But I used iPod Classic to niece to AZ.  I will be able to activate it on my behalf

Knowing that I had trouble with my now discontinued iPod classic my niece to AZ sent me one that is no longer using his family.  He always has his name on it and a song.  I'll be able to activate in my name here in New York?

Yes. An iPod classic does not directly communicate with the Internet.

  • iPod classic connects to the computer

    Hello

I have an iPod classic, since 2005.

It will charge from the grid, but when you plug it into the computer it does nothing... Does not make a noise, does not load... Nothing, only thing that happens is that when you disconnect the computer screen lights illuminates... tried all USB ports, still is not, tried 3 computers, does not work on any...

so I tried 2 more iPods, an iPod classic in 2004 and it worked fine. Tried an iPod nano of 2007 once again absolutely worked well...

really annoying me now that I want to sync music on the classic...

tried resetting the iPod, tried to run in the other mode keeping the home button and menu, press the button home-and play... None of them worked either

When you "recharge sector" (which I assume means an adapter of any), are you using the docking cable that you use with the computer?  When you connect iPod from 2004 and 2007 iPod nano to the computer, you use the same USB docking cable used with the iPod in 2005?

Is the power supply adapter ("hands") accomplice of old load powering FireWire supported, not USB load?  Accessories older load use FireWire instead of USB charging, which has a different voltage and uses different "pins" on the dock connector.  An iPod from 2005 (probably a 5th generation "video" iPod) to connect to the computer via a USB port, but it can recharge using the USB or FireWire power.

If you can confirm that the port host USB cable to connect the iPod in 2005 is good, my guess is that the 2005 iPod dock connector will not properly connect to USB power.  It can be worn or damaged.  Therefore, it does not connect to the USB port on the computer.  However, it always connects to FireWire, so she received the adapter (which feeds the FireWire).

Use a flashlight to look inside the iPod dock connector, to visually check for damage, corrosion, dust or debris.

  • How can I turn on iCloud library music on my iPod Classic 180 GB

I have an iPod Classic 180 GB which I only use in the car.

When I try to transfer the Playlist of 'Music Apple' I get the following message

I can't find an option on my iPod Classic to turn on iCloud music library.

    If someone can advise?

I suspect that the answer will be that the iPod Classic doesn't support Apple's music

I'll be disappointed if I can't do it. Pay £15 a month for music from Apple, but not being is not able to use my iPod Classic in the car with her will suck...

Well, it's more fundamental than that... iPod classic doesn't have an Internet connection, so there is no way to access your music to iCloud library.  And it does not support downloads of music by Apple (song subscribed files you can download Music from Apple), because it can not verify your subscription (no Internet connection) as required by the content producers.  only iPod that can play songs music from Apple's iPod touch, because it is an iOS with Internet, like the iPhone and the iPad device.

  • I'm told my iPod classic is not compatible with the latest version of iTunes and I need to buy a new iPod

I have an iPod classic, 160GB, 2009 (I think that I bought in 2011, but they say it's a 2009 version).  I took good care of her, and it worked wonderfully for me.  Recently, with the latest updates of my OS, iTunes, etc. on my MacBook, I got the iPod synchronization problems.  This last time I tried, the iPod has not been recognized by iTunes, or it would be recognized and switch between connected and synchronization, but never go further.  Finally, if I left it long enough that, it would eventually be sync, but then he would go back and forth between sync synchronization, connected and finishing.  After leaving he did that for a while, he would finally come with an error message saying that the iPod could not be synchronized.  Then my iPod was erased at all to this subject (everything is always on my iTunes at least library).  I tried to restore my iPod, which she did, and then synchronize everything again.  He went through the process of synchronization, only to say in the end could not be synchronized.  Sometimes my iPod not even be recognized by iTunes.

