BlackBerry Smartphones RIING TONE

How to make a special caller to hear a ringtone? my phone is a blackberry curve #8530 mod.

Are you referring to what a person calling you hear on their end? If so, that is called a tone and is something that is controlled by your carrier. You can't do anything with that on your device.

Re, I had checked my alarm option. The alarm type has been updated with the tone, the sound of the alarm has been set to one of my songs and the volume is high. So why not ring? Any of you have this problem? and how to solve?

And oh I forgot to mention... I had turned off my "BOLD" and turned on again. And surprisingly, it worked. So, I was happy and set the alarm for the next day morning. And to my great disappointment, it didn't ring once again. If the is... everytime of the bottom line, I have to make a deal to get the tone.

Yes, I tried all those and still does not work.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Ring Tone download

Just recently purchased a BB.  At the same time paid / downloaded ringtone.  Received a confirmation email saying to go to the menu then my stuff... Did not have my stuff and could not find the song anywhere on the phone.  Then where is it or where shall I seek. Is not in one of the media files either.

The location of your ringtones will depend on your service provider.  Give them a call and see where they are supposed to be.  In general the ringtones are located in media > ringtones or something like it... but, once again, that depends on your provider.  Because they are not here, your provider should be able to return them or help you re-download the original ringtone has been sent to your provider.  If it is a 3rd party provider, then you need to talk to them to see any reference or re-download.

    Hope that helps!

    Tim

  • BlackBerry Smartphones turn off all tones of button on the Blackberry Curve 8330

Is there a way to disable all button on the Blackberry Curve 8330 tones so that when you dial numbers you do not hear a noise?  The only thing I see is to transform the key tone on what makes all the keys make a noise.  I want to be able to dial a call without hearing the key tones.  Is it possible to do it on this phone?  Thank you.

Hello jhnstn33. In the most recent device software if your profile is silent, silent, or vibrate then you won't get the tones when you dial a number. I don't know if this has changed in 4.5 or 4.6. What software version are you running? You can find under Options | Everything.

I rebooted my phone from TONS of time... is there a way to reset the phone?

It comes from occurring as you face constraints of memory in your device. The low memory manager (LMM) is activated automatically when the flash available on the BlackBerry smartphone memory decreases less than 400 KB. Flash memory is used to store such as Messages, calendar, Contacts, tasks, Notepad BlackBerry smartphone applications and third-party applications.

    Perform the following steps-

    1. Give a soft reset by removing the battery for 30 sec.
    2. Check the amount of memory is free in your device to Options -> status -> free memory. To view all aspects of database go to Option -> status -> click on the Menu button and then select the database size
    3. Remove the less frequently used application. To remove go to Options -> Advanced Options -> Applications -> highlight the application you want to delete-> click Menu , and then select Remove
    4. If you stored your image in the memory of the device to move them to your media card

  • Problems with my Blackberry Storm blackBerry Smartphones

I just bought a new Blackberry Storm Verizon about a week and a half. I really wanted to get one when they came out first, but a lot of apps from third party that I used all the time on my Motorola Q were not available for the storm. After waiting this long I decided to go there and get one anyway and test it. Much, I love the storm and the concept, Blackberry (storm) and very in deca. I used a Motorola Q for the last 3 years and could do almost everything I needed with it. Why make things too hard and try to be an island intrinsically Blackberry?

Problems I see with Blackberry and storm:

1 JAVAScript does not work correctly. I have installation of webcams in my office and at home that runs Javascript and they work perfectly on my Q using the browser Opera Mobile, Skyfire and IE. On my Storm, I tried to search for it a Blackberry, all three modes of emulation, BB, IE and FireFox and none it will display. (Note: I also tried the bolt and Opera Mini, the cushion of numbers does not work in Opera Mini, he types lower case letters).

    2. software remote access connection is another nightmare. I could use on my Q software VNC FREE remote access to my office or home computers. For the storm, the ONLY option I can find is simply a paid for the program.

