Books corrupt in iBooks

G ' Day,.

Today, I bought and downloaded 5 books.  I then synced them on my iPad.

When I open them on the iPad, I get a cover page and pages aside then white.  When I open them in iBooks on my iMac, I get the message: "cannot open this book. The book is damaged. »

I deleted the books and re-uploaded.  Made no difference.

What should I do next?

Chamois

Polish salvation,

I understand that, despite having re-downloaded books concerned, you are not able to read the books you bought in iBooks on your Mac or on your iPad. In such a situation, the next step would be to report the problem to the people in the iTunes Store, such as described in the page linked below.

  • How to print (or export) a list of the books in the iBooks?

I don't want to print the books themselves, just a list of all the books I own. I would rather print the list directly from iBooks, but it would also work to export the list of numbers or pages and print it from there. I can never remember what I have a lot of books. I even bought the same book twice.

    Hey, Krasna.

Thank you for using communities Support from Apple. Purchases of information tells me that you are eager to find out how you can keep track of your iBooks. I have lots of iBooks myself, so I certainly understand wanting to keep track of them all - I'd be happy to help you!

While it is not a way to export a list of all your books in the iBooks app, you can see all your books within the application itself. On a Mac, you have several options for viewing your iBooks, all listed through the top center of the application.

    1. Under the books section, you will see all your books and their covers. A cloud in the upper right corner icon means that you bought the book, but it is not downloaded to your device.

    2. Under the Collections section, you will have the option to search through all the purchases of your iBook as well as of different categories such as books, files, PDF and the current (which shows iBooks you are currently reading).

    3. The authors section allows you to see all your iBooks, sorting by author.

    4. The Categories section lists all your iBooks by category, for example, Action & adventure, Fantasy or Biographies.

    5. Finally, the section of list displays all your iBooks, in alphabetical order, in a list. You also be able to see the title, author, category, collection, read last date, date added, size, and that he has downloaded on your device, or even in the cloud. This is probably the view you'd be more interested in keeping track of what iBooks you already own.

You can take screenshots of the list of books you have and you can print if you want a printed list of the books you own. You can find out how to take a screenshot here:

  • is it possible to print a list of the books in the iBooks library

I have a very large library in iBooks and you want to print a "catalogue" of these books. Anyone know how this can be done?

    Hello

Yes it is possible, use the export list file.app of Mac App Store.

But after exporting to Excel, you must manually change the titles of books.

First create a destination folder in the Finder, iBooks or something like that.

    Advance adjustment:

Then click choose a folder in the window of export of the list of files updated.

Go to ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.BKAgentService/Data/Documents/iBooks/Books and click Select.

    Then save in Excel.

    Record in the destination folder.

    The Excel file opens immediately.

Now you can manually edit the titles of books.

  • Why the description of the book went into iBooks since the new update?

IM trying to buy a new book and there is no description in the iBook store!

I just found that too! What gives apple? Are we supposed to, as the saying goes, begin to judge books by their cover purely? Someone please fix it

  • Has anyone ever bought a book on the iBook store?

I think the publication of my book on iTunes or iBooks and I'm a little confused by the two, so I'll try to figure out who, if either, is worth and how to on this subject.  I'm starting to wonder if it's worth selling on either.  The lack of presence in this community makes me wonder even more...

Have you ever experienced the FAQ?

    http://www.Apple.com/iTunes/working-iTunes/sell-content/books/book-FAQ.html

Normally people only post in the community when they need technical assistance in the presentation of their books in the iBookstore or using the iBooks author and other applications of composition.   If the traffic here is not necessarily to say much about the number of authors using Apple store or their happiness with the results of the sale.

  • I bought an E-book in the iBook Store and want to read on my Sony ereader

Hi, I bought an ebook in the iBook Store. I want to read on my Sony ereader. Is this possible? How?

If I had bought with BOL.com, I can put it on my Sony as well as on my iPad.

    How can help me?

    Greetings

    Hans Weijts

I don't think anyone can help you.  It tells you about each purchase page in the iBookstore which devices are needed, and Sony is not among them.  You buy your books for this ereader.

Books that you buy from Sony can be read on the iPad using the Sony ereader app.  Why Apple never did application iBooks for Sony or any other device not Apple is a mystery.

  • Series of books on the iBook Store

    Hello

I have the name of the series for ten books on iTunes of the producer files but my books do not appear in the form of a series on the iBook Store, or in my iBook library.

Some books by other authors are displayed as series without any problem.

Any ideas other than the call for support?

    Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Solved. One option is to make a call to the support team so that they will look at the books.

  • Download Books epub synched in iBooks

I love being able to sync my own books packed with iBooks epub, I can easily share my books between my multiple devices.  I create books epub for the things that I'm referencing or past newspapers and want them on multiple devices, so this works great.  I used to keep my icloud, yes I know that these two used my iCloud storage space and I then have to transfer iBooks to open it.  It is wonderful to be able to have everything in iBooks and sorted.  The problem is then how I then down the file on my computer to be updated no later than the time when necessary.  I checked my iCloud drive on my Mac and there is not a folder iBooks and iBooks do not have an export or save option.

