Bleeding question

It is perhaps an obvious question, but I'm trying to understand the point of the bleed - is - to avoid to have white borders? Why don't you just stretch or crop the image at the edge of the document rather than allow more bleed?

The purpose of the purge must take into account the fact that no cutting or cutting die will hit the mark perfectly every time. With this print outside the intended cutting area margin, you won't wind upward with a Ribbon of the display when the knife is off by a little white.

  • InDesign CC 2014 marks and bleeds question

    Hi all

So I'll try to export this file InDesign to PDF with the usual crops/brands/bleeding that I always use, but for some reason, this time it does not work well. I have my settings from bleed a.125, my slug is 0, my images have been moved beyond the red line of harvest on the design file, but for some reason, crop marks are in outline in white area instead of inside the purge as they are supposed to be. Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong here? This announcement is due very soon so I would be very grateful for the quick responses!

    I don't know where you got the idea that 0p1.5 =.125 inch. There are 6 picas to the inch and 12 points to the pica, so 6 x 12 = 72. 72 / 8 = 9.

The black line you see in the ID on the gold is at the edge of the page, the red line is the guide to bleed. Not much space between...

  • Bleed the question for poster A1

    Hello world

I'm new to InDesign and have a question about the purge. I tried Googling but it just confused me.

I create a poster A1 for Selfridges, the background must be entirely the color of the yolks, Selfridges with no other background color. My question is what I need to add bleed? Or that cut the paper off the coast and leave a white border at the edge (which is what I really want to)?

    I use InDesign CC 2014.

Thank you very much for your help!

A document is physically large it does not mean that the purge should also be higher than normal. I utiliserais.25 inch or 6mm, just to be sure it was enough, but it is probably overkill.

  • Question about the bleeding and facing pages.

    Hello

I'm in trouble with my first InDesign document which is a 96-page Magazine. It will be printed on sheets A3 stapled in the middle. My impression of the guy said it's ok in the form of A4 pages with 3 mm overhang.

So now when I try to export in pdf print (I check the brand I want to use the documents of bleeding parameters) exports with the sections on the left and right pages (left page exported with? I guess than 3 mm? bleed from the right page and so on). If I replace the parameters bleeding and I set to 0mm it is all ok, but I fear that certain images or text could get cut because I have everything with the substantive benchmarks lost in indesign.

And I can't uncheck pages face to face since I have some graphs (graphs and so on) that spread from one page to another (on the same spread).

My question is... I can do and always use the bleeding or (ignore "inside the bleeding' or something) or is it OK to use the export as a spreadsheet instead of individual pages because he wanted pages A4?

Any help for a beginner would be appreciated. Thank you.

  • Question of prepress - marking bleeding

I work for a publishing house and recently asked a salesman again some files for a book printer fix funds lost in the gutter. The note I got was ' there is no bleeding in the gutter - bleeds should extend to 1/8 "beyond the plate. »

Now, there is no images of bleeding in the gutter (although racing head rules approach, and frankly its weird Designer does not bleed the in the gutter), and previous books in the series were presented without bleeding marked gutter - in fact, Acrobat to print specifications editor have no benchmarks printing to PDF files to the printer.

So my question is, plug purge of InDesign somehow are passed along to the PDF document without printing marks, and that's what the printer is to check on? Or maybe the printer has assumed the funky current titles are a mistake and are supposed to serve?

Or is there something I'm missing here in lost funds...

(Unfortunately, it is impossible for me to communicate with the seller. Theres a Publisher at the supplier and one or two people from production to the US publishing company. The problem is apparently solved since I added a spec internal bleed in Indesign, reoutput PDF files (with no cues) and cheap requested for all other files)

    Thanks for your help/thoughts!

  • Question on lighting to avoid bleeding with screen green-CS4

I have occasional problems with some substantive bleeding. Here is an example where you can see the flare through the region of the shoulder:

    BleedThru.JPG

I applied the matte choker, took the starter 1 to 0, and that's what I got:

    MatteChoker.JPG

Not a bad result and simple enough, although other color settings is possible. But I think the problem stems from how I am lighting of the subject. The subject is five feet from the green screen and the camera is five feet from the subject. The bottom is evenly lit, although not very bright, using 8 to 100 watt fluorescent lamps, and there is no significant hot spots.

