Broadcom Teaming 5709C emits in Win2008 R2

Hi all

We currently have a Dell R710 which is used for a SQL Server database. It's a future production system that will be widely used, so we want to allow the grouping on the 5709 4 network adapters that are present on the R710. But we have serious problems with the grouping. As for the present time, all network adapters are connected to the same Cisco 2960 G switch. They are all on the same VLAN. In the near future, we plan to buy another switch for redundancy, but it is not relevant here.

I downloaded and installed the latest firmware of the NETWORK adapter from the Dell website (link)

I downloaded the latest Broadcom and BINS of Broadcom drivers web site ( link )

Then, I decided to give it a try to team up. I fire up to 3 TRAYS, create a team with all my 4 cards in without LiveLink enabled.

BINS he does things and a new card NETWORK load balance is created in Windows. This new NETWORK adapter is DHCP so I open the properties, edit and enter a static IPv4. Everything works smoothly for a few hours and then no responses from the server over the network. I use IPMI to go on the server, it will not connect, the server seems to be crashed. I hard it reboot and everything is back online, including NIC load balancing.

It remains very well for about a day and then again down. I then decide to disable the grouping and executed on 1 NETWORK card at the moment. According to the web sites of Dell and Broadcom, I have all the latest drivers, firmware and software. Windows Update.

Any ideas why our server blocks randomely like that? There is nothing in the Windows event log and no BSOD to analyze. I can confirm that gels are due to the team, because the server was stable for 2 months before I activated 2 days ago from grouping. Should I have turned something off before activating the grouping?

Thanks for any help,

Guillaume.

To resolve this problem, we made the following

  1. Uninstall older versions of the Broadcom software
  2. Update Firmware - Network_Firmware_THCKX_WN_7.4.8.exe is the Firmware.  (it takes 10 minutes)  http://www.Dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/DriverDetails/product/PowerEdge-2950?driverId=THCKX&osCode=WNET&FILEID=3176151152&LanguageCode=en&CategoryID=NI
  3. Driver is Bcom_LAN_17.4.0_Windows_64_17.4.0.9.exe - unzip and run the Setup program, include the option of BASF.  http://www.Dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/DriverDetails/product/PowerEdge-2950?driverId=7WFK2&osCode=LHS64&FILEID=3176150992&LanguageCode=en&CategoryID=NI
  4. Uninstall both Broadcom network interface cards using Device Manager to remove all links, research material and it will be re - detect the.
  5. Configure a new team using the new tool of Broadcom (BASC). Then set up the new card of the ASSOCIATION with the necessary parameters.

Now, we made team too. Hope you have similar success TTIME1

  • How to install additional network drivers?

    Hello

    Newbie question...

I recently installed VMServer 2.0 on an IBM server, which has a Broadcom BCM 5709C NetXtreme GigE network adapater (2 x).

After I installed Windows 2003 SP2, the VM host environment, detects only AMD PCNET card.

This adapter is able to connect to the host.

Please let me know how do I install additional network drivers.

    Thank you

    Chris

    Hi Chris,

    Welcome to the forums.

VMware solutions never present physical network cards to the guests, but only the emulated cards. The operating system detects the virtual card, and most of the time, is able to install it with the driver of a standard distribution. Your Windows Server has detected and installed the device AMD, which should be OK. So do not try to install another, especially the Broadcom.

You specify which network the guest will be connected by using the configuration of the VM from VMware. Then you decide if you attach the guest to the public network or to a private. If your virtual machine connects to the host, take a look at the network configuration of your VMware Server.

    It will be useful.

Hello guys! I need assistance with a recently purchased HP Pavilion running on windows 10 15. While trying to update my Broadcom Wi - Fi card via the HP support assistant, the installation has failed and left me no Wi - Fi. Could you point me to the correct driver, I need (hardware ID: PCI\VEN_14E4 & DEV_4365 & SUBSYS_2230103C & REV_01) as well as help on how to install it properly, as the automatic and manual installation have the unfortunate habit of neglect and delay...
    Thank you very much!

Unfortunately, I don't have any other suggestions for you to try.

At this point, you can back up files that you do not lose and perform a system recovery.

  • Dell N2024 - NIC Teaming (LAG, LACP)

Can you point me to some documents or provide the steps how to create team on Dell N2000 Series switch ports.

I set up a team of the NIC on a server r2 Windows Server 2012.  I need to know what needs to be configured on the N2000 Dell series switch to make sure it's working properly.  It is my understanding that you need to configure the server and on the ports of the switch stack.  In my case, I'm going to a team member of the server connected to port 1 of the switch 1 and the other plugged into port 1 of the switch 2.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hello

It depends on what mode of grouping you use on the server. If you use the Windows team work construction you can choose between independent, does not require any static configuration or on the switch and LACP what to do. Broadcom and Intel Group also have similar options. To configure a switch port channel, you select the ports you want and use the channel-group command to add them to a port channel.

