  Tips to clear the message unread... try them in the order.

  If you have a new icon rogue Message on your home screen, or a negative number (-1), one of these solutions could erase or reset:

  Try these options:
  * Hard Reset BlackBerry now ALT CAP (right Shift key) and DEL (or with the BlackBerry power, remove the battery and reinsert the battery)
  Messages > saved Messages
  Messages > view folders, check each folder (calls, SMS and MMS, and boxes, saved missed boxes, browser, phone logs etc.)
  * Scroll at the top of the folder, on the title menu, click or tap to MARK PRIOR OPEN date
  Change your theme and see if it persists and return to your desired theme. (Options > theme > select.)
  * Clean and reload your OS.

  I had a problem with my flashlight since I downloaded the updates of some apps the other day. Now, whenever the Mute button on the upper right part of the torch is hit, a gong sounds and a few seconds later, a female voice says "you have no new messages."   Go to Options > device > application and look through the list of installed applications. Do you see anything that looks like its place there?

  If there is, just delete the application that was guilty. If this isn't the case, then there are two more radical options, including making a security wipe to reset your phone or a complete reload of the operating system. If you do not know what app could be causing it, the list of your third-party applications here and we can see if anything could be the cause.

  I have a Curve 8520 and a week ago I noticed I could not add or edit contacts on the device. I already tried wipping and reinstallation of the operating system, but it was useless.

• The old messages blackBerry Smartphones keep popping up like new with OWA Exchange.

  My account is a Microsoft Exchange account that I connect using Outlook or Outlook Web Access (OWA).  Sometimes (and I can't find a reason for it) when I reread an email using Outlook/OWA message get redistributed to the BlackBerry as if it were a new message.  Otherwise reconciliation seems to work perfectly (both delete and keep track of read vs unread messages.)  I find it very confusing.

  I tried to find some adjustments in currency options which would explain this and have not been able to.

  Any suggestions?

• Pls Help blackBerry smartphones! 9900 pings and bbm normal message do not produce Z10 and Q10.

  I need some serious help here as soon as possible, I can't reach all my friends with Q10 and Z10 by bbm normal message on my 9900... It will always bring X nothing I try to send them a message bbm nomal and Pings. I will receive their own message, but my own come deliver it to them, I will also see their updates of the pm and the will to see mine too.  Pls help me.

  Sorry for the trouble, but I noticed this same problem with few other users, who could not send pings to any BlackBerry 10 there BlackBerry 7 devices.

  To solve your problem, I suggest to re-install BlackBerry Messenger!  To do this on your homescreen go to Options > device > application > locate and remove BlackBerry Messenger from there. After deleting to do a battery pull reboot as this device powered on remove the battery wait a min. then reinsert back.

  Finally, after the reboot, use your BlackBerry browser and go to www.blackberry.com/bbmdownload and download the latest available for your phone model. If device reboot prompt do then sign in with your ID BlackBerry even.

  Hi, when I receive a text, email or call, the name of the sender and the beginningt of the text message appears in a black box on the screen and stays there for 20-30 seconds. Is there a way to cut this notification method and have just the new message counter and the blackberry icon methods for letting me know that there is a new message?

  I checked a few items on my list of app, and it seems that e-Mobile Preview is the culprit... Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. I delete the app or turn it off.

  Hello.  I'm new here and this is my first post.

  Last week, I receive text messages that disappear before I had the chance to read.  In addition, people have told me they sent me text messages, but I never.  I sent text messages to myself from another phone just to confirm that I am receiving them and that they are removed until I get to read.  Even when I delete everything in my Inbox, I still have the same problem.  My phone also receive emails and SMS.

  You are facing constraints of memory in your device. Perform the following steps-

  1. Give a soft reset by removing the battery for 30 sec.
  2. Check the amount of memory is free in your device to Options -> status -> free memory. To view all aspects of database go to Option -> status -> click on the Menu button and then select the database size
  3. Remove the less frequently used application. To remove go to Options -> Advanced Options -> Applications -> highlight the application you want to delete-> click Menu , and then select Remove
  4. If you stored your image in the memory of the device to move them to your media card

  My wifes 3G curve died this weekend and she's getting her a new today. I was wonding if I can restore its contacts (address book and BBM) through the switch device Wizard in Office Manager?

  If it is 'dead' as you say it and does not turn on, it'll be pretty hard using the switch device Wizard. However, this method is ideal.

  Now, she a recent backup of the old device, it would have done using the Desktop software or she uses her BlackBerry Protect on his old device?

  If it has a backup, it can use Desktop software > device > restore and the system should select the most recent backup, or you can perform a search to find and set it to restore it on the new device, all contacts, messages, calendar, etc.

  The easiest way is, on a PC (you can not do on MAC):

  (1) make sure that you have a current backup and your BB complete... you can find the instructions at the link in my auto-sig below.

  2) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

  (3) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

  (4) download and install on your computer, the BB OS package you want:

  • If all you want are the levels of BONE, it is first sorted by carrier - the carrier supports, your search will be fast. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To really get the package up-to-date OS for your BB, you need to dig through and find all businesses that support your specific model BB and then compare the BONE levels they support.
  • Use this KB to help you choose the good alternative OS to include the language you want:

  5) remove all copies of the SELLER on your PC. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

  • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
  • C:\Users\(your Windows username) \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

  6 (a) to change your level of BB OS installed (at level or lower), you can run the Desktop software and connect your BB... the software should offer the operating system package you have installed on your PC.

  If, during the process of 6a or 6 b, your BB has an error '507', simply unplug the USB of the BB cord and reinsert it. do nothing else... This should allow the installation to continue.   I have all the settings have not changed and am for some reason, unable to send emails from my gmail account. My business email works great.

  I get all emails and when I answered, or compose a new message I've only have the option to save a draft.

  Call your carrier and ask mail books, they can send to you in less than 30 seconds, or you can do this through your operator's web page, connect your account and go to the installation and maintenance log, post send you.

  After this check, if you can send messages.

  Every time I open my email it will the same message from a month ago.  How can I get the email to open the current date or a more recent message?

  Open your message list... Press the T key to go to the top of the list (new message).

  Your device will remember where you are in the list when you close your messages folder and open this place next time.

  And by pressing the B button, you will join the main (oldest) message in the list.
