BlackBerry Z10 thousands of duplicates in my contacts list.

I have been using my Z10 for about six months and the duplicates in my contact list are more quickly,

Just an observation, yesterday I added a mobile phone number to a new contact manually, aan added a LinkedIn profile to the contact.  in one day the contactname and toll-free number (LinkedIn profile) is duplicated 50 times (!) in my contacts list. Other contacts, I have called or called me once to two times have been reproduced hundreds of times.

After removing some duplicate contacts manually (hours of work), they reappear, and other contacts are also reappear and duplicate automatically, leaving me with a list of contacts unusable of over 21,000 contacts. (to be exact 21.054 and counting, now 21.059, which means more than 1,000 new duplicates in the last 24 hours).

Can someone please advise?

I had the same thing is happening all synchronize my contacts through my e-mail outlook.com account.

I deleted all THE contacts and resynced and everything was fine.

Due to a problem of software of Samsung download many of my contacts in windows mail has been copied several times. I need to remove hundreds of duplicate contacts. Will never delete one at a time. Can you advise how to highlight that both 30 and remove at once? Thank you

These keystrokes work in most lists in Windows:

    1. Click on an item to select it;
    2. Click on an item to select it, hold CTRL and click on either one to be selected at a time;
    3. Click on an item to select it, hold the SHIFT key and click another to select both and everything in the meantime;
    4. Click on an item to select it, hold CTRL and press A to select all the items.
Press DELETE to remove the selection.

You will find it easier to select multiple items in the Contacts folder, if you select view > Details.

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not call numbers from contact list?

Hi, I have a blackberry curve 8350 and for some reason whenever I try to call a number in my contacts list, it indicates the code or number I dialed is incorrect, and please try again.

I know that the number is just because they can call me very well, if I dial the number calling me, but when I try to do from the list of contacts it just won't let me.  Its a problem because I don't remember hundreds if the number I have stored.

I noticed that when my phone is to dial the number, it always puts a sign before the number as his try dialing international or something.  For example I want to call 216-478-9876, but my phone dial + 216-478-9876.

I'm so lost, and any useful information would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you

    Welcome to the Bennie06 forums

I think it has to do with your smart dial settings. In the list of phone go to menu > Options > Smart Dialing. Make sure your country code is + 1 if you are in the USA/Canada. I think it will work. If this isn't the case, post back with the settings were there.

When you are in the list of BBM contacts, further down from the top, you can see "Settings" in the upper right. Touch it and then scroll down to "Contact Layout".

Here you can choose between 'Grid' or 'list '. Choose 'list '.

If please post if it works for you or not. Thank you.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones please help me find my contact list!

    Hello world

I have a blackberry curve 8900 which I love, but which I think may have violated my mind this time!

When I go into my contacts to search for a contact it just continues to "Add contact" - when I type the name of the contact in the contact 'find' option then decides to add a new place!

It will allow me to search my contacts to SIM card, but, being not the most skilled of the people, my contacts are not all on my SIM card.

If I go through the search icon on my desktop and search through contacts he will allow me to find them there, but I do not understand why my little contact has changed and how to reverse this trend?

The contacts are there when I go to the SMS of someone, but if I try to send a message via MMS (IE a picture), the same problem of contacts search is performed.

I'm not the most technologically minded people, but I really like this phone and I don't know what I did wrong!

If you can help in any way I would be really grateful.

    Thank you xx

  • BlackBerry Smartphones - help! I lost my contact list!

Hope someone can help me - I'm sure that the solution is simple but I just can't understand it.  When I click on my address book icon it shows * no address * where previously it displays my entire address list.  I know they are always there because if I go to address book options, it tells me I have 365 entries.  So, where are they?

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

You might have a filter applied to your list of contacts for which there is no entry. Click on the BBKey and select filter, make sure nothing is checked.

  • Birthdays of blackBerry Smartphones. better on the calendar or contacts list?

currently have bdays all recurring calendar entries. I am considering adding them instead, to the list of contacts for each person. can someone tell me what the difference is between the two? Does this affect synchronization w outlook 2007? It is tell you the age of the person on that either? That's what I want to do the most. would be nice to not have to do the math, lol

Looking at my birthday added in contact... it adds the birthday to the calendar as a "whole day event" and affects 15 min before default reminder. It has not been synchronized with Outlook, it does not affect other entries or the synchronization process. He did not give the age is also unfortunately

  • BlackBerry Z10 my contacts are acting weird! (dublicate and cannot delete contacts)

    Dear all,

Today, when I went to my contacts on the Blackberry Z10, I discovered that each contact was dublicated!

I tried to restart the phone, but I faced the same problem.

my phone is linked to Google Contacts, so I went to Google Contacts online and there, everything was fine.

So, I decided to delete my Google account and start again.

After you remove the Google account, I discovered that there are still contacts on my phone that were not deleted!

So, I've selected all the contacts and press DELETE... but they have not been removed.

I had to go and delete one by one.

After that I can find contacts 'empty '! just empty enteries with no data at all. I had to go and and delete as a.

  • Z10 blackBerry how to erase my contacts list?

During the synchronization of my new z10, I imported by mistake a lot of unwanted contacts from my outlook.

How do I remove from this list of contacts unit of my 10 z & leave?

    Hey Ashwin_ljantkar,

Welcome to the community of BlackBerry Support Forums.

    Thanks for the question.

The easiest way is to create a backup of your application Z10 BlackBerry via BlackBerry link (click the BlackBerry down and backup now).