So I called Apple Support and they told me that my iPod software is not compatible with the iTunes software.  Both were up to date, so I think I 2.0.4 on my iPod and 12.3.2.35 on my iTunes.  Apple told me that I can't go back to an earlier version of the iPod software because I have no iPod backups on my iTunes.  Therefore they told me the only solution is to spend $ 400 on a new iPod, which I can't afford to do it, nor have you I feel it's a reasonable solution, since my iPod is perfectly good and I was very careful care of her.

Is there anything that can be done to make the two compatible?  Can I download an older version of iTunes?  I'll be able to get my most recent iTunes library on the older iTunes?  Should not continue making it compatible, the iPod classic and iTunes since so many people use iPod classic, and they are the only thing like him around?

I looked in the other forums on the topic, but nothing seems to talk about this compatibility problem and provide a solution.  Someone at - it ideas?  Can you manually manage your music on your iPod, even if the two are not "compatible"?

    Thank you!

So I called Apple Support and they told me that my iPod software is not compatible with the iTunes software.

Seriously...?  My 'classic' 3rd gen iPod in 2003 still works fine with the latest version of iTunes and the latest OS X.  Even the original iPod should still work (assuming the iPod itself still works).  Your iPod classic 2009 is certainly consistent.  That support the needs of the person coming back through training...

When you connect it now, it seems in iTunes?  Are you able to select in iTunes, go to the settings screen, where you see the iPod photo and name in the upper left corner of the window and a box below that?

  • Factory reset/erase iPod Classic on a Mac

I recently bought a used iPod Classic.  It is full of music I want.  I want to "restore".  When I get to the point where I enter my password in iTunes, just dialog "shakes" and noting happens.  Is the problem that I don't know the password of the person who originally owned the iPod?

    Thank you!

When you restore the iPod, you can get a window of application.  Who is not related to iTunes or iPod.  It's for your Mac user account.  Enter the admin user account name and the password, as you do when installing new software.

  • iPod Classic recognized by iTunes but used to synchronize

I just bought a refurbished iPod Classic (Genesis 6 160 GB). The iPod looks and works as if it was new. I connected the iPod on my laptop and iTunes recognizes it. However, when I try to sync the iPod, nothing happens. The load bar that say 'Start Sync' appears for a split second, then goes, and I get the prompt saying "iPod sync is complete." However, nothing synchronized. I restored the setting on the iPod and even made sure that I upgraded to the latest version of iTunes, with no luck. My computer is and has been authorized for iTunes and I even changed the name of my iPod in iTunes, as it was the name of my old iPod, to see if he has made all the difference. Don't know what to do here, especially since the classics are discontinued.

Some iPod Classic s even if ongoing renovation have trouble recognizing a new computer. The previous owner probably plugged his iPod into his computer several times. Kind of like when you connect your phone to the computer for the first time, the phone and the computer synchronization together. Even if you restored the setting on the iPod, I try and take back to factory settings, if there is still this option. Hope this helps, good luck

  • I am looking to buy a 'new' ipod classic. IPod Superstore claims get the new Apple iPod that Apple is still making them for 5 years, but only to sell them to a few suppliers for resale. Is this possible?

I am looking to buy a 'new' ipod classic. IPod Superstore claims get the new Apple iPod that Apple is still making them for 5 years, but only to sell them to a few suppliers for resale. Is this possible?

Probably not still making them, but Apple political is to the service of produced at least five years after they is no longer manufactured and sold

"Owners of iPhone, iPad, iPod or Mac products can get the services and Apple parts or service providers from Apple for 5 years after that the product is longer manufactured,' which is

Vintage and obsolete products - Apple Support

With the iPod, 'maintenance' means often giving you a replacement to pay the off-guarantee fee, which is $ 299 for the last classic model of the iPod, according to this document

Pricing of the Service - The Apple iPod Support

So Apple probably has a stock that's enough to last up to five years after 2014 (when the last classic model of the iPod has been abandoned).  This provider is unlikely to be an authorized dealer, as well as the iPod has not perhaps be covered by the standard warranty of one year.  That's why it comes in a regular white box, not a retail box.  It's supposed to be a replacement of maintenance for the iPod classic (latest model) owners.  It can be 'used', but it is still old.  Parts like LCD, HDD and the age of the battery by sitting in a warehouse.

