BSOD from Windows 8 Bootcamp | System thread igdkmd64.sys unhandled exception

Hello

I'm on Windows 8 (which is awesome btw) on my Imac on Bootcamp.
Couple days ago, I installed some Intel graphics... updated via Windows Update. I don't remember the full name of this update, but it has been updated optional. I can't find it in the history of the update or the other

In any case, after this update my computer was crashing each time to wake up from sleep mode

Is there any way to uninstall this particular update or return the system to the State where it was before updating?

  • No option to download the software from windows to Bootcamp Assistant support

    Hi guys,.

IM on a MacBook Pro (retina, 13-inch, early 2015), I just upgraded Windows 8.1 for Windows 10 and my Bluetooth stopped working.

I'm trying to follow the steps of troubleshooting on this page: If you're not certain features of your Mac in Windows - Apple Support

Others on the forum have had this problem and it's where people told them to go and download the latest software of Windows support. But I don't have that option when I open Wizard Bootcamp, this is what I see:

Anyone know why I don't see the option 'Download the latest software of Apple's Windows support' as seen in the troubleshooting page.

Yes, I realized that after I posted the question. The BSOD declares a different file name (aswndisflt.sys) which is connected to avast. Already deleted and the upgrade is now beyond the point where it crashed earlier.

  • BSOD with iaStorA.sys exceptions for system Thread

I have an Inspiron 2350 with Win 8.1.I have had problems with the foregoing and became a system Thread Unhandled Exception. I ran the ePSA tests and all passed.

I updated the machine to win 8 (not easy with a machine that crashes all the time!) But the accidents have persisted. Finally, I turned off acceleration using Intel RST and the accidents stopped.

I upgraded to 8.1 (after jumping through hoops) and everything seems good.

My question is, how does RST interact with Windows? If I turn acceleration and crashes again, I would be able to solve this problem in just turned off, or it could break things again?

In addition, ideas how the DSS can go support him test but fails the system?

    (after a weekend of pain)

    Hi Gordie08,

Looks like you have a SATA driver or incompatible or older chipset that causes the problem. You should be able to solve this problem by updating the appropriate drivers. I'll start with the chipset driver (check Dell downloads) and then update the Intel RST (get from Intel) application.

I lost an important file on the desktop of my PC. I have Windows 7 as operating system. When I tried to do system restore, it asked me to turn on system protection. When I tried to do, I got the error message 0 × 8007007B. Please help me, I need this very urgent and very important file.

    Hello

The error 0x8007007B occurs when the system is configured to store the restore on a wrong path or location points

I also suggest you try the steps and check.

    (a) right click on computer and select Properties.

    (b) click on the System Protection.

    (c) in the list of available drives, see if you have a partition into two (2 times the same partition), one with the word "missing" or "disappeared".

    (d) if so, uncheck this missing partition and it should solve the problem.

If it is only the data (not apps) I use Dropbox. It turned out to be the best way to move things between the side Mac and the bootcamped Windows of my iMac side. I don't see why it would not work to move data from a virtual machine installation of Win to a BootCamp installation.

I use an original version of Windows Xp and I have 1 GB of Ram and 1.8 GHz Pentium 4 processor, now is it possible to upgrade my computer to windows 7 for free? If Yes! How it should be done?

    Hello

There is no free updates for all Windows XP operating systems.

    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Depends on hardware configuration required on later operating systems, and also find out if the manufacturer of the laptop computer is supported and provides drivers for operating systems later as to whether it is possible or feasible to upgrade or not.

There is no update free from XP to Vista, 7, 8.1, or 10.

Forget Vista as support extended for Vista SP2 will end April 2017.

Follow these steps before you buy Windows 7; Windows 7 SP1 to support extended to January 14, 2020.

Microsoft sells more than 7; Try Amazon.com.

Go to your computer / computer laptop manufacturer Web site and see if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop.

If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.

Run the "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.

Follow these steps before buying and upgrading (new installation) of Windows 8.1; extended support ends on January 10, 2023.

Check if the manufacturer of your computer/laptop has Windows 8.1 drivers available for your model.

If this is not available, Windows 8.1 not install and work properly for you.

There is a lot of information in this first link from Microsoft:

Download and run the Windows Upgrade Assistant 8.1 of to see if your machine is compatible Windows 8.1 and read the update for Windows 8.1: FAQ here

  • Windows\System32\Config\System is corrupted or missing from WinXP Pro

I can't start Windows Xp Pro. I get the following error message:

Windows\System32\Config\System is corrupted or missing. How can I fix the problem?

    Hello krazykat9999,

We get this error when you are either unable to see the registry of the system hive or he is actually corrupt.

To remedy this, we need a Windows XP CD.  If you do not have a Windows XP CD you can borrow one from a friend for repair purposes.  If we are unable to get the CD anyway, there is another process that we can use.  Please let us know and we will send you this information as well if necessary.

