  My menu rollover State does not work the button parent in my menu while I'm on a page of the child. I didn't have any currently active States in the menu. How can I get the parent menu to respect the rollover State even while I'm on one of the child pages?

• Possibility to change the rollover button via events State?

  I have a small AIR application, I wrote that basically allows instructors open vehicle different sovereign control panel, set the positions of the controls on the Panel and then take screenshots for their educational materials. Since some of the panels receive enough complex, I thought it would be nice to have a function such that they could see where all of the invisible buttons are for all controls on a Panel.

  My first thought was to just put all the buttons to their rollover State, but that went nowhere part quickly (they aren't MovieClips, they are SimpleButtons), so my next thought was to send somehow a turning event to each button to force it to the rollover State. But I can't seem to get anywhere with anyone...

  If I do:

       btnDn.dispatchEvent( new Event(MouseEvent.MOUSE_OVER) );
  

  nothing notable happens.

  Does anyone have pointers on this? I'm looking for something stupid and impossible?

  I have a DIY class where I simply swap the upState and exaggerate buttons, but it feels ridiculous overkill for something that seems like it should be so simple...

  a temporary variable is necessary.  If you want to optimize this code so there's minimal work for the flash player, use:

  You can try to use the widget of the Composition of the ToolTip. In this way, the trigger area is isolated and a "State of reversal" can be placed anywhere on the screen (compared to the trigger).

  I'm buildding a button custom for a video gallery, which shows three animations different while flipping. The background image becomes more dark, the blades in a graphic element and text fades.

  The problem is that the text disappears only when the mouse is directly over the text. But the buton is much greater.

  For bild, this animation, I use three instanses of transition musethemes.com widget State. Then I group all these elements together and put them in a button on the State.

  Please check whether the transition of the State applies to the text only or the entire frame. The effect should be applied to frame so that on the law, the image effect will be rendered on the page.

  Yes, you can STROKE around the button of the active state. You must select the button, then go to the States, click on 'Active' and add STROKE.

  I should have said this before: filters work that on movieclips and text (it is possible to make the buttons using clips). Do you mean that the filter Panel is not open? Click windows > filters (somewhere in windows, search) to open the filters Panel. So to add a filter in the filter Panel, click the add sign and choose what you want (glow/blur etc.).

• Problem of FW CS4 export buttons with rollover to dreamweaver

  Fireworks newbie here-

  I created a button with several States in fireworks cs4 and have problems exporting to Dreamweaver.

  (1) if I have the file-> Preview in the browser by the key works fine.

  (2) if I export using the "HTML and Images" export option, my button works correctly.

  (3) but if I export using the "CSS and Images" export option, my button does not work. When I take a glance at what has exported to Dreamweaver, I notice that only the gif for the up State was exported and I also notice that no javascript code has been exported.

  I'm stumped, any suggestions?

  Yes, your observation is correct. Export CSS + Images does not include Javascript, only the texts, the slices of rectangles and images. JavaScript is only included export "HTML + Images", which is a traditional prototype export. It creates fixed, based on tables layouts is not really suitable for production sites.

  As far as I know, the two workflows is not interchangeable and is intended for different purposes. If you go for export of CSS and other changes in DW, I recommend to use CSS for your States of button sprites. Also, if you go this route, it is a good idea to familiarize yourself with the features and limitations of export CSS + Images:

  I used dreamweaver swapimage behavior and remove the swap image restore behavior which is standard.

  This way the user of my site could see where they had been on a page, even if they leave and come back.

  You have changed the fill color of the text block that is the text, and not the color of the text. Pointer tool select a menu item. "Menu Item" should appear in the Control Strip. Then go to the 'Text' Panel and set the color of the text, while in the State that you want to target.

  This works as expected. Active state removes change it to any other State on the interaction of the mouse and other States work only on the links that are currently in Normal condition.

  Hi Ben,

  Just create a Menu and with the Normal State is selected, use the fill options to fill an image in the Menu item. Select the rollover / the mouse to the bottom of the State in the States Panel, then assign an image by using the options to fill again. This is a swap of base image using normals and States of Muse down mice.

  If you view the source code of your HTML file, you see stage.enableMouseOver ();?

  

  That should be generated automatically if you have a button symbol, but if for some reason that is not, you can add stage.enableMouseOver (); to your actions to animate that should help.

  If you're still having problems, can you share an example reduced (with only one of your buttons) so that we can solve the problems?
