BootDevice found Probook 6475 b

I work in a corporate environment and may have a "stupid question".  Regretably I have to deploy Windows XP currently.  I was able to successfully repel the 6475b image by setting the machine to start in legacy mode, as the native operating system was Win8 Pro.

Controls system and booting from a 3rd party utility tell me that is the disc and functionng.  However, I have the hard disk 3F0 error when I try to start.  Using Win7 or Win8 isn't a righ tnow option and the hardware seems solid.  My guess is I am missing something simple in the BIOS but am helpless as to what.  Thanks for your help!

It turns out that the problem was the way the most recent hard drive was originally enclosed.  Windows XP is looking for blocks of 4 KB so that Vista and upward can handle blocks of 512 KB, which is the way Windows 8 drivers are partitioned.

The resolution was to use diskpart to repartiion the drive and then deploy wim and ImageX, using a file for a gall by copy of file and a sector based in the format Altris RDeploy img file.

I read a few solutions on the internet, but it did not help. When I tried to access my BIOS, he asks a password (which I don't remember setting up one).

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I wish I had some good news for you, but I did not...

That error code means that your hard drive has failed - at least insofar as it cannot be read by using the instructions in routine more.

IF the drive has failed, there is nothing you can do about it, and the more you use, the less you are able to recover anything on this subject

Your best bet for data recovery now is to do the following:
    (1) remove the hard drive from the PC
    (2) buy a USB-to-Hard kit adapter driver
    (3) download and install this utility on a working PC: http://www.majorgeeks.com/news/story/recover_data_in_3_steps_with_minitool_power_data_recovery_free_edition.html
    (4) connect the old drive to the work PC
    (5) run the data recovery utility to see what can be salvaged from the old drive.

If only the tools does not find what you need, an alternative is Recuva: http://www.piriform.com/recuva

And, if it does well, the best tool out there is this one, but only the trial version is free: http://www.file-recovery.com/

    Good luck

  • ProBook 6475b modem broadband

I can't install the drivers for the modem braodband on a ProBook 6475 b at work. I tried the "Ericson pilots Mobile Broadband' and the ' Sierra Wireless Driver Package for add-on unit high flow Mobile HP un2430" listed for this model in the download page for this model. None of them works.

In Device Manager, there are two unknown devices and not drivers for the modem high speed listed.

In the HP connection manager there is no option for the WWAN connection.

Can someone help me find the right drivers?

The computer is running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit.

    Hello:

Please post the hardware ID for the WWAN card and the unknown device.

Use this guide to find out how to find this info.

  • "Hard drive - (3F0) BootDevice not found" after deleting Windows

    Hello.

I have a ProBook s 4530 accompanying pre-installed Windows 7 Home Premium. I'm a Linux user for a long time, so the first step that I took after the purchase was reducing the OS partition and install Arch Linux on the free space created. I used the laptop in this configuration for something like a year now, but since I rarely even start on Windows, I decided to save free space by deleting them entirely. You use cfdisk, I deleted their partitions.

After a short time (about a day), I got off the machine, and I found a few old labelless CD I wanted to inspect. I started the calculated and inserted in the drive. It was obvious that it was a Windows XP installation CD, so I turned off the computer (before it has completed the phase of loading drivers).

(It is likely that the previous paragraph is unrelated to the error message, because the installation should not even touch the disk at this stage.) I also do not restart often, so I'm not sure that makes the computer startup between the removal of the partition and start the Windows XP CD.)

The next time I tried to start the PC, I was greeted with "Hard Disk - BootDevice (3F0) not found." All HP diagnostics were OK, and when I loaded GRUB on a live Ubuntu CD to my hard drive, it starts normally.

I admit the BIOS could be confused in some way by the partition table I, it starts with lots of free space and has no NTFS partitions, but I think that BIOS should not depend on the OS that I run. So, I have a few questions:

    1. The HP BIOS is trying to detect Windows, and it doesn't do anything differently if it does not find Windows hard disk? I googled around and did not find anyone with experience running as Linux on my laptop (just dual-boot).
    2. If so, is there some way I could convince them to begin the hard drive even through it is not Windows on it?

    Thank you.

Then he turns the laptop was confused because no partition has been marked as active. My bad.

    Hello:

    See if it works...

Download the drivers from this link below (first or second file listed - 32 or 64 bit depending on the case).

    https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?AGR=Y&ProdId=2101&DwnldID=23060&keyword=Intel+RAPI...

Extract the files on a usb flash drive.

With the flash player and the installation of W7 media connected to the computer, boot from the installation of W7 media.

After selecting the install now option, select the training - Advanced menu, Options and select the option load a driver.

You should now see the storage driver files listed.

If you check the box, it only includes the compatible driver.

Follow the prompts and should install W7.

If this does not work, see please see this related thread.

If the info on the thread I posted does not work, then I think that the installation of Windows Media is defective.

