BSO in ASO by EPMA

Hello

I'm looking for a way in which I can copy my plan of HPB BSO to an ESSBASE ASO by EPMA contour. I know there is a wizard in the Console of Regional service, but copied via essbase outline is reflected not in EPMA. If you are looking for a way in which I can get in EPMA made itself.

Thank you.

No idea why you even don't manage applications of Essbase in EPMA, but couldn't convert you the BSO app to a new application of ASO in EA and then use the transformation EPMA Wizard in the workspace to convert classic EPMA.

See you soon

    Try something like

    CASE WHEN IS([Year].CurrentMember, [Current]) THEN
    [MCEB] - [Net_In] + [Net_Out]
    ELSE
    [MCEB].lag(1) END

  • Performing calculations BSO against ASO

which is better to use if you need to run large calculations? (Essbase Version 11)

Endowments have been introduced in ASO in 11.1.2. They are made in memory and create slices of data. In theory, this could be faster than the allowance made in OSB, especially if you agg cube to get what is allocated. In addition, you bring in the cells of a few blocks. I can't give you an answer honost because I have not yet tried large allocations of ASO. I will say that if they are complicated, it will take a lot more work to implement in ASO by BSO. In addition, if you actually use the function of allocation in OSB, it can be quite slow. You also get the question of creation of block at the time.

I guess that the onl; y thing I can advise is to implement tests in ASO and BSO and see which works better.

  • Migration of the hierarchy of BSO to aso

    Hello

Can you please guide me if there is a way I can extract a few members of the hierarchy of a dimension in application OSB in a flat file, I can use this flat file to build the ASO hierarchy.

Thanks for your help and your time.

You can use the Applied OLAP outline for this extractor. You could also use Smart View or MDX, and then reformat the output manually.

  • BSO to ASO formula conversion

    Hi all

I'm new with the ASO MDX formulas and I can't seem to understand the problem here for the help NOT in the formula.

When I use IS in syntax of the formula withdraws, but when I replace it with NOT the slightest mistake what I'm doing wrong here? can someone help me reach this goal

CASE WHEN (IS([scenario]. CurrentMember, [real])) THEN

    ([ACCT1] * [ACCT3]) + [ACCT2]

    END

Basically, with the first line, I'm trying to achieve in OSB is IF (NOT (@ISMBR("Actual"))), but I can't convert that into MDX

Any help will be greatly appreciated and links or documents that you can share for my to improve my skills MDX will also be appreciated

    Thank you

I don't not a ton of experience with MDX, but my understanding is that IT is a function, it returns True or False, but is NOT an operator who basically returns a Boolean value, try using this:

BOX WHEN (IS NOT ([scenario]. CurrentMember, [real])) THEN

    ([ACCT1] * [ACCT3]) + [ACCT2]

    END

There is useful information about MDX in Essbase Technical Reference

  • BSO in ASO formula Conversion - need help

ASO is not my forte... I'm trying to get a simple formula to work in cube ASO as part of the OSI - & gt; Conversion of the ASO.

If this is the entity of level 0, the formula is (last shipped (PU) * Volume of the part)... works very well.
If its higher level, it should simply add up the values of his children. The OSI equivalent that we use generally is @SUM (@CHILDREN (@CURRMBR("Entity"))).
I tried the same thing in the ASO MDX script as shown below, it is not giving me good result... of ideas why this is not working?

    Thanks in advance.

    Formula Member*.

    BOX WHEN ISLEVEL (Entity.CurrentMember, 0) THEN+.
Last shipped (PU) Volume of the part x+.

    Sum (Children (Entity.CurrentMember))+.
    END+.

Have you tried to specify how you want the NAP?

    for example

CASE WHEN ISLEVEL (Entity.CurrentMember, 0) THEN
Last shipped (PU) x Volume of the part
    ON THE OTHER
Sum (Children (Entity.CurrentMember), [measures]. [Part Volume])
    END

also I'm not sure if the SUM is correct. This might work as it certainly specified tuples:

    SUM ({Products.CurrentMember.children}, [Measures]. [Part Volume])

    It will be useful,

  • Convert cubic ASO EPMA

    Hi all

I have a request of ASO cube created in 11.1.2.1, I want to migrate to 11.1.2.3 which was an easy task by creating the app in 11.1.2.3 and the outline of the migration.

Now I want to convert this app EPMA in 11.1.2.3, my question is

-Is there way to convert a cube ASO EPMA? like the classic Wizard EPMA in EPMA

-Can I create a new ASO in EPMA? and if so how will import xmls in the ASO.

    Thank you

If it's a standard ASO essbase application then it should appear, if it is an ASO created by planning then it is not supported with only classic EPMA.

  • BSO & ASO

Why have we not maintain an ASO and OSB for Application
all calculations in a (BSO) and ASO just for reporting... What's sole purpose... I guess it will be good for 100 user... what happens if we have 9 users and data is very very less so, that we must use this

pls recommend it in what scenarios need to maintain these BSO and ASO as format

"Why do we maintain an ASO and OSB for Application.

