Box of WinXPSP3 EULA prevents access

I have a Windows XP SP3 I bought online.  Worked well until the Windows EULA screen popped up.  I clicked top and now all my icons, programs and start menu went.  I can't access control panel, make a restore or none of it, even when signed as an administrator.    I tried to access restore by going to Safe Mode with command prompt; and it indicates that the restore is disabled and not available, 88 start Windows in normal mode to start the restoration.  When I click on Control Panel etc I have a box that opens stating: RESTRICTIONS "this operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer.  Please contact your system administrator. "The only thing I can do on this computer is online.  The EULA arrives on my desk and will not disappear.  Everything what I download from the internet is not available.  I can't access any CD/DVD - I get the same message.  Help!

Hello sfhogback,

    You must create the userContent.css file and possibly the record chrome as well if they do not yet exist.
    Note that the names are case-sensitive.

    • Create the folder chrome (lowercase) in the .default < xxxxxxxx > profile folder if the folder does not exist
    • Use a text editor like Notepad to create a file userContent.css (new) in the folder chrome (file name is case sensitive)
    • Paste the code into the userContent.css file in the Editor window
    • Make sure that you select "All files" and not "text files" when you save the file via "save file as" in the text editor as userContent.css.
      Otherwise, Windows can add a hidden .txt file extension and you end up with one does not not userContent.css.txt file
  • I want to prevent access to the menu bar (file, editing, display, tools, someone) and prevent access to the restoration of firefox completely.

    Basically, I set up firefox for my guest account. I've already locked download (requires password) prohibited access to modules and tools. Really, there are only a few more things I want to set up.

    For example when you right-click at the top of firefox it will show 'Menu Bar' and 'bookmark' tab I want to prevent users from right-clicking and showing that the bar and ultimately using the help > troubleshooting Info > update Firefox, because they could reset Firefox and get full access to download it again.

    I would also like to prevent access to the right by clicking on entirely, showing the context menu.

    You must create the chrome folder and the file userChrome.css in there.

    • Create the folder chrome (lowercase) in the .default < xxxxxxxx > profile folder if the folder does not exist
    • Use a text editor like Notepad to create a userChrome.css (new) file in the folder chrome (file name is case sensitive)
    • Paste the code in the userChrome.css file in the Editor window
    • Make sure that the userChrome.css file starts with the default @namespace line
    • Make sure that you select "All files" and not "text files" when you save the file via "save file as" in the text editor as userChrome.css.
      Otherwise, Windows can add a hidden .txt file extension and you end up with one does not not userChrome.css.txt file

    How will I know which is my namespace? Where can I find this information?

    I have the keep me signed in box checked, but I connect access to my home page. It happens with the implementation of your homepage.

    The default value is the home page in Firefox Subject: House, which isn't a page on the internet, it is integrated in Firefox and is not a login name. It does not look like much to the Google / Firefox start page which was used previously, but it is not the same.

  • Page rotation script does not (not allowed error security settings prevent access to this property)

    Hello

    I use a script to rotate each pages in pdf format by clicking on a button. I added a script to rotate the file in the click event of the button turn as a javascript. It works in acrobat, but not in adobe reader. Please see the script

    Start = 0;

    nEnd = this.numPages - 1;

    nRotate = 90;
    Try
    {
    If (this.numPages > 0)

    this.setPageRotations (start, nEnd, nRotate)
    }
    }
    catch (e)
    {
    App.Alert ("processing error:" + e)
    }

    But I get this error in adobe reader not in acrobat. "not authorized error security settings prevent access to this property or method". What is the problem. Please someone tell me.

    OK, so here's what you do:

    -Create a new file in a plain-text editor (I recommend Notepad ++) and paste this code:

    safeExecMenuItem = {app.trustPropagatorFunction (function (code)}

    app.beginPriv ();

    app.execMenuItem (code);

    app.endPriv ();

    });

    mySafeExecMenuItem = {app.trustedFunction (function (code)}

    app.beginPriv ();

    safeExecMenuItem (code);

    app.endPriv ();

    });

    Close the player if it was open and then save this file as "MyScripts.js" and place it in the following directory (this is for Windows):

    C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader\Javascripts

    If you want it to run as well in format Acrobat place the file also less:

    C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Acrobat 11.0\Acrobat\Javascripts

    Now to rotate the page clockwise attach this code to your button (in Acrobat, of course):

    mySafeExecMenuItem ("RotateCW");

    And to turn them counterclockwise, use this code:

    mySafeExecMenuItem ("RotateCCW");

    Open your file in the player and the buttons should turn pages when you click on it...

    Im having problems accessing copy, editing and viewing my photos on my drive external hard .it says I don't have permissions to access the file .and the file belongs to an unknown user account. How can I have access to these files?

    I think that this resulted that I changed my operating system from windows home basic/vista (not sure what operating system) Windows 7 ultimate.

    Please help me, its been two years im trying to solve this problem.

    the external hard drive is a samsung HD103SI, 1 TB model

    I saw the pictures and found that you had to the security of the folder/file. From there, change the owner of your current account. The account unknown S-1-5-21-98... user id internal to the user account that created the file and so you have the permission of that user, which is impossible because even if you create a user account with the same name, the user id cannot be the same.

    Also, as mentioned in one of the boxes of dialogue, appropriating the folder/file and then delete the unknown user account.

    Try the above, if the file/folder is not encrypted/protected.

  • preventing access to the DB for expdp

    I want to do an export of selected schemas of Oracle 10 g 2 DB production and import them into an Oracle 11 g 2 DB.

    I can connect directly to servers in order to perform the export & Import DB.

    1. When is it best to use a box of click vs a button (or vice versa)?

    Thanks in advance!

    Thanks for the detailed explanations of Rick. It makes sense now...

