• Ways to put the application in read-only during the monthly maintenance mode

  We have a situation where, during the maintenance phase every month for 2 or 3 days, I need to put the application in read mode only. We already have the dimension security level applied to each user, but even to users who have write access to certain members on the forms of data etc., the app just can't be read only during this period so that no user can enter data.
  
  I know the application in maintenance mode, all users will be be locked is not what we want. Users should always be able to see the dataforms, reports, etc. So, please let me know your ideas on this.

  and how I will duplicate the last archiving genrated log if I copied all archivelogs just before I start replication?, I don't want to take a new backup simply always use the last generated backup.

  It depends on the settings for the destination of the newspaper archive and archive log format side auxiliary if rman can apply to your archive logs.

  (I normally use rman to back up the archive logs and use the pieces to the auxiliary copy.) During the recovery phase of the cloning process files from archive get restored to the auxiliary archivelog dest and get the format as set out in the pfile (s) on the auxiliary)

• 64 v29 and v26 under Win7 64-bit Firefox bit every night are so slow for broadcast, only 4% of the BW otherwise directed by sam of firefox running Win7 32 bit.

  Under my Windows 7 64-bit OS, I installed the Nightly Build v28 and v29 "internet speed test" and each time, I can only achieve something < 2 Mbit/s for my home WiFi, router gateway that is subject > 56 Mbps. The only Nightly version work was v23 which could reach nearly > 52 Mbit / s. But once I upgrade to higher version v23, all speeds normal I could achieve in nocturnal v23 disappeared. The same issue also plagued firefox v26 under Win 7 64 bit.

  For more information, this does not apply under Win 7 32-bit OS - the same v26 firefox works fine for pure speed of BW near and > 56 Mbps. Why not in 64-bit OS seems to be the main issue?

  What is going on? I appreciate watching you in and help out me on this dilemma. Thank you!

  Hello Shao Ma, when using speedtest.net or a similar site based on flash to measure your speed of connection, then it could be a problem with the protected mode that adobe has implemented for its flash plugin for firefox. Some older versions of f-secure or report of trusteer are known to cause slowdowns with flash, or it could be something similar on your system that interferes (maybe security software that block/sandbox the container used for protected mode, etc...).

  as a solution, you could try to disable the protected mode and see if that makes a difference.

  in case you want to solve the problem more far, it would be preferable to contact adobe support and file a bug at bugbase.adobe.com report (choose 'Adobe Flash Player' as the product & 'Browser Integration' as being the product box), since they will have to better understand the inner workings of flash protected mode and therefore knows what else could be the cause of the problem you saw.

• Error 7 only during the executable to call the library node function

  I'm having some trouble with LabVIEW, creating an executable work of my application. The program communicates with a sensor of moving laser Keyence LK-G5000 series with drivers provided by Keyence. When you run the program in the development environment, the program runs without any problem. However, when the construction program and run the program with an executable file, the program generates error 7 as shown below:

  

  After looking through the previous posts on error 7 and executable environment on the forums AND I found that a lot of people mentioned that the development environment and runtime environment use different path structures. I also found a guide of NOR to solve this problem here:

  However, after following these instructions, I always get error 7 only when executing the program in an executable environment.

  I've never used any .lvlib library in the past before, so I don't know if this may have been the issue (it was provided by Keyence.) The library includes 2 private screws that can only be called within the library, so I don't think I can go without using the library. There are screws in the library that use the DLL files (which are also included in this same library) through the node library function call in LabVIEW that appear not to be included when I create an executable file. Adding even manually the DLL files to the folder where the executable generates the same error 7.

  Is this what I remember in my code to allow the program to function within the executable?

• flight simulator 2004 will not load or run during hours of daylight Simulator, will ONLY during the hours of darkness.