I created a team with suite ABEC 3.

    My network have 2 VLANS.

At this stage, I could ping my server network, and I can ping the server in my network.

When I defined the three ports of the switch (where three cards are connect) as LASG and I defined in belonging to a VLAN these three ports whose status is F, I ping the server from the network, but I can't ping the server network.

  • XPS 8300 nine connects to the Broadcom Netlink Communication card only after restarting 3 - 4 times at cold start.

    Hello

    I just bought a new XPS 8300.

After woeking OK a few days, now it connects to the Broadcom Netlink Communication card only after restarting 3 - 4 times at cold start.

    Someone has the same problem?

All other computers in the House connect from the first shot. (two cell phones and another office.) They have much slower computers.

In the beginning, I have re-installed the driver (DVD and downloaded), but not that's the problem.

The computer must have a little hot.

When it does connect, Test the Dell tool DOES NOT SHOW (does not appear in the list of tests) Broadcom NetLink Gigabite Ethernet card.

I'm a little disappointed, it's a brand new computer, I was expecting more problems from the beginning.

    Thanks, Cristian, Montreal, Canada

    All,

According to the received update, please call Support technical and would take appropriate action.

The fix is based on case to case, so I would ask all those who face this problem to call tech support for your region.

The technical team sent details to the technical team and the TS process for this issue should go smoothly.

FYI: I was not provided with a patch, please contact Dell Technical Support for more details.

  • Failure of issue and pilot Intel TEAM

I was going through updates on my servers via the Dell OpenManage Essentials and decided to go ahead with the update of the requested network driver:

    Network_Driver_HP103_WN64_16.5.0_A00

During the installation, I got and error reading 'failed to install.  Missing or corrupt file: HELP. CABIN.  I clicked on OK and the installation read as "successful" but wiped my TEAM and connections.  I don't have a Broadcom cards so cannot the team using them.  I have Intel Gigabit and 10 4 P X 540/I350 NICs installed without grouping option.  I went to a configured a NIC unique static run for now, but I need to get the TEAM to work again.

    Any suggestions?

    BillandMisty78,

After researching the issue, I suggest you do the following.

    1. Rename or delete the following folders:
      "C:\Program Intel.
      "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Intel.

    2. Export and delete the following registry key:
      HKLM\Software\Intel

    3. Right-click on the installation of Intel and run as Adminpackage.

After the update, it should work fine. Let me know how it goes.

  • ESXi 5.5 nic teaming/LAG with trunking does not but it works on ESX 4.0.  Both are on the same switch. What gives?

I have two hosts (vhost1 = ESX 4.0, vhost2 = 5.5 ESX) both are configured for the Group and both connected to a switch of 1544 Adtran L3 (named sw01).  vhost1 has been in production for several years with the config below and has been solid as a rock.  I'm trying to reproduce the installation of grouping/collage on vhost2 and it does not work when are associated but will work when you are using a single NIC (with or without aggregation).

To be more specific about what does not work, two virtual servers have "Network server" (vlan 8) defined as a group of ports. Both physical and virtual servers on the same vlan cannot ping or resolve queries arp for virtual machines on vhost2.    Everything that is sent from a different subnet can connect to the virtual machines on each virtual server.

So the question is this: why not ESX 5.5 works as ESX 4.0 when the configs are also near identical, as I can make them and they are connected to the same switch?

Thanks for any input you can provide!

    Hello

Do you share the vmnic for ESXi management and network of the VM?

Try to follow the steps in this KB: VMware KB: NICs using EtherChannel grouping allows intermittent network connectivity in ESXi

Trying to team adapters using EtherChannel, network connectivity is disrupted on an ESXi host. This problem occurs because grouping NIC properties will not propagate to the network management portgroup in ESXi.

When you configure the ESXi host for grouping of NETWORK cards in attributing to the road based on ip hashload balancing, this configuration is not propagated to the portgroup management network.

    Workaround

Note: to reduce the possibility network loss please change the route based on the hash of IP using this method of balancing load vSwitch

    1. Close all ports in the physical switch team leaving a single port as active.
    2. Change the Route based on ip hash vSwitch and load balancing management Portgroup.
    3. Set up the physical switch port channel.
    4. Activate the physical switch ports.

Notes: Using this method will avoid a loss of connection when you switch to a port channel. Also make sure that under the properties for vmk portgroup # used for network management you tick the box "Enabled".

  • Dell Optiplex 745 with Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx Gigabit Controller with Windows 7 x 64 host cannot fill network

All, I am new to the forum but have been reading up on top of a problem that had led me into a wall.

