SLES 11 sp3 /init.d/oracle with tags lsb
Hi all
I'm installing Oracle 11.2.0.4 on Sles 11 sp3.
Now my linux administrator complains that there is no startup scripts etc/init.d/oracle.
I found an old package with tags lsb orarun.rpm, but it is an old script.
New script starting with lsb tags or some of you have made them?
Kind regards
Dave Strijbos
Thanks, I found the tags LSB, that was the problem

Any bugs in the CEP Oracle 11.1.1.3.0
Hello
It seems that there are a few bugs in the CEP Oracle 11.1.1.3.0.
1. the documentation says that customized osgi bundles must be placed in the %DOMAIN_HOME%/serverName/modules/ext or in the % DOMAIN_HOME%/serverName/modules. As far as I understand that oracle CEP provides its own OSGI environment, which is based on the implementation of eclipse equinox. The problem is that the beams in the %DOMAIN_HOME%/serverName/modules or the %DOMAIN_HOME%/serverName/modules does not support OSGI pieces. The environment CEP tries to start some fragments of OSGI, which is false. Example: Try to slf4j api and implementation, which is the fragment to the slf4j api bundle.
2 is it fair that when deploying an application with JMS/output adapters CEP Oracle does not bundle classloader to load configuration jms, for example instantiate the implementation of the InitialContextFactory, specified using the jndi factory tag. If an implementation expected resource, specified using the jndi-provider-url tag, in the classpath, this resource is not found because of the class loader, which is not a class loader of the boot where jms adapter is configured.
Best regards
SergeyHello
You're right - the library bundles do not currently support the fragment OSGi bundle function.
You use a third party JMS provider? Oracle CEP supports the implementation of JMS provider classes in the bundle of the application itself, or as a set of package library. Packaging classes as a library package is usually preferable because it avoids the need to redeploy the classes whenever the application changes. This blog describes the steps for packaging open MQ (the same basic steps are followed to any third-party provider).
http://blogs.Oracle.com/CEP/2010/05/using_open_mq_as_an_oracle_cep.html
Kind regards

Cannot change the/etc/oratab file or a problem of Autostart on linux!
Hi friends,
I installed Oracle 11.2.0.1 on server Linux Oracle 5.11 (Virtualbox). I have the grid users and oracle11g. Add groups and install the first grid infrastructure as a network user and install the database as a user oracle as documentation successfully.
I have following users and groups
[grid@orcl11g ~] grid id $
UID = 501 (Grid) gid = 502 (oinstall) groups = 502 (oinstall), 492 (vboxsf), 501 (grid), 503 (dba), 505 (asmdba), 506 (asmadmin), 507 (asmoper)

When I login as a user of the grid. I have check the following points:
[grid@orcl11g ~] $ crsctl check

When I edit the file oratab/etc/oratab . change of N to Y for + ASM and restart the system, then it seems the value N is not changed to Y. But changed to the database, as shown below.
+ ASM:/u01/app/grid/product/11.2.0/grid:N # line added by Agent
ora11g:/U01/app/Oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1:Y
QUESTIONS!
1. when I edit oratab/etc/oratab file manually why second saved row (N changed to Y manually) but the first line, become not registered (although changed N to Y) again after restarting the system?
2. after the restart of the database system and ASM starts automatically even if the line is not changed in there above (in oratab file) for ASM. Why and how can I change to Y? Or if I should change the N to o or not?
3 - is sufficient to edit N to o in the oratab file ASM and database start ASM and automatically data base? I think that there will be a few other scripts must be created in the directory /etc/init.d/ for an automatic start.
PLEASE, HELP ME UNDERSTAND THIS PROBLEM!
Thank you!!!
Post edited by: DBA_84
Since it is 11g, please check config crsctl as owner of the ASM House and if it is enabled then process Oracle has begin fearful, ocssd etc and then start ASM ASM being a part of the GI houses databases. You should not change in oratab since it is automatically supported by the AP in 11g.

Dear all,
We can share with the Community (related to oracle) document which can be useful for someone... ? Is there a specific place, so that it... where, once that we download... our document is checked and published if it is deemed sufficiently credible... ?
Thank you and best regards,
Séverine Suresh
Question has now moved to the space of the feedback from the community.
The community provides for the possibility for members to upload documents to the content-> spaces of Documents in the workspace of each product (if available). However, the feature is currently disabled for most members due to problems with spam, so only a few members (most of Oracle employees) have the necessary permissions to do this.
The admin studying how they can implement something that would allow members to upload documents, etc., which also has some mechanism to prevent spam.
There is an idea already created for this: allow users to create community Documents
for the Admin provided details on their current attitude

Bug in the SQL Developer report where?
Where can I report a bug in the SQL Developer? It is possible at all?
I use Ubuntu 14.04 (32 or 64 bit) with Oracle VM 1.7.55 and get a SIGSEGV vm.
Thank you
Diogo Sant
If you have database support through MyOracleSupport, you can report a bug there.
If this isn't the case, then this is the place, although nothing is guaranteed.

The names of parameters Oracle RAC &; description...
Hi all
I need to list all the important parameters of oracle, which can play a vital role in Oracle RAC put up.
Also the parameters associated with the level of the BONE. Just need to name and function of these parameters.
I Googled it a lot and also tried to find in OTN, could not . Ask for help here...
Redirect kindly me some good links would be appreciated.
Thank you very much
All the parameters are listed in Oracle® database reference 11g Release 2.
Who is important to the CAR? This depends on a host of factors - unique to the type of h/w installed, used interconnection, layer of fabric of I/O, etc.

What is the reason for creating the directory database in oracle instead of oracle could use;
Hi all
I want to know why oracle gave the concept of directory as a database object while a file on the operating system can be accessed directly by this last full qualified name. as we use the directory object in outer table and expdp etc.

In addition to the above-mentioned security issues, there is the question of the independence of the OS. By having the ability to refer to an alias that is not specific to the operating system, the application code doesn't have to worry about the physical (and so, os-dependent) mapping of a file. Makes the code portable, which is one of the great features of Oracle vs everybody.

What prevents the implementation of these customers in pure PL/SQL?
Hello
Probably nothing. In my view, the package author has used Java as it is easier to implement and provide loan APIs.
I suppose that pure PL/SQL do not solve problem which packages you can use in apex.oracle.com.
I'm sure that you for example utl_http is in a similar packaging that you cannot use in apex.oracle.com

Select to_timestamp ('2012-01-31', 'yyyy-mm-dd') + '1' months apart
Double;
In fact, I couldn't find a topic in this forum about this error. My question is: is that someone is aware of a workaround for this (add_months throw timestamp to date, so this isn't an option)? And: Does anyone know if Oracle plans to fix this bug in the Release 12?
Thanks in advance,
JürgenNot a bug. Adding interval '1' month for a stamp is SAME day next month. "So if the stamp is the 31st of a month it will cause an error unless it's July 31). Same error happen if we add an interval of 12 months to 29 Feb.

as oper, asmdba, asmoper, asmadminAs you mention oracle suggests using different user for grid, asm, etc. Thatsgood path if you have only 1 db. But for me its coz not usable, I have to manage more than 300 db if it is difficult to give the user DIF. for each facility, it makes my job more complex. I hope I can show you my index
