  Thank you for using communities Support from Apple. From your post, I understand that you do not see the Message Viewer box which allows you to read your e-mails; only see you the Inbox that includes a brief overview of the message and are unable to restore access using the separator bars. I have had this happen to my own Mail app and am happy to let you know how I could fix!

  You are really on the right track - you want to roll your mouse over the divider between the Inbox and sections Message Viewer (which should now be on the extreme right edge of your mail window) and drag it to the left.  When you click on the receipt/Message Viewer box, the cursor turns into a line continuous black with a single arrow pointing to the left. When you see the cursor change, click with the left button of the mouse and (while holding down the mouse button in) drag the combination line / arrow to the left. You may need to drag a little further than before to get it. I had to hang mine almost completely in the middle of my Mail app before the display of the message box appeared.

  From there, you should be able to adjust the boxes to your widths you want as expected.

  If you are still not able to get the display of the messages visible after have try this, here are a few more things that you can do.

  1. Press command + O on your keyboard.
  2. Exit the Mail application, and then press on and hold the SHIFT key on your keyboard while reopening.
  3. Restart your Mac by selecting the menu  Apple in the upper right of your screen restart from the menu drop down.

  I've recently updated to El Capitan.  In latest versions OS Mail, when you opened a message, there is an icon at the top of the window of the message before the title and you can click and drag the open message to the mailbox to check it.  The icon is now gone and I can't find a way to do this without finding the original message in my Inbox.  Is there a way to get around this?  The reason why I want to do this is because I often open the messages I need to treat and leave them open as a reminder.  The message in the Inbox becomes buried in hundreds of others and so it is easier to find and move the open message that he finds in the Inbox list.

  Try dragging the message header. I can't test this on a machine of El Capitan right now, but I think it works.

  I used to be able to just click on a the site address and drag it to the bookmarks toolbar so that all I had to do was click on the name and go right to this site. Right now I have several, but the toolbar is not even half full. Yet, somehow I am more able to do it. I click on the address of the site to highlight and drag it to the toolbar to add it, but when it gets to the toolbar there one of these circles with a line through it, indicating that it is not allowed. I don't know why I've done it in the past but can't now. Is there is setting I could have chosen which changed the ability to do? I have only adblock as an add-on. I don't know that I had that when I added the other sites. Unless I'm badly remember how I've done this before, but I'm sure I just clicked and dragged. Can someone tell me what might have changed to not allow this anymore?

  Alright - nevermind. Got it to work. I didn't have to add the site ICON (to the left of the address of the site) now to add it. I am absolutely SURE that I use the front icon when I dragged the other sites. I never even noticed the icon before. Always right, I clicked on the address to select and dragged that. Maybe firefox changed it in one of their updates. Thanks for the help if dad7732.

  Try two things...

  (1) the songs greyed out can be unchecked. Uncheck the songs are normally excluded from track to track synchronization and normal. With the help of the songs or the list view Ctrl + click on an empty box to check all the boxes in the list of active reading.

  (2) try to go to file > library > Update music library to iCloud and do the update.
