  • Slow performance when many small images displaying

    Hey!

    I'm working on a Flex Mobile game. It uses a grid of 2D game and I try to display tiles in the cells. There are 3 different images are used: one for the walls, a floor and one for the character.

    I view these images in the following way:

    I have a band with an id (displayGroup), I then create an array of new Image() with the position that they should be placed in and the image that they should use.

    Then I bang on the table and add the images individually as an element in the group.

    In the code, it looks like this:

    var temparray:Array = disp.drawMapGfx(map, hero)
    for each (var img:Image in temparray)
    {
        displayGroup.addElement(img);
    }

    Now the problem appears when I move.

    What I'm doing now is the following:

    var numImages:int = displayGroup.numElements-1;

    var temparray:Array = disp.drawMapGfx(map, hero)
    for each (var img:Image in temparray)
    {
        displayGroup.addElement(img);
    }

    for(var i:int = numImages; i >= 1; i--)
    {
        displayGroup.removeElementAt(i);
    }

    I first enter the total number of images in the group. Then I add the updated images that take the new position into account, and then I delete all obsolete images of the group. I'm going to 1 instead of 0, because the element 1 is a rect that creates the background color.

    For the test, I was using "run as iPhone 3 GS. Each image is 50 x 30, which, in view of the user interface is equivalent to 11 x 17 images + 1 for the character. Therefore the display up to a maximum of 188 images.

    The problem is images sparkle as the old pictures disappear and new images appear. What can I do to have it redraw the screen more quickly, in order to avoid flickering?

    It would be logical, rather than redraw every image, simply move the entire scene and just load / remove images if necessary, rather than reload images?

    And a small second question: is it possible to share a mobile app in a single AIR file, so that I can be ready for office friends who don't have smartphones help test it on their computer?

    What is the world altogether?

    Theoretically, you can load all over the world to start and use a mask to show only the relevant part of the world. With each movement of the character, move the mask to the next section.

  • How to make a large texture file from a .png file small?

    Hello: Level: intermediate/new > OS: Windows 7 64-bit > Ps: Cs6

    I learned about Textures and I was playing with different and so, I came across a great site with a lot of Texture files for download... http://subtlepatterns.com/paper-1/

    Well, the files are small for example: 38 x 38 and 76 x 76 and I have no idea how to create a larger image with these small images. In addition, they are in .png format... so what counts.

    What I read a Texture is a model... right? So, I searched the FAQ, manual, etc. for things like: how to make a great model, how to use a small file to a large model and so forth but I can't find the right info.

    Am I suppose to only be used to create a model of repetition? Can I do and make them be transparent?

    Just thought I would ask for help while I continue my quest for answers.

    In the meantime, I'm heading to the manual to learn more about the making of the bosses.

    Thank you for your time

  • Is there a limit to how many images Microsoft will allow me to have?

    My OS is Windows 7 Home Premium.

    I'm sorry that still is not quite logical (or I am being stupid). Even with a backup 3rd party tool, you can have as many images you can store, but always as a single computer running. Even if you did a 100 images when you do the 101st the program does not know how many of the previous 100 still exists.

    Right now, we use these two licenses for our current subscription of CC. I just need one more, but Adobe would force me to get a membership share whole for a total of 4 licenses and double the price. I noticed that the small business plan is $ 70 per month and I wonder how many licenses it is equipped. Thank you

    Hello

    The plan that you're talking about $ 70 per month is for 1 license creative cloud for teams.

  • How to I resize a larger image 72 DPI to the smaller image quality but of good size stick in the brochure

    Hi, I'm trying to resize a larger image from wide 16 cm saved at 72 dpi for a smaller image of wide from 5 cm to quality for the prompt for an art show I'm having. I think there a lot of information on the picture therefore it is great, I just want it condensed into a smaller image. If I adjust the size of 5 cm wide, it changes the dpi to 230 which would be better for printing (the 72 dpi is much too grainy). However when I stick it in the flyer that I do in photoshop it sticks like a massive picture. I then tried to drag the corners to make the right size and it became even longer than a 5cm wide 72 dpi image. I hope that makes sense for a person. So basically I need a large document size of 5cm that I can put in my small circular which is the best quality that I can do! Thanks in advance!

    What the PPI is the file that you are trying to drag in?

    You are able to view your office showing the two files... ?

    If you convert 16 cm/72 DPI image in the image of 5 cm/240ppi and then save. Then check the ppi with the flyer. If the flyer is still important with a low resolution will give you the cross between them so the magnified image of the ppi is displayed in big on the flyer paper.

  • How many frames per minute?

    It is question of another debutant - I have played with a couple of Premier Pro tutorials, but have not yet made my own video.

    I plan a video that would be mostly static images, illustrating the audio file. I guess you could think that this is a slideshow that I would try to look a little more interesting.

    A way to make it more interesting would be to introduce a small movement. Rather than simply Image A passage in the first image to Image B of five pictures later, I could slide Image A slightly to the right in the third frame or perhaps display Image A and B Image superimposed on each other in the third frame.

    To get an idea of how many "hits" still, I have to create, how many images would be included in a typical minute video? To put it another way, imagine if I wanted to create an animation of a minute, with a series of images constantly moving from left to right, then back to the left. How many images would I need to create to illustrate this video (assuming I want to avoid a jerky picture movement too little).

