BlackBerry Smartphones want automatic event reminders on my Blackberry.

Hi all!

This is my 1 post in the forum. And I have a problem, hope that someone here will sort it.

I have Blackberry 8820 and I have about 2000 contacts with birthdays as withevents and detailed information.

But I am unable to get the event reminders, but also anniversaries. Is there a solution to typemanually every year in the calendar. Please give me a device or an application for automatic reminders ofevents or birthdays that I hate the lack of his birthday wish.

I don't think that WinReminders is the best option that she perceives $25 ony after 180 days.

The best option for automatic birthday reminders is to use the directory telephone zebrost. This software is free. This book can be used parellely with our native directory and is available on app.world.

I had recently installed this, because it is free, but also easy to use. After the installation, all the contacts in the native directory comes to zpb. It gives the provisions to store several anniversaries in single contact. In a single contact, I stored my friend's birthday, her husband, her children, their birthday and their office opening date and I automatically gets the reminder on the date on which all of the above event occurs...

Apart from that, if anyone is a users zpb and himself instructed his put bcard updated with all events such as birthday, anniversary etc. on the zpb user and I have his phone number in my home directory, and then run "UPDATE CONTACT" in SeeYou cards in zpb, I get the bcard update of these people. ". And if that person has already come birthday then I automatically get the reminder on my phone for her birthday and I care about him from this recall.

Thus zpb gives me reminders of automatic birthday of those people that I have not yet entered in birthdays or other events manually. Secondly, it allows me to enter the multiple events in one contact with each event reminder service a particular contact.

Finally even if I change my phone model, I'll copy all my contacts from your old phone again. In this case the birthdays and other things are also transferred. So no need to manually type the birthdays again in the new phone. Also, no need to enter birthdays on annual basis. I am grateful to zpb.

Im not sure if there is an empirical "remind me about 06:00" setting, however when you set up a singular event you can tell him to remind you about it at times in front of it... like an hour, 2 hours, 2 days etc.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones USB automatically disconnects from the PC, you can't install OS

    Hello

I bought a used blackberry 8320. I wanted to upgrade the operating system on it, so I installed the BB Desktop Software 4.5, installed latest OS BB8320m from blackberry.com (4.5.0.294) to my PC, connected my phone to the PC via the USB cable and tried to update the operating system, during the update, my phone automatically disconnected a few times when the installer said "Waiting for device to initialize. After that, he went up to "loading software system...» Stage of module rim.bb... «, then the phone unplugged USB and BB Desktop Software displays an error «a fatal error occurred during the update...» ». At this point, my device showed 561 error with a Windows 3.0 as a window with a triangle, square, and a circle in it. I read online that this can be corrected by wiping the phone using Jl_Cmder. I did this, then he displayead '507' on the screen.

Now, I said that I can "easily" solve this by simply loading the operating system on the device. But whenever I try to load the operating system, the phone disconnects automatically during installation. It seems to happen at the same stage.

Later, I realized that if I connect the device to the PC and just leave, it STILL disconnects randomly, almost every 2 minutes!

How can I fix it? I want to install an OS on my blackberry.

I tried this on two different machines, different ports and with + without the battery.

  • BlackBerry smartphones, stop automatically updates by email

the Red blinking light that lights up when I have a new email is driving me crazy! I want to be able to "manually" check your email. Is there a way to stop the blackberry to check my e-mail server for new messages automatically?

No, the RIM push email is his biggest characteristic and RIM servers asks your e-mail on a regular basis as planned servers.

If you don't want the new email notifications, you can disable the notification of the LED of the post (and any audible or vibrating notifications in your profile.) If you need help editing those, please say so.

  • Updates to device applications blackBerry Smartphones stopping automatic

I'm short of BlackBerry Desktop manager version 4.7 and when I sync I have an automated updates of device application check routine, which takes 10 seconds or more. Its irritating that it shows me the application device updates that I already have or don't want, and I have to go through the routine each time. Is it possible to stop it does this automatically and only check updates when I want? Thank you, Jon.

    • Go to the Control Panel and select Add/Remove Programs, then select BlackBerry Desktop Software 4.7and click the [Change/Remove] button.
      .
    • On the next screen, Modify should already be selected - select it if it is not, and click [next].
      .
    • In the next screen, click the down arrow to the right of the AutoUpdate BlackBerry and select this feature will not be available in the drop-down list.  A red X now appear to the left of the option. Click [next].
      .
    • The appropriate integration Option should already be selected. Depending on your choice, there may be one or two screens that follow. Just click [next] until you get to the window titled Install Options.
      .
    • Uncheck the box to the left of the check for software updates , and then click [install].

This should stop Desktop Manager to connect to the Internet to get the latest Vendor.xml which also prevents you from being able to install OS another carrier on your device.

A single note.  I haven't looked at it lately, but in the last tent to change a Desktop Manager installation may often fail.  This is because if you have installed by simply running the EXE file that you download from the BlackBerry site, it actually originates in your Temp directory and moved from there.  The MSI file to allow changes in the installation is supposed to be copied to another location-usually in a directory under Windows or Program Files, but older versions do not, so when you went to make a change in the installation, if the file has been removed from your Temp directory, it would stop and ask the MSI file and not be able to move forward until you point to it.

However, the EXE you download is really just a self extracting Zip file and can be easily extracted with WinZip or any other utility typical non-archivage.  Whenever I installed Desktop Manager, I have first to extract the EXE file to its final location and then run BlackBerrySetup.exe.  This means that the MSI will always be available when I need to modify the installation (which I am surprisingly often since I am also favourable blackberries to work).  In general this is not a problem with regular users, which is no doubt why the problem was never solved (at least as late as version 4.5 anyway).

