Bottlenecks

Hi all

Sorry do not provide all the details, but I'm sure, the experts will have some comments from experts.

I have a deployment script for creating tables, views, procedures and packages. DB running my app on top of these objects. The same deployment scenario has been used in the boxes of two DB located on the same Windows Server. Simple select on the view have so different response time on these two databases. Deployment scripts are the same for both the DBs.

Which parameter DB all can I search to that could help me to determine the difference in time of response when I run a select statement on these two databases. . in one of the DB, the select a view takes 10 seconds, and in others, it takes 5 minutes. I know its very difficult to answer to an open question, but what I'm looking for is the bottleneck of the DB settings? Let's say for example db multiblock read County, the dynamics of sampling etc. etc. the use of bind variable implicitly?

Thank you

Such a disparity in time often is due to a change of regime, so the answers you get in terms of accounting.  Any slight change of data, statistics of optimizer and a number of other things, including the execution of more than once the query can return from one regime to the other.  Database settings are a very crude method of listening and can potentially lead to a situation where 'fix' one thing can lead to break a lot others.  The defaults are reasonable for most of our days, you should look to your sql and when the statistics were collected - unless everything is slow.

  • where is the bottleneck?

    Hello

I was wondering how fast a connection you guys got with your 4th gen apple tv? I'm maxed out to 52 Mbit/s wired wireless 25 respectively. Got a DOCSIS 3.0 modem and Airport express (set to auto) all on the same AV stand and connected with each other via cat5e. I'm supposed to receive 200 MB service according to Time Warner, but 52 Mbps is the best I can do. MacBook and iPod touch 5th gen get about 35 to 45 Mbit/s via the 802.11n wireless.

The nice lady of TWC swear up and down someone he checked the connection and got 198 Mbps. A check of youtube found another test of speed apple tv to 55 Mbps. Up to what speed the 4th gen apple tv can go? Now, I understand that the Airport express are limited to a speed of ethernet 100 Mbps as the cat5e cable but I get the barley half. So I'm curious to know where the bottleneck is occurring, or not at all. The TWC Lady might have been ripping off my channel too. In any case wanted to check here and get your thoughts. Thank you.

    What express model you have?

The Gen1 N Wireless is only capable of single band... but you can choose 2.4 ghz or 5 GHz...

The problem, Apple is limiting the speed of 2.4 ghz... always having in each router they do... It is not yet really N is N lite.

Even the latest Gen2 Express will never reach full wire speed at 2.4 ghz and you get that on 5 GHz in the same room... they are not designed for a complete job of router.

My recommend... Buy an extreme... or any other brand with ports gigabit... the Express is now and for always the right product. It is designed to make the extension for wireless and airplay etc... the router is not complete.

  • Try to cure a bottleneck of the circular network

    Hello

I have a bit of a bottleneck problem using a circular table. What I need is a buffer as the structure of doubles that will allow me to access an element at the end and to operate as efficiently as possible. I originally used a queue that took about 40 seconds to process a txt file that I use for testing. I changed to a circular table and am now at the 12 total seconds. I need to get faster if I can in this single buffer about 75% of my execution and is the single biggest bottleneck.

Are there any other structure I could use to keep a buffer of fixed size and go to the item at the end more effectively? I implement the table as efficiently as possible? I have attached my screws and screenshots. "simplefixedbuffer" is the circular matrix and "getNextCircularIndex" is the mechanism to update the pointers to the beginning and the end.

My assumption that it is the most effective way to do so is based on the belief that no copy of the entire table takes place inside the native labview function "Insert table" since I apply a fixed size for the table. Please correct me if this assumption is wrong or if there is another method of insertion I should use to avoid copying.

    Thank you!

You want to replace the subset not insert into the table. You are also allocating an array of size of buffer for each call.

  • Bottleneck of Wi - Fi WRT160N

I have recently known bottlenecks to speed wireless with my WRT160N router.  When my laptop (and my roommates) are wired directly to the router, we can achieve expected download speeds (about 20 MB/s, which is what we pay for).  But what connection via the wireless, in the optimal settings (sitting two feet from the router, no other connected computers) download speeds 1-4 mb/s down.  Router transmission speed used to always register at 54 mb/s (we use all g, so 54 is optimal), but recently, you end up longer than 1 Mbps or 5.5 MB/s.  He rarely recorded higher speeds (yesterday all of a sudden it worked perfectly for about 8 hours, were of transmission speeds up to 54 Mbps Wireless and I was able to achieve download speeds via the wireless about 18 MB/s.)  But it dropped again last night and received no more than 1 or 2 Mbps wireless speed and download speed was blocked at 1 or 2 Mbps).  So it seems that the speed of wireless transmission is the bottleneck - when it increases, my download speed increases.  How can I speed up wireless routers to a consistent 54 mb/s?

