  Yes. As far as I know, manually migrate the data is the only option and I'm not aware of all the tools to automatically migrate the data into writable volumes.

  Maybe I'm missing something, but I strive to pre-allocate and persist a hard disk for a windows XP Pro VM. It doesn't seem to be the option most to do so during the installation, even in the custom/Advanced menu. Did I miss something in 7.1? Can someone point me in the right direction?

  When you create the virtual machine, choose to create a virtual custom computer, and one of the pages of the wizard has a checkbox "Allocate all disk space now".  Once the virtual machine is created, you can go to the settings of the virtual machine, select the drive, click on the Advanced button and make a persistent independent drive.

• Record Full Duplex and ADR Workflow in Premiere Pro CC

  Hi, I use CC v10.3.

  Trying to find best workflow for ADR only not sure if I need to do this first or hearing.

  I'm unable to mute the audio channel that I record in first that causes a signal delayed voice back to the screen. The talent is to hear the microphone input AND the delayed signal. Is there a way to re - route the output of the channel I record to so it will be no power to the monitor when recording? In Pro Tools, I just mute the channel, but when I do it in first, it will not register. I also tried to play the channel that we replace and even once, it will not record solo.

  I use a mixer with an additional bus (running the entry to 3-4 mike hand out is 1-2 Try to find a way to monitor the mic input and output channel (as if recording on a bed of music you want to listen to everything by expressing sound) without hearing the voice channel I record on.

  Any suggestions?

• Prelude and first Workflow for transcriptions in documentary Rough Cut

  Hello community, I use Prelude and first for a documentary, I'm trying. We used the prelude to transcribe and save a large amount of equipment and took the Prime Minister to change.  Transcripts are proved to be very useful since we have more than 400 hours of film to do, and the editors have made selects raw materials that already contains tags as metadata xmp file that we have compiled and printed in easy to read documents. However, the transcripts do not appear in the first, and it would be very useful to compile the transcripts of the selections depending on the material cut in first. I wonder if there is a way to import the first sequences or as a prelude to the project and have therefore a transcription of the first rough cuts which can be easily compiled into a digital file or print versions.  I hope that I was clear enough in explaining my situation, and I hope there is a solution somewhere out there.

  Please try the workflow between Prelude and Premiere Pro.

  In fact there is no option to 'Send to prelude' similar to what you see in prelude--> send on the file menu for Premiere Pro. As the workflow is designed as a log file as a prelude, creating scripted, sending Pre Pro, edit the files in pre pro and the creation of the final video. After sending the files of prelude to pre Pro, any change that you engage in multimedia files through prelude would be automatically visible in Premiere Pro.

  Although if you re-importation/reingest the same files, where the changes have been made in Premiere Pro, with Prelude, all changes would be visible as a prelude.

  Make sure xmp files that are located in the same place as the original files are not deleted, they retain all the logging information made by prelude/Pre Pro.

  Anyway, you always can once again log files in Prelude and send them to Premiere Pro.

• Infrastructure and the workflow administrator

  I have two types of workflows that I need to run:

  1. infrastructure management.  These are things that Orchestrator has to do with the regular workflow.  They should not be dependent on the account active directory of an employee for authentication to vSphere, but rather a service account.   That's why I need to share a single session in my orchestrator configuration and run it all through this service account. (Unless I think bad - if so correct me)

  2. tasks of the administrator - these are things that must be run on an Ad Hoc basis by the directors of the vSphere environment.  Logging of who did what in vCenter is important and uses permissions and authorization implemented already in vCenter is important for these workflows, because there are different levels of permissions for admins of vSphere configured in vCenter which should apply when these types of workflow are running. So, I need to configure vRO to use 'session by user' instead of 'Share a single session' (unless I think bad - if so correct me)

  However, I can only configure Orhestrator to use 'user logs', or use 'share a single session', but not both.  How people have solved this problem?  This call to two facilities orchestrator, one for administrators and for infrastructure components?

  You may be able to create / remove the connection to host shared on the fly in your workflow to avoid exposing a connection in vCO.

  It's basically the way people made for vCloud Director where you need to have a connection by the organization.

  The other way is to expose workflows accessing a particular host only. You need actions by pulling on the lists of the VM at the start of a vCenter or help to specify a property of presentation of the root element.

  Once done, you can set permissions on the workflow.

  The third way is in your response. You can separate users by vCO...

  The suite is that you should have a special account that has sufficient rights to perform the Infrastructure Management and the use of session by user with this user.

  The first solutions are those requiring the most effort, while the those last less.

• EncryptedString value and Editing Workflows

  Looks like I can't change any of the workflow library. The small symbol pencil trying to change anything in a pre-made workflow is grey, where, in double or custom I can edit workflows. Is it this way for a reason? Do I have to (try) to log on as an administrator to change these pre made workflow?

  I changed a setting in a duplicated encryptedstring workflow and I get validation errors because (apparently) the workflow library referenced shows the string, not encrypted.

  Any help would be appreciated

  Warnings are right - especially that in this screenshot... What is expected as the type of the object variable is different. They may be compatible but I honestly do not know since I have not yet used this new type of encrypedstring... In the past, I used the securestring mapped to a regular string entry that generated the same warning that you show here, but it has worked well because the underlying data were identical... Messages that you need to worry are the errors

  Spend your amount and see if it works.

