• Build specification does include all of the files for my VI.

  Hello!

  As part of a semester project, I have to build a VI to control a filtration unit. The VI works fine on my computer, but I control the next month and I need to send files to a person on the University. The problem is that even if I use the function 'Build Specification' (I use the 2011 LabView professional development system), the files are still missing when the program is started on the new computer. A warning in the project file indicates that the files are missing or removed to another location. A file named pid.lib is not found, and it seems that the path of each file is the same on my computer, but does not change the specification of build that adjust the new computer.

  I am a newbe LabView and I have searced this forum and help files to try to solve this problem by myself, but now my time is more limited. Can someone help me with this?

  Hi Henrik

  You can see what versions of LabVIEW and toolboxes installed in measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX). If you MAX Open and select 'my system'--> 'software in the menu of left, then you can see all installed software.

  

  If you click on the installation of LabVIEW. In this case, LabVIEW 2011, you can see all the installed tool boxes.

  

  When you run a LabVIEW project / application on another PC, LabVIEW will use a priority defined in the place where to load the files to. This is specified in Tools--> Options-->--> VI search path Path.

  For LabVIEW will be frist was trying to find the VI/VI library in your project folder and if the VI is not located there it will look like for her as a function of generation in vilib, userlib or LabVIEW instrlib files. These files contains VI and VI installed with LabVIEW libraries.

  In this case, as mentioned above you correctly do not have the same toolboxes installed on both machines. This is why the PID.lib is not found in the vilib folder as it should be, and so you get the error. You can check by looking at the installed modules, as mentioned above.

• build specification missing properties

  I created a build specification for my project, but the tabs for the information in the dialog box, shortcuts and additional installers are missing.  See attached screenshot. How can I make it appear?

  You will create two specifications: (1) build the exe. (2) create an installer for the exe. One you have both in your project, you can do a "build together" when right-clicking on the header section of specifications of generation.

• Weird error for a build specification

  I deleted some files in my project, and all of a sudden my generation specifications no longer work:

  Choose "build together" ' Building specifications ' apparently still works. I tried to delete all the project files and make a new project, but something is always wrong. Clues?

  OK, I threw all the files, make a new directory, rebuilt, and now it works. Don't know what was wrong.

• problems with labview 2013 build specification

  I have a few screws of LV2010 I want to use to create an application to run with RTE2013. I have LV2013 on my computer.

  Without a massive compilation of the LV2010 screws, the element of selection of source files in the build specification has no project file to choose and it won't allow me to go looking for.

  Any ideas why this happens?

  Right, you must create a project and put in all of the screws to be included in the compilation - including one that is the top-level VI. Once this is done, you can save the project, just not to re-record the EIS.

  Now you should be able to define your spec to build according to normal.

• 'Get VI build specification' works if I run in a VI. However, if I build this VI in an executable it no longer works.

  When I use the minor correction, 'get build specification VI' in a VI it works as expected to provide the main, and what ever the project version number it is pointing to, however, when I buuild as VI in an exicutible and run this exicutable it always returns 0 for all fields.

  Does anyone know why he would do this?

  I think that it does not work in an executable file is because it's not supposed to run in an executable file.  It is designed to extract the specification of the Build of the project (.lvproj) file, which is generally not available at run time.

  However, there is another function, FileVersionInfo (found in the hidden gems that you can find in the LabVIEW tools network using VIPM).  When you generate an executable file, the Version information is placed here where Microsoft wants it to be saved, and the LabVIEW function will retrieve it for you, as well as the name of the program executable.  Here is an excerpt from my program and the utility Version:

• Modify a build specification

  I just made the leap of Labview 7 to Labview 2011.  The thing about the whole project is new to me.

  How to modify a build specification.  I want to add dynamic vi to the specification to build, but I don't see a way to edit an existing build specification.  I'm sure it's a simple thing to do, but I can't.  Any help appreciated.

  It is not a strange behavior. You're not doing things. You do not add the files in the specification of generation - add you them to the project. Once they are in the project, they will be available in the files of the Source tab.

  I have problems with my Draw.When live and Direct 3D acceleration I open DXDIAG it shows that these two don't are not available.i has recently installed a new Windows XP after installing windows, I have not installed all the drivers except the one that allows me to connect to the internet. Please tell me where to find suitable driver to enable Direct 3D acceleration.

