Satellite Pro A120SE and Dynadock (PA3541E)

I'm after some tips with the help of a dynadock and satellite pro A120 - after installing the drivers and utility dynadock and connected everything up to the dock I am unable to get the screen plugged into the docking station to display.

The laptop is running an Enterprise edition of XP fully packaged service and I also uninstalled and then installed the latest graphics drivers found on the toshiba web site. (I double also checked the dynadock utility version and it is according to the toshiba site, so I am asuming drivers installed according to the installation of the utility are the latest).

The monitor that I use is a Philips model number: 170s5FG/05.

When you press Fn + F5 the laptop allows you to scroll the notebook computer normal / monitor display outputs but does not appear in the dock.

I solved this issue - after having reinstalled the drivers and utility signed as local administrator, rather than a network with admin rights account - now poster dock with monitor

    What might have happened, is that the operating system and a hard drive can have erased himself when the RAM and battery have been removed at the same time!

    The only way to fix and doing things is again to send it to a Toshiba service center and get them to look! Also, do not upgrade to Vista - I'm using XP and it seems to do the job the way it was supposed to! I intend to switch to another Satellite Pro, an A300 running Vista, but I will look for someone who can replace XP on it!

    You have connected the printer via Port Replicator ports for the A60 SatPro.

  • Satellite Pro L40 and it crashes and freezes

    Hi guys

    I have a Satellite Pro L40 and it crashed on me a few weeks ago.
    It will turn upward, but everything freezes.

    They gave me a copy of Vista to friend, but this only loads until it said 74.5 MB necessary and only 74.4 on the partition so I guess it does not load the full program of vista.

    I don't have the original backup drive so cannot use it.
    Is my only need to get a new hard drive and if what kind do you recommend.

    As Akuma wrote before starting installation Vista delete existing partitions, create new and install Vista on it. I don't think that you need a new HARD drive.

    I'm afraid that's true. Satellite Pro 6000 is old enough for laptop and it will not supported in Vista. Install Windows XP Home edition and enjoy your life.

    I want to switch the HARD disk in my Satellite Pro 4340. I know the 4200 and 4300 SP series can take at least a 20 GB HARD drive that I've already updated a SP4270 and SP4280 drives from 20GB already.

    I did a search on assignments earlier re. Satellite Pro 4200 and computers portable 4300 series as various other contributors of this forum had already asked this question. A respondent suggested that they had installed a 60 GB HARD disk without problem.

    Someone at - it else mounted a big HARD drive (or more even) in these notebooks series 4200 and 4300 and managed to do work OK and had the BIOS to recognize the total size of the HARD drive?

    What is the largest swap HDD that someone did with success on these machines of 4200/4300?

    OK, so I have an old Toshiba Satellite Pro 4200 and I m running windows xp professional on it and I ve been wondering because many programs do not work on it because of the resolution of the screen I want to know if there is a way to change.

    As mentioned in another thread, I have a SP4220XCDT that died on me.

    I bought a mobo on ebay which was a 4290 and today it happened, but the problem was that there was an apparently fixed CPU, which stands out much less of the Council than that of the Board of Directors 4220 and therefore does not connect with my 4220 cooling mechanism.

    At least something comes on when I start now, but unfortunately he has passed the Toshiba screen that tells you to press F2 for boot sequence.

    Having also spent money on a new CPU and memory, I don't want it let go and I've seen a motherboard available suitable for a 4320/40/60 - does anyone know if it will agree with the rest of my 4220? It doesn't have a cpu so presumably will have the same mechanism as the motherboard 4220.

    I'm assuming that these may be compatible since I managed to find a pdf of a service manual that covers both the 4200 and 4300, although unfortunately the first page is missing, so I don't ' know if that highlights any differences.

    It's frustrating that there's no PDF for these older models, at least with the plug on them, and it is very difficult to find info.

    Satellite Pro L10 is old enough for laptop and I do not think that you will find all the Win7 drivers.
    According to the Toshiba - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB9902P50000R01.htm - your laptop isn't supported Win7 and find the drivers won't be so easy.

    Got a huge problem with my laptop. I have a satellite pro A100-830. Part number: PSAACE-00W002EN. About 2 years ago

    I can run on the current system. But it will not work on battery. I just bought a new battery and it shows on the computer.
    I get indications are:

    battery charge amber lit.
    Light on power
    Power meter indicates the battery charge. I connected new battery and it shows 47% and now 3 hours later its still 47%
    If I unplug the power to the computer shuts down and will not work on battery.

    the AC light seems to be slightly duller than the one next to him, if that makes sense.

    Ive tried updating the BIOS etc but I'm ideas if im honest as im not a computer pro. I searched the internet but I can't find an answer

    In my view BIOS update won't help you much. I think electronic power is responsible for this BIOS update ahs no influence on this.

    I just got a laptop, Toshiba Satellite Pro 4270... I installed win 98 on it and it works beautifully.

    But then I added LAN PCMCIA card in computer and wanted to do some sufring. I encountered a problem.

    The card is 3Com Fe575C and I downloaded the latest drivers from www.3Com.com/warranty, but that did not help. I also ran regclean and reinstalled the card after that. Always the same fault. With my own laptop (win2k pro), the card works perfectly with no additional drivers, so the map itself is not defective.

    I guess it is Win 98 Second Edition You are using on the 4270.
    Please go to driver download site and download the INF-update to the PC Card controller. I think this should solve your problem.

    While you are at it download the other drivers you need more.
