Bookmark Toolbar Icons
I installed Firefox on a Toshiba still 2 10 '' tablet running Windows 8.1.
The bookmarks bar is visible but not all icons. Icons and details are saw in the Bookmarks Manager.
Is there a solution for this?
Concerning
Mike
For the bookmarks display on your bookmarks bar, a feature called "Bookmarks toolbar icons" should be this toolbar. By default, it is the bookmarks toolbar, but can be deleted by accident. To see if you have it in your toolbar, you must go to your customization page:
- Enter topic: Customizing in your address bar and press ENTER.
- Reach
> Customize
If it is not on the toolbar customization page, you will need to click on, and then drag it to here. Leave your customization page after doing it and see if your bookmarks are displayed.

Remove bookmarks toolbar icons?
In the old version of Firefox I was using, it was easy to choose from 3 options for the bookmarks toolbar. display icons only, only the display names, display names and icons.
I chose to display names only because it saves space.
I downloaded the latest version of Firefox, and now it seems impossible to remove bookmarks toolbar icons. (Others have asked about this, but the answers were unnecessary).
I reinstalled an old version of Firefox and still I can't get rid of the icons.
Please help me to get rid of the icons in the bookmarks toolbar!
Thank you!

I now have my Bookmarks Toolbar looking how I like it.
You are welcome.

I did rather like the rounded tabs rather than square tabs - can I have my cake and eat it too?
- Open the modules (Ctrl + Shift + A Manager; Mac: Command + shift + A), then the Extensions category.
- Beside the classical restaurant theme, click on the Options button.
- On the Home tab, in the upper left corner, choose "Tabs (default Australis) curve", or "Curve tabs (alternative)" or "curve tabs (alternative Aero).

Also, I'm not sure if I like tabs on very top or not... but cannot find a way to toggle that option. Possible?
In classic options window Restorer theme mentioned above, in the upper left corner of the main tab, choose between ' tabs not on "or"tabs on top (default).

I prefer a clean workspace in my browser, I'm looking to get rid of the icons in the bookmarks toolbar. I've been using the bookmarks-Deiconizer (version 2.3) and it works pretty well. When I open Firefox for the first time, but also new windows, icons do not appear, do the arrows down, and it's great.
However, every time I download a file as a PDF file, icons appear and will disappear only after that I closed ALL my windows open or restart Firefox. This is problematic for me because I often work with lots of PDF files and do not want to have to close all windows to get back my own work space.
Y at - it sort of coding I can do instead to remove the icons? I visited this thread (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/792988), but unfortunately I can't seem to locate the file "userChrome.css". I think that the coding of Firefox may have changed since then, but I'm not very tech savvy, so I could be wrong.
Thanks for the help.
userChrome.css and this file must be located inside the \chrome\ does not exist until the user creates this file and this file in the folder of their profile.
http://antennasoft.NET/robcee/2012/04/20/bookmarks-deiconizer-userChrome-Edition/
If you install this extension - ChromEdit Plus the necessary file and the folder will be created for you, and you will be able to add and modify preferences for the 3 'user' files in Firefox.

Bookmarks toolbar - icons of site were published in FF4 - how to remove icons?
I can find the option to turn off all the toolbar icons, BUT specifically Web site icons appeared in V4 in the bookmarks toolbar.
It's annoying as the icons take up much space - I can fit only half as Favorites toolbar.
How can I turn off the icons of bookmarks toolbar Web site?

You have the roomy Bookmarks Toolbar extension?

Bookmarks toolbar icon minimize after 1600px resolution due to the address bar, why?
That's how my favorites looks like Ctrl + Shift + B
http://prohardver.Hu/DL/UPC/2013-07/122010_4304.PNGThis is what it looks like to 1650 + widescreen.
http://i.imgur.com/DGrwLEC.PNGThis is what happens when the size of the screen reaches 1600px ~.
http://i.imgur.com/hziXVBF.PNGIt is a problem with my laptop with large screen of 1366px. And it was good until last year when I've upgraded to a new Firefox every night a few months ago, and this problem occurred.
And the cause of this problem is the address bar, if I removed it the icon has not disappeared (minimize)
Tried to change the width of the address bar, but nothing helped. What can I do else? Only this folder of bookmarks disappear, all other icons of stays...Reset firefox it's a hilarious response. Please stop suggesting such a thing, when it's not neccessery. Since I have not had a response, deleted a few files and the localstore.rdf came out to be the problem, deleted icons and rearranged, again, now it works very well.
Your solution is dumb as hell, why the hell I start all process (with 30 extensions etc.) during the Setup and can be ended with the same bug?
I can't give a lot less for your 'solution' but you should go to the corner and think about what you wrote!
If I wanted to hear a stupid thing like that I would call a stupid to get answers support center "have you tried to turn it off and on again?" ...
I'm really upset and angry about this, it was the first and the last, I tried to get responses here, I thought it's a smart/good support site, I was wrong.

