Boot HDD fail / change

Hello.

I have a 5.5 ESXi server. The startup HARD disk crashed, the red light is always on.

In the VSphere Client is the following message is displayed: connection to the device naa.6..., which contained the file boot vmfs/devices/disks/naa.600 system... is lost. All changes on the host

will not store.

What can I do?

I buy a new HDD (SSD 32 bytes), but if I plugged the server it do nothing.

Best regards.

Sorry for my bad English.

Hello

ESXi is a 'free State' system by design - it fully loads into memory at startup and changes are immediately packaged into a single file that can change by admin interaction in the bootbank - state.tgz KB VMware: locally to restore a configuration of ESXi sauvegardΘ state.tgz . If you are able to connect in the drive and boot from it, save your state.tgz and restore it on the ESXi freshly reinstalled on the SSD. If you're not, I'm sorry for your loss - your hard drive now in Silicon heaven.

try to perform the recovery by using the partition.  boot f11 and recovery manager must take over. If not, or if the process does not finish successfully, perform a large hard drive. If the test successfully you will need to order a copy of your HP recovery disk.

as an alternative, you can create a new admin account and simply delete your existing account after.

    hope this helps

  • No boot device after changing the partitions

Hi all. I've lost the ability to start in my Windows partition through bootcamp. When I use startup disk system prefs. OSX, he can see Bootcamp, but rebooting produces an error message "no boot device." If I hold the alt key while rebooting, I can only see the Macintosh HD, without bootcamp (or recovery, by the way). I can see the Bootcamp drive on the desktop, so I can use Parallels to run Windows based on this drive, I know that the drive itself is ok.

I did a fair bit of mucking partitions. I decreased my Macintosh HD partition and inserted a new Macintosh HD and Bootcamp. Then, things are funky, and I created a volume of CoreStorage on top of Macintosh HD and it is associated with a partition on an SD card (created a fusion DIY with a TarDiskreader). All this worked fine and I now had a huge hard drive Macintosh and boots fine Mac, Parallels works fine, but I can't start natively in Bootcamp.

    Can someone help, please?

  • Satellite C850D-104 - no boot HDD, no WEIRD boot, black screen

    Hi all

I had a laptop Toshiba C850D-140, purchased approximately one to two years. I decided to reinstall Windows 7 and I started the whole process. Everything was good, the "expanding windows files" ball, completed successfully, then the laptop restarts automatically. Then the problems started.

No Toshiba logo came, only a line of underscore in the top left corner, not flashing, wearing just here. After about two seconds, the system rebooted and underscore appeared. This process in a loop forever. I can enter the BIOS menu, I can get into boot menu list, but the problem is that the laptop cannot boot from any device. HARD, no USB or DVD disc. The DVD contains Windows 7 genuine, working and tested on other PC but the laptop refuses to boot from it.

    Any ideas?
    Consistent thanks

To my knowledge, underscore flashing means a HARD drive problem.
But you said, underscore does not blink but his lie.

In some cases, this could mean the RAM to malfunction. However, this is just an idea.

Question: do you have set the default BIOS? In the BIOS, press F9 to get the default settings and press F10 to save.

HARD drive appears on the first page of BIOS (HDD name, size,)?
If this isn't the case, it means that the HARD drive is faulty.