I'm trying to create a development environment that uses VMWare Workstation 7.0.1 (and I tried with 7.0.0 before, leading me to)

update in the hope of a quick solution) as a development of imaging and the test bench.  The system is a Dell Optiplex 745, upgraded to 8 GB of

RAM.  Unfortunately, it seems that the biggest problem is the network card.

I tried several different operating systems, and all DHCP requests are found in the AUTOMATIC private IP addressing.  This is even after I implemented a custom adapter (VMNet2) that fills explicitly to this network card problem.  I disabled VMNet0 and all because this dish was not working.  I have read some relevant

messages, but nothing seems to help.  This included the http://communities.vmware.com/message/675649 and more

positions listed on the registry settings.  I don't know what to do at this point.

So, for those who do not know the Broadcom driver issues, they are apparently many.  It is important to disable the unloading, but

I'm not able to find the settings in the post linked above.  It's quite similar to the OP for this thread.  I'm not

know if it's a difference of conductor between the 32-bit and 64-bit implementations.  So, I updated from the version of the driver

12.2.2.1 (b57nd60a.sys) of 10.100.0.0 (I think, can not driver rollback now to check because I need to work on VMS for urgent

projects as soon as POSSIBLE).  So, as I said, I was unable to find the parameters of this post

    ()http://communities.vmware.com/thread/191085) mentioned below:

    • Large Send Offload (IPv4)

    • Large Send Offload v2 (IPv4)

    • Large Send Offload v2 (IPv6)

What I found were these parameters:

    • Flow control (Auto, I tried to disable)

    • Priority and VLAN (priority & VLAN enabled; I tried priority and VLAN disabled)

    • Speed and Duplex (Knew better than to mess around here, has made the problems in the past, retired to Auto)

    • VLAN ID (always 0)

    • Wake Up Capabilities (Magic Packey; no one tried)

    • Unloading ARP (Enable; I tried to disable)

    • NS unloading (Enable; I tried to disable)

I tried enabling / disabling all, specially those mentioning the unloading, all day without success.  This did not help.

Later, I tried to add DontAddDefaultGateway, EnabledRSS and DisableTaskOffload keys to my CurrentControlSet on the

host.  For some reason any DisableTaskOffload shows in the regedit, GUI, not the export of text.  Don't know what this means, and I'm too

tired of care at this point.

I'm sorry, I completely forgot to reply to this topic yesterday (get distracted by a matter of work).    I'll be back today and noticed that you have marked this as answer.  The root cause of the problem was therefore one MAC address per port restriction put in place by your network management team?

  • Framework of biometric Latitude E6420 - Broadcom USH drivers windows

    Hi experts,

Ask you to check this old_post

    http://en.community.Dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3518/p/19485564/20278666.aspx#20278666

I have the same problem, even after you have reinstalled the drivers in the order as suggested by Dell.

    I installed "CV_WBF_Setup_Y2GT8_64bit_ZPE.exe".
[1] double-click on the .exe with option of compatibility in windows 7 and the checkbox on the value

    run as administrator (best option).
[2] click on ok for a Floder pop-up.
[3] now install you the driver (this will clear the yellow color material highlighted in)

    Device Manager)
[4] reBOOT and then install the Firmware (set to the same level provided firmware along

    with driver).
[5] reboot-> connection (with password :-|) and verify biometric devices in control pannel.)
you try to check biometric devices in Control Panel and lettering.

you might get the ERROR below:
"configuration of broadcom ush host components BrcmFMA.exe - by-side is incorrect.
    Details correct as below:
Activation context generation failed for "C:\Program Corporation\Broadcom Broadcom

N32', version = '9.0.21022.8' not found. Please use sxstrace.exe for detailed

    diagnosis.

solution is to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x 64).

now the problem is that the finger print data are saving :(
I continued to ask dell support team.
the big joke, it's what they call it as OFF FIELD.
    :(

    Crazy technical support

    Hi guys,.

OK Dell has finally released drivers for Windows 8.  Its a few steps so here's how I worked on all our machines.

Uninstall the Dell Data Protection if you have it installed.

Download the firmware and driver here:

    Driver: www.dell.com/.../latitude-e6420

    Firmware: www.dell.com/.../latitude-e6420

Extract the firmware and install it.  You must run it in high command line and be sure to select the x 64 Installer.

    Reset

Once installed, you can install the driver from Dell ControlVault

Restart and you should now see the biometric device.  The software will be Broadcom now instead of Dell and you can save your fingerprints.

    Kind regards

    Ralu

I would like to know if there is a way (setting) or an application that can automatically send an sms (txt) to my team?

A 3rd party app called IFFT may enforce an assortment of things, among them actions based on SMS.

For some recipes, as they call it, take a look on their website: https://ifttt.com/sms

    Your question

This e-mail from the thunderbird support team or a fake email?

Thunderbird support is not a provider of e-mail and does not send a message like this. I suspect that it is a scam.
