When I moved HP Business Inkjet 1200 D of Windows VISTA 64-bit for new Windows 10 64-bit, the printer works fine, but the AUTOMATIC duplex option disappeared.

I looked under PROPERTIES, SETTINGS, ADVANCED, etc..,.

Windows search gave "DRIVERS ARE up-to-date"

    I'm puzzled.

The default value for HP Business Inkjet 1200 seems to be the duplexer is 'not installed '.  You perform the following operations (only once) to enable:

    • Go to the folder devices and printers, right click on the Business Inkjet 1200.
    • Select the printer properties
    • Select the device settings tab.   On the "Installation Options" tab select "Unit duplex (for double-sided printing)", then installed, apply, OK.
    • Close all printer dialog boxes.  When you reopen the duplex printing option will now be available.

  • HP Laserjet P2055dn on MacOS 10.6 the duplex option is missing

The loss of appletalk on MacOS 10.6 forced me to get rid of my loyal and very old LaserJet and replace it with a p2055dn. The most attractive feature is a duplex. I installed, updated the drivers and print very well. The problem is that the duplex option is nowhere to be seen in the dialogues of printing for Word2008 or Acrobat, if it's for Safari. How to activate this option appears for all applications. MS Word and Acrobat are the most important applications to have access to duplex printing.

OK duplex options now appear in the print dialog for Word and Acrobat

I think the key is after installing the updated driver, restart.

Then, the option will appear in the layout page of the print dialog box option (make sure that you have fully deployed options)

  • Duplex option is no longer available after the Mac 10.8.3 driver update

After an automatic update of the software which included an update of the HP printer driver, the print duplex option is no longer available (i.e. it is grayed) when you print my Officejet Pro K550.  This has happened on a BONE earlier too, wher ethe duplex option disappeared after an update of the driver.  The option was agin available when I went up to 10.8 but the new update he removed again.  Any advice would be appreciated.

    Hello

Let us ensure that the duplexer is always enabled in the driver.  If you can open Sys Prefs, go to print, Scan, double-click the printer in the left window, click Ontario right driver tab and make sure that the check mark is in the option HP two-sided printing Acessory.

  • I lost my HP 2200 d with MacBook OS x 10.6.8 the duplex option.

I printed out for months with a duplex and a standard option, but for some reason, my duplex option has now disappeared.  Any ideas?

    Thank you.

To print duplex for MS-Word, open the print dialog box.

Click the 3rd list drop-down (Copies & Pages), and then select page layout

Under double defined edge binding Long copy double-sided print portrait.

You can now save the preset for future use.

The change was made due to the change in MS-Office available within the last Office Update.

In my view, it will be the same for both mail. If you can't find it, please let me know what email client you use.

  • Why duplex option isn't greyed out on my Mac, but not my PC?

I can't for the life of figure me out how to turn on duplex printing of the print booklet on my Mac command. If I move the files a PC, I can make it work.

From the PC, I'll print booklet-> Configuration printer-> Configuration-> click on the Preferences button and finally I am in the printing tab shortcuts to turn on both sides (duplex) printing. This works.

But on a Mac I'm going to print booklet-> Print Settings-> Configuration-> printer choose layout, then the duplex option is grayed out.

As I build the product book on my Mac, I have to be able to do the entire workflow of Mac.

I'm in InDesign CC on machines and printing on a HP Color Laserjet 5550 PCL 5.

It may seem a problem of driver on the Mac, but I don't know what else to try.

The answer to my original question was this:

Print settings on the Mac, I had not checked on the duplex unit, printing, from the hand. It was not accessible form print menus, I had to go to the mac system preferences.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8500 A910: printer duplex option forget

I have the duplex unit installed and that you have used successfully for some time.   Are some time I tried to print double-sided, but the option was not in the print window.  I went into the options of the printer and found that the duplex was not checked.  I checked and was able to print two-sided without problem.

Some time later I tried again to duplex, and again once the option wasn't there.  I can reset the option, but very shortly after the OS 'forgets' setting.  Basically, I have to do every time I want to duplex.

This was not always a problem.  It worked fine until a couple of months ago (and Mac OS updates several there).  I have two Macs connected over wi - fi for this printer and Mac have the problem.

    Hey @alhurley,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I hope you enjoy your stay here.

I understand that you have a few options with the option of double-sided printing associated to your Officejet Pro 8500 all-in-One printer on your computer Mac OSX 10.11. I can help you with that.

Here's how we should be able to fix this:

    1. Disconnect the USB cable if it is connected.
    2. Click your Apple system and print and Scan preferences icon.
    3. Hold down the command key and click the icon of your printer on the left.
    4. Click on reset printing system.
    5. Restart your Mac.

Now connect the USB cable again if you removed previously. Otherwise:

    1. Go to the Apple preferences system, print, and Scan.
    2. Press the button "+" in the lower left corner.
    3. Select your printer from the list.
    4. In the box next to click on Airprint and select your printer from the list.
    5. Click on Add.

One last thing to do now is click on Apple, updates of the system and all the necessary updates.

This should fix the duplex printing option. If not then the next step would be to contact Apple as there is something weird is happening with your operating system.

Please let me know if this solves your problem or if you have any other questions. If not, have a great week!

  • No duplex option AUTOMATIC in Windows 7 for Photosmart C7280 software

I have the drivers & software installed on Windows 7 64 bit and I cannot set automatic duplex printing as I have in Win XP.

He appears briefly (for 1-2 seconds) in the print properties dialog box, and then disappears into the menu drop down.

    Someone at - it ideas?

The photosmart C7280 is not a switch to automatically detect the duplexor.  It appears the pilot 13 version is set by default to "not installed".

Try to go to the printer properties-> device settings tab.  The "Installation Options" value-> unit duplex (for printing on 2 sides): "installed".

Now you should find automatic 2 sided option in the shortcuts printing, the characteristics and the printing preferences tabs.

  • HP 8600: No option to duplex printing

Yesterday or the day before, I installed the latest driver from HP printer on my Mac. Today, when I tried to print double-sided with the double-sided accessory, I couldn't find the option in the print window. Before the update of two-sided printing was an easily selectable option. But now, how to print double-sided copies?

    Thank you very much

    Christopher B

    Hello
Please follow the steps below to automatically print double-sided print jobs:

    1. check that duplex printing accessory has been installed correctly. To check this open system preferences and go to the Printers & Scanners. Open the print to your printer queue. Click Printer Setup and in the tab menu choose driver. Make sure that the box next to HP printing accessory (duplexer) sides.

    2. in the file being used to print click the file menu and select print.
NOTE: The print window might be minimized. Press show details to show all available print option.

    3. in the print window expanded you will find next to Copies the checkbox for duplex. Select the check box.
NOTE: If the check box does not appear in the specific application print dialog box, skip this step.

    4. to select the connection type click the selection box below, listed as the name of the program (e.g. TextEdit)
Will appear as Copies & Pages within Microsoft Office applications.

    5. Select the menu drop down.

    6. set the duplex option as the binding edge (Portrait) Long or short edge (landscape) bond.

You can save the settings for later use by clicking preset > save current settings as preset. A used preset will remain the default until another preset is used and can be easily selected in the presets menu in the future.

    Kind regards