I think that the bleeding comes from some lighting changes, I did:

    1. I moved the key and fill lights back slightly to try a softer glance (500 and 100 watts fluorescent respectively-no scrims). They came out too dark, requiring a Colorista adjustments, how I'll be back in.

    2. I changed the lights background of lamps in Bowl form of work to work cone shaped lights because Bowl-shaped lights were too bright, causing some important hot spots (also without grids). However, cone-shaped lamps do not cover entirely the bulbs as the Bowl-shaped those who did it, so the subject becomes some of this light as the bulbs spread a fraction beyond the edge of the cones.

So, if it's cone-shaped lamps, so maybe I can try to return to those Bowl-shaped and just use less lamps and play with the positioning to avoid hot spots. The only effect that I use is 1.2 Keylight in CS4. But I'm really not sure I think this through properly, so I'd appreciate some tips and suggestions.

    With our thanks,

    Paul

In General, there is almost always backwards onto your subject. (Especially with a very bright green like Rosco DigiComp). You can reduce it by draping black curtains around the areas that are not visible to the camera.  It is less a problem with flat wall against HLM screens you walk on that.

But as usual, Rick is quite correct. Your mast base simply is not strong enough. To get a really great base key, there are only a few things you need to mess with on Keylight: matte screen > clip back and white clip.

Switch to the display. mast set the two so that your talent is completely white on the inside and the green background is completely black.  You can also use view > a vision of this status (black is 100% transparent, white is 100% opaque and gray areas are translucent. Green areas also receive despill correction.)

And that's close enough to get a really good base key.

You can see Primatte 5 for After Effects. It's a more intuitive manipulator having a mode surprisingly good one-click 'auto calculate '. You can also draw on the screen to indicate which parts to keep and what key pieces out.

  • Light bleeding

Hello. My newly replaced z3 was the question on the sides where the gaps are visible. When I turned off the lights in my room, I notice that there are lights coming out of the gap. Located at the left and the right od my device. Is it a defect? I don't have that kind of slight bleeding on my second z3.

If I were you I would return my unit to place of purchase or visit a unit of retail with display units and check - if they are different, and you feel that your device is faulty then you need to return your device to the place of purchase or ask the Xperia and have it inspected http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/

  • Question of the NEX Time Lapse app with fashion bed and the rising of the Sun.

NOTE: this problem was first mentioned by me in the other thread about the app of time works do not (a thread "solved").  Wanted to separate this issue in its own thread so I hope this is seen and worked on...

NEW PROBLEM?  I starts with the NEX - 5R regular automatic mode 'Greens', start the application of time and run in mode 'Sunrise' .  I then begin firing sequence before the sun rises.  It takes about 40mins (I use all the parameters of "sunrise" by default) and when I check the results I see that the exhibition was "locked-in" with the first shot taken.  That means the video created in the device starts properly exposed, gets brighter as the Sun starts to come will then completely saturated white until I see clouds of beautiful Sunrise 'red '!

What is the way in which the mode of "Sunrise" is supposed to work?  I'm doing something wrong?  I think that with the changes in the brightness of the scene, the camera would be re-meter each image taken on not to bleed the scene as the sun rises.

    Everyone knows this too?

Moderator: you can report?  (BTW: the Sunset function does the opposite for me also: scene will just completely black too fast as the sun sets.)

    Thank you

    Mike

  • U2913WM backlight bleeding

    Hello

Ive got myself one of these 'affordable' ultra wide gems. They have really beautiful colors, sharpness, usability etc.  But until you have something really dark night on them = C.

Short background: Ive branch a week ago and found out that after the warm-up (say 2 hours), boring backlight bleed appears down right next to the buttons. Ive called Dell Support me am replacement, they mail send again and the next DAY same courier picks up an old.

Left monitor is NEW REPLACEMENT, everything is 'old', I bought the week.

    http://postimg.org/Gallery/dpxp93e/91f1a32f/

Apartment minor backlight bleed all around them (Yes, technology), they both weird 'feature' of the purge of backlight next to the buttons (bottom right), which will appear after good warm-up! And left a (replacement) is slightly visible even in Office work as dark-VisualStudio etc.
To comment on my pictures, it's difficult to take realistic pictures, IPS glow really take in the way here, I tried my best with the Nokia N8. However you will see in the movies dark night. Two low bleeding are caused by the bottom edge, in my humble OPINION preasuring show slightly inward. It spoils a bit otherwise nice monitors. And Yes both having beside yeach other even for a night makes you immunne against doubt if you chose a "too large", its awesome.
So my question is what do you think? I'm whiney?