  I've been using fs9 since 2005 and did not have any problem of an uninstall and the recharge could not or would not fix so far. I am running Windows XP Professional on a card, Gigabyte, AMD triple core cpu, NVIDIA 9400GT and 2 gig of ram graphics card. Last week so that on a flight simulated Auora Oregon in Livermore, California the program during the final approach simply broke back to high office as if the program had never been launched. The flight was at night and since then, the program will not allow a flight during the day (simulator time) it will allow selection of aircraft, flight planning and will start the loading of the field but will break back into high office again as if the program had not been launched. I rebooted fs9 several times as well as several other pieces of software (ultimate field real extreme weather events, mega city) but the problem persists. NO error messages are given or shown. Other than this problem embarrassing and extremely embarrassing performance of the software is superior. ANY THOUGHTS ON THE ISSUE?

  I suggest you do a system restore on your computer, choose a restore point when the Flight Simulator was working fine.

  a. Click Start, type system restore in the search box and then in the list click on the system restore program.

  b. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

  (c) in the System Restore dialog box, click on choose a different restore point and then click Next (choose are the restore time when it was working fine).

  d. in the list of restore points, click a restore point created before you started having the problem, and then click Next.

  e. click Finish.

• Error read-only during the Windows XP networking with a Windows Vista-based computer

  Help, please.  We have set up a working group, the destop with Windows XP behaves as the server and laptop with Windows Vista is the other computer.

  We can share and open all files.

  The problem is with a mortgage loan software. (Chalice)  On the Vista computer, when you try to open a file, we get the error "the file is used by someone else.  You want to open the file in read-only Mode? "We have worked with their Tech Support who insists on the fact that it's a Microsoft set up the problem with the server computer.  In their diagnosis, they say that the cause may be "the server has locked files or you don't have full access to the records.  Their Technical Support remotely connected to our two computers and verified that we have the network set in place correctly-"everyone" has full control of the files.  Both computers have disabled the Windows Firewall.  How can I check if the file is locked by the server?  And why would he block specifically for mortgage loan software?  Any other troubleshooting help would be most appreciated.  They have guaranteed that this software can run on both Windows XP Vista computers & a set.

  Another question - when I right click on the folder that this error message, and then click Properties, on the general tab, attributes, the 'Read only' box is populated with a solid green box.  It can also be a check mark or a cache.  I deleted the solid green box and tick, apply settings, but still no luck.  What is the difference between the solid green box and the checkbox for that?

• Windows Media Player sound only during video playback

  Windows Media Player won't PLAY VIDEO (MOVIES); ONLY SOUND CAN BE HEARD.

  Can someone please?  I go crazy - my windows media player will not play anything except the sound on videos (films are so far the problem).  She claims codecs are updated automatically, I'm too scared to download some unknown codec. I tried everything I know to do and I'm not too bad to understand such things.  I am now at a loss.  What is the problem here? I WILL RESPECT ALL THE SOLUTIONS YOU HAVE TO OFFER!  From what I can tell, they are my videos (movies) transferred from the cd to the media player.  Videos of "sample" provided pre work ok.  My films all have the extension .avi at the end, that's why I don't understand why they will play only the sound of the film, not the actual Visual part. . AVI should be accompanied by my windows media player.  As I said, I'm pretty decent to deal with such things as a result of working with a lot of "technicians" in recent years; This is why I do not bother anyone here, but I am at a loss for what to do.   Until a few days ago, this problem didn't exist - I know.  My CD/DVD drive is no longer recognized in Windows Explorer, BIOS or Device Manager.  It doesn't, however, appears briefly in Windows Explorer in the analysis of the security of the computer.  It allows to open/close, etc.  and when it is visible, I am able to open the drive and see the contents of the CD.  Then it disappears again.  The light flashes indicating that he works and I can hear it trying to read the CD.  I uninstalled iTunes because I read somewhere that this may have been the issue - but that didn't work.  I tried the system restore, registry cleaners, removal of upper/lower case filters from the registry, used the program Fixit found on the site Web of Microsofts etc and still no luck.  Any ideas?  The computer is a gateway SX2850 (?) with Windows 7 Home Premium installed.

  Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both

• Begin broadcasting only when people are watching?

  I got a fitted page that houses a live webstream nightly music in a place. Every evening (except Sunday) the data flow active from 20:00 - 02:00 standard time. Some nights, I noticed there is no flow, but the stream plays every day no matter what. To save bandwidth per month, I try to understand how single stream if Somebody's watching.

  So basically the camera would record locally, and when someone connects to the site said something that the server starts broadcasting. If the person leaves, the server stops broadcasting. Has anyone tried this before? I use Influxis to my media streaming, and they assured me that I can run scripts on the server side.

  Right now I use 3 on CAMERA doing the streaming to the server.

  I would appreciate any help or a point in the right direction

  After some tinkering aside server, we were able to create some sort of solution. You see OUT features reduency, allowing it to automatically reconnect to Flash Media Server, defined in the FMS URL field, if disconnected. So we came up with is, on the onDisconnect for any client event, we check the number of clients connected. If the number of connected clients is equal to one, check us if the customer stays a customer OUT. If it's a client OUT sign us the user OUT.

  When OUT trying to reconnect it can't unless there is a present spectator. Once a viewer is present the OUT could connect and spread.

  I contacted both Podbean and iTunes and each said the other issue.

  When you play directly from iTunes it loads/buffers forever and never actually plays. iTunes suggested that either he is Podbean try to force it to download instead of flow or it's a matter of encoding. My last episode was about 8MB in size and they are all .m4a files - this could be the problem?

  I checked the file multimedia episode 4 - it's not to force a download, but there is a temporary redirect 302 in place and maybe it's what causes the problem. Sometimes the redirections work OK in the store and sometimes they aren't - I can't say why that is.

  In any case the server seems not to handle the byte range requests (the method used by iPhones) and although this would not affect iTunes on a computer, iPhones will probably have difficulty with the files. I'm afraid you'll need to convince Podbean to provide a direct URL, or to find another server.

  Anyone else running appassure noted that the meter of deduplication is apparently imaginary? I'm going to prosecute and wait 3-4 weeks to get anywhere, I know, but I just did some calculations on all my carrots and it is quite obvious that the total of protected data * compression = used space on the repository. So what is deduplication meter 47% indicating?

  Although on my replicated core is the used space is much closer to what we would expect with compression and deduplication... well on this basis, the percentages of compression and deduplication are completely different and don't match anything I can find.

  That's it, after that I have been instructed by the support to rebuild the repository because our total protected data were lower than the space used on the repository if our deduplication and compression read more than 30% each.

  1. deduplication - indicating how many records have been structure since the last job "to maintain the repository."

  2. compression - indicating the difference between protected and space used in the repository, including deduplication.

  NOTE: With each volume image transferred to the volume, these metadata metadata is no compression and not deduplication.

  It would be possible with trigger + connection event at the DB level.
  Make sure that the user and the time if allow you it, proceed with other session trigger the application error - he'll get session have left.

• Pavilion G7-1355dx: card network problem

  I had previously posted the question below and took the lead on mark as resolved. The answer I got was good, but because of many different configurations of my model of my laptop model, it was not correct for mine.

  I have an old HP Pavilion 1355dx G7 and I use it during the games XBOX a stream. It has only one network adapter Wireless 2.4 ghz, if coupled with that much congestion in my neighborhood, it broadcasts only during the flawless. New info: my laptop has an AMD processor, not an Intel processor.

  This laptop does support 5 GHz wirelesss network cards compatible with AMD? I am hoping to move to a 5 ghz however I want to make sure that it supports and is on the white list before I buy one.

  Thanks for the info. That's what I was afraid of. Can be an excuse to get a new laptop and let the kids use it. It is not a big deal, for the most part, it works well, but you can see in sensitive applications.
  
  I used an app WiFi Analyzer and each channel is overused. I'm surrounded by more than a dozen networks (tons of apartments) and use channel 11 that is congested, but less crowded than 1 and 6.