The fix should be simple, but I can't. Help is appreciated.
Probably not. There are a lot of tab on the extensions that can deflect a link that will open in the current tab in a new tab, but I do not know if opening links in a new window is supported by extensions such as Tab Mix Plus.

My bookmark toolbar icons are constantly changing, and it was made worse lately. Gmail appeared to be the first, but now much more change. I remove titles for them so I can put many of them on the toolbar, so it is really important. After that I click on one of these stray icons, they will sometimes recover, in Gmail, for example, after signing in. Other times, that they do not.
Try to restore with this extension:

Roomy Bookmarks Toolbar Favicons
I use spacious bookmark Favicons and some elements are missing favicons
so I want to provide image JPG/PNG etc missing favicons.
What is the best way to bind a file JPG/PNG local with favourite favicon/bookmark toolbar icon
Change bookmark icon, I posted in my first answer, certainly works for me with roomy Bookmarks Toolbar - see image below.
Everything I've done for the image below, has been with the right button on a bookmark in the roomy bookmarks toolbar.
If it doesn't work for you, maybe you have a contradictory add-on:
- Firefox Safe mode allows to find a problem with an Extension or a Plugin:
- Do not check whatever entering in Safe Mode, just continue
- If the problem does not occur in Mode without fail, it's probably an Extension or a Plugin at the origin of the problem

Previously, the name of the link and the icon icon was visible in the bookmarks toolbar. I did something to cause the name disappear and cannot find a way to get it back.
The only visible, at least I have the cursor on the icon, the icon itself.Hmm, I can't imagine an integrated way to display only the icons. Is it possible that one of your modules has changed the display style? You have "Roomy Bookmarks Toolbar"?
You can view your extensions on the addons page and when they have an Options button, change their behavior. Or turn them off. I suggest starting your investigation with those:
Open the page modules using either:
- CTRL + SHIFT + a
- "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Something seems relevant to the bookmarks toolbar?

Impossible to set the bookmarks bar icon in the toolbar in Firefox beta 29
Hi, in the new beta version of Firefox 29, I can only put the pair of Favorites icons in the toolbar: the star to bookmark this page and the small menu icon to open the bookmarks menu. But I want to be able to have the bookmarks directly bar icon as if I had before (which opens with Ctrl + B).
Any chance to do it now? I can't find the Live Bookmarks Sidebar icon in the Customize menu.
Thank you!
You can install the extension Classic theme restaurateur to restore some of the features that has been lost with the arrival of Australis.

Where does get the icon in a Firefox bookmark toolbar entry?
Some entries in the bookmarks toolbar have icons associated with them.
They come from the Web site referenced in the part of the location of the properties of the entry?
I want to know why some sites HAV icons and others not.Thank you
BoilermakerBoilermaker Hello, yes firefox gets these "favicons" from the sites in question, when they provided an icon in their source code: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Favicon

Or how display only icons on the personal bar?
Or how to make broader personal bar up and down? You can have multiple row Bookmarks Toolbar or icons with this add-on:
- After installation (restart Firefox if requested), set your options: Modules > Extensions > roomy Bookmarks Toolbar > Options

I can't get the bookmarks toolbar to display only icons, not the words.
Before I updated to the new firefox I saw all my favorites because they were only small icons, now he wants to show that and the name of the site. I tried to 'customize' and everything all about but I can not understand how to change it back.
If you were using Firefox 3.6 with the add-on of Smart Bookmarks Bar ( https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/smart-bookmarks-bar/ ), that the module has not been updated by its developer past Firefox 3.6.
Take a look at what follows as a replacement:

I'm trying to get the bookmark icon in my toolbar to the right of the icon of the House. Then, right-click on the toolbar and then click Customize the icon in the toolbar. As soon as I close the pop of toolbar Customize the icon on my toolbar disappears. How can I get the Favorites icon to stay on my toolbar to the right of the icon of the House?
Two things can cause the Bookmarks button to "disappear" from the Navigation bar when the customization mode is closed.
1. the Menu bar - with File, Edit, View, etc. - shows.
Since you have checked the answer first of cor-el solve your problem, I have not exposed on this point.2. the bookmarks toolbar shows, and this button is this toolbar.
Is the Menu bar showing or not?
Have you tried the reset bar of tools and commands that I mentioned?