Then do a security wipe by going to settings > Security > Security wipe.  Please note: this will delete all data off the BlackBerry Z10.

Or you can manually delete contacts one by one.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

    See you soon.

  • BlackBerry Z10 Z10 does not synchronize all the contacts

I got my Z10 yesterday of an iPhone and it's not sync all contacts with my Windows Live (Outlook.com) account.

I noticed that when I went to call someone and could not find their contact.  Talk about panic that I thought he was gone forever, possibly stored on my old camera locally and not synchronized with Live.  I logged Live and he was there.  I couldn't find an option to force a sync so I have disabled synchronization of contact who took ALL the contacts and then I turned back on it and they came back.  The contact that I needed was there.

Later, I went to call someone else and their contact was not there.  I started looking through my list and noticed that there are a few missing.  Turned contact sync and some come back, but then others are missing.  I did this about 5 times now and have not a list complete.

Anyone has any idea why?  Y at - it an option to make the Z10 save contacts on site?  I don't want to be dependent on the account that I connect it my contacts list.  I don't want to lose them if unlink an account.

My provider has refused to communicate with the BlackBerry® Technical Support Services and suggested that I use Gmail instead.  I am now using Gmail sync my contacts and using Live for email, calendar and reminders.

  • BlackBerry Z10 sync BB calendar and Contacts with Android

After 8 years as a BlackBerry user, I did reluctantly, the decision to move to an Android device. My calendar is wide, ranging from the years in the future, and my contact list has 800 and entries. I also teach notes, financial records, and a lot of information, I rely on every day in my Z10. All these things exist only on my BlackBerry. Is it possible to migrate everything to a Samsung device? I am particularly interested in my calendar and contacts, but wants to keep other information that has been collected over a period of years.

With a focus on software, rather than the devices and their interest in using the Blackberry Android OS, I think that I might as well make the change. I've been off contract several times, including now, waiting for BB to produce new phones. After reading 'Lose the Signal' I see why Verizon Business limited BB today. The choice of BB Phone high end users is rather limited on Verizon now, and with all in all I decided to pass. Can someone help me with my above needs? Thank you.

I was able to transfer my content using the application and methodology you suggested above. Thank you for your help and for the conversation. I wish you the best.

  • BlackBerry Z10 impossible access contacts or messages and the non-existent hub

I got a Z10 now and during the installation I noticed that if I clicked on the "contacts" or "text messages'icons are not." I thought when I transferred all the data from my old divide that would correct itself, but it does not.

None of my contacts or forwarded messages, and I Redid the transfer twice. My call log was transferred, but all entries are number only, no names. And I can't seem to be able to add these numbers to my contacts. I can't even enter the contacts and enter all my previous Info manually.

I have no hub blackberry either and I asked the people who are in the same room to send me messages but I don't get them. I tried to reboot the device several times but nothing moves. I seem to be able to BBM surveys send, but not receive them.

Seems that the only thing I can do is to make and receive calls and use the internet browser.

Can any ideas on how I fix? I will go back to the store I had the phone of the future, but really looking for some information at this time if possible.

    Thank you.

Hi G and welcome to the community of BlackBerry Support Forums!

Have you made software updates on your BlackBerry Z10? If this is not the case, there may be one available. You can do the update through the BlackBerry Link with your device, or by going to settings > software updates on the device itself.

    Thank you.

  • BlackBerry Z10 IMPORT/EXPORT of CONTACTS OF BBB FILES to VCF FILES OR TEXT

I got a blackberry Z10 (unlocked version) which was defective and he has been replaced by an other Z10 (also unlocked) blackberry. Because the OS versions are different, I can't restore my contacts from the old to the new. BlackBerry has said that this is due to the difference in OS versions. I downloaded the bb world app that import/export of contacts, but can import text or vcf files and not the bbb files.  I downloaded Extractor backup blackberry but was disappointed to see that BB 10 backups are not supported yet. Please I need help with my old transfer contacts from my old bb to my new bb z10 z10. I use a computer hp laptop 8 windows.

    Thank you

So I guess you never backed up your phone using BlackBerry Protect, or you did.

If you did, you can install your contacts from there.

If you do not, think to do for next time.

Read all of this page, there is not much to read: http://worldwide.blackberry.com/ap/protect/

If you have never enabled BB Protect you.  Go to: settings, BlackBerry Protect, marketing and you must also turn on location services.

  • Problem transfer contacts blackBerry to Blackberry Z10 software

I was very happy to head to the store today to upgrade my 9800 Torch to the new Z10 Blackberry. I downloaded the new Blackberry Link program on my laptop and selected the device switch option to transfer all my details, etc. between the two devices. I was devastated to see that none of the phone numbers in my contact list have been transferred. Apart from manual entry of all the phone numbers in my new phone is there a solution available for this problem? I found a forum on a third party site that says that all the contacts on the old phone must be associated with an email address in order for things to work but I have no idea how to do it. Details of transfer contact is probably the most important function a new user must fill. The fact that I have to turn to help on the day one forums suggests that he is a big enough show excessive share of Blackberry. I consider myself a loyal BlackBerry user and I'm about to throw my new phone out the window... I can't imagine what my mom or Dad would be thinking about it now. Help, please!

It seems that you might have had more than one address book on your old device, and information on the default address book could have moved on.

On the old device, can you watch them your Options > status > touch menu > Database sizes... you see more than on the database of the book address?
