BlackBerry Smartphones selective backup recovery?

No idea how it is possible to recover, after a firmware update, since the last backup just mails and the settings of the tone of my "BOLD"?

Thank you!

I just amazed, RIM does not provide support for selective restore. Selective backup is available. And when a user selects 'restore' it writes all data of the ipd in the unit.

There is a solution. And you can do a selective restore.

Download Blackberry Device simulators 4.6.0

You can get it here

https://www.BlackBerry.com/downloads/entry.do?code=060AD92489947D410D897474079C1477

Unplug the computer from your blackberry desktop.

Install the downloaded package Blackberry Device Simulator.

Launch the Blackberry device Simulator.

Run Blackberry Desktop Software.

In select Blackberry Device Simulator in menu simulation - USB cable connected

BlackBerry Desktop Software will recognize the Simulator as a real device.

Now, do a full restore to the Simulator.

Suite to selective backup of the Simulator to an ipd file.

After this narrow Simulator.

Plug in the appliance.

And restore data from this new ipd file created through selective backup of the Simulator.

It will work for you.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones SMS Backup-able?

Hello. I had a BB Bold 9650 for six weeks, and the 'o' key is out.  Verizon sent me a new free, but I have text messages that I really want to keep.  If I do a backup of my phone, which will exclude my texts or is it possible to save them for the transfer?

I am open to any downloadable software, with which I can save my texts.  But I checked my options in the SMS section and the inside of the text itself, and there seems to be no way to save these texts is to the card by e-mail, the PC or the media.

Would appreciate any input from anyone before I go ahead and switch phones.  I have maybe just live without "O" key and keep my existing phone.  Sounds crazy, I know, but I really want to save these.  There should be a way to save and transfer all back to the new, I hope.  Searched the web for two hours looking for it but no luck so far.  Thanks for any help you can offer.

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

If you are always two devices by hand, then you can use the switch device Wizard:

Honestly I don't positive how specifically manages the SMS, but there are sections of your user manual that discussing it... You should also check here.

Also, you can manually back up your SMS database, and then I guess that try to restore:

    HII

I am a new Member and this is my 1st post. I have Blackberry 8800 and I have more than 1500 contacts saved in my 8800 but now I recently bought Blackberry Pearl 3 G. So now now I think to take backup of contacts stored in my 8800 instead to save contacts manually in my new Pearl 3 G, so that after a while I can import the contacts from my new Pearl 3 G.

Then, everyone here, please help what and how I can do as requested above?

    Hello poojaagrawal979!

You compatible with software because there is an amazing software called Zebrost software directory with backup as one of its features.

If you are compatible with the software, install Blackberry App World zebrosr. Zebrost directory can be used parellely with our native directory.

Its free and very easy to use.

After the installation of Zebrost, follow the procedure next-

    1. go to your list of contacts in zebrost, click on the menu.

    2. Select Advanced Zebrost Options.

    3. Select Select backup take via zpb server.

    4. it will ask for your e-mail address, enter your email address where it will provide your backup in xls format. Due to xls, you can also filter option.

    5. less than a minute, it will provide you with unique 19-digit. Save this number.

    6. so that whenever you want to import your backup in the BB Pearl 3 G, you need to enter the unique number.

    7. to import contacts, you need to install Zebrost in your BB Pearl 3 G also.

    8. If you want to import the backup of contacts, go to Menu > Advanced Option > import backup > Zpb Server > 19 digit unique number (that you obtained when taking backup).

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Priv backup Contacts on Google

    Hello everyone

I use a Blackberry since 2002, but clearly have some gaps in my understanding of technology!  At the moment I have to go to the help of my beautiful PRIV and transferred my 2000 + contacts from my old to my new Priv Q10 I don't use my head.  When the choice to import my contacts from Google - I chose to make them all "local contacts" only - since I used an Office Outlook rather than Gmail and didn't know that I would now have no way to back up my contacts.  Now, I want to download the new OS - but don't want to do until I backed up my device - especially my Contacts.  How can I move all of my current contacts to Google (who doesn't have a few contacts inside) and save my PRIVATE.  A big thank you to those who help with entry. GigiatTO

If I understand correctly you have all your contacts on your PRIVATE, right?

First you'll need a google account , and I guess you have already.

    Go to the Contacts app

You should see your contacts list and category "Local Contacts" should be displayed above.

Tap 3 dots (...) in the upper right corner

    Select import/export

    Now tap export to storage

    Confirm the operation.

Now, your contacts are saved in the internal memory of your PRIV.