You have not, it was a decision made by the person who designed and implemented the solution. Is it the right choice? Hard to say without a full review of the system.

You know the difference between the OSB and ASO, so you need to know if there are features in your needs can be performed in one or the other. Looks like you have a large sparse data, but some requirements for complicated Calc. The few large data will be too much for BSO and ASO can't do the calcs complex, so it sounds like one that built, he came upward with a way to load large scattered data model ASO, agg, then move some data to OSI for complex Calc and then maybe move the results to ASO, or just report at the same time I do not know. Anyway you can't get rid of a if it's going to prevent you from getting the results you need. Since ASO cannot make complex Calc you need to look and see if you can get into BSO app and see how long it will take to process. BSO may be large and before ASO he had some really large BSO apps. 64 bit OS makes it also easier to have a large BSO databases. The question comes down to how fast you need it to be. I have a big app BSO which lasts 12 hours to process. If this window is ok, then fine, if you want big data and it want agg in less than an hour you might not be a choice.

  • shared members disappear automatically after the deployment of the ASO cube

    Hello

What we were doing as below:

the memerbers dimension are loaded by source for epma odi, and then, we deploy the aso and epma bso cubes.

and the process type in the profile to load dimension members is defined as "merge as primary.

    the question as below:

    (1) initially, the hierarchy of the dimension as it:

    size AA:

    A

    A1

    A2

    A3

This dimension is aso and aso cube deployed successfully.

    (2) the users change the hierarchy of the source table.

changed to below: (just add a parent for A1 and A2 under A initial parent.

    A

    A'

    A1

    A2

    A3

AFTE, this changes, and members are responsible for epma once again, the hierarhy of dimension in epma is as below:

    A

    A'

    A1

    A2

    A1 (Shared)

    A2 (Shared)

    A3

and this process of loading and applications deploy processes run automatically overnight pocess.

I thought that I delete the A1 A2 shared hierarchy and deploy the cube again after overnight charge and deploy processes.

But what I saw in the structure of the aso cube after the party deployed the process is also that:

There no common A2 A1 in the sketch, but just below members in the cube hierarchy in essbase.

    A

    A'

    A1

    A2

    A3

It's really weird, why shared members disappear automatically after deploy and make different hierarchy between epma an essbase outline

    can you help me?

    I have no idea...

EPMA is ASO-> size is set to "multiple hierarchies enabled" otherwise please turn on and then try to deploy.

    Thank you

  • HOW TO LOAD DIMENSIONS / MEMBERS IN ESSBASE ASO REQUEST

    Hello

We are running Oracle EPM 11.1.2.4 and created with success the planning application help EPMA workspace, it is necessary to create a reporting application. We have created a new application of ePMA workspace as essbase ASO and have dimensions of base construction and members of epma itself, the need is to have the same dimensions / members in the application (planning and ASO). My question is:

How to bulk load dimensions / workspace members in Essbae ASO using EPMA / EAS?

    Thank you

    Concerning

    Shahrukh

You must use the same method to load the members that you already use in EPMA, if it's a pure Essbase applications and metadata should be loaded for EPMA and not through the Regional service.

If you already have applications of EPMA, then you would use the same method.

  • MDX function to return the descendants of level 0 for a list of members to ASO

    Hi all

I'm having trouble writing MDX query to generate a list of the members of the level 0 members in a cube ASO. For the generation of the members of level 0 from a member of the same cube, I used DESCENDANTS([XXXXXX],10,LEAVES), but the problem using DESCENDANTS is that it can take only one member as a parameter. I'm looking for is an equivalent of @ILDESCENDANTS (from BSO) at ASO?

    Would appreciate any help.

    Thank you

You can do this with Generate and Descendants.  It is similar to @EXPAND in OSB - take all members (tuples technically, but whatever) in a value and apply a second set-based operation.

    For example:

    {} SELECT ON COLUMNS.

Generate ({[100], [200]}, Descendants ([Product].) CurrentMember, [Product]. Levels (0), SELF)) ON the LINES

  • Partial ASO data export

    Hi Experts

I have a BSO and ASO cubes in my prod environment and unfortunately my BSO cubes got crashes, however I have given to ASO. Would like to export from ASo and load to the OSB, but I don't know how to export a slice of ASO cube data as it does not feature of calc for export. What is the best way to export part of the data of the ASO outside MDX?

Can someone help me since its very urgent and I need to immediately lift the DB?

    Thanks in advance

Since it is a single process, and if the partition you need is enough simply set *, you can also take a copy of your cube ASO and members of the deletion to leave only the range you need. Then export the cube «together» low-cut.

    * This approach works if you need, for example, FY12-> Budget, but not if you need-> Budget FY12 and FY11-> spending actual

If you do not need to export a more complex slice you could clear unwanted data using the feature of 'clear data for region' ASO. I think you'd have to do a 'physical' clear (logical claire will leave zeroes in the erased intersection).