I've updated the firmware, changed channels, beacon interval, frag threshold, rts, security settings, radio band, modes of network threshold and everything that I saw recommended on these forums, but have not found any combination that helped.  Router is v3.0.02.  Any suggestions?

I had this problem, turned out be a person on the same channel to the top of my jamming signal.

    First, change channels.

Two, make sure that the speed on the router is set to g and 54 megabits only.

This will force a connection with your laptop to 54 megs.

The last thing to try and I amassuming that you have a router 160N V2) return to the version of the firmware 2.0.02 8.

I tried 3.0.02 version 7 and it was totally unstable.

I bought a p7-1003w and you want to install a GTX 550 TI (Fermi) graphics card. The computer he would go smoothly? or would this bottleneck? Thank you.

    Hello

I don't see a problem with the help of the NVIDIA GTX 550 TI in your PC. Most of the newer and faster cards video all use DDR5 memory.

There is a bios update available for your PC.

When the bios recognizes that there is a card in the PCI-E x 16 slot then the on-board video will be disabled.

Yes... RJL is correct... you have too little memory system AND the readers who hold your video files are holding your performance. You can add a PCI DSS as a Samsung SM 951, Intel 750 to place your active media, files, previews and all cache files. The largest, runs drives then can be used as an archive and for backup, while SSD PCI would treat your records ASSETS used in publishing... all run at a speed MUCH faster than 1.5 GB per second or MORE and maybe NO latency "two-way" interface, if you have a... traditional NVME SATA SSD model nature can not read and write at the same time... the SATA interface is "half duplex" allowing one type of operation at a time.

You can test your current computer on the PPBM8.com site, managed by Bill Gehrke here on this forum, using its test for the edition with the body. Then, re-test after adding memory (64 GB would be great... Much better than the current 32 GB) and a faster Media Player. Your CPU is made to OVERCLOCK... the clock speed of the CPU is KING by providing for an increase in the performance... ENJOY this one!

You can study many several machines on this site test results and by downloading the free "Speccy" Piriform, you can study the details of their material, as well as your own. many run their Haswell E CPUs to 4.5 Ghz!

Many users of SSD at low prices for their OS readers do not get good results... Series Samsung 850 Pro and the cheapest MX200 Crucial are recommended... models "EVO", are NOT. Some SSDS are slower at the level of 128 GB and see the best performance starting at 256GB and more... you can check Anand Tech customers (or similar), see your, and then test your. The many small read and written by Windows page on your 'C' drive file operations can hinder performance if you use lower SSD for your boot drive. Disable 'indexing' on all drives for better performance. Also, make sure that your "power" settings are ALL set 'Maximum Performance' or Windows will THROTTLE your CPU and GPU even to impede performance.

In addition, be aware that the CURRENT of PPro CCloud version is better and improved over previous versions such as CS6 in the treatment of 4 K and other codecs. These new versions have the memory usage improved for better performance and ELIMINATED a common problem in editing. • Program3D.upload is the bottleneck when using chrome PPAPI

    Platform: windows 7 64-bit

Content debugger Flash Player 16 PPAPI

    Profiling tools: Scout cc

    Material: i7 930 2.8 GHz, 660, GTX 8 GB Ram

Recently, we found that our program works on google chrome PPAPI becomes very slow (especially) when loading data.

We use scout cc to profile management of loading and have some results of experience here:

    Internet Explorer 9

    Ms. Program3D.upload:106

    Capabilities.Manufacturer: Windows Adobe

Display driver: DirectX9 (the base scope)

    Google Chrome PPAPI

    Program3D.upload: 1ms 4 416

    Capabilities.Manufacturer: Google pepper

Display driver: OpenGL (the base scope)

We found that the main difference of the two data is display driver.

According to different users is using Google chrome, we should solve the congestion now.

Any solution we can improve the bottleneck in Chrome PPAPI are there?

Unfortunately, this is probably something we need to fix on our end, or Google report and ask them difficult in Chrome.

The best way to get this process started must fill out a bug report with a very simple example that illustrates the problem.