You will need to "file manager" see/find this file, or you can connect your PRIVATE to your PC and copy that newly created... file .vcf on your desktop.

That you have copied this file to your PC

Open the browser and go to google.com

    In search type: google contacts

Click on the link and enter your credentials if requested

Once there, on the left side you should see button 'more '.

When you click on it, there will be more options and you need to ' import/export '.

He points to your file saved on the PC and it will start to transfer your information.

    * Some people have a lot of elements saved in contacts, such as date of birth, address, info from facebook, and so on.  I don't know how much info will get transfer, but should phone numbers and name.

  • Access blackBerry Smartphones to backup data without using a phone smart blackberry. How does this work?

I had a Blackberry 9700 and I made a back-up via Blackberry Protect App. My Blackberry is stolen and I want to transfer all data (approx. 600 phone numbers) from the back-up to my PC or to my Samsung Galaxy SII that I can borrow temporarily from a friend. Bottom-line: I need access to my back-up data without using a Blackberry device. How does this work?

    Hey Sourbag,

Welcome to the community of BlackBerry Support Forums.

You will need a BlackBerry to access these backup information. There is no way around it in BlackBerry Desktop Software.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones to backup contacts from my phone

    I have a Pearl 9105.

Sorry if this sounds very basic to you all, but I want to know specifically if my phone contacts list is backed up durng the "back-up process" when it is connected to my laptop.

If so, how could access to this list to load it on my portable device if I have a problem with the list of contacts in the future, for example if my handheld computer has a software or hardware failure. It's my second Pearl 9105 in three months and I lost all my contacts list when the first failed!

I tried to look in all so-called backup files on my computer laptop but can not open even they even less to see what's inside.

    Thank you

    Hello

These backup files are created to be backup copies. Their purpose is only to be restored on a device.

If you want to read their content, you will need to find applicaitions to third parties, like the ABC Amber BlackBerry Converter.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones restore backup old phone to new phone

Please correct me if I'm wrong...

I had blackberrys for ever.  About 50% of the time I got the phone because I damaged the previous.  I often have backups of any phone, but would never be able to restore the backup to the new.  Rarely, I had the chance to do the switch/phone method 'transfer '.  There must be a way to make this switch from backup?  In general all my emails and contacts were from a BES server - so not a problem.  - But the media, applications, all parameters should be set or downloaded manually again.

Please tell me I missed something that exists.

OK, it did not work for me.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones deleted photo recovery

I was clear a white Peak turned my phone off and this massive deletion started of my photos in my Album in August. Don't know what caused it. Is it possible to recover these photos? More than 200 photos have been deleted.

You get a free PC program called zero assumption recover, google and install it on your PC.

Then, connect your BlackBerry to your PC and run ZAR on your media card to retrieve deleted files.

If photos have been saved in the memory of your media on the device, I don't know if ZAR to extract this suppressed memory space. Try it and see.

  • BlackBerry smartphones select multiple photos for a sending mms

I am trying to send multiple photos (by mms) to [email protected].  He let me only select one at a time to download.  I know how to select more than one (key button), but it does not work.  No matter what body How to select several photos to download at once?

    Thank you!

Send multiple files is easy to do, but I don't know how facebook works with this, you have to try

Click on the image you want to send MMS and select the contact, when it loads and you selected send as MMS the cursor should be at the top next to the name of the image file - simply hit the menu key and select attach picture and navigate to the image next you want to send, and once you have done this , you should see 2 pictures in the sending - MMS window Trackball or the menu to send away button

    Good luck

  • BlackBerry Smartphones battery backup

Anyone please tell me how I can improve the life of the battery of my curve. I'm really sad because of the response I got from my curve. I had a lot of anticipation, but after 6 months I m not satisfied with the image of blackberry. I really need help.

No BlackBerry using push email RIM is connected to a messaging server 24/7, it's simply not how does push email RIM.

It only pushes mail to the device when he 'sees' the mail on your mail server and then pushes messages to your handheld device.

You should re-read the first link I gave you which includes a section on how to find a battery life to drain and recharge for 3-4 days... which should help you. A new battery could also help.

And overflow of the stack and there during the day certainly helps.

  • BlackBerry smartphones select, copy, cut, with only the virtual keyboard?

I hesitated in asking what should be obvious, but I almost exclusively use the manual keyboard, due in part to the ease and accuracy of text (alt + trackball) selection and then proceed to copy etc.

How to do the same with the virtual keyboard?

Place the cursor in the right place for the beginning of the word, press the BB button and 'select', highlight the trackball/pad through and again press the BB button and select "copy".
