Blurry screen on lower resolutions

I recently a ThinkPad T61p to work, and it's a great machine, but the native screen resolution is 1920 x 1200 which is too much for my eyes...

whenever I have change the resolution to a lower value, the screen becomes blurry!

I searched on the net but found nothing that could help, I updated the nvidia drivers, but who did not do much good either...

I noticed something, but... in the control panel nvidia, under view-> change flat screen scaling
"use my screen built larger scale" is dimmed out, when I tried to disable the scaling all together, the blurryness had disappeared, but now of course the screen fills not screen...

usually, there is a scaling option in the system bios so I rebooted and went into the bios but found nothing there either...

does anyone have the T61p with the same problem? No matter what known fix?

    Greetings!

    Thanks in advance!

    See you soon!

Could be a hardware failure on the laptop.

One thing to try as a test is to start from a 'live' as Ubuntu OS (for example), just start it DO NOT install it. See - http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop/try-ubuntu-before-you-install - for more details. This should hopefully allow you to see if the screen works well or not in another OS, if it looks OK in Ubuntu, then its less likely to be a hardware problem. But if the screen is still divided, then unfortunately, it could be a hardware failure.

Other things to try eventually (in no particular order):

    1. set to update your graphics card drivers to the latest compatible drivers available for your laptop, where they have been corrupted somehow.

2 - is still divided into 'safe mode' or is it OK to whom?

    3. If you look in Device Manager, it shows errors regarding the graphics/display/monitor card?

    4. There is this fixit - http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Windows_Display_Quality_Diagnostics/ - in the center of MS fixit who can be worth it. But I doubt it.

    5. If this just started recently, try a restore point for just before it occurred.

Assuming that you have already tried to change the screen resolution and depth etc color settings and then restore the default values, you need.

  • Satellite L40-17 t - how to get the mode full screen of low resolution?

    Nice day!

What should I do to get a resolution 800 x 600 mode full screen for Satellite L40-17 t?

You must remove the graphics driver and should only use a common Microsoft Windows driver that supports only the resolution 600 x 800 and 768 x 1024.

But I really don't understand why you want to use 600 x 800? Is the resolution 768 x 1024 high?

  • Games running in lower resolution on the desktop resolution does not fill the screen

I have a laptop HP ENVY 17 TS with NVIDIA GT 740 M and Intel 4600HD graphics drivers and running Windows 7. Whenever I want to change the resolution in games at a lower resolution on the desktop resolution, the game shrinks to its view, leaving the couple of inches black bars on the edges. For example, if my the desktop resolution is 1920 x 1080 and I want to start a game in 1600 x 900, the game does not fill the screen, instead, it leaves an amount of empty space on the edges of the screen.

In order to solve this problem, I tried the following steps:

I first tried to locate the view tab in the NVIDIA Control Panel in order to define the scale/stretch in "Full screen", but my version of NVIDIA CP isn't the view tab (my NVIDIA drivers are the latest version).

Then I discovered that I should do this in the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel. My Intel HD Graphics CP has an option named "Calibration" under display > display settings and it doesn't show the option to retain display scaling that is checked by default and does not change. Also, after searching the Internet I saw that some people suggested entering the 'advanced settings' and try to make changes. When I try to enter advanced settings, under view, it says 'this screen does not support advanced settings'.

After trying without success, I tried the update driver Intel via their website, hoping that it can fix the problem. I ran the small Intel application on their Web site that identifies my chipset and offers me the latest driver for this chipset. Web site told me that the driver is installed on my computer is 10.18.10.3304, and there is an update for what is 15.33.18.64.3496 (or 10.18.10.3496). So I downloaded the file, but when I tried to run, it gave me this error message: "the drivre being installed is not validated for this computer. You can get the correct driver from the manufacturer of the computer. Setup will now exit. "that makes no sense.

After trying the above steps, I'm not able to solve the problem, and I need help from someone who really knows how to solve this problem.

    Thank you.

    Solution (I hope)

    1. choose the properties of the graphic (logo Intel) option when you right click on the desktop

    2. go in view

    3. go through the resolutions on the 'Resolution' and change to this resolution (do not click Apply)

    4. for everyone to go to 'Scaling' at the bottom of the screen and change it to scale full screen (do not click Apply)

    5. Repeat until you get back to the higher resolution (that won't let you change the scale).

    6. quickly choose a few resolutions from the drop-down menu to make sure that they have changed their scale.

I had a problem with some resoultions changing the way they were, but which should solve most of the problems.

    Hi @TeeShirtArtist,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems with the help of the community!

I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question on your HP ENVY 15 - j002ex Notebook and questions with a new HD BrightView LED backlit (1920 x 1080) display panel with the lower resolution. I will try to update the graphics drivers.

Click the arrow next to display adapters to expand this category
Right click on graphic family and select Update driver software
Select search automatically for updated driver software.

The laptop must find and automatically install the updated driver
Once the installation is complete, restart your laptop.

If that doesn't help, here is a link to change the resolution, you may need to select the Advanced setting to ensure that your driver is used.

I recommend to restore the default BIOS settings. You could restore the BIOS with this document by selecting the reload the default BIOS settings.

A computer repair center should be able to fix this without any problem. The only thing might be if they have installed a bad Panel. The only way to know what are the Panel specifications, would be to get the part number of the new group.

I hope that it helps anything here.

    Thank you.

  • Why my photos on apple tv 4 these are low resolution?

I have a new shiny AppleTV 4... You know, the one which is most recent available. I have lots of photos on iCloud through Photos. When I put the screensaver on the AppleTV for my photos, some of them come in very low resolution. I'd say about half of them are horrible quality. The thing is that all these photos are hi res on the Photos taken.