You can file a bug here: http://bugbase.adobe.com/

If you post the bug number here, I'll make sure she gets studied and given without delay.

  • OVF import directly to ESXi without going through the bottleneck of Vsphere client

I'm currently installing the OVF VMA to ESXi 4.1. ESXi is installed in a data center. VSphere client is installed on my computer at home.

I chose the URL to install from the ESXi thought it would download directly, but no, it seems that the VSphere client wants to download and then upload to the data center via my broadband connection bottleneck domestic. I'm looking now to 233 minutes to make all this happen.

I'm still on a learning curve steep then there may be something obvious that I missed, but is it possible that I can bypass the internet connection is slow my home computer (I only have 1.3Mbps uplink speed) and deploy the OVF directly in the data center?

There are command line tools that I can run on, say, a VM Linux running VSphere CLI to do the same thing? I couldn't find anything in PDF files, I watched so far.

    Thank you...

    Welcome to the community,

you do not have access to the vCenter Server? In this case, you can open a vCenter Server RDP session and run the top vSphere Client to download and import the vMA.

  • Find bottlenecks

Hello, I have an interesting question that I hope someone can shed some light on. First of all, my system specs.

Intel i7 - 3930 k six core (no overclocking yet, just Turbo Boost that I just finished this build a few days ago).

    16 GB of RAM (1 600 Mhz, CS8)

256 GB Sata III SSD project AE, AE disk cache, files and the source (two videos 1080i on this project) files

128 GB Sata II SSD for the OS and programs (no games, just AE, prepro and MS Office)

500 GB Sata II HARD drive for files of the effect (explosions, smoke, sound FX, etc.) But none of them are used for this project)

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 SE (1 GB VRAM)

    Windows 7 64 bit

    AE CS5.5

The clip that I made is 10 seconds long and has two layers of 1080i AVCHD videos, 1 layer of rotoscoped for the complete 10 seconds, finesse of colour, keylight, some static base masks, and I export for H.264 bluray on my C drive with the Sata II SSD, which has just the program files and BONES.

Now the question. My problem is that none of my hardware is maxing out. The CPU's bouncing between 50% and 73%, my disk cache and the file source Sata III SSD is only transfer about 10 to 20 MB/s (capable of sustained reading 520 MB/s and all written 505 MB/s), my Sata II SSD when I export to bounces around only 2 to 5 MB/s, only about 6 of the 12 GB of RAM , I booked for multiprocessing AE is used, and my use of the video card is bouncing around 40 to 70%. I don't know what else to check. My SSD is little used and everything else is only reached about 70% of its capacity.

Does anyone have an idea on how to determine whence my real bottleneck?

I saw a few posts about it, years ago but it ends up being a bottleneck of the video card and the other was solved by changing just the output format (probably another video card problem). In my case, the use of the video card MAX for the duration to make is perhaps 72%.

And not that this information is very useful, but the rendering time is around 11 to 12 minutes to complete the second clip 10... It might be useful to know that just load the second 10 clip entirely into RAM for a RAM preview only takes a few minutes at full resolution, maybe 3 minutes max.

Thanks in advance for the help!

You use the temporal effects / features (Rotobrush) forcing AE return to the only multithreaded treatment and you are out in a format clip requires a strictly linear progression. You can see the best performance using image sequences, but the part on the sticks of effects. In addition, there is not much to say - you will never see full use of 100% on everything. AE takes what needs it and what fits his logic, but not less and not more. And your RAM Preview proibably makes simply faster, because she is at reduced resolution or use the GPU, which will also not be used for the final rendering. Everything is perfectly normal. Simply adjust and you plan accordingly.

  • bottlenecks in VMware

    Hi guys,.

new to vmware.  I got installed on my xp workstation...  Quad core 2.4 ghz...  4gig memory...

I was wondering what will be the bottleneck in my system drive speed?  is it better to have readers separated for each virtual machine?

I wanted to install a win 2003 domain controller... that is mainly used as a backup domain controller... really doing nothing except dns and active directory.

will run it stable in a virtual machine on my pc for 2 months in time?

With the feature you mentioned that it must be stable, however the other aspects of your interaction with the base OS on your machine will come into affect.

If other programs on your pc are volatile this may make the System unstable, which could affect the installation of VMware worksation and cause the base systΦme to blue screen etc., this kind of problem will cause issues for your virtual machine environment.

Really depends on your PC itself is how stable...

