BlackBerry Z10 create folders in the device memory

I tried severlly to create a folder at the root of the peripheral drive. All I get is "You must." authorized to perform this action I did research cela all day. I went to PROPERTIES, then SECURITY and thus on to change permission settings, take in hand the folder and so on. Once I APPLIED, he said: access is denied.

Who knows how to do this, or it is impossible to create files/directories to the root of the device memory?

I feel ogical need to post this here just in case someone else has a similar question.

Here's how I found the song ads question:

In BB Torch, I simply copied my songs because they were (in folders) in the torch, and they have been recognized and Categorized like that. It's different in Z10. If you would like your songs listed by Album, then all the songs that you want identified as belonging to the same album must be named/renamed/classified/recatogorized way you want listed.

I could almost hear someone say, duh! But here's how I did it. It's more work for me, but my songs are how I want them now. No multiple records for the same album.

  • Map of blackBerry Smartphones transfer Media to the device memory

    I have a few rings I bought and you want to transfer. I update the Mem Card a 8 GB of the 120 MB and you must place these ringtones on the device memory and then put in a larger map and then transfer to the Mem card. Can someone give me some step by step directions if possible. Thank you as always. Eldon

    The media icon > Explore > go to your desired ringtone and don't open it, just highlight it > Menu > move.

    From there you access the memory of your device and drop it into the similar ringtone folder.

    You can also copy off your ringtones on your PC by allowing the storage of mass on your media card Options > Media Card.

    Then plug your BB to the USB port and you should be an option for a removable folder in my computer on your PC.

  • BlackBerry Curve 8330 Smartphone saves files in the device memory

    I am an experienced BlackBerry user and currently have a 8330.  I have a micro-SD 4 GB installed and no matter how many times I select 'save on the memory card media', after a few days or an unknown event, the unit will automatically return to the option 'save the media in the device memory.  Sounds like a software problem, then I want to see if anyone else has had the issue.

    Well, there is no problem in the database. My thought is to return the service directories and update the device options. The next would be to charge your device OS.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones how can I access media files stored on the device memory?

    I transferred photos/music from my computer on the device in the device memory files. However when I go to my media files, it only shows items that are stored on the media map.

    Where can I access the files that are stored on the device memory? When I connect to the BB Desktop software I can view, but not the device itself, it seems.

    In addition, where can I find the files that I have inadvertently 'hidden' in the photo options?

    Any help is appreciated.

    1. options > media > menu button > Explorer > support memory cards and devices.

    2 see the hidden.

  • BlackBerry smartphones HELP! The device memory that is missing!

    After installing the Wifi File Transfer, I accidentally renamed the "store /" folder and now I cannot access the memory of the camera on my Curve 8520. Opening of the device memory in the application of files just shows a white screen. I lost all the preloaded images and tones, as well as the photos stored on the onboard memory.

    If I take a picture with the camera and tap Rename, a box will appear with the full path in the memory of the device, which is supposed to be "device memory/home/user/images". I can't access that more. I also can't access "Device memory/samples" that contains the ringtones and images.

    Wipe it and reload the operating system, but you will lose all the images on the device memory making (which SHOULD in the future be saved on press card!).

    I guess however that you renamed the "device memory/home/user / ' directory, you can go back and do it again, I don't really know. I never met anyone who does. It's looks like it's like deleting a directory, that's what you were doing.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones access to the device memory?

    Hello

    is it possible to access the device through the computer memory? I saw some screenshots where the device itself (I can access the SD card) was introduced as a removable media on a computer device. I would like to be able to drag & drop files directly on the main memory instead of the first on the SD card and then move them on the device to main memory. I would also like to be able to have access to the home\user directory.

    I have enabled the 'thing' of mass storage - I changed from MTP and MSC - I have toggled the SD - I still don't see the device memory.

    Thanks in advance

    Other devices (like the Storm2 and the Bold9000 have three sets of memory space

    1. application of memory (not available)

    2 (access) memory, that some devices have this space of memory.

    3 Media Card (available)

  • Can not access the device memory or the SD card

    My app (9500) allows users to select a file from the device memory in the device or SD card. As a base, I used the FileExplorerDemo code that was included in the sample applications. My application seems to work fine on the Simulator, but not on a real device. For those who do not know the FileExplorerDemo he builds the list of directory as follows:

    Private Sub readRoots (root of the chain)
    {
    _parentRoot = root;

    That is clear in the list.
    _list. RemoveAll();

    FileConnection fc = null;
    Enumeration rootEnum = null;

    If (root! = null)
    {
    Open the file system and to obtain the list of directories/files.
    Try
    {
    FC = (FileConnection) Connector.open ("file:///" + root);
    rootEnum = fc.list ();
    }
    catch (Exception ioex)
    {
    }
    Finally
    {

    If (cf! = null)
    {
    Everything is read, be sure to close the connection.
    Try
    {
    FC. Close();
    CF = null;
    }
    catch (Exception ioex)
    {
    }
    }
    }
    }

    It has no root to read, so now we read the roots of the system.
    If (rootEnum is nothing)
    {
    rootEnum = FileSystemRegistry.listRoots ();
    }

    Read the list of directories/files.
    While (rootEnum.hasMoreElements ())
    {
    String file = (String) rootEnum.nextElement ();

    If (root! = null)
    {
    file = root + file;
    }

    readSubroots (file);
    }
    }

    I tried to change the "file:///" "file:///SDCard" and "file:///SDCard/Blackberry" as I saw in some messages here, but I get an empty list. All permissions are set to allow. When I connect the BB I see 2 devices on Windows Explorer: 'Blackberry1' and 'Blackberry2 '. I would give to
    give the user access to these 2 drives. Basically, I'm trying to recreate the functionality of the media browser.