Is it possible to do this easily?

Drag the iBooks file in your mac to a folder, and it will create a copy of your book. Delete it all, update the epub and add it back to ibooks

  • When and where is my book on iBooks or another apple store?

  • iBooks: opening book shows window without content

When I open a book of the iBooks Library window, after the opening of the book animation I just get a transparent surface on the screen were the book should be, see the image below.

This seems to happen to all the books, including any recently re-uploaded. As well as at the opening of the books directly from the finder. A PDF file in the library seems to open in 'Preview' without problem.

This problem did not exist before the upgrade to Sierra.

Problem has been isolated to the use of the Web NVIDIA driver - switching back to the default graphics Mac OS driver solves the problem.

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

I see that when you open a book in iBooks library window, you see a transparent area on the screen where the iBook should be. What happens to all the books, and it is a new show since the upgrade to Sierra. I certainly know that it is important to be able to access all your iBooks on your iMac, I read a lot of things on my own. Let's see how I can help with that.

First of all, please leave iBooks and restart your Mac. Once you have restarted, open iBooks and see if you get the same result.

If you still have a problem after reboot, please use the following article to create a new user on your Mac and test this issue here: How to test a problem in another user on your Mac account.

In a new user test can help circumvent the problem of your main account to the whole system.

  • iOS 10 and iBook. Can someone help me change my iBook to actually resemble a book reading?

Hello, I am looking for help for iBooks and iOS 10.  Before iOS 10 I could read my iBook in landscape and actually looked like a book I would read if I bought it, but now if I read a book and a landscape I'm not seeing that more in iBooks, now that I'm in class place my iPad iOS 10. Can someone help me?

    Thank you Chrissy

    Hi Chrissyy2008,

I understand that when read your ebook in iBooks for iOS 10 reviews landscape you're used to seem a little different in the version update of iBooks. With the updates and upgrades will come from small changes in the way in which your apps to display its contents. If you are still able to read the book through view of landscape, this we know that the application works as expected. You can try to adjust the appearance of the iBooks app to have it look exactly as you wish during playback in landscape mode.

Change the appearance of your books

You can adjust some features of some ePub books or some books created with iBooks author, including:
Size of the font. Choose from the included fonts. For the moment, cannot install and use custom fonts.
Text color and the background. In iBooks 4.0 or later, you can use three themes: white, sepia and night. (Select option at night to read books in the dark.) Turn on the Auto-nuit theme to automatically switch to the theme of the night in low light.
Scrolling. In iBooks 3.2 or later, you can use the view to scroll to read your books in a continuous vertical scrolling instead of turning pages. This feature is available in any theme.
Share ideas with friends. In iBooks for iOS 3.0 or later and in iBooks for Mac, you can share the highlights and the selections on Facebook, Twitter, Messages or Mail (United States only).
You cannot change the appearance of the PDF documents or audio books.
Not all of these features work with EPUB files created with improved author or some other ePub iBooks.

You can find this useful link to learn all the features of iOS 10 iBooks app. On iBooks

Please use the Apple Support communities to post your question. I hope you enjoy your shiny new iOS and more importantly, read ebooks in your iBooks app!

    Have a great day.

  • iBooks books & PDF documents not display/sync with iTunes

I'm under iBooks 1.5 and iTunes 12.3.3.17 on MacOS 10.11.4 (which should be the latest updates of all the software and OS). I noticed that when I try to load a PDF file or books stored in iBooks on a device (iPhone6 more and iPad2) that many of my books and all my PDF files are missing from iTunes, sync to device window. Effectively, this means that I can not load PDF or ePub on my devices content. Has anyone else noticed a similar problem?

I have about 90 PDF stored in iBooks, but when I search for them in iTunes it appears zero (see screenshot).

Similarly, I noticed several ePub books have disappeared, some are in Collections, some are not.

I've not seen this error before (IE; "I was always able to locate PDF files and books through iTunes to synchronize with my devices).

Someone at - it ideas? This is made useless iBooks.

Try to go to System Preferences and then in the iCloud settings. From there, go to options to readers in the iCloud and uncheck iBooks.app.

It seems that apple doesn't support not use iCloud Drive to synce no ibooks bought books.

Edit: Just checked again, and the problem persists with PDF files, even if the non-ibooks purchased ebooks reappear...

  • Sync ibooks on my Mac books

I have books on my ibook app on my phone that I downloaded from different sites and I can't put them on my Mac ibook or in iTunes. Is there a way to remove my ibook app iPhone and put them on my Mac?

If they are not on iTunes store purchases, you should (it's always worked for me for PDF and EPUB files) be able to copy their course to your computer via file iTunes library > devices > transfer purchases and then the app iBooks on your Mac file > move the books from iTunes to move in.
