  Hi, I'm new to BB. I want to know how to change MY NUMBER on my handheld. Currently it is showing my number: unknown.

  The funny thing is that this problem has just started to happen.  A week ago, it was fine.  When I call a number that is not blocked, my number happens correctly on the caller ID but shows as not identified.  Sometimes, it comes under the name international.

  Now, the funny is that if I put my SIM card in my Pearl, I can make calls without problem.

  There are two settings on the "BOLD" under General options.  One is called 'restrict my identity"in this case, I have it set to NEVER.  I also tried NETWORK DETERMINED, but none of them make a difference.  The other setting is called 'Show My Number' and this is set to YES.

  I talked to AT & T until I'm blue in the face.  They say that it is a problem with the phone and must be replaced.  I can hardly believe that.  I have a friend with the same phone and it has the same problem.

  I saw a few discussions about this before in other forums, but never didn't see a solution to this problem.

  It would be great to find a solution.  Oh and by the way.  Already tried to do a reset factory and a wipe of security on the phone.  No go.

  This problem has now been fixed.  Calls always show from abroad, but they are blocked is no longer.

  It could be one of the three solutions... Try these:

  1. make sure that you set your own code to the Dialer phone screen > Options > smart dialing.

  Set your country Code in this format: "+ xx" where xx = country code. Some countries have two or three-digit country Codes. Do not place not the '+' in the entrance of your contact.

  * In the United States, the value of this country as '+ 1' Code and place your local area code in the appropriate box (this normally the default setting in a new BB).

  2. in the same place, change the length of National number for the number of digits corresponding to your country (since some countries have less than 10 as that set by default in the BB). Check out the total numbers, less country code. Do not place not the '+' in the entrance of your contact.

  * For example, some countries have a total number to 8 (more than 3 for the country code). You must enter '8 '.

  3. you probably have "Content Protection" located on your address book.

  Look at the Options > Security > General settings. Scroll down to the content Protection > include addresses = no

  It looks like the BlackBerryID if you are locked out for 15 minutes.

  A wrong entered security password would give you only a message something like «wrong password 2/10»

  I downloaded the most current BB Desktop software if I could fix it.

  My problem is that even if the phone is recognized, it does not connect...

  At the bottom right it says it connects, but never does.

  My other BB 8520 is easily connected & I can access all the options in the menu drop-down menu...

  He also tells me what version of software I have.

They look good in contacts but when I go to contacts and press send to dail a phone number, that number 62 appears in front of each phone number when the compound.   Hi and welcome to the forums. I'm not sure that I fully understand what you are looking for in what concerns your BB to lock. If you tried to set a password, and it was not what you liked? You can quickly lock your device in now the * key. If you have a password enabled, you can type on it to unlock everything. If you have a case with a magnet nearby, you can set your device to lock onto Holster. A password is needed to unlock after waking from sleep. Your device is paused when the case or when you press mute. I hope that helped. I would like to know if I was far away or if you have any other questions.

It's called BuzzOff and there a free trial of 25 blocks to make sure that it works directly on your phone, and then it's only $4.99 if you decide to do. I also understood how to block SMS. The person was in my address book, so I deleted from my address book and then option - security - fire guard - block SMS - except address book contacts. We'll see how it works. Wish me luck!   Your carrier is wrong when they say that its been downloaded already on another device and that is why you can not download. I don't know why they say that, but that's not true.

  When you download BlackBerry Protect, it should not ask you for your PIN or any code. The only time where he should require any entry is the first time you open (it may ask you to enter your email BlackBerry ID and password, but that's all).

  Instead of download via the icon on your screen, open BlackBerry App World and search for BlackBerry Protect there Download BlackBerry App World. At least that can offer an alternative method. If you still have problems to make it work, please let me know.