    So I'm pointing to the root of evil or something?

    'file:///SDCard/' must be correct.  Make sure that if you test this with the USB cable connected have you turn off mass storage Mode.  The file system may be exposed to more than one OS at a time.  Basically, if you see the drive letters on the PC, the device will not have access to it.

  • Where to store the images uploaded on the device memory

    My app download pictures on the internet and stores them in the file system of the device. The problem I have is that I don't know where to store these images. If I store them in the pictures folder in the device memory or the SD card, they appear in the photo gallery of phones which is not acceptable.

    I need advice on the storage location of these images.

    Thank you

    Welcome on the support forums.

    If your application is the only user of images you can store them in a different format or with another extension, this avoids them listed in the overview.

    more complicated would be encryption, but also quite possible, just take the array of bytes of each image, encrypt him and then add it as a file.

  • Software BlackBerry Blackberry link cannot communicate with the device (Z10 and MacBookPro)

    I've just updated my Z10 software to version 10.0.9.2372 by link of BlackBerry OS on my MacBook Pro, and since that time, I can't get the link to communicate again to my Z10. Even an attempt to "Restore the device" is insuccessful as the error: "canoe repair of error" appears during the process. (Believe me, it is the real spelling of this error message!) can anyone suggest a solution? (Yes, I re-installed the link on my mac, rebooted the phone numerouis times, disconnected and re-connected the USB cable, without success.)

    Problem solved! I found that link to 79 BlackBerry update build on my MacBook Pro, I am now able to connect to my Z10.

    I hope this helps those who have the same problem.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Email attachments - how to save an attachment to the device memory or media card?

    I have a BlackBerry 8310 Curve, which we got up to speed up our translation services.  the thing is that we have received a document attached, and we could not know how to SAVE the attachment to either the memory card or peripheral support, which would then allow us to transfer it directly to the laptop to work on.

    The temporary solution we found was to convey the message to a different email address and download it to your computer. For some reason any later we could not attach the document to email the map of media either, so we had to email from the laptop to the blackberry, and then forward it to the client.

    So, my questions are:

    How to save an attachment to an e-mail message OR the card memory or device support?

    How can I attach a document to an email when ATTACH it to does not display the file in the folder? (of course I've already put it there)

    and as a side note

    Why I could open the email attachment I had forwarded to the blackberry, but I could not open the original document (the two word .doc) sent customer e-mail.

    Here are the details of my laptop: Win XP Home edition, Service Pack 3

    Unfortunialy up to what your phone is updated with OS 4.5 the only way is to do it as you have in the past or I'm sure there are some programs that you can buy until you do not upgrade.

  • Monitor devices blackBerry Z10 - black except for the storage tab

    Hello

    My monitor of the device (from quick settings) is completely empty except for the storage tab. This means that battery, processor, and memory are all does not properly.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you!

    Hello and welcome to the community!

    Each time a random strange behavior or slowness comes, the first thing to try is a proper reboot:

    • Pre-BB10 ONLY devices. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes.
    • Peripheral BB10. Hold the top button until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the unit to be completely stopped (for example, nothing appears on the screen, no lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red light. Wait through the entire boot process. If this fails, you can try the method of battery-pull above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.

    See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not see the device on my computer memory

    Hello

    I have Blackberry 9000 with a 16 GB SD card.

    I am able to sync my calendar with my laptop running Vista successfully.

    Parameters of memory are:

    Media card support: on

    Encryption mode: no

    Mass storage Mode support: on

    Enable Auto... When connected: Yes (I tried both guest)

    The card has been formatted with the BB.

    I have not been able to 'see' my BB or the card memory in Windows.  I tried 3 computers (an XP and Vista 2) does not.  In one of them, I even tried remapping all the drives except C: SC E:, F:, etc..

    Any help would be appreciated.

    I had the same problem.  Support BB said on the phone was defective and he was replaced by ATT.  Replacement phone had the same problem.  But I found an unofficial patch for the problem; EM.  BB technical support said they do not support this difficulty, although they acknowledged that the problem set is actually a real problem that occurs.

    If your "BOLD" is under warranty have BB tech says that it is defective and get a new one.  Otherwise try your luck with the unofficial fix - it worked perfectly on both phones ATT sent me (but I'm still back together and insisting that ATT send me a phone that works - I should not have to rely on a 3rd party program to repair a defective phone.)

    Do a google search for this exact phrase: "some people have problems with the mass memory" and go to the forum of pinstack site that google finds. Yes, it's "are have" in the expression you are looking for.  It was not a typo.

    You will have to join pinstack (it's free) to download the patch.  If it works for you do not forget to thank the OP there.  He did a great service to anyone struggling with this problem.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones the device memory appears not

    I am accessing my device memory via mass storage. But when I connect with mass storage, I can only access the SD card. Happens also when I go into options-> memory - I see there is application memory, and card multimedia, but without memory of the device, as in other phones.

    Control programmatically for file:///store/home/user, shows it exists, and I am able to save files on it. -How to get back my device memory? Any one of these problems?

    Thank you

    Dan.

    Well, although not really a solution/explanation, I discovered I can explore my device memory if I go to the media in my home screen, then press explore - there, I can see all the files and manage them.

    If someone was so far, thanks for the attention