    Your answer made me think of something else that solved my problem 'fading out '. What happens is that the Slide > Transition for carriage 1 properties have been set to ' Transition', but 2 Slide has been set to ' fade between "- so even if the slide was a break, the chronology has continued and disappeared to the slide...

    I had the same scenario on another film Captivate-, I created so I now know how to solve this problem here too!

  • Prevent access to drive C

    I would like to install Mozilla Firefox version 22.0 in my computer lab for students. However, I ran into a problem of security with this browser. When you type "C:" into the search bar, Firefox will display the contents of the C drive. IE and Chrome are not. I spent the last 3 days, researching this issue without a solution that might work. I tried to use the add-on BlockSite, install a third-party .adm (although the documentation does not point to specific change strategies) and by modifying the browser.js file. (as described here: http://nitishkumar.net/2010/06/23/restricting-browsing-with-mozilla-firefox-for-business-scenario/) Is it possible to prevent Firefox to view this?

    Just to note: I already configured the Active Directory group policy to hide drive C and prevent the user looking for drive C through the Explorer Windows, IE and Google Chrome.

    Never mind. I understood the question, I've had. The implementation of the new code was incorrect on the site:

    http://nitishkumar.NET/2010/06/23/restricting-browsing-with-Mozilla-Firefox-for-business-scenario/

    The location of the additional code is at the end of the ' see the or hide chrome browser based on the white list "contained in the OnLocationChanged function at line 11264. Once I moved more code to this place, it worked:

    If (location.match(/^file:/) |
    Location.match(/^\//) |
    Location.match(/^resource:/) |
    Location.match(/^c:/) |
    (! location.match(/^about:blank/) & &
    Location.match (/ ^ about :/))) {})
    loadURI("about:blank");
    }

    However, I have to manually delete and re-create all the user accounts on the system before this change could replicate to them. In other words, this change has not fixed the problem for all accounts on the computer, but new accounts added after the fix would receive the fix.

    == I tried to access a website

    Hello Dave deaf.

    It is possible that you have a problem with some Add on Firefox which is an obstacle to the normal behavior of your Firefox. Have you tried to disable all add-ons (just to see) to see if Firefox goes back to normal?

    Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you must make sure that it is not caused by one (or more) of your installed modules, whether an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do this easily and cleanly, start Firefox in safe mode (remember to select disable all add-ons when you start safe mode). If the problem goes away, you know that it's an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode and allow them one by one until you find the source of the problem. See this article for more information on troubleshooting extensions and theme and this one for plugins.

    If you need help with one of your modules, you will need to contact the author.

    In addition, it is possible that your system is infected by malicious software. To search for malicious software, install, update and run these programs in this order. They are all free for personal use, some have limited functionality in their 'free mode', but the features you won't miss are not really necessary to find and remove the problem you have. Remember that not all programs detect the malware even!

  • Firefox update prevents access to the NAS web page

    Firefox is the likely cause of the web administration of a Buffalo Linkstation Live 1 TB network attached page being inaccessible storage device.

    This has happened

    Each time Firefox opened

    is every attempt to open the NAS web administration page after that Firefox updated to level to 3.6.6

    With some effort, this has been resolved. and it is the browser of the cause.

    Test with configuration as a result of security changes made no difference to the outcome of the error reported. It took uninstalling internet security suite to expose Firefox as being the cause. The default settings have been the "use system settings" option in the tools/options/advanced/network Panel. I never had the opportunity to change something in this space, because I started using Firefox, and when I installed the Sep 09 NAS, access via FF using the ip_address was the norm.

    However, when you attempt to connect using FF to the security suite 'not there' a proxy not responding error occurred, which was the point on the cause. The FF network Commission review, a manual selection of the proxy server and if no proxy for local connections was the required patch. He continued to work after security suite has been reinstalled. A jpg of this working configuration image is attached.

    In the last 6 months FF suffered a number of updates. One of those - most likely 3.6.4 or 3.6.6 - changed something in FF mode of local network connection management. In which case the same ip addresses in the address bar previously authorized were no longer allowed - all without talking to the user in the update until the condition occurred in operations.

    This is the second time a mozilla product did that for me, on the automatic update, and I'm upset that a good product may be contaminated by defects of design and testing in this way. Updates automatic for FF and TBird are off my calendar. If the effects of the end of a change are not complete and explained in detail - I don't use it. the pain of the errors that it is caused is considerable.

  • Nighthawk R7000 AC1900 Smart WiFi router prevents access to Internet

    Yesterday morning I lost the internet connection. After a day of trying to solve the problem, it has been determined that the Nighthawk is not only not allowing Internet access, but it stops it completely.

    If I plug the computer directly into the modem provided by Midco, I get a perfect connection.

    The minute I try to access Netgear genius to solve the problem, I lose the internet connection.

    If I try to use the Wi - Fi connection, instead of cable, I lose the internet connection.

    If I connect the modem to the router and the router to the computer, I lose the internet connection.

    My router $ 199 is barely 6 months. The cables are in good condition. Of course, it would start to have problems after the free 90-day warranty/help from Netgear.

    Any help to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

    After that four days back with the company support Internet technology, they kept swearing that the router has gone bad. I went out and bought a new one, and it is same thing. They said they would have to call a technician to come to the House because they didn't know that their modem is not the problem since I could not in direct line with the modem to the computer. On a whim, I went out and bought a new modem, plugged into the router and the ethernet socket worked perfectly. If it turns out that something was going on with their router where it would not go to the modem to the router to the computer. When I tried this way, with the old modem, both the old and new router would not recognize the cable from the modem to the router, any cable, we used. But the new modem with router old and new work took over the old modem to the company and they told me there might be a short circuit in the modem, otherwise they cannot explain why the problem happening.
