  • Blue screen. Windows does not start. Even on Safe Mode!

When I turned on my laptop the windows logo and everything is in place. But then comes the black screen and ask the options to start windows normally, start in safe mode, ect. I chose to start normally, then a blue screen appears which says that the computer has shut down to prevent damage. He said that I had to disable all anitivirus and other things that I don't have to read. I tried every other selection as start in safe mode, start in safe mode with command prompt, in the other options, I get the same blue screen. I really need to get this problem fixed. I have no CD of installition XP, I have no CD of restoration, I have nothing to work with, so I just need to know a way around it.

There is no magical way around that without any installation disc. Most laptops come with a picture of factory restore on a special partition on the hard drive. The factory restore process is normally called by pressing a key of function (such as F11) to start the computer. There will be a message as to what function key press the screen when you start your computer. You can also consult the manual of your computer or the computer mftr.'s site, or contact technical support to learn how to restore your computer if you plant from each computer mftr. He does it differently - sometimes even between models.

These machines also generally have a utility to create physical recovery disks in case the hard drive needs to be replaced or the factory restore image is somewhat damaged. If you have not created the recovery image recovery physical and damaged disks, contact technical support of computer mftr. to order a set of recovery disks. It is normally very expensive, around $20-25.

Before you try to restore the computer, you must determine if the material is good. You can test yourself:

    http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Hardware_Tshoot

A good troubleshooting step is to start with a Linux Live CD. I like Knoppix, but there are others. This has two advantages: 1) if the system works, you can back up all the data that missed your last backup; and (2) with the machine running Linux allows to determine whether the problems are caused by software or hardware. If the machine is unbearably slow and/or Linux cannot run correctly, you know that the hardware is at fault. If the machine behaves perfectly under Linux, you know that the software (Windows) is at fault.

If the equipment is faulty, if you replace it or not depends of which component is bad and the age of the machine.

If the material is good (maybe Windows has been severely infected with a virus/malware and that's why he no longer starts for example), then perform a restore if you plant using any method has been provided by the computer laptop mftr.

If you can't do the work yourself (and there is no shame in admitting this isn't your cup of tea), take the machine to a professional computer repair shop (not your local equivalent of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad).

I just tried to turn on my computer and I got the black screen that gives you the choice to start in Windows XP or the Recovery Console, and when I click Start in Windows, it loads and then I get a quick death blue screen displays a down error code, and the computer restarts automatically. I'm sure that I don't not miscopy, I checked several times.  I tried to start in safe mode, but then I get a black screen with many codes (w-a-a-a-a-y-y-y a lot to copy down) and the computer restarts. Someone knows what to do? I have a lot of important files out there that I just can't lose. Thank you! Any help or advice is appreciated.

While this error can be caused by malware infection, it's commonly found when the RAM failed. In all cases, you want to go down the data files before you do anything else. Do this with one of the following methods:

1 remove the drive and put it in a box of USB drive or use a USB adapter. Attach it to a computer that is running a working XP/Vista/Windows7 installation. Use the work of Windows Explorer to copy the data to the hard drive of the system to the rescue and burn data on cd or dvd. I prefer not to do it if I know the drive is infected because he has a chance to infect your host system. In these cases, I use #2 below.

    2. you can start the target computer with a Bart PE (if you use XP) or a Linux live CD like Knoppix and retrieve the data in this way. General information about the use of Knoppix for this are:

You will need a computer with two cd records, one of which is an engraver of CD/DVD OR a USB thumb drive with sufficient capacity to store your data, OR an external hard drive formatted USB FAT32 (not NTFS) *. Download Knoppix .iso image file and create your bootable CD. If you do this in a previous (XP or Vista) operating system, you will need the third burning like Nero, Roxio or the free ImgBurn software (Windows 7 can burn .isos natively). Burn as an image, not in the form of data. Then boot with the CD that you created, and Knoppix will be able to see the files in Windows. If you use the USB key or an external hard disk, right-click on its icon (on the desktop) to get its properties and uncheck "read only". Then click on it to open it. Note that the mouse action by default in the window manager used by Knoppix (KDE) is a simple click to open instead of double-click traditional MS Windows. If you want to burn CD/DVDs, use the K3b program.