  • BlackBerry smartphones want to delete calendar and start again

I have a Pearl 8130 with Bell Mobility.  I sync using google sync for google calendar.  I have a Mac at home and do not use desktop manager or any other software to manage my BB.  I do it all right on your handheld.  I recently started major problems with duplicate entries.  Despite trying to get help with duplicate entries, nothing worked and I want to just wipe the calendar and start over.  I don't have FB loaded on the phone but the cical and the cmime are both set to my main gmail account.

Can someone tell me please how to clear the calendar since I don't have Desktop Manager?  Or maybe a solution that works with my Mac?

    Warmly,.

I found the answer.  Instructions are here http://www.yale.edu/its/mobile-technology/blackberry/remove-calendar-items.html.  The only thing that not removed from my calendar using this method was since then the recurring events I had with no end date.  Everything else has gone.

  • Sync iCal to blackBerry Smartphones want to remove old entries

Recently, when I use BB Desktop to sync with my new MacBook, it wants to add 2, 482 to modify and delete 1053. The first 2 are not a problem, but I don't want to erase the old iCal entries.

I tried to adjust to synchronize only future or synchronization from-999 to + 999 days nothing works.

Can what work-around I use to return to the synchronization?

    Thank you

It helped me for this problem...

On your BlackBerry, go to the calendar, then press the Menu key, then select Options. You have a set that says 'Keep appointments' defined for a specified period.

If so, you will need to change this at all never.

Once I changed it, I did a rewrite of the BlackBerry sync (I use Missing Sync). Then a normal Sync worked well without deleting the old events.

Hello and welcome to the community!

I can't say what OS you're on, but if I remember correctly the last OS for this model was the one where there was no possibility to make it work on WiFi only. These levels of devices/OS required an active subscription from a company to a data plan BB in order to use all services, even via WiFi only.

I know that's what you were eager to learn, but it is what it is.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry smartphones want to use normal 3G plan with blackberry

    Hello
I have BlackBerry Curve 9330 phone. I want to use this phone for GPS (to aid
(Google maps). Can use normal airtel 3G for GPS data plan. I don't want to take
plan data on Blackberry, since I use only the GPS on my phone, with the exception of the normal telephone services.

Hello and welcome to the community!

You will need to talk to your mobile service provider. Some do not allow the BBs on their network without a complete BB data plan. Can additional you can have a generic data plan.

In addition, you must check your GPS application... If it works with a generic data plan, so it should work fine if your carrier allows you (according to the above). If the application requires a complete BB data plan, then it would be necessary. It depends of your GPS application... the GPS itself in the device simply receives signals from the GPS satellites... it is the GPS application to process this information and combine it with card data obtained through your data connection.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Storm calendar event 'all day' views in 2 days

    Desktop Manager v 4.7.0.37

    Storm 9350 v 4.7.0.122

My annual events to Outlook sync the storm through the Desktop Manager.

However, an annual event (e.g. birthday) shows over 2 days.

Example: Birthday of sam on Storm Watch:

    23 June:

Sam's birthday, watch on 23 June wih alarm and repeat symbols

Details of the opening shows: (open the occurance) "All day event" is checked

    Start June 23,

    End June 23,

    Duration 1 day.

    Time zone Eastern Time (even),

    Display as free time.

    Reminder 30 min

    24 June:

shows all the details above with no change.

Why does birthday again June 24 if the appointment ends on June 23?

This behavior occurs consistently for all annual events.

    Best regards, Rick

    Thanks for the comments.

It appears that the problem was that the information of the 2 versions of the calendar stored on the BB. One of the calendar versions had the question as previously mentioned on gle all-day event is not from 12 hours.

Using the procedure from the thread on 'calendar since update problem '.

    (a) removed the CICAL for my email. Check that that a timetable "default device" remained

  • Speaker blackBerry Smartphones starts automatically on certain calls

For the reasons that I can't explain, the speaker turns on automatically when my wife calls for about 5 seconds and then returns to the normal mode.  I have absolutely no idea how this 'feature' has been enabled.

I can't find this option in the profiles/edit function.  I have an exception for my wife - and I am sure that the speaker phone option must be associated with this exception... but I know not where/how to turn off.

My phone is running V4.6.1.83, the Platform 3.0.0.41, Curve 8350i

    Welcome to the kjbrand forums

I don't know if you tried, but when your phone starts to 'Act' always try a battery pull first:
    1. remove the battery while the phone is turned on
    2. wait a few seconds before inserting it again
    3. wait for the long end of the boot process (takes a few minutes usually)

This clears most of the software problems that occur on the BlackBerry from time to time. You can also use Quickpull, a free application that simulates a battery pull without removing the battery: http://software.crackberry.com/product.asp?id=27660
A battery pull gets lost when using the applications memory and clears minor software errors that creep over time. The blackberry is running an operating system just like your PC is running windows and battery pull is the equivalent of a reboot / restart your computer.

There should be no reason why the phone should go to the speaker on its own, and it sounds like a software problem. I hope that suits him!

  • Email accounts two blackBerry Smartphones, want only audible notification for one of them

I have two e-mail accounts, account A is my corporate email account, account B is the account I have set up for blackberry.net ([email protected]).  I tried unsuccessfully to set up different alerts for different e-mail accounts.  Basically, I want to activate audibles for account B only, so that I can use the Blackberry as a paging device, only distributing this email account for paging on appeal.

Is could someone please tell me if this is possible?  At the same time, I got on alert, but it was for each e-mail, including the e-mail company, so it's been pretty useless in my case.

NOTE: I already tried bbalerts.  AFAIK, it warns when subject: and from: lines, not the To: line.
