so bear with me...

    (1) contrary to others how things, RIM does not provide desktop PIM. Others force you to use their PIM and only their PIM. RIM provides a driving software that works as a bridge between your PIM and the BB. See this compatible PIM KB:

    • KB12268 Applications supported by BlackBerry Desktop Manager to synchronize

    (2) RIM provides a device switch Wizard to migrate from another SmartPhone to a BB... but only for compatible devices. See this KB:

    • KB05459 How to use the switch device Wizard to switch to another smartphone to a BlackBerry smartphone

    (3) If your old phone is not compatible with the wizard, then RIM more offers the possibility to import ASCII and CSV files. See this KB:

    • KB04312 Create and synchronize with an ASCII export file
KB11194 How to import contacts from a CSV file to the BlackBerry
    • Sorry, but RIM does no research on how to get your data from your old device and in ASCII format or CSV... it is a function of your old device.

So your choice is, IMO, to continue to use a desktop PIM for your data (and you should, IMO)... then choose a compatible PIM (from above). Then download your data from your old device and the PIM Office. Next, configure the BB to sync with the PIM:

  • BlackBerry Smartphones phone freezes

    Hello

I installed the Blackberry World accuweather app on my torch 9800 the latest version of the OS 6. After the reboot, when I tried to open the my phone application restarted. I went to uninstall in the world of blackberry and the phone froze. So I just thought that I hide the application and do not use it. However, not even run the my phone application crashes after 2 minutes. The only resolution is a battery pull, which buys me then for 2 minutes. I tried to use blackberry desktop to solve the problem but the phone freeze as soon as it connects to the blackberry desktop.

When I say phone freeze, I would say. I get the spinning clock symbol and that's all. It ran for 25 minutes before the last drawing of battery. Help! any suggestions would be helpful.

    Thank you
    Chris

Hello and welcome to the community!

I recommend that you try to start safe mode:

    • KB17877 How to start a smartphone BlackBerry in Mode safe

It will take several attempts to get the combination of keys ESC (press/release/hold) OK, so be patient. When properly in Safe Mode, see what happens.

If the behavior ceases, then try to delete the application in Mode safe.

But if the behavior continues mode without failure, you may need to consider more drastic measures - WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload and the process of reloading OS 'skeleton '. To prepare, you should be sure that you have a full backup of your PC... Please see the Backup link in my sig auto on this post for instructions.

Good luck and let us know!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones phone won't boot to the top

I downloaded a few applications to Blackberry World on my night of phone. One was booster. When I tried to open it I got an error message saying something about Java, and after failed attempts to open it, I deleted it. The other was AP Reader. I just tried to open it for the first time this morning. When I clicked on it, the phone started to reboot. He took an unusually long time to restart, then I put down and came back some time later. When I picked up, he seemed to be in the off position. I tried to turn it back on but nothing happened. So I took the battery out and put back. The fire came, stayed on a minute or two, but instead of booting, the phone is off again. I tried to remove the SIM card as well as the battery and then replace both, but he got the same results. I can't even reset the phone to default settings because I can't seem to start. Help! What can I do?

Sometimes you gotta try some variations... If you have tried only twice, you did not probably not enough variations. I remember a device where I had to wait for the touchscreen to become active, hold down the ESCAPE key for about 50% of the loading bar, release, then press and hold again close to 80% to 90%. A strange sequence, but it worked for me.

If you don't want to keep trying, your only recourse will be more drastic... I hope you have a good backup, as it is unlikely that you will be able to get one now.

You can also study the use of BBSAK (bbsak.org) to perform the wipe what he is capable.

Good luck and let us know!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones phone continues to go off and not answering the calls.

My Blackberry is about 4 months old and has not been the best phone I have ever had, but does the job or did until this morning and for some reason any when I left the handset of the phone turns off. I am unable to answer the phone when it rings if I left the handset? The torch screen only works, but not as it should be very slow. Does anyone have an idea? Please, I beg you!

It's a good solution, but I would say a battery pull prior to an update of the OS.  With your phone, remove the battery, then replace.

Let us know if that helps you.