    * My understanding is that you can now write on NTFS from Linux partition. If you wish to do this, Google for instructions on the use of the NTFS driver.

    http://www.Knoppix.NET
    http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/ - Bart PE Builder

When you have your data safely, get hardware troubleshooting with the RAM before reinstalling Windows. There is no point in trying to install Windows if your material is not good.

  • Windows XP blue screen error message: 0 x 00000024

I keep my pc while it was running chkdsk (Yes, I know now that it was stupid) and since then couldn't make it past the above blue screen error message.

    Read the full error message: Stop: 0 x 00000024 (0x83160AB0, 0 x 0000102, 0 x 00190203, 0 x 00000000)

I have worked with F8, F12 and F2 Setup and managed to do it boot from the CD.  I put in the diagnosis CD and ran the diagnostics for blue screen and hard drive errors - all tests passed.

Then, I changed Setup to boot from the hard disk - but again received the blue screen.  Once back to the prompt, I tried running chkdsk/f and has received no indication of errors.  I tried chkdsk/f/r and can not access the recovery screen (it says it's an invalid order).  I tried to put it in C: > R and f: > R (F is my cd drive).

Help!  How can I get rid of this screen?

You damaged the Windows installation. If you have not saved the data on that hard drive, you may be able to get it back by using Linux Livecd such as Knoppix and copying data to an external hard drive. General information about the use of Knoppix for this are:

You will need a computer with two cd drives, which is a dvd/cd-rw OR a usb thumb drive with enough capacity to store your data, OR a usb/firewire external drive to FAT32 (not NTFS) *. To get the Knoppix, you need a computer with a fast Internet connection and software third engraving. Download Knoppix .iso image file and create your bootable cd. Then start with her and she will be able to see the files in Windows. If you use the USB key or an external hard disk, right-click on its icon (on the desktop) to get its properties and uncheck "read only". Then click on it to open it. • Need help recovering from a blue screen. I re from the installation discs on hand and not intend to save all data currently on the hard disk.

A number of months ago one of our computer got a virus and has gradually become unusable. He started as a kind of spyware, that obviously was not what it seemed. Now, we are to receive a blue screen every time we try to start the computer if I try in safe mode it brings me to the "Administrator" or "name of the wife." When I click on one of these he says it saves the parameters and then returns the same screen. I received what I believe to be the re installation of Dell discs, but now I don't know how to access. Thanks advance!

If you have a Dell recovery disk, put it in the optical drive and restart the computer. As the computer starts, press the F12 key and choose to boot from the optical drive. The restore disc will start and that you follow the instructions.

If you have a true Dell disk operating system, follow the steps above to boot from the disc of the operating system. Here are the links explaining how to do a fresh install of XP. Once your operating system is installed, you will then need to install the drivers for all your hardware. If you have received a genuine Dell OS disk you have too a disc called "Dell Resource CD". This CD has all of the drivers. Put in the drive, install the application, and then install the drivers that are found.

Don't forget to update XP Service Pack 3 and make all Windows updates. Update of the common as programs Adobe Reader, Java, Flash, etc. for the latest versions. Install a good antivirus like NOD32 (commercial), Avast or Avira (free versions available).

Hello, today I tried to connect to my friends wifi with my laptop, including wireless I use it for a month now and its impossible! Down right it shows only 2 blue screens without the World Cup, and he said "unidentified network"! I tried several solutions, I found online as 'install the protocols Internet 4 and 6', make sure that I have the ip auto get same restore point system and safe mode with network! Nothing works... my friend connects with his laptop and I can connect with my smartphone, except my laptop! I have windows vista... Please help me thanks

Go to: Control Panel, Manager of Devic, adapters to extend your network, click with the right button on your wireless network and click on uninstall.

Do not put a check in the box: remove the software driver for this device.

Restart your computer and Windows will install your wireless network.

If the problem persists, see if your computer manufacturer has an updated driver.

My MBP 2011 early all just stopped working yesterday, it worked very well without any problem of performance for the last 5 years, and then suddenly a blue screen (of death) and it has problems starting.
