• Does anyone know BlackBerry Smartphones when Verizon will offer 5.0 for the 8330?

  I would really like to get out of 4.5.  I 4.7 on my company BB (8900 from T-Mobile) and love it much better, but reading of about 5.0, according to me, I have love even better yet.  Unfortunately, 4.5 is the only OS listed on the page from Verizon for the 8330.  No one knows when they will release 5.0?  From what I read they will, but I would like to know if I should wait a week 6 wait or wait 2 years...

  Freshness. BTW - there will be published little (if any) on when RIM's 'official' for what you're looking for. Instead, what you will see is that some carriers release the version you are looking for... VZW will do what they do in their own sweet time.

  At the top of the stickies is a thread that Xandrex keeps up to date with current versions of each carrier operating system device (that he has information on, of course). I have not waded in this thread (it's pretty long), but it might have a table for your model, that will guide you to locate different materials with the levels of release.

  If you find that a carrier has sanctioned a device OS you want, you can usually get them through their DL site via this Portal:

  Know that AppWorld is simply a portal, vending apps developed mainly by others. Therefore, it is not your exclusive supply source - there are others that you can try (e.g., Handango, Handmark, BPlay, GetJAR and Mobihand). I found that there are very few applications that is exclusive to AppWorld. You can see the online catalogue and then look for other sources of supply, including quite often on the developer website.

  Please more understand that RIM has no unilateral control over the availability of AppWorld. On the contrary, a triad of entities must agree - RIM, wireless service provider, and Government. As the main entity to profit in this triad, I've always suspected that the RIM is not one that could hinder the process.

  When I get a call, I unholster the BB, look to see who's calling, then reply with my BT (BlueTooth Headset). When I try to case the BB, the call is suspended. I guess its because the physical call and end keys are getting hit. Is there a way around this? Drives me CrAzY!

  In fact, there is a parameter which, by default, will hang up the call when sheathed.

  To change this setting:

  1. press the call button to bring up the keyboard.

  2. press the menu button, then select Options.

  3. select General Options.

  4. change Auto end calls: forever.

  I had the Blackberry 9860 and connected to MTN Nigeria for about 3 weeks and it only plugged into the data last weekend. Last Sunday, I went to the Kenya, so I'm now roaming on Safaricom with data roaming turned off. Yesterday, I noticed that the "missed calls" page opens whenever I click on the icons 'message' and 'text '.

  Try this-

  When your device is turned on, remove the battery for a minute and then reinsert the battery. This do a reboot your device that addresses minor issues with the BlackBerry.

• How can I tell Hotmail that a sender is not dangerous/malicious when it will have the message marked as dangerous?

  I had several occasions when an email is highlighted in red and marked as,

  "This message seems very suspicious to our SmartScreen filter, so we blocked attachments, pictures and links for your safety."
  Some of them were automatically sent to Junk and should be found whenever this person sends regardless of their marking not Junk and listing the sender in my address book as safe.
  They are often from known senders, or were responses to the requests for employment or mailing lists, I've joined, usually by ensuring that they are known to me.
  Is there a way I can teach the system are not dangerous?

  I have a Blackberry Curve 8900 and use Entourage 2008 on my Mac for notes, calendar, and contacts of sycning.  Everything seems to sync both ways very well - outside of calendar events created on the device.  They synchronize with Entourage.  In addition, the changes I make to an event on the blackberry is not updated in Entourage.

  Can anyone help?

  I recently bought a Blackberry Storm 2, and I use Entourage 2008 and installed the Blackberry Desktop Manager. I had a few problems just getting up and running together. But now that's happening, everything seems to work fine schedule and even create events on the device. When I sync appear in Entourage, although they do not have a category.

  Have you checked iCal to see if they are be synchronized with the Entourage calendar in iCal? This may seem Basic, but have you checked the calendar section of the Blackberry Desktop Manager to ensure that the menu "add events created on the BlackBerry smartphone to" is set to the Entourage? I don't seem to have any other option, but I thought to ask anyway. Have you checked the advanced settings in the Blackberry Desktop Manager to synchronize all events?

  I create a calendar on the device event and had the address send using one different address other then the first email address for the device and for some reason any event do not synchronize. When I create a new event, however, the address to send it to the help is on the default.

  The only problem I seem to have is if I change the status of an event on the device (from busy free for example), he gets twice in the Entourage, but even in the event new status is still set to busy.
