Any help for this old ghostiano welcome

    Hello

I had a similar problem and I could solve it.
I tried to watch a DVD on the TV by using software WinDVD one always got a black screen on TV.

You must appear FIRST on television; Don t start the applications DVD before you didn't switch to the TV. After the display has been set at the TV, you can start the DVD or movie from the HARD drive.

  • Installation of Windows 7 since the DVD on the new hard drive

My hard drive failed last week (short DST failure), I went and bought a new hard drive and was able to install it in my laptop with no problems. However, now I can't have to install Windows 7 on my computer since the disks provided with my computer when I bought it. When I insert the disc to start (after going through the BIOS options to make my start of the computer of the optical drive), it gives me the message "non system disk or disk error."

    Three drives I have are:
'DVD Windows 7 Professional operating system'
"Application and Driver Recovery DVD" and
"Operating system Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP3 CD."

My computer is the HP Probook s 4320.

    Ok.

Using the F9 option you select the optical disk drive.

This is the technical term for the DVD player.

  • transfer of the media since the dvd on my external hard drive

I tried to transfer dvd movies from my laptop on my external hard drive without success.

My goal is to eliminate the need to carry several dvd disc while having my movies dvd on a single device

my external hard drive.  I put the dvd into the dvd drive, and I have not found a way to transfer the data on

my external hard drive.  If you can help understand me this problem, I would appreciate it.

    Hi anchorman48,

If the drive is accessible then you just copy the movies on the disc using Windows Explorer and then paste it into the external hard drive.

    1. Once you insert the disc into the movie player go to the Windows Explorer find the DVD drive, and then copy the movie contains.
    2. now go to the external drive using Windows explore, right click on any empty space and click on paste must copy the contents of the film on the external drive.

Note: some DVDs allows you to copy its content.

    I hope this helps!

My laptops hard drive failed last year and had to be replaced. Vista was installed by the repairman.
However, now I want to restore the system failing.

Will be my Toshiba Recovery Disc I received with my Word still PC although the hard drive is different? How will I know?

    Hello

You can use the Toshiba Recovery disk, even if the HARD drive has been replaced.
Usually it s no matter you use a new HARD drive...
The recovery disk would be to format the drive HARD integer and must install the Toshiba image correctly.

One of the recurring errors in Event Viewer was the 'Source' following 'KScsiPrt ':

The description for event ID 9 source KScsiPrt is not found. Either the component that triggers this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event is on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information has been included in the event:

    \Device\Scsi\KScsiPrt1

Which may indicate a problem with the SCSI KernSafe controller.

Can you try disabling the controller SCSI KernSafe in Manager devices as suggested hereand see if that makes a difference.

You may need to restart the computer after you disable the driver.

    Help, please...

    Hi dynamitenews

    1. are you able to boot to the desktop?
    2. what happens when you try to start the computer?

You must have the DVD drive to start the computer using the disk, you cannot use the external hard drive to do the same thing.

Also I suggest you to make sure you have defined the start as CD/DVD-Rom as the first choice option in the BIOS. See below the help link-
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/BIOS-frequently-asked-questions

If nothing is done, then you can contact the manufacturer support for assistance on setting up the correct boot sequence and check.

    BIOS WARNING-
Change (CMOS) BIOS/complementary metal oxide semiconductor settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

I need help wiping my hard drive, so I can sell my computer

    Hello

You can use the process below to completely erase your hard drive, but you must have your game that recovery disks to reinstall the operating system if you want to sell it with XP installed.

Download and install Killdisk on the link below - (this application will write zeros to the entire disk).

    http://software.lsoft.net/KillDiskSuiteFree-Setup.exe of

Download and install ImgBurn on the link below.

    http://download.CNET.com/ImgBurn/3000-2646_4-10847481.html

Access the application of disc kill you have installed in all programs, open the main folder, then select Bootable Disk creators, then the BACK Bootable CD Creator that will burn the ISO on a blank CD bootable.

During the following process do not worry about all warnings as your recovery DVDs will reformat the HARD drive.

Insert this CD into yout laptop. Close Notepad, and then start again to boot from the CD of Killdisk and follow the instructions on the screen to kill disk.

A brief description of the process here is Killdisk.

Use it to wipe the entire hard drive, Select (80 h) and press f10 (you will also need to type a confirmation and press enter) - ( This will make sure to include all of the partitions , and then start the process - this may take a few hours!).

When the process is complete, remove the CD of Killdisk, insert your first HP recovery disc and restart the computer to start the installation.

  • HP Probook 4520 s installed new hard drive with Windows 7 pro x 64 and drivers - very lag

    Hello

I had my HP Probook 4520 s for 5 years and a few months ago, he started to become very lag, especially when you use the internet, streaming video and games.

I thought I had identified the problem as a bad sector on the hard drive and so I bought a new hard drive and upgraded the RAM from 4 GB to 8 GB at the same time.

When I installed the new hard drive, I couldn't burn an image of my old hard drive (it would stop during the process and was unable to do so because of an error). I used my little HP Windows 7 Pro x 64 operating system DVD and your HP Application and Driver Recovery DVD to install the necessary drivers on my replacement new drive.

The RAM and the new hard drive seem to be good, however, it's more lag. I tried to use latancy monitors to see if the drivers are the issue. It seems that there is a huge amount of latancy and my CPU is at an almost constant usuage of 100%.

LatancyMon points in the following drivers: usbport.sys, tcip.sys, acpi.sys, iastor.sys, ndis.sys, dxgkrnl.sys and so on.

I've seen forums where they will guide you step by step how to determine what drivers are causing latancy. This I could do although he always seems to change drivers who are the cause of the problem and there seems to be a lot of pilots of causing this problem it is so difficult to bring out here that one. In addition, there seems to be no solution to these problems. The only one offered is to update the offending drivers. This does not solve the problem with lag and the latancy yet.

    Any ideas?

P.s. I really don't know not what is the underlying issue is here so I don't know if this is the right forum to post in. Drivers may not at all be the issue, I spent the last four weeks trying to solve this problem.

    Hello skinandbones13

Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

I understand that you have a problem with your laptop. However, since it is a commercial laptop, you should post your question on the map cell of the HP Enterprise Forums for a better answer.

    Have a wonderful day!

  • What are the requirements with respect to a processor and hard drive and memory is required to run windows seven effectively?

Can I just move from XP to windows 7 without loosung files already under Xp.

While XP is allowed as a way to upgrade to Windows 7, you must perform a new installation ("custom"). It is always wise to backup your data on external media (burn DVD, copy to external hard drive, etc.) before you do anything too drastic to install a new operating system.

Make sure that your hardware is supported in Windows 7. You will need drivers. You can find them in either the OEM (HP, Dell, etc.) If you have this kind of machine or mftrs of individual hardware components. (motherboard, video card, etc.).