  • My Macbook Pro, El Capitan will not recognize my ipod classic 30 GB, but my windows 7 laptop work done!

My Macbook 2010 installed pro that el capitan will recognize not my 30 GB classic ipod, but my work Windows 7 once laptop I installed iTunes does! Great, I thought, I'll reset the iPod to FACTORY DEFAULTS and clean and I hoped that my Mac would then see the ipod, but NO, not even appear in disk management. Have now tried 3 or poss 4 duct, which is a brand new 'authentic apple' one. It's really annoying. My iPhone 6 works fine, but I want the iPod when I run in the rain and connect to the older stereo on the truck. It seems that nothing wrong with the iPod itself, even if she had a replacement of the battery some time ago and worked fine since. He has never synchronized with my Macbook. I tried before El Capitan and several times since getting the laptop last year with Yosemite installed.

Of course, I followed the Apple Support Troubleshooting, which basically is useless in this case. I have the latest version of iTunes, recently updated.

Can someone please help! I am obsessed and really want to work. I love my iPod classic and will use it and get the case has been refurbished. It seems that historically there was a * of a lot of problems of this kind, has everyone just gave up and put their iPod to their phones in a cell?

Any help would be appreciated. He drives me crazy and I googled all out.

Has been one of the things you tried to put the iPod in Disk Mode?

Put the iPod in disk - Apple Support Mode

Is "Disk Manager" the pre-installation disk utility application?

If you put in Disk Mode and connect, it acts as a simple USB storage device, so it should appear at least in disk utility.

  • I have a iPod Classic 30 GB. I have a new macbook pro and I managed to put my iPod, but now I can't synchronize my iTunes to iPod. What should I do next?

iPod Classic does not sync with iTunes on MacBook Pro.

If "reset" means you did a restore on it (to erase it), after the restoration, the iPod is set by default to use the parameter manually manage music and videos] .  If you expect not to sync automatically, you need to Sync music.

Connect iPod and to find his button on the device to iTunes.  The screenshot below shows the left upper corner of the window of my iTunes, iPod button circled in red.

Click this button to display the settings of the iPod summary screen in the iTunes window.  Along the left side, in the sidebar, under settings, click on music.  Parameters of music from the iPod screen to the right.  Check the box to Sync music.

NOTE: For anyone else reading this, all the songs of the iPod that are not in your iTunes library will be lost.

This enables automatic synchronization.  You can choose to synchronize your entire music library or a part of the selection .  Implement this screen as you want, and then click apply to sync iPod.  Further, iTunes automatically keeps iPod "in phase" with the changes in your music library (or the selected part of it), when you connect the iPod (or click sync , if already connected).

If this isn't the problem, thanks for posting back with additional details about your situation.

Long ago with including works on devices was optional, and you can sometimes fix cache work on a device by not including and then add it again. This choice has long since disappeared. A complete restoration and reloading is now the only method to recreate the cache.

  • Sync of the Ipod Classic from 2 computers using HomeShare

I have an iPod classic which is fully functional and in good condition with no problems.

I have a laptop and a desktop computer.  The laptop is a netbook and very slow. I recently installed iTunes on the desktop computer and cannot find my external hard drive to transfer music.  I did share House on two computers, since I have wifi at home.  There were a couple of albums that I put on the itunes of google drive, so I'm able to say that there is music, it takes the laptop and the music that was already on the desktop itunes. He cannot afford to make playlists using music from the desktop and shared music of homeshare; is it possible to actually use the wifi connection to get music on itunes on the computer so that it is the same thing, or do I have to manually transfer the music as well? If I sync ipod from the desk top music will there be to synchronize?

To load songs on an iPod (which is not an iPod touch), the files must be stored locally on the computer running iTunes to sync the iPod.  You can use the 'normal' file sharing via your WiFi connection (not related to iTunes) to transfer music files between computers and add the songs in the iTunes library, that you use to synchronize the iPod.
