Today, I took my macbook pro in repair at my local apple store. The confirmation e-mail has someone else's name in the customer information field. About 3 years ago we inherited a phone number of a family with this incorrect name and suffered false calls for several months until we have fixed most of the databases by explaining - some calls still come 3 years later - but few and far between. Now Apple use the another name of family as my customer details and combining them with my apple computer ownership - very disturbing sound.

I called customer service and explained, and they said it was a matter for the store - which politely declined saying that it was not for them. So I went back customer services simply listened to try to explain what the problem might be not to offer a way forward - so I asked for details to this written with a manager was refused - but and when they realized that they couldn't handle my investigation, they put me through a person of higher rank who has offered to switch me to someone else - this has been repeated several time - with me explaining each time - was then put into a queue to a senior - 35 minutes later the appeal was discontinued - no call back.

Then I phone again - and still once explained - and was recalled and placed in a queue - 20 minutes later, a senior official said who kindly told me to feedback to apple for on the web. I just filled out the feedback form and subject - only to be told that they can respond individually. Please can someone advise how I can contact someone who can take my problem on board?  To be honest, this is my first apple device - and now I know why their profits start to slide.

But the fact that you had posted in the thread tells me it's something on your machine. Did you check your system for malware? Any other strange events on your computer? Check the event viewer logs?

  • Breach of Security Sandbox to access the service module remains localhost in the dev environment

    Our application has a "main" module with a link button, and clicking each button link load different modules in the main content area.

    So a single module, we get a Security Sandbox Violation when we try to do a post of several part of the image data.

    I can't find something different on this module, the other modules multipart posts fine.

    I added thre SWF and various files (for example containing the parent folder, etc.) to Flash Player global settings, but no luck. We have added a liberal area file but still no luck.

    BTW, we use ModuleLoader, we should ModuleManager?

    Had a minor shock after I discovered that the access permissions default to the "limited users" in "C:\Windows\" and "C:\Program files\" are raised by the image automatically XP - Pro installed on my Tecra A6.

    Default access permissions to the NTFS file in "C:\windows" and "C:\Program files" for "A limited number of users" should not have permissions "File/writing data Creation" or "Creation of folders/adding data. This opens up for what is called dll redirection attacks (ref: http://blogs.msdn.com/aaron_margosis/)

    When you install a Win XP a normal retail or OEM Windows XP cd these two folders are special protected by this measure (not allowing the permissions listed for limited users). Installation procedure of your image work it around (in established Microsoft) measure and open breaches in security.

    Now I have to drop all these permissions and hope that all of the utilities of your work for limited users after that that, otherwise you get a very unhappy customer on your hands. ;)

    Thanks for the information. I have a common user of Toshiba and I have never heard of such attacks to redirect m .dll.
    However, I think that if each user install antivirus software (nothing unusual at the time; everyone should use) and activate the Microsoft Windows updates and OS firewall should be safe.

    I have Windows Vista (service pack 2) installed on my laptop Toshiba Satellite U500 - 10L (PSU5EE). Recently, I encountered a serious problem; Password Admin Windows is vulnerable through the Start Menu (hit F12 when you turn on the laptop) machine, I mean anyone with a USB/CD boot can crack the password.

    Now I would restrict access to the Start Menu - or remove the boot by USB/CD options in the Menu. I just installed the updated BIOS (2.5 WIN), but unfortunately the BIOS provides no options to restrict access to or to modify the Start Menu. I find it is a major breach of security, is their anyway to deal with this problem?

    Yesterday, out of nowhere, my iPad has reported that my ID Apple has been locked for security reasons. Oddly, this lock seems to apply only to the Game Center. All other services I could think uses works very well. I tried to go through the procedure of unlocking, but apparently I don't remember the answer to one of my security questions (I find a strange breach of security practices normal told me how I was wrong) and the password reset email would have been sent did not show.     I am trying to write a code that works with other data in NTSF streams. Similar to this Microsoft makes This example . The attached VI is a simple example of code - open the second stream "metadata" and write something. However, open them VI LabVIEW (2009 SP1) always returns error when I try to open the stream.

    So, he knows that LabVIEW (at least 2009) does not work with NTFS streams? If possible, please tell me how.

    I agree - ADS is tantalizing close to a very elegant solution.  I hadn't really looked at their use for something useful - I always considered them a breach of security and a hold-over of formerly Mac resource fork.

    Another suggestion that may or may not work for you:

    Have you looked into the TDMS files?  They were designed to be a solution to this type of problem - if you don't have to sacrifice performance for convenience to keep everything together metadata is stored with the binary data.  I think that how LabVIEW implements TDMS read and write is faster that in general, you would be able to achieve since we are able to bypass some of the regular windows caching etc.  TDMS is not specific to LabVIEW but to be able to open files in Excel or offline like DIAdem analysis tools.

    Hello.  My printer is in working order as far as I know.  However, the red light keeps coming up and I can't print a shipping label.  It started when Microsoft 'security' did not like programs in Java, calling it a breach of security.  I deleted the new form of Java and installed the older form, the printer has worked for a few days and now has the red light again all the time.  I ran all the tests to restart the label printer 100 times I thought it was a problem of Java, not, I'm not sure that it isn't Microsoft.  Need help please, I need my printer.  I can print a label on my other printer paper very well.  The Java "circle ride" on ebay and it lets me choose my Zeba LP2844 label printer, sometimes it works most of the time it isn't.  I called ebay, nothing helps.  Thank you, Susan
