  You can get the start time of the event of this HA issues to restart the virtual machine. There is no direct way to get downtime for each virtual machine but HA will generate an event when a host fails while you can deduct the time of the failure of the virtual machine of the timestamp of the event "failed host" (assuming that you know what the virtual machine host was on).

• Satellite C660-106 won't get past boot screen and stops

  Hi all new here

  Well, we had our c660 106 for 2 months now, but the boss has decided to drop about 6 inches high, he stayed on but the led screen is cracked internally as the colors were bleeding on etc, very bad.
  He stayed on until today and ive been screen awards to the top. (it was connected via rgb to my home lcd)

  I had to unplug the laptop and turn it off, but now the problem is when I turn it on it will do initial fire up toshiba black screen where I 0f f2 and f12 options but then immediately turns off completely, we fear now that we have a 1 year old and we have all that she has done on it,

  What works is by exchanging the mouse and keyboard usb for mouse and existing keyboars.

  Looks like that the installation of Win 7 bothered recognition of USB designs.

  Boot order of my M/C has 3 entries in the following order: DVD, HD1, HD2.  All are recognized by the Device Manager.  However, at the start of HD1 is ignored and the machine starts with the HD2 as drive "C"!  How can I get to recognize HD1?  This surface of problem after recovering from a fall.

  Your boot order is not ignored.  Probably, HD1 is checked first and the system is unable to recognize it as a bootable device (probably due to damage in the boot as a result of your accident sector).  It then goes to the next device where a boot device and start it from there.

  Your best bet at a fast food (assuming that the HD1 is recognized as a drive after the boot for HD2) is to perform a check disk on HD1 operation using the 'repair' or ' / R ' option

  but depending on how damaged HD1 is, it may or may not be able to recover.

  In any case, it is a good time to save your data.  In the end, it is possible that you will have to perhaps reformat the drive and reinstall Windows on it.

• Factory restore / Boot Order RAID 0 array?

  I have a 'mobile 'current enforcement office (laptop) XP Pro SP2 with dual hard drives in a RAID 0 array.  For various reasons, I want to put the machine in its factory out-of-the-box condition using discs of recovery/restoration of the manufacturer (essentially the application of Norton Ghost). I did my due diligence regarding the restoration of the machine and 'reconstruction' from there, but the machine does not start on boot from the restore disc CD.  I do not venture into the BIOS often... the existing boot priority order is as follows:

  1. USB FDC:

  2 PCISCSI: FTTX Ary1

  3 IDEO_M: QSI CD-RW/DVD-ROM

  4 IDEO_S: _NEC DVD + /-RW

  5. PCI LAN:

  6.

  7 etc.

  I don't have a built-in floppy drive. I want the machine to start from #3 (my first optical drive).  In the order of precedence of the BIOS Boot, I simply move #3 to the #1 or #2 position?  Will be other items then simply drop into their existing order?

  I do not know how does RAID 0 of the table is on the boot order selection, but I don't want to spoil anything.  I appreciate your help and your expertise.

  · The operating system was preinstalled on the computer?

  · If so, what the number and model of the computer?

  · If it was custom build provide the serial number and model of the motherboard?

  · Have you have saved data on the computer?

  I suggest you to back up data before performing the procedure below:

  1. If the computer is preinstalled on RAID 0 configuration then you might need to break the Raid by changing the variable speed drive (ATA controller) to Normal or IDE

  2. as you have two CD/make ROM DVD readers like the first and the second in the boot sequence and make the method of trial and error to see what DVD Rom detects the recovery disk

  Note: Change to the BIOS/complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk. You can contact the manufacturer of the computer for better assistance.

  Its been a while that I've been on these forums (luckily I had no problem with my computer until recently, Dell has the worst customer service I have ever received) so I apologize if in the wrong place, or if someone wants a specific record of the computer itself.

  Also, I apologize for my lack of technical terms, I understand my computer and how to use it, I have no jurisdiction, either.

  It is essentially a question and not really a problem, I solved the problem I had, I do not understand why it happened.

  I have an Alienware Aurora and I have absolutely no problem with him. I have also two hard drives - external, connected by USB as backups.

  This weekend, I'm for a night at a parent tour went and returned, and discovered that there was a power failure. It's quite common for me, because I live in the country and its been taken by assault a bit where I live.

  From the start of my computer, it worked absolutely fine for about five minutes, and then it froze completely. Confused, I CTRL + ALT + DELETE and restarted everything. (With the help of AVG and MalwareBytes respectively.)

  Nothing has been detected.

  The next day, the same thing happened. Start normal, everything is fine, no problems whatsoever and then after about five minutes, plenty of crash. When he started again, I defragmented my drives, checked all the dics, performed a Scan of CCleaner for questions and to clear my cookies and cache. I also ran another virus scanner.

  Yet again, nothing was found.

  I rebooted (especially to have made control of disk C: drive) and everything was absolutely perfect. I was pretty confident I had fixed.

  Alas, Tuesday, we experienced several power cuts in a short period of time. When I started, it froze again and crashed.   After having disconnected them and restart the computer, it worked, miraculously. I ran my antivirus, CCleaner scans, run, do another check of disk C: drive and added my readers mes lecteurs backup, do a check disk on them as well. Everything seems fine now.

  Because I am a complete fool, when I got home from school (I live away from home for the first eight months of the year) when I put my computer again, I forgot to plug it into a surge protector and is plugged directly into the wall, after the black screen of death, I plug it into a surge protector and I hope this helps. I don't know if it's relevant or not, but I thought I should include it.

  The question I have, (sorry for the backstory), this is what caused my boot order to change? I did a google search and the returned results really only addressed how to do manually, and not how it is done on its own.

  Is it possible that'm surge my hard drive somehow, and that when you try to start the computer went to the better protected - external hard drives instead?

  Surge and Brown-out can damage PC power supplies, motherboards or anything inside the PC. In addition, your external USB drives. Your software and Windows can also get corrupted.

In my XPS 15, (L502X), the BIOS has been designed so that even I was able to understand things, such as changing the boot order so that I can start off the coast a USB. But in the 13 I'm not finding it so intuitive. I'm sure it's me, but I had rather not fuss around and screw things, so I thought I would come here to ask: what are the steps to change the order of boot on this machine? Thank you.

  Recovery settings, update. Or let tapping F12 boot menu access, as soon as you restart the system. No need to start Media bios changes. Not a good idea to clean install windows on a new computer. This procedure is old technology and not necessary on new models of uefi and can cause irreparable damage. Windows and all the rest is a single image file not installed piecemeal, as years ago. You will screw things if you apply old procedures to a whole new operating system.

  We are tryng to change the boot order in the BIOS to recognize the CD player ready for the windows disk. However, there seems to be no option to change the BIOS not boot order, and Yes, we tried the road from Toshiba which suggests press C during startup until and F12 to select the drive during boot, or what kind of work.

  Have you checked if the CD/DVD drive is recognized correctly in the BIOS?

  Maybe your drive is noisy and you should try another. I put t disc you used but try with Toshiba and Microsoft Windows disk recovery disk.