    So, what gives?

More... Why AppleTV always displays the same pictures over and over again? I have a bunch of pictures, but only about 100 came at a meeting of chill.

Just guessing, but some of your photos may be just too big. ATV must be reduced to fit the screen of the TV 1920 x 1080, and he can't do an elegant job of their shrinkage.

There seems to be several complaints about the number of photos seen by the Photos app looks like a work in progress.

On your Mac, you can see the blurry pictures, until the photos have been uploaded completely icloud.

Did you put the pictures > iCloud preferences "Original download this Mac" or you use 'optimize Mac Storage. Hi Sammole,

Sinus a few days that I have too many Satellite P500. I must say that it s a very big book, I love it. The screen is really good and big and in my opinion the best option for games, videos and other multimedia stuff. In addition it s equipped of the fast processor and a graphics card, ideal for playing games.

All my games work well so I put t know what has happened to you. Make sure that the eco mode isn't active, this will slow down the performance.
Also make sure that the most recent display Toshiba driver is installed and the latest version of Microsoft DirectX.

  • Satellite P100-188: low resolution fonts and menus, game

    Hello

I have a P100-188 and fonts on the office and Internet icons display very well, however the fonts displayed in message boxes look terrible, looks like they are displayed in low resolution, you can see practically every pixel that make up the letters.

This is really visible with some games I've played, as UFO: Afterlight and supreme commander. The games look good, but the menus for the said games are terrible.

Nobody else this remark on their machines and is it current with windows and LCD screens?
This is my first laptop and my desktop computer is old and it uses a CRT monitor that do not show the same symptoms.

    Hello

Have you changed your display resolution or even use native resolution 1440 x 900?

AFAIK P100 has excellent 17.0 "TruBrite discovers Wide 16:10 color TFT display and the illustration is really fantastic. Because of that, I'm a little confused about your ad. To make it better to try to change the font size and enlarge the fonts.

  • Problems with low resolution games

    Hello, my name is GiZmO_themachineking.

I noticed that in Windows Vista (or maybe it's just my computer) that when I play a game with a lower resolution on my screen (1280 * 800), rather than the pixels 'stretch' to fill the screen, it is scaled down and centered in the Middle, with a black frame around it.

Of course, I can turn the resolution but my computer isn't very good and what makes the slow race game.

Anyone know how I can fix this error and force the pixels in a game to 'stretch' to fill the screen?

I think that on the only workaround for the problems of games would be to change the DPI for the fonts setting in your Control Panel/customization "fonts Size (DPI) adjustment." Mark L. Ferguson MS - MVP

  • Iconia W700: Gaming in low resolution

    Hello

I received my Iconia Tablet more than a week now, and I'm very happy with it. But I have a question. I would like to use the Tablet for the games, but the games I want to play are a little old skool. For example, I like to play games such as Planescape Torment, which I just recently worked on the Iconia. The only 'problem' is that it is in a resolution of 640 x 480, which is very little for the IPS the Iconia HD slab. So I was wondering if it is possible to damage the screen or graphics chipset or whatever it is playing games with low resolution on this matter for an extended period of time. The main reason I'm asking is that while fiddling around on the Tablet when trying to get the work of Planescape, I was browsing in the graphics of the intel HD 4000 settings around and came across "Custom Resolutions", when I clicked on that I received a warning that the custom resolutions are not supported and they could potentially damage the chipset when it is used incorrectly. I basically want to know so, given that 640 x 480 is not listed among the standard resolutions, the screen can handle this then be considered a custom resolution that could potentially damage anything, while playing?

In addition, if there is someone out there who got the Bigg Widescreen mod for planescape working on the W700, let me know what resolution you are using! The best I'm come up with so far was 1280 x 720, and who uses the entire screen...

Thank you very much for any help you can give me!

It should not bad system at all to be in 640 x 480, but it probably won't look too good.

Where everything is enlarged. I change all the settings, this happened to me I connect in my user on my laptop (vista home prem 64 bit). I tried to change the resolution, which does not help, it's a whole little bit better, but it still doesn't look good. I don't know what went wrong or how to fix it.

    Change the screen resolution

Screen resolution refers to the clarity of the text and images on your screen. At higher resolutions, items appear sharper. They appear also smaller, so more items adapted to the screen. At lower resolutions, fewer items adapted to the screen, but they are larger and easier to see. At very low resolutions, however, images may have serrated edges.

  • UP2715k flicker at lower resolutions

    Hi all

I recently bought a Dell UP2715K monitor. I have it plugged into a card ATI over-pants v5100 double connections DP1.2. The monitor works well at 5 k resolutions, and I had minor problems in this mode of resolution.

However when I try to use the monitor to the other resolutions, I tend to do screen flickering across from time to time. Currently, the monitor is in 2560x1440@60Hz resolution for several hours. The glitter is quite randomly in nature. Even in the hours between a twinkle, sometimes get flickers of 5-6 minutes.

I tried completely to turn the monitor off and remove all power to the monitor for several minutes, then allowing the monitor to operate in a normal state for at least an hour to reduce "stray voltage". He advised in a position of 'Common problems' Dell.

Anyone have any ideas on how to minimize this? The screen is still relatively new, it is potentially a normal running-in behavior that will go away with time? Or am I'm having problems, leaving the two DP1.2 ports plugged while working temporarily at lower resolutions?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

I downgraded pilots since the latest ATI 15.102 drivers to version 14.502 and my flickering issue disappeared. I had to install a driver known for Windows 8.1 even if I'm running Windows 10 but the screen it seems to work reliably now in this lower resolution mode.