To boot into the recovery console, use the following article:
Description of the Windows XP Recovery Console for advanced users

Once connected, use the chkdsk command to check the disk for errors.
This will be a certain amount of time and should not be interrupted:

    CHKDSK C:/p

Again, this will take some time to complete.

If this does not work, please see the following article to get back to a backup copy of the registry:
How do I recover from a corrupted registry that prevents Windows XP startup

Let us know if you have any questions about it.

    Best regards

My camera Olympus only works with Apple's Quick Time 7.  Is it possible to make it work with my operating system from Windows XP?

Apple QuickTime 7 works is because. MOV is the Apple
    QuickTime format.

QuickTime. MOV files can cause problems with Windows Media Player.
And... If you plan to try editing with Movie Maker... the files should
be converted to the. WMV format.

No guarantee, but the following decoder might allow Windows Media
Reader to read your. MOV files. Only problem is... it is not freeware to retail.

Convert the. MOV files to the. WMV format may be worth a try:

There are many converters available on the net... some
    free... some detail.

The following freeware converter is just one example:

(FWIW... it's always a good idea to create a system)

    Format Factory (freeware)
    http://www.videohelp.com/tools/Format_Factory
(the 'direct link' is faster download)
(the file you want to download is: > FFSetup295.zip<>
    (FWIW... installation..., you can uncheck
('all' boxes on the final screens)
    (Windows XP / Vista / 7)

First, you will need to decompress the file or just open the
    Drag > FFSetup295.exe< out="" of="" the="">
and drop it on your desktop. To install left click.

Next, after the download and installation of Format
Factory... you can open the program and
left click on the toolbar, the "Option" button and
"Select an output folder to" / apply / OK.
(this is where you find your files after they)
    are converted)

Drag and drop your video clips on the main screen...

Select "all to WMV" / OK...

Click on... Beginning... in the toolbar...

    That should do it...

    Good luck

  • Operating system changed from Windows 7 to Windows XP Home Edition. You will need to download Audio Driver & video Controller.

I changed the OS on my laptop Toshiba from Windows 7 to Windows XP Home Edition. Everything seems to work fine, except that there is no sound. Checked PC Device Manager and noticed that I need to download & install a high definition Buss Audio Audio driver and a video controller (VGA Compatible).

You need visit Toshiba support and download the drivers that you need for Windows XP for your laptop model specific. It is the responsibility of the manufacturer of the system (or manufacturer) to write drivers for their products for different operating systems - not Microsoft.

    Toshiba technical support
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/support/JSP/home.jsp?NAV=product%20Support

In addition, if your PC Toshiba laptop comes with Windows 7 so it's a fairly new machine, if this model was never sold with Windows XP may not be drivers for Windows XP.

    I hope this helps.

  • Windows 7 - audio system sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. Soundcard Question. Issue of the audio recording. Poor sound quality from the speakers.

I connect on - the work of sound system very well.  Media player works fine.  The next time I log on - no sound system.  Everything is plugged, convenience store finds no problems, Media player goes through all the steps and looks that don't worry, still no sound.  I have download a fix for the VIA recommended by Dell Driver.  I did, and it still has the same problem.  I can close, reconnect, and then the sound will work.  Sometimes I have to close and log on twice in a row so he can launch.

Can someone point me in the right direction to solve this problem?  I am working on a Dell Inspiron 546 AMD Athlon II x 2 215 2.70 GHz and 64-bit with 400 GB of RAM.  I installed Windows 7 but when I dug deeper into the service code for this machine which found at some point in time he had installed Vista.  This could be the same Vista to Windows 7 problem audio, everyone seems to have?  I bought this Staples announced new with Windows 7 as operating system.

I did research on all forums and responses and am unable to check if I have a "sound card".  I'm not used with the terminology so even if I follow the Microsoft instructions to find the right place to check and see, I do not understand what I see when I'm there.  It is said: ATI high definition Audio Device and VIA High Definition Audio.  Is this to say that I have a sound card or I should get it a?  If I buy a sound card will it fix my audio problem?

Even though I had my audio problem fixed, I was disappointed by the sound quality of the speakers on this new system up to date.  My speakers on my old computer (which lasted from Windows 98) were by far superior in sound quality.  I don't understand why they sound so crappy and barely louder, and when you show the to they have a rattle for them.  I tried plugging my old speakers on my new computer, but nothing happens.  My new speakers have a Plug and a USB port.  I don't know what is... why goal can not use my 'old'?

Finally, I want to record my vinyl on discs and need a great sound system.  Any advice?

I removed all the ATI Audio as suggested.  The result in the short term is that the audio quality is improved.  I no longer hear the "crackling" when the sound is turned on.  I'll answer more if the issue of audio (works) continues to be a problem because the fix.  If you don't hear from me, then please consider the problem solved and my thanks to you.
