BlackBerry Smartphones Re: How to reload your operating system

Hi people.  I do not have my password entry and the unit was wiped out.

How can I get hold of the o/s to reinstall?

Two methods given in this thread has not worked for my situation.  New loader said I was aware, but then went on to say that the older Blackberries are not supported.  I have a 7200 series.

Thank you.

So, your carrier has no file device OS for you? They must, I think, find their site DL here:

http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp

You can also try to contact your carrier to see if they can provide you with a. The OS is controlled by the carrier... RIM launches the carriers, they certify (or not) and release (or not) to their customers. The above site is the portal to the carriers DL sites.

In case it wasn't clear (my apologies if it is redundant), what made the device OS DL is to install on your PC, essentially on the RIM desktop software, files, and things that relate to your device from your carrier (which may be different from your device to another carrier). Then, when you tie, you can get updates that relate specifically to you rather than a series of 7000 generic BB of any carrier. With him, installed on your PC (at the top of the RIM DTM software), it is available to the process discussed in the KB to reload your operating system.

So see if none of this is useful... it will be very sad if a workaholic as your 7000 must be consigned to the dustbin. Sad indeed... even if she has had a good run, there no?

See you soon!

Hello and welcome to the community!

From a PC, you can install any compatible OS package (for example, for your exact model of BB number) to a BB via this procedure:

Note Although written to "recharge" and the storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade or recharge any BB device model - depends on the operating system package you download and install on your PC. You can even use a different OS package carriers simply insert, between steps 1 and 2, the deletion, on your PC, a file named PROVIDER. XML. remember that you remove from your PC, no matter what other packages devices OS BB as having more than one installed on the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.

If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

  • BlackBerry Smartphones out how Blackberry dilated 5.1.0.112?

I have the Blackberry 9700 of ATT, but I am currently using here in my hometown of Panama City, Panama. I tried to plug it into the laptop via the USB cable. I then downloaded the Blackberry Desktop Manager icon for my laptopt and I also wanted to download the Roxio Manager that allows me to transfer files from my laptop to my Blackberry. All of a sudden, I have now a rebounding (or at least for me that I know not how to leave) screen on my Blackberry that has like 25 registered top-down applications, whenever I click on them, they won't let me not move and redirects me to the screen of 25 applications. It shows an error of the rim or something totally weird. The message that appears when I try to press an app doesn't let me move forward. Whenever I hit the menu botton next to call one, it says ¨close¨ and I hit the close button, but it of useless because nothing is done.

I need my phone to be back to normality. I work in a Bank and I really need for customers, etc.

    Ok.

Reload the operating system on the device.

See the link below for download and simple installation instructions.

    http://www.BlackBerryForums.com/General-9700-series-discussion-bold-2/228579-latest-OS-9700-5-0-1254...

Make a backup of your device first, using Desktop Manager > backup. Close the office at the end Manager.

    1. download the OS files to the PC then install on the PC by running (double click) the downloaded file.
    2. go in c:\program files Research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
    3. plug in the BB and double-click on "Loader.exe." It is located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

I have a MacPro1.1 which works fine, but now I can't use LightroomCC on that because the OS is no longer supported. Can someone tell me how to upgrade the operating system on the MacPro?

Your Mac Pro 2006 supports only as high as Lion unless you use a hack.

If you want Lion then order a code to download here:

    http://store.Apple.com/us/product/D6106Z/A/OS-x-lion

and then use the code in the Mac App Store.

If you need higher that the Lion then Google for the hack

Assuming that you previously purchased on the app store and your Mac meets the minimum requirements, unload you enough data on an external drive to free the necessary disk space and update via the app store. If you buy before it and it is not in your shopping list, you do not have.

  • Problem AnyDVD update 'AnyDVD does not work on your operating system'

For many years, I used a system called 'AnyDVD '. Today I received a memo to update to the latest version I've done dozens of times in the past.
This time, however, I have download the new item and click on "run" the file, I get a pop-up window indicating. "AnyDVD does not work on your operating system. .....
I'm no computer expert so I don't have any idea what to do... I tried a system restore to a few days, but that did not help.
In the meantime, the previous version of AnyDVD still works as always. How can the old system works but now an update does not work on my operating system. That makes no sense.

Thanks for the comments... But does not apply to this problem. AnyDVD has free updates. Problem was somewhere in the system and can be corrected within 24 hours and was able to update with no further incident. Still a mystery, but is no longer a problem.

How to install two operating systems on a single computer, xp and windows 7... ?

    Hello

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.
For the installation of two Windows OS (called Dual Boot), you first determine what exactly the BONES. Based on this, you can proceed to install the oldest operating system first, then installing the latest OS. Here, in your case, Windows XP first and then Windows 7.
If you change the order, the latest version of Windows will not work correctly.
In addition, you can use Virtual PC or VMware to use Windows XP in Windows 7. Windows XP Mode is another version of Microsoft which allows you to use Windows XP in Windows 7 through Virtual PC. You can download Windows XP Mode from here:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/Virtual-PC/Download.aspx
To install Windows XP Mode, you must have Windows 7 Professional or higher, with hardware virtualization enabled in your PC (you should check in the BIOS of your PC). If you prefer Windows XP Mode, you don't have to install Windows XP in the above mentioned way. It installs like any other program on Windows 7.
Note that if you have Windows 7 Edition Home Premium or lower edition, you can try Windows XP using Virtual PC/VMware or dual-boot.

    Hello Mohan,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community Forum.

I can of course understand the situation and will be happy to help with your query.

    Let me ask you;

    • You have the key product for Windows 8 or 8.1?

You can create an installation media (DVD/USB) for Windows 8.1 and re-install when you want. However, in order to create an installation media for Windows 8.1, you need the product key. If you don't have the product key for Windows 8.1, you can not create installation media.

You can create the installation media for Windows 8 by using the product key Windows 8 If you have. In this case, install you Windows 8 first and then go to Windows 8.1 through store.

As far as your paid apps (purchased by store) are concerned, you should be able to install them as soon as you sign in with the same Microsoft Account where apps were purchased.

You can see the steps indicated by Ronnie Vernon replied on 24 December2013, re - install paid apps.

You can follow the steps below to create installation media.

    1. Run the program Windows 8.1 configuration or installation of Windows 8 (depending on the availability of the product key for the specific operating system.
    2. When you are prompted to run or save the file, choose run

    3. When you are prompted to enter a product key, enter the 25-character product key, that you received when you purchased Windows 8.1 (or Windows 8).

    4. When you are prompted to install Windows 8.1 (or Windows 8), select install by creating media and then click Next.

    5. Select the type of media you want to use: either a Flash DRIVE or a DVD.

To create a USB flash drive

    1. Click on the USB flash drive.

    2. Plug the USB key into a USB port on your PC.

    3. When you are prompted, select the USB key that you want to use, and then click Next.

If you have files on the USB flash drive, it will remove them.

    To create a DVD

    1. Click on the ISO file , and then select the location where to save the ISO file.

    2. Insert a blank recordable DVD into your DVD drive.

    3. Burn the ISO of the DVD file using Windows disc Image burner, or another program DVD burning.

Note: Ensure that the USB or DVD key that you use has nothing else stored on it and has a sufficient free space to download the Windows 8.1 Installer: about 2.3 GB for the 64-bit version.

You can also read the article below to create a USB stick recovery.

Hope this information is useful. Please feel free to answer in the case where you are facing in the future other problems with Windows.

    Thank you.