• Lack of specific options on the menu bar to the rectangle shape

  Hi, I am using the rectangle shape. I use this tool the first time, following some tutorials. I realized that specific menu bar options are missing IE create new layer of work, new way to work, to create the filled area. I tried to check and the specific options of the uptick under the window menu, I can't always get it. I also reset my tools, which it did not help.

  Someone has experienced a problem like this before? Thank you

  Ry reset your preferences file.

  cmd-opt-shift on Mac

  Press the keys as you launch Photoshop. A pop-up window should appear and allow you to delete the file.

  Also make sure that in your Windows as part of the Photoshop Application menu option is always enabled.

  Hello

  My problem is that I can't change socks5 to automatic detection of proxy in Skype. I will properly press on save, and restart Skype but my connection even options stays even if I changed automatic proxy and it's the reason why I can't connect to Skype.

  I tried to reinstall completely with revouninstaller, cleaning the appdata, register, but after the installation of the new my socks5 remains in Skype and I can not just simply remove it. Any ideas?

• build specifications have disappeared in the 2012 LabVIEW Project Explorer

  I have LabVIEW 2012 Professional Edition and I checked in to National Instruments License Manager that the professional development system, and the Application Builder are both "green".

  I noticed that when I open an existing project or create a new project, the construction specifications section disappeared!

  No idea what would cause this to disappear?

  In the Project Explorer, try looking in the framework project--> filters see and make sure that the construction specifications is checked. Here is a link to a knowledge base article OR that might be useful:

  They allow you to quickly enable and disable sets of projects.  For example, you can have a workspace with 4 projects, where some are dependent on each other, or you want to build different sets for different projects.  You can set up something like:

  Private = all active projects

  Debug = 1 and 4 are active

  Output = project 1, 2 and 3 are active.

  You can then proceed to change the set of projects that are active.

  1. check that duplex printing accessory has been installed correctly. To check this open system preferences and go to Print & Fax. Open the print to your printer queue. Click Printer Setup and in the tab menu choose driver. Make sure that the box next to HP printing accessory (duplexer) sides.

  2. on the file menu, select print. The print window is displayed.
  NOTE: The print window might be minimized. Click on the blue triabgle next to the product model to see all available parameters.

  3. in the print window expanded you will find next to Copies the checkbox for duplex. Select the check box.
  NOTE: If the check box does not appear in the specific application print dialog box, skip this step.

  4. to select the connection type click the selection box below, listed as the name of the program (e.g. TextEdit)
  Will appear as Copies & Pages within Microsoft Office applications.

  5. Select the menu drop down.

  6. set the duplex option as binding edge Long (Portrait) or binding Long Edge (landscape).

  You can save the settings for later use by clicking preset > save current settings as preset.

• Excel OPM project not to build specific WSDL

  I create a new project in OPM 10.4.5 using an Excel spreadsheet to define all attributes and the conclusions.

  I just noticed after the creation and deployment of Tomcat or Weblogic Server determinations tilt the spacific WSDL for my project, only the generic WSDL is available.

  I read another post archived (error during generation specific wsdl) that "all level attribute and the basic objective and must have a public name", would y project compatible with the server of determinations, the next thing I did was turn on 'Check compatibility determinations Server' in the OPM Options window and my project is NOT compatible with the server of determinations.

  I guess my question is, how can I make my project compatible with DS given that all my rules, attributes, conditions and conclusions are contained in an Excel worksheet.

  Should be fine to just go ahead and declare each of the attributes in the properties file, I think.

  Adding them in the properties file - you can give each his public name.

  If you have many attributes, it'll be a little pain - but at least you'll be able to get the specific wsdl.

  If you don't want to bother creating each attribute one by one, then I wonder if it would be possible to simply create the properties file, then right-click inside and click on "generate public names.  I have not tested which, but it might help a go.

• iPad does not present as in Folio Builder Preview Option

  I am currently using Adobe DPS (Windows) and trying to get a glimpse of my folio in an iPad. I have the app open on the iPad, signed am content viewer in and I'm also signed to in Folio Builder. And of course, I have the iPad plugged into the computer. After plugging in the iPad, an arrow appears next to the preview, which I guess would have been the iPad appearing as an option. But by clicking on the arrow, I only get the option to open the viewer of content on my desktop. Everyone knows about this problem?

  Unfortunately, this is one feature of Mac.
