Have you used the utility changes or registry to remove the shortcut arrow overlay?
First make sure the utility is uninstalled and the registry change is removed.
Try this and check if that helps:
1. right click on a box empty desktop and select Customize.
2. click on adjust the resolution of the screen.
3. in the drop-down color menu, select medium (16 bit).
4. click on apply.
5. when Windows you asked if you want to keep these settings, click No to restore your 32-bit color depth.
6. restart your computer.

Somehow, I adjusted the size of my desk, bar of tasks and new windows that open. The windows are currently "maximized", but do not take to the top of my computer screen size. There is a black box around all the sides of my screen (including my desktop and the taskbar). How normal view again?

On my bookmarks toolbar, my favorites 'buttons' display the icon AND text. I want to just display the icon, no text. When I right click, customize, the "Customize toolbar" window opens. Down in the lower left corner the drop of the "show" option is already set to "icons" (and only the icons). But it's just not so. The toolbar buttons display icons AND text. If I scroll through the drop-down list just for fun, it doesn't change. I choose "icons (only)" all day, but the toolbar buttons always display text.

Hey people this is the strangest question. Device Surface RT of my wife had the keyboard AND the small button of windows on the prior to completely stop working. The game mouse and left and right mouse keys still work. Also, there is still a small noise when you press the keys, but nothing appears on the screen. I tried to plug and reconnect the cover touch, tried to uninstall and reinstall the drivers, and then I put in place a whole new profile on the machine and the button keyboard and windows worked fine. Then I connected to our desktop PC of Windows 8 with my wife and found that the keyboard does not work there either! Maybe there is a setting or another that has been altered in its account of Microsoft and now the setting is homelessness... it's the strangest problem. Has anyone ever heard talk about him? MikeNone of these methods did the trick. The real solution was to change a configuration setting in the center of the "ease of access". I had a setting called "Turn on filter keys" turned on, as well as some detailed within this feature options. Given that I had roaming profile through devices settings, it affects all devices connected to this account. After that I fixed it in the same place, the new setting propagated to the others and the problem was solved! In addition, I hope that Windows 8 product team numbers how 'error proof' this 'feature' which is configurable in the next update of product, since I can't imagine any scenario of "ease of use" could involve expanding the physical buttons on the keyboard and windows stop working while still making small noises as if they work.

I would say you rebuild the icon cache and check if the problem persists.
a. press the keyboard Windows logo key combination + R to bring up the Run dialog box.

Shortcut on the desktop for Windows Defender
Hello. I have Windows 7 starter on my netbook and want to create a shortcut on the desktop for Windows Defender. However, it does not appear as a program in the start menu and the option to display the control panel more big or small icons is greyed out (i.e., not available in starter edition), I don't see the program on the control panel or the other. The only way I can get to it is to type in 'Defender' in the search field in the start menu or the search field on the control panel. Although one of these actions will locate Windows Defender, they do not provide me the ability to create a shortcut for the application. @=""It seems that I managed to solve the problem on my own. Did two things:
1 set the registry keys determine programs associated objects 'Répertoire', 'Drive' and 'File' to the default values by using the settings found here: http://www.dougknox.com/xp/file_assoc.htm
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\2. If you want to have permissions for group 'Users' to read all these keys in the registry. For some reason any access worked only partly for standard users.
Not sure who finally solved this problem, but after I had finished 1. and 2. for the purpose of 'Record', by clicking on 'My computer' and any folder works normally for all users of the computer.
I suspect that some recent installation of program which adds actions associated with these objects messed up the registry. Suspects are Norton Antivirus and dbPowerAmp.