  • HP ProBook s 4540 - we found that all the disks during the installation of Windows 8

    I have some problems (re) - install Windows 8 on a ProBook s 4540.

The laptop had a virus so I decided to reinstall Windows 8. I bootet with a Linux rescue CD and made a backup of my personal data. Then I erased the hard disk (using Gparted) (except the first two partitions (System and boot) and with the HP Windows 8 DVD rebootet.) I see always the reader and various partitions, but Windows won't let me install on any of them. So next time, I tried to create two partitions with Gparted directly, but now, I am not at all a player and get after the error message:

We have found all the disks. For a storage driver, click on load a driver.

I googled a bit and I tried to switch between IDE and AHCI in the BIOS, but that did not help. Then I copied most of the pilots of the Assistance Center on a Flash drive and walked to the proper drivers, but no luck. I also tried to look on the Application and Driver Recovery DVD provided with Windows 8 directly but no luck there as well.

I'm a bit at my wits end now, any help would be really appreciated.

Don't know if it's the Board correct, please move if not.

I deleted the partition windows 300MiB and now I can see and select some readers in windows install again. The problem is that windows will not continue because of various errors. (See attachments)

The problem seems to be that my disk is dynamic. I found a guide to convert the hard drive back to base. So my question is, this will help her or my HP DVD awaits the dynamic hard disk?

  • HP ProBook 6550 b: not found Drivers for Windows 10

    Hi all

I have a 6550 ProBook HP running Windows 10, I was installing drivers and managed to install everything except 3 devices (device Base system device Base system and unknown device). I got up on the site of HP support and noticed that they only have drivers for Windows 7, so that of not going to work. I installed a program that told me the devices that need drivers were 2 x ACPI supported and an AHCI device supported. I tried the universal drivers for devices that I just mentioned and find one for the AHCI, but when I installed it, it told me that I already have a newer version of this driver on the laptop (but Device Manager showed me that I don't have the drivers for the device? Since its introduction the exclamation yellow mark and can not find the drivers). Thus, since the sounds than enough drivers important, I would like to help in the finder the correct drivers because they seem not found.

In addition, there is no update available via Windows Update and HP Support Assistant is also coming up empty

    Asif_Ahmed_Joy

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post about the operating system not found since the Win10 Upgrade failed and tried to help.

One of the things that happened during the upgrade:

    (1) it mostly completed but failed in the writing of the new boot loader files

    (2) it failed early in the upgrade, screw up your PC as well

Allows to process 1) first - by recreating the bootloader files.

You need access to a PC for this phase of work in order to create the necessary support to fix your PC boot loader.

Once you have that, please download and create the Win10 installation media from this link: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/media-creation-tool-install?ocid=ms_wol_win10

Note that when you download and build install media, the default tool corresponding to what is already installed on your PC (as in home for the House, and 64-bit to 64 - bit).  While you CAN change these settings, are NOT. If you do, the media that results will be different and will force you to enter a NEW product code.

Boot from the media that you have created and follow the instructions in this link: http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/2294-advanced-startup-options-boot-windows-10-a.html

You will need to go to the Advanced Options screen and click on startup repair.  You will probably need to run Startup Repair three times for him to fix all the boot loader.

Once completed, your PC should start OK.

If this does not work, then we are on option 2) - which is not good news.

While Microsoft says there is no risk in the upgrade of Win10, because they allow you to believe that you can always return to your BONES and the original installation program within 30 days, the ugly fact of the matter is that the Win10 GoBack feature turned out to be unreliable - and when she fails, she can let machines in a State corrupted - that does not always happen , but it happens often enough to be a problem and you will get no warning beforehand that he goes to the trash your PC!

If this is not enough, the Win10 upgrade is known, in some cases, corrupt partition recovery stored by the OEM that built the original machine.  It's pretty much guarantee that no HP recovery will work.

What will work restores your computer to its original factory state using HP recovery media.

It is a set of DVD and a CD or a USB key, which will erase the hard drive (removing all data, applications and settings, reinstall the original OS, drivers and utilities for HP. In some cases, you will be able to order a USB instead of discs.  You must order at HP; they cannot be downloaded.

You can look online for recovery from the paged media related: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers

Once there, enter your product name or number. On your software page and download the drivers, select your operating system and version. Click on "Update".  If the HP recovery support is available for your computer, down near the bottom of the page, you will see an entry for the command Recovery Media-CD/DVD/USB. Click on the symbol '+' to expand this entty and click on order to press for more details.

Or, if you prefer, you can do the same by contacting HP Customer Service:

If you live in the United States or the Canada, details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1

If you live elsewhere, contact details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

NOTE: once you get through, stay on the line until you are finally able to talk to someone ' one - it can take a while!
    ---------------------------------------
However, HP customer care is generally not available on weekends, so you will have to wait until Monday to contact them.
    ---------------------------------------

Don't forget to read through the material in the linked thread before attempting the recovery: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00707939