TLDR: Left a replacement, right 'old of the week' a. What do you think?

    Edit: link

    g0r4k,

We do not test/measure our monitors in a dark room. We use standard office lighting. But, according to photos, it is within our specifications from manufacturer for difference in backlight.

  • Just unpacked my set of three U2713HM monitors and they suffer from horrible yellow backlight bleeding

I'm looking for help on some questions with my 3 new monitors Dell U2713HM. They all suffer bleeding strong backlight yellow in the low left corner. 2 monitors, you can also see a few on top/top right. If it was just normal white bleeding I could swallow, but this affects the image quality when the games, watching a movie or image display. It is also visible hatching effect on them, but that I'm not too concerned about. Even in bright transom, the purge and image change is observable. I have pictures of the problem as well in a dark room to show better on camera, as well as with a bright light to show that it is always present. I also have a copy of the image on the screen and used for the test. Please advise on the next step. It is a fairly expensive purchase and I can't settle for such a quality of image.

Tous3 are almost PERFECT! It's so awesome! I'm really excited. You have no idea how frustrated and crazy, I was when I opened first my original set and wanted to crush. This justifies my expenses and restore my faith in Dell. I have never owned all Dell monitors, but had always heard the best reviews on the Ultrasharp series. My first experience was full of disappointment, but things are on the right track now!

Thanks for taking care of me! You have definitely won yourself a new loyal customer. Thank you also for your Poorna the Customer Service representative who handled my case. She has done very well, convinced me to try a new game despite already purchsed one set of Asus 1440 p monitos. She took the time to listen and understand my concerns and the situation, she offered me a fair compensation and promised me that I will not be disappointed with my next batch. She mentioned that they would be personally tested for issues I mentioned. I don't know if this is the case, but in any event, she made a promise and you guys delivered. Now, I just need to redirect the old game and return the other monitors where I have been.

    Thank you!

  • General question about the themes...

Good day to all... A few Questions on the themes and my options for my app:

Im running 4.2.4 on XE currently... and Im using the 25 responsive Blue theme...

Some of my users are commenting that the application takes a bit of screen estate leaving less room for the actual data. They also comment that it's a bit boring!   (and for reference, they also use applications created using DevExpress by another development team... (https://demos.devexpress.com/RWA/SalesViewer/RevenueBySector.aspx) for an example...

So, I'm looking for options theme... If I look at the standard themes, I have 4 themes style HTML5 (23-26), which all use a lot of screen space (probably because they are designed with tablets in mind)...  But if I want to use a smaller style then Im left with just two styles a bit smaller (21 and 22). Who are both very close and very grey and bland... (let's call it company)...

I have also to search the Web and found very few themes available... There are a few sites, but nothing spectacular...  So on my questions:

Ive been told I should not use the existing themes, as are day a non-compliant with new browsers. However, some are very nice, and it's a shame, that they should not be used...

Did someone knows if they will become in the future, is it possible to migrate the? What are the implications of the use of one of the old legacy themes?

Version 5 will implement some new themes?

Are at - it somewhere that Ive missed all good themes 'out there'... ?

What other ways are there to customize the new themes... (and Im not a Web Designer and not a CSS expert either)?  Is there a generic method of simple method to change the topics without hours exploring CSS... (for example by changing the general theme to a more obvious color..) My thought is around 5 or six changes their that change the appearance / colors/style throughout the entire application etc...

Any other ideas or thoughts would be useful...

    Kind regards

As discussed in one of your previous threads, some 'legacy' themes are older than others. I wouldn't really classify a focus standards mode introduced in APEX 4.0 as "legacy", unless you need a complete support on mobile devices. As already said, I would like to avoid completely the themes of quirks mode 8, 10, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16, 18, 19 and 20.

No one knows if they will become in the future

Unlikely. A few fairly important bugs in original/first themes have never been fixed, so it is unlikely that Oracle will spend any effort to change them in the future.

is it possible to migrate their?