    3. the third-party apps. There are very, very small number of third-party for the Blackberry Storm applications (and seems to be the Blackberry in general). Is Blackberry so hung up on themselves that they will not be open and allow the sellers to fill the big gaps they left with their product (s).

    4. I can't access to my college email address located on Microsoft Outlook Live via a web browser or email on the BB.

Here are some of the problems that I have seem to have with the BB. Too bad I don't like Windows, I have to say it works and third party apps are lacking and simply do not work. Apart from all this, I'm really doing my job as a storm for me, because I love the technology involved with him.

A gleemer of hope, thanks goodness PDANet has finally released a beta for the storm. He was the biggest reason that I would not get a storm originally was to be able to connect my laptop to my smartphone.

It seems fitting that BB is trying to keep their technology wrapped so that no one else can fill in the gaps that they leave, because if it was easy to do, then there will be tons of other apps out there that would work.

darkcyber, sorry, but it seems that your post was missing in the middle of all the others.  If you go through the other posts, you will actually see that there is a lot of help here and there clearly are a ton of people who use it.

    1. now then, remember that BlackBerry phones are not the same as the Motorola Q (which was running on Windows Mobile, if I remember correctly).  JavaScript works, but you must make sure his tour on and you may need to change some settings other.  I can't remember where I saw it, but someone has posted a message on the use of their Storm for the display of the webcams.  They said something about having to adjust the parameters of port and udp (sorry, I have not myself this configuration and therefore do not know exactly how do).  Use the search option and you might be able to find the post.

    2. Secondly, it is once again a difference between BlackBerry and Windows Mobile software or Palm OS.  Be happy that you have found a program paying to use.

    3. This can be your impression, but believe me, there are apparently struck for BlackBerry - in thousands tons.  Try to check the new BlackBerry App World and for other programs, check BPlay, MobiHand, Handango, and various other app stores.

    4. do you have a BIS account set up?  You must configure a BIS account and set up your College email there.

I hope that some of these things will answer your questions, or at least points you in the right direction.  In the future, try to use a more descriptive than 'Problems with my Blackberry Storm' title because that will probably draw more people.  And if you get no response, it means one of two things happened - your message is simply missed, or nobody has an answer to your question.  If so, feel free to go back.  Do not react with the message you left as what makes no one want to answer at all (I did because I'm nice and felt bad that the original message had not been addressed, but I know others here who could see this answer and simply walk because of this response).

  • Security and confidentiality of other blackBerry Smartphones

    Hello world

I've had my blackberry 8900 almost a year now but there is something that really bugs me.

How is it that an early model Samung which can hardly navigate correctly on the web have privacy settings so that the widely acclaimed blackberry "smartphone" can't?

It really becomes a problem with other BB users I know as well. With the advance of technology and the RIM essentially put all your information in the Palm of your hand, they should be more concerned about the privacy of users.

Now my emails come directly to my phone for example, when I used hotmail via my computer, a password is required, however, now that they come directly to BB anyone can view, read or delete my messages.

I have children as well and they love the games that I downloaded on my phone (pacman in particular), but sometimes they leave games and do not know the phone settings to get back in sometimes obviously my applications are removed...

I searched all forums on the internet of course that I can lock my keypad so outgoing calls and I can block my SD card so no one can access my photos or music, but it is also far's life private...

If there is no solutions should it be posted in the appropriate forum if someone can send it on BOARD at least because I searched but could not find an appropriate forum like this hit all BB users.

    Thank you

Hi there - indeed, RIM took the approach all or nothing to the safety of the appliance. But look at it this way... There are a ton of personal information on the device, across multiple applications (e-mail, calendar, contacts, memos, etc.)... .creating an app-by-app element or data security configuration for data element would exponentially increase the potential points of penetration (as well as the processing on the device overhead). RIM has elected that they accompany the bulletproof (and low overhead) method instead.

    See you soon!