    It is not about how framework there are total, unless you really do animation is complete. We can do a little with scaling an image, using which has often called the "Ken Burns" technique when you start either zoom in or zoom on again, then pan or zoom top. Mix with still images you simply 'hold' for say 3 seconds, then your forests of normal video clips, titles, it works pretty decently.

  • How many people use iPhone (6 +) not as the phone but just large Tablet?

    I've seen several articles on simplifying people: carrying phones 'fool' or 'function' (shells) for daily life and make calls and using their iPhones as big as, simply, tablets. Don't plan no data, no pockets filled while outside, no worry about breakage, no constant interruption of messages, no constant distraction with applications: more directly in touch with the outside world and no $data plan$ (with the exception of the home wi-fi,...).

    I've been thinking it myself.

    How many people in the Apple community after this practice? A growing number of (niche)?

    (I'm ready for this question should be deleted if inappropriate...)

    Polls get deleted.

    However, I'm also not really how know how many other people that you would help.

    If you do not already have an iPhone 6 + / 6 s +, I'd watch it on the Apple Store. Play with him. Personally, I think that it is too small to make an effective pill. Even without a data plan, it is still fragile. And instead of carrying just an iPhone 6 +, you're carrying a dumb phone and an iPhone 6 +.

    How distracted or interrupted, you are by messages or apps is entirely in your control with an active iPhone. Do not disturb is very useful.

  • Is the monitor of imagery needed on the taskbar if you do not print? How many...

    I have checked old solutions here and do not have quite the same issue, I would like to ask.

    I have the Solution Center on the old pc with XP. Works well, thank you, and several resources always help the XP'. I also have a HP with 8. How many resources it takes and don't forget that it is a netbook pc which tend to be more slow start. All I could eliminate might help.

    Hi @jnepoore,

    Now, I'm not 100% certain, but I'm sure that the digital imaging monitor is not necessary. However it helps maintain a constant communication between the printer and the software. Take a look at what I found:

    Posted by rnfolsom

    Picardjc wrote that "Digital imaging monitor is part of the HP software that communicates with your HP printer. This program allows to read the ink levels, get an out of paper message, scan from the device to the computer and so on. Its not necessary, but it will limit the use of printers if you delete. "Understood. But for my printer HP Officejet Pro 8000 A809a, what is the purpose of having the digital imaging monitor icon in the taskbar Windows7 sp1 of the Notification area (aka system tray)? My A809a is NOT an all-in-one that includes a scanner; It is simply a very good printer. When I start to print something, if you need ink or paper, that information is displayed on the screen of my computer. So I ask again: why is the icon of monitor digital imaging on the taskbar? I clicked on at the time of this icon (I not print anything, but as usual, the printer is turned on), and nothing happened. R.N. (Roger) Folsom

    P.S., Below I'll post some other discussions (with links to their locations) of the digital imaging monitor, I discovered before finding this site on which I am writing. There are a variety of opinions on what makes the digital imaging monitor. HP Digital Imaging Monitor is for HP director system tray access. This is necessary if you want to use the buttons of all-in-one on a HP printer all in one to scan documents or transfer photos from a camera manually. Closing the icon monitor HP digital imaging in the Windows system tray can cause the HP all-in-one to lose part of its scanning features and not the connection error message. In this case, you can restore all functionality by restarting the computer or by starting the HP digital imaging monitor. Re: WITHDRAWAL HP Digital Imaging Monitor Systray? [Edited] 03/08/2011 14:05 - edited? 03/08/2011 14:08 Yes, it is safe to remove. In my view, it is usually in the program group under start / all programs / startup. Simply navigate under the Start button, right-click on it and delete! If it is not there, then remove it from the registry: run regedit and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and delete it from the list in the right pane. If she is not there, then try hkey_current_user\\software\\microsoft\\windows\\currentversion\\run it's better than using msconfig and uncheck it. In my opinion, msconfig must always be set to Normal startup. Your printer will always print without that annoying obstructive utility called Digital Imaging Monitor. Ciao! Casey Henderson, MCP SOURCE: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Web-Printing-Software/REMOVING-HP-Digital-Imaging-Monitor-from-Systray/...

    I know that the information is specific to Windows 7, but the bottom line is, no, there is no need to run all the time. Registry keys are significantly different for XP as they are for Windows 7 while blurb does not apply. I just copied the post in its entirety for you to read through.

    Another thing to consider is uninstall the software and then download and install the base driver.

    Please let me know if this is useful, or if you have any other questions. I'm happy to do my best to help.

  • How many gigabytes

    I have Windows XP Professional installed and you want to back up my os on a 8 GB usb key. I wonder if that's enough gigabytes to backup windows XP Professional? Also how many giga bytes or MB windows xp pro there?

    Not a good idea and it probably do not work. Even with compression, the stick is probably too small. USB keys also have a high failure rate of relatively.

    Instead, you must use an ordinary hard drive external USB. In addition, use an imaging program. Good free imaging programs include DriveImageXML and Macrium Reflect. Good imaging programs paid including Acronis True Image Home and Paragon Backup and recovery of House.

    How your hard disk is currently partitioned? The hard drive contains a large partition (including all your data, such as Office documents, audio and video files, etc.)? Or perhaps you have a partition dedicated to the OS and applications? If the latter, your image will not take so much space. Here again, there is nothing wrong with having a bigger picture and contains all your data.
