Borks Google Firefox in Gmail

Google, always helpful, has replaced the mp3 player attachments in gmail with something that apparently only works in Chrome. In other browsers, it blames the browser to not be able to play the attachment and immediately requires that you download the file (preferably on disk) and you get an application to listen. I just listen to my voicemail ruined without having to do it in Chrome, or preserve it for posterity. Someone at - there a work around for this shit?

Hi funksucker, you can use this dialog box to confirm your version:

Help > about Firefox

The current version is 26.0.

In order to play MP3 media on Windows XP without using a Firefox plugin, the DirectShow technology. Some users have turned off it is easier to download MP3s rather than playing them in the browser. To check your current settings:

(1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

(2) in the search above the list box, type or paste media and make a pause so that the list is filtered

(3) If media.directshow.enabled preference is bold, then it changed its value to false default true.

If it is set true, and the media will not play in Gmail, maybe Google has decided to not help XP users more? Unfortunately, I can not 'practice' and test this issue myself, since I have Windows 7.

Edit: Removed stray text pasted by mistake.

  • Since Google Inbox or Gmail on Mac OS x using command-click to open a link in a new tab incorrectly brings this new tab to the front.

Same action on any other site works very well and opens a new page in a new tab without bringing it to the front. You are looking for if there is a setting that needs to be adjusted or if it's something weird with functioning Google Inbox and Gmail. Would love to get this sort. Thank you!

I think the address of other preferences, named in a similar way, most of the other situations:

    • browser.tabs.loadInBackground = > when you open a regular link in a new tab using Ctrl + click (or right click > open in a new tab)

      • default = true, do not have the new active tab
      • In the page Options dialog box, this is controlled by him "when I open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately" setting.
    • Browser.Tabs.Load InBackground ofdiversion = > when divert you a new window generated by script in a new tab using Ctrl + click

      • default = false, activate the new tab
    • Browser.Tabs.LoadFavoritesInBackground = > when you load a bookmark in a new tab using Ctrl + click (or right click > open in a new tab)

      • default = false, activate the new tab
  • When I click on update, Mozilla says that I am aware, but google/firefox says that I am not

I get the google firefox whenever I go into a new tab Says firefox not up to date. Click on the update link, mozilla said am to date. WTH?

That's where Firefox considers the information he should run.
At the top of the screen is a search bar. Enter browser.newtab.url

It happens in Google calendar as well - same problem. This problem does not exist when I use another browser.

  • I delete search Google Firefox but it always comes back. How can I get rid of it for good?

I deleted from my search provider Google. I've used about: config to remove all references to Google. After the closure of Firefox once or twice, Google is back and fits as my default search provider. I scanned for viruses and rootkits, but my computer seems to be clean.

You notice other parameters to their default values being reset?

Your favorite default search provider is stored in the file prefs.js, a settings file in your Firefox profile folder. Some 'cleaning' software can remove this file at intervals, and some software that protects you against changes unwanted browser can be replaced by an earlier version of the file (for example, functionality of surfing protect against Advanced SystemCare can do). Another way to check the specific permissions for the site is to use the Page Info dialog box. While on a Google.com page, either:

    • Right click and select View Page Info > permissions
    • ALT + t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > permissions

In the dialog box that opens, check the permissions to "Set Cookies" and "Maintain offline storage" and adjust as required. (Example screenshot attached.)

  • Master password in Firefox using Gmail

I use Gmail first enter in my browser. My system WON'T ask me my 'master' password when I get to it. I think that my safety is compromised even if I use a regular password to access my gmail account. It is only when I open another point, like "Facebook" that I am prompted for the password. My gmail account, I can go on several Internet sites, for example, lists of TV Guide, Fox News, my two local news sites, even my weather site. Why are they not affected, but Facebook is? How can I get my main password to affect these other links of Gmail so that my security system is not compromised even using Kaspersky Internet Security with Firewall in place.

I finally found the solution for this, and my problem was a misleading title in FIrefox. (I'm on Mac OX) This is in Firefox > Preferences > privacy, under the heading of history, there is a choice that says "use the custom settings for history". Unfortunately, I forgot it because I was looking for "Cookies" and do not think that the story was the same. Once I finally chose the choice custom history, a set of options of Cookies appeared. This has had the settings that I was looking for and was finally able to get Firefox to ask my master password BEFORE you sign in to Gmail.

  • When I click on onFirefox, a window of google, firefox is not visible.

There is no apparent way to firefox access from Google window fills the entire screen. Up until now when you click on firefox opens a window of google, but firefox with tabs, Favorites etc. would have been top of the screen

It seems that Firefox can be blocked using the full screen. Try to press the F11 key to return to normal mode. If Firefox always opens full screen, it could indicate a corrupt settings file, but let us know if Firefox remembers now opens in normal mode.

Another thing, maybe in a relationship, my ISP has done some major repairs on "International connections" and the Mozilla site also came with a certificate of caution as well. It was also discussed on my phone. Yet, strangely, Gmail works fine on my phone.

  • Just changed from Groupwise to Google Chrome w/gmail, how can I get my documents to print to the post office?

Normally I can do a right-click on a document and choose print, one of my printers is set up to create an electronic document.  Now that we have changed from one mail to another system it stills revealed the old e-mail system, "Groupwise".  How do I know what called the printer to display the e-mail system, I had to, "Gmail/Google + Chrome"?  Is no longer, we use Internet Exployer.

Google is not an "electronic mail system. What you're talking about is a webmail interface displayed in a browser, in your case of Chrome. GroupWise apparently you provided a printer driver which converted a document to an internal document to Groupwise. What you want won't work.

  • BlackBerry 10 Z10 does not synchronize contacts and calendar - Google Apps and Gmail

    Dear Sirs,

I am train back to use blackberry as my mobile platform by default and so I chose Z10.

The point is that I am facing problems to sync my contacts and calendar with my Gmail and Google Apps accounts. I already tried to add accounts in several ways (by default, Gmail, Microsoft Exchange Active Sync), but without success. Just email is syncing with the failure of Gmail.

    System was updated to 10.2.1

I am a blackberry lover and was trying to leave the Android platform. Please could someone help me?

    Thank you and best regards!

Your result from step 1 is exactly as planned... the built-in Wizard GMail via IMAP, which is used for email only. To add the calendar or contacts to an IMAP configuration, you must separately configure CalDav or Mac OS x Server.

Your result, however, in step 2 should not... it is indeed the exact method to integrate a Google Apps account with BB10 device, as long as you continued this process and fill in all the mandatory fields (server name, port, account information, etc.). Carefully note please that unless you are a subscriber to pay Google Apps, this method will not work for you unless you have previously configured it on the exact device on that you are trying to configure. Google has stopped support for free consumer EAS accounts some time previously and only allows such accounts for free on devices that have been previously configured before when they stopped this support. For any new device, only real paying subscribers of Google Apps can use EAS with Google... all others are limited (by Google) to IMAP/Mac OS x Server/CalDav.

    Good luck!

  • A secure site you previously visited warned me that I was using a browser not supported, but showed support for Firefox 3.6 and Internet Explorer. And the Google Firefox Home page such as maps and other extras appear is no longer. Can you collect 3.6?

Access to the website was OK until I upgraded to Firefox 8 which works well with other sites I visit regularly.

Thank you. It is a financial institution. I can contact them to check on the plans in support of version 8. In the meantime, I use IE on this site. Of course liked the look and feel of FF better V3.
