  I have 2 Macs, both execution of the updated OS X with Safari 9.1 (11601.5.17.1).  On the same machine, the first option in preferences > general is "Safari opens with:" but this line does not appear in the General preferences on the other machine.  Why the difference?  I can add this option to the version where it is absent?

  This has to with the option "close windows when you exit an application" enabled in system preferences > general

• Problems when opening a photo directly with lightroom (excluding a file with the "Open with" option)

  Hi, when I installed everything first to lightroom, I open images directly into a folder with a right click on the image and choose 'Open with' option. Lightroom is a program offered in the list. After update of lightroom, the program is no longer in the list. I could manually choose the path and the exe file, but it still doesn't work.

  I found somewhere on the internet a solution where we had to change some paths in the registry for lightroom and delete the other values. He worked thereafter (apparently, the values in the registry is not updated during the update of the programme). When I switched to lightroom 6 is the same thing (can't directly open images more). Unfortunately, I didn't copy the page with the solution and I can't find any more. Anyone know how to fix this?

  I posted this question on January 21, but did not so far no answer/solution to my problem.  So, I try again, maybe is someone who could help me or tell me where I could get help.

  Recently my 'open with the option' disappeared. That means, the only option I have is to open or save an attachment. I've stuck here.  Any help would be much appreciated.

  Back up the registry

  Follow these steps and check if it helps to fix the problem:
   
  a. open the Registry Editor (start > run > regedit) and navigate to:
  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Explorer
  (b) in the right side of the screen double click on "NoFileAssociate".
  c. change the value of "NoFileAssociate" from 1 to 0.
  d. now go to:
  HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Explorer
  e. Repeat steps 2 and 3.
  f. close "regedit" and restart your machine.
   
  If the procedure above does not work for you (or if you already have "NoFileAssociate" of values such as 0), restart in safe mode and change a file type to open it with a program by default (or right-click and select 'Open with' for this type of file and check whether or not the box is still greyed out) and click OK. The next reboot to fix the problem.

• .xls files will open with IE. Need to change file association, but excel does not appear as an option.

  Excel files are currently set to open with internet explore as default. I went to change the file association, and although my copy of excel is fully licensed and operational, excel does not appear as an available program. Has anyone experience this problem? Thank you.

  Right click on a .xls file and choose open with > choose default program. Then click Browse.

  Navigate to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office or C:\Program Files (x 86) \Microsoft Office for 64-bit Windows versions.

  Here is an office folder. Office12 for Office 2007 and Office14 for Office 2010. Go in the right folder and thin Excel.exe.

  Does anyone know why a user would have the Page Options icon (where they can export, print, save customization, etc.) missing from a dashboard?

  It certainly has nothing to do with the browser - behaves the same on different browsers. Here are some details:

  1. the 11.1.1.7.140527 OBIEE

  2. use IE9, Chrome, FireFox, nothing works

  3. This is why I know that's not browser related. I logged in OBIEE on their computer, and the icon is not absent, when they connect, it is absent. On my computer, I don't have the issue of a missing icon, but when they were connecting through my computer, the icon was missing.

  4. This leads me to believe that this has to do with safety, however...

  To mimic the safety of the user, I have myself removed from all security roles had I and replace them with the same PRECISE roles as long as the user has the question (cloned the user roles) and did not have a problem with the missing icon. In addition, there are about 100 users with the same security as the user experiencing the problem, no one else has this problem.

  Any ideas?

  It was from that user could, under my accounts tab preference, the Mode of accessibility in position 'On '. In 'Off' position, he solved the problem.   If the problem persists, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling adobe.

  You can try to uninstall all older versions, Adobe Acrobat , and see if the problem is resolved. Uninstall earlier versions of the application and then install the version you want. If multiple versions of Adobe Reader are installed on the system, remove all versions and install only one version.
  To do this, follow these steps:
  1. click on Start, type Appwiz.cpl in the Start Search box, and then click Appwiz.cpl in the list of found files.
  2. double-click on the version of Acrobat or reader you want to uninstall.

  Is from CS4 master collection to CS6 - now I can't open the image in a folder full of images in adobe Bridge.

  It does not show in the default program options-, or other options. I walked to the bridge to add it, but it does not appear after you click Ok