My home system is pretty much the same:

    Quad Core 2.6 Ghz

    8 GB Ram

    2 x 500 GB SATA

    2 x 10 k raptors (Raid 1)

    Vista x 64

I host all my VM on one of 500 GB SATA and don't really notice much of a degradation of performance on my PC. I usually start around 4 or 5 VMS at a time... Depends on the workload of the VM really the end.

  • Battery problem (CPU a bottleneck) with BIOS and Intel SpeedStep technology.

    The question is this:

    1. If the AC adapter and the battery are both connected on the X201T, the speed of the CPU (base clock) is capable of running at the maximum speed of 2.13 GHz as indicated by the specifications of the system.
    2. If only the battery is connected, the speed of the CPU is still able to run at maximum speed of 2.13 GHz as indicated by the specifications of the system.
    3. If only the AC adapter is plugged in, the speed of the CPU is now 'limited' and can run only at 1.2 GHz.
4 in addition, I also ran Windows Experience Index assessment (built-in to Windows 7) and received a score of 6.3 with the battery or the AC adapter is plugged in, but only a score of 4.2 with only the AC adapter.
    5. the system is significantly slower and cursor shifts are more noticeable when the battery is disconnected.

    Control Panel:
A.the system has been set at maximum Performance with all the power saving settings turned off. The system has been fully updated for the latest updates and possible drivers from 12/03/10 at the time of the breathalyzer test.  No other software is installed that came with the ThinkPad when I received it.
    B. with the connection and disconnection of the battery, the system has been individually disabled every time and restarted.
    C. I ran full system Test and system through Lenovo ThinkVantage Toolbox stress Test and received no errors to ensure that the question was not due to system errors.
    D. I used CPU - Z 1.56 v to monitor the speed of the CPU, all running Intel BurnTest v2.50 to insist on the system.
    E. the problem is reproducible and probably a system wide problem/bug, because I tested it on two my X201T (I know it's weird, but I have two of these amazing machines).

    Update:

After further testing, I've isolated the problem of "Bottleneck the CPU processor without battery" occurs only when the technology Intel SpeedStep in BIOS is enabled. Only when the SpeedStep technology option is cleared "completely", this problem will not occur. However, if the SpeedStep technology is enabled, even when the AC is set on maximum Performance, the CPU processor speed is limited when the battery is disconnected with the tablet running only on the AC adapter. This seems to be a bug in the BIOS.

If someone can communicate this problem Lenovo Engineering Department so that they can arrive at a solution, that would be great and very helpful. So I can work on my system without always having the battery plugged.

There are 2 solutions for that.

You spend more money for a 90W power adapter (which I did), then you can disconnect the battery and it will run at full speed.

Or, you go into the BIOS and turn off IntelSpeedStep.

Unfortunately, without the battery, when only using the 65W adapter, your speed will be throttled (I think it's a mistake on the end of Lenovo, but they claim it's normal).

  • Bottleneck on reqID generation, insertion of line

Running CF7.02 and SQL Server 2000, we get the bottlenecks to the database insertions in our table of queries by far more active. In the transaction database, we check to see if the request is a duplicate. Then we make a cflock for exclusive type with 90, column key 1 key set timeout max current, insert the new line and cancel the lock. We then do CFLDAPs to check the DUP and then change an ldap group in order to take account of the request. While the transaction ends.

We get a lot of timeouts while trying to make the cflock. Under the terms of the user load high (3 - 4 times normal number of visitors to the site), the ColdFusion server becomes unresponsive.

Is there something we can do on the database or the server side ColdFusion app to reduce wait times and to maintain our site? Any suggestion is appreciated.

MS SQL Server locking predicate so that each row see you in a
transaction is locked until the end of your transaction. Since you are
style MAX request you read the entire table and all the
table is locked until the validation. Given that this includes the LDAP call protocol which
can take a long time. (Try, open 2 windows in Query Analyzer, in the)

  • The CARS performance bottleneck will be the shared disk storage?

    Hi all
I'm studying CARS and I am concerned about the bottleneck of CARS I/O performance.
If I have 10 knots and they use the same disk storage to contain the data, then
they're going to do i/o on the disk at the same time.
    Maybe we got more latency...

Will it be a performance problem?

How RAC does not solve this kind of problem?

    Thank you.

All 10 nodes connected with storage shared by FIBRE cable which give faster latency also all nodes interconnection must be a GIGABIT switch. This option two is going to solve the problem of slow disk i/o.
