• Instead of Briefcase files

  I use folders instead of briefcases. Now I can create is no longer records but Briefcase appear and I have not changed anything. Please advise on how to get back into the folder options.  Don't like the option of the Briefcase.

  I suggest using the command prompt and try to create a new folder and check if you can create a.

  To do this, follow the steps below:

  a. Click Start.
  b in the start search box type CMD and press to enter.
  c. type cd... publicity and press ENTER, repeat the cd... and press ENTER until you have c:
  d. now, type the following at the command prompt: mkdir folder_name

  Here, folder_name is the name of desired folder

  e. check if the folder is created in the C drive.

• I have 2 problems.

  1. I can no longer create a folder on my hard drive. When I right click where I want the new folder to go, a menu appears. In this menu, there is an option "NEW". When I click on NEW, the ability to add a new folder is gone. Instead, it says 'empty '. There are options to add zip and Briefcase files, but nothing to add a folder.

  2. when I was unable to add a folder, I decided to do a system restore. After choosing my restore point, system restore software started and he said that it is ready to restore my computer to the restore point but just, he is sitting there with the present notification and does nothing. I let it run for about 5-7 minutes, but nothing happened so I just restarted my computer.

  If anyone has a solution to problems or ideas, I would be happy.

  You have discovered a problem with Windows 7. To resolve this problem, I recommend a program called FileMenu Tools. You can download the portable freeware from here: http://www.softpedia.com/get/PORTABLE-SOFTWARE/System/System-Enhancements/FileMenu-Tools-Portable.shtml .

  After having downloaded and installed the program, you will notice that, by default, each option is checked. I would be much more selective on this subject, otherwise your context menu will be a full page long! When the main window opens, you will see a list on the right side of all the elements that can be added to the context menu. Start weeding through the list and every one to take away, you don't need the United Nationsby checking the box.

  Once you have completed your selection (de-selections) make sure that you click the green check mark in the row of icons at the top of the left window of the interface to 'Apply' of your choice. Once installed, FileMenu Tools overrides file line spacing to the window with line to create a new folder, that can on laptops, is a menu pendulum to FileMenu Tools.

• Briefcase and not being able to open files

  I created a case and sent to a public folder in the office then sent the case to another office.  Added email and document to this file, but now when I try to open it, it says the file is open on another computer and can not be open - or something like that.  No other files are open.  Notice also that in the case in short there are folders with the same name and with the same files? -How can I access this information on just this computer?

  Go in your Briefcase and for all files that are NOT tagged orphan

  Right-click on the file and select Properties.

  Click on the update status tab

  Click Split from Original

  Press Yes and your file is back for an orphan.

  If you wish to continue using the synchronization options with the towel (on 2 or more computers) and you get this message when you try to save a file, close all folders and/or the portfolio himself and you should have access to the towel.

  Location of the sample: C:\users\user\documents\briefcase

  (Briefcase is replaced with the name of your Briefcase)

  If your location is like this: c:\users\john smith\documents\briefcase

  You need to move the Briefcase to another location that does not have spaces inside and if necessary rename your Briefcase is only a single word.

  If the files are actually orphans that the only hope to recover would be to make some sort of data recovery using 3 third party software.

  Note: Using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

  To check if your username is an administrator, go to start / Control Panel / / user accounts and check the information under your name - it will tell you if you are an administrator or not.

  Try to use one of the following free products to remove the file/folder.  Unlocker to: http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Miscellaneous/Unlocker.shtml or file Assassin (works only on files, not folders), http://www.malwarebytes.org/fileassassin.php (with or without forcing the deletion: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/12/27/force-delete-cannot-delete-locked-or-in-used-files-or-folders-with-fileassassin/).