Regarding the themes inherited from 'real' quirks mode (marked with a ' * ' and listed above), my advice would be Don ' t bother. IMO, none of them are visually interesting enough to be worth the effort. Migration would imply:

    1. Adding a DOCTYPE HTML5 at all page templates to the trigger standards mode
    2. Validate the HTML code for all models
    3. Modify the HTML code to make it as standards compliant as possible
    4. Validate the CSS for all style sheets
    5. Edit the CSS to make it as standards compliant as possible
    6. The appearance test, dynamic behavior and accessibility in all required browsers
    7. Fixing of Visual rendering, dynamic behavior and accessibility (HTML, CSS and JS)
    8. Repeat 2 until levels required compliance to standards, rendering, dynamic behavior and accessibility are met.

    It's not trivial.

What are the implications of the use of one of the old legacy themes?

The themes 'true' legacy to be run in quirks mode, there will be problems with:

    • Lack of support for some features of APEX 4.x (for example, selectors of the region and interactive reports on the theme)
    • Incompatibility with jQuery waiting / requires the standard mode
    • Incompatibility with modern browsers and devices (pre - 4.x themes have been designed to be compatible with IE6 and equivalent browsers)
    • Incompatibility with modern HTML and CSS features due to running in quirks mode (there is a problem in Internet Explorer more than other browsers)
    • Accessibility issues
    • Difficulty overall customization appearance due to the incorporation of Visual elements (images and background colors) in table HTML layouts

Designed for Internet Explorer, the situation is much worse. Basically, there is no support for everything that didn't work in IE6 (for some values of 'work'). This means no CSS3, no support for many useful things from the CSS 2.1 (e.g. attribute selectors) specification and no support for the various elements and HTML attributes.

For the themes "inherited" standards mode, there will be fewer questions, probably mainly related to accessibility and support for non-bureau devices.

See also was content to change the Page size for a similar description.

Version 5 will implement some new themes?

    Yes.

Are at - it somewhere that Ive missed all good themes 'out there'... ?

Third party themes are available (usually for a price) from various places.

What other ways are there to customize the new themes... (and Im not a Web Designer and not a CSS expert either)?  Is there a generic method of simple method to change the topics without hours exploring CSS... (for example by changing the general theme to a more obvious color..)

Probably not. Especially for a novice not familiar with more advanced CSS techniques.

My thought is around 5 or six changes their that change the appearance / colors/style throughout the entire application etc...

This is likely to be amazingly difficult as the new themes make great use of the edge of CSS technical bleeding with several layers of rules to specify the appearance of a component. Heavy duty also includes CSS sprite images, which means that this customization requires editing of image as a substitute or changes to the CSS rules. See the following for examples:

  • How to prepare the PDF for printer when you print spreads with bleeding

I have created a 12 - page document that is willing to go to printer. The front and rear cover a bleed on it and not too sure how to prepare the file.

I sent unique pages with printer in the past harvest files so they can print as a booklet on their end, but this one is a little tricky because of the purge. I have been able to manually create a file of InD 11 x 17 and throw out and export that in PDF with crop marks, but something tells me that this is not the best way.

For this work, I send you the original InD file so the printer can do everything they need to do to make things, but I would like to know for future reference.

    Thank you in advance!

A 12-page document would print on 3 sheets of paper, so inside purge (on the back) probably won't be a problem, so you can set it to 0, or let the same thing that the bleed on the outer edges and let the tax to the printer software ignore it (assuming you let the printer do its work to impose). Send a PDF of 12 pages (with bleed) in consecutive order would be normal childbirth.

But still, when you have a question like this, you should call and ask what they want to the printer.

  • bleeding and square frames

Hello!  I hope that I can write my question clearly: my printer requires an inch 20 x 10.16 dotted with pouce.12 bleeding.  OK, got that.  I understand that bleeding is and what happens to the printer.  When I paint a box frame for a photo album on the page, I place it at the edge of the page and then make you the file of the image itself runs the purge, or should I put the box frame at the edge of the purge?  Let's say I want a series of photos of squares all the way through a spread to the edges of the page.  If I place the boxes in the frame all the way to the purge, do not appear images from both ends as rectangles in the final book?  Thanks for the tips!

    Jill

In the case of the images square across the page, you must make the required number of square frames go just at the edge of the page, then expand the edges of the image (and the images in them) that touch the edge of the page in the purge.