• V8 - Portal client and deleted workflow models

  I have a weird problem and try to understand how the security features of the Portal role. We use our customer portal to security control patterns (templates) flows are available to customers. In most cases, if the model has undergone many changes; Clone us the old model, rename it, make the necessary updates and save it. We would remove the old model and confirm the new model is included n the proper role and delete the old list.

  In some cases our uses have set bookmark url for the workflow or model. If the user has clicked or followed the url marked with a bookmark, the 'old' workflow would be presented to them to complete. Even if the template has been removed from the list of models and model has been removed as a portal.

  I thought that, once a model has been removed, and the update of the Portal role do not present the workflow, the portal should not allow the customer to view the model and complete the workflow.

  What controls the data presented to the customer portal?  It is related to the profile of security by chance?

  I guess you are having this kind of behavior because of data set cached by the browser and the web server.

  Then you can try to:

  1. reload the page

  2 clear the browser cache, reload the page

  3 recycle app pool VSM web server, reload the page

  to see if it helps.

  I know portals of VSM roles have no relationship with the default security profiles.

  Depending on the model of the workflow LITE_WORKFLOW_PROCESS_TEMPLATES visible request by an end user in the customer portal depends on these criteria:

  * State of the workflow template must be active

  * Name of the workflow template must not be empty

  * Profile of workflow (workflow process) assigned to the workflow must be active.

  * Workflow template must be assigned to the role of the user through security models (if enabled) Portal

  * Partition workflow must be accessible by the user (if the workflow is partitioned)

• Is it possible to refresh data LC desktop and persistent?

  I want to create a desktop view of the training pool.   Every week there is a new group of trainees for the environment should be returned to the initial environment every week.

  I have created an automated pool Linked Clone of 8 workstations with persistent disks and added 8 users right.  I logged in as different users and they were still recorded in the same office (which is what I wanted).  I made changes to the desktop and then made an update of the LC.   The update comes back at the office, but do not wipe the persistent user data.

  Is there a simple way to allow these workstations be connected by students with persistent data during the week and then be fully refreshed for the new class?

  You could always delete workstations rather than try to update.

• Cart and persistent anonymous profile

  I try to keep an anonymous profile on certain condition. The code snippet I used to initialize the profile is getProfileRequestTools () .initAnonymousProfile (pProfile, this)

  The profile gets persist very well but I'm not able to see any object basket attached to this profile. Shouldn't there be a cart assigned to each profile which is initialized? and if the profile is persistent cart should also get persistent with her.

  How do you verify that the order does not persist? . Check the command within the ACC id and make sure that the Articles of Commerce, ShippingGroups, PaymentGroups are present for this command id. This means that the order has persisted. One of the drawbacks of this code is, if the user returns after the session timeout (if you insist anonymous users), ATG will be considered as new profile and creates an order of it (transient). This order is persistent again when the user runs the lines above the code.

• Orchestrator and VIX Workflow Plugin

  Hi guys

  I will have two streams of work:

  • Clone and sysprep
    
  • Copy files, run a Script, the Delete Directory, restart
    

  So when I run the first workflow (Clone and Sysprep) ended successfully

  When I run (copy files, run a Script, remove the directory, Reboot) it has also successfully completed

  But when I add workflows (copy files, run a Script, remove the directory, restart) the workflow (Clone and sysprep) he has still failed on the beginning of the workflow (copy files, run a Script, remove the directory, restart)

  Error message is the virtual machine must be turned on.: 3006

  If I see on the right, you have bound the bad VcVirtualMachine to the copy of the files...-Workflow:

  You don't need the flow of job-input-parameter "vm", but the result of the task of cloning: tempNewVM

  When you bind this stream of work-attribute of the workflow element copy files, it should work.

• Profiles and persistent record documents redirection

  All,

  I have a simple question about the redirection of the profiles and documents to the persistent drives when you use linked clones.  I do not have the answer, or did he only glassy in the mountains to view the documents that I've gone through.

  When VMware mentions redirecting boards and profiles of documents on a persistent drive, they offer set up a GPO to redirect them? (A GPO to redirect their say, D:\Documents and Settings?).

  Or view actually handles the redirection?  My gut says that this is done via a GPO, but I thought I would ask for clarification.

  Where setting the option of disk in the pool view will handle the redirection of profile.  In addition, you can add a GPO to make the folder redirection that would smoke less on the size you want for the persistent disk.

• PP and EEA workflow

  I don't know how to use the two programs, but I'm not sure how to use them at the same time.

  For example, I use PP to put clips together and apply effects without problem. I use EEA for more powerful effects, that intros and sometimes some of the sequences.

  Whats causing my head is... How to deal with the audio?

  You know... audio sync for music and stuff like that. How would I do that if I use these two programs at the same time? I prefer to edit audio in PP coz it's easier for me.

  It's certainly a way to do it - everyone has their own way that works for them - and he has written extensively on the DL workflows.  But here's the standard way:

  Right click a few sequences in your calendar that you want to send to the AE and click 'Replace with model AE"If you have a 'empty space' in your timeline as you say, simply place a color matte in this space to send.  In this way, you don't have to play with the length of the model, image size, rate, etc..  It will match automatically.  It will send on all audio and video files suitable for EI and put them in a new comp for you.

  Then more change in AE and it will update back in first.

  I would suggest Googling DL workflows, because there are some "stuff" like with several AE projects related with 1 sequence, etc..
