Hello
I am new to programming in c# and would like to know the/favorite for the best method to connect to a SQL database using the native client.
I tried to TCP/IP which seems very slow and the outdoors and also appointed who is almost instantaneous.
Having not used before named pipes are there advantages or disadvantages to use?

Wandering SQL Native Client Datasource - apparently, it's a pretty common problem and I see several resolutions to it. This problem started for our long company until I started working here. We do not allow remote connections. JDE Enterprise Server and SQL server are on the same subnet. Users are on a different subnet. SQL Server gets this message tries to connect to the Server Enterprise JDE:
Connection failed: State 08001 ' SQL': SQL Server Error 10061: Microsoft SQL Native Client TCP provider: no connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.
I tried several suggested solutions and do not get the case. Any help is appreciated. Thank you, Sophie

Change Vcenter DSN 2005 SQL native client for SQL 2008 native client
Hi all.
I tried to upgrade our Vsphere for VM Windows 5.5 to Vsphere 6.0 for Windows (latest version of January).
The upgrade checking failed after entering the credentials of user Vcenter. The error is 'unsupported database driver.
In fact the DSN connection uses the SQL native client 2005.90.2047. Is also on the system SQL native client 10. (Version 2009.100.2500) is installed. I think it's the SQL 2008 R2 native client.
The SQL Vcenter database is on a remote database SQL 2008 R2 server.
I tried to change the DSN of SQL native client 10. The service started, but I've seen lots of SQL errors in the vpxd.log. I could solve only to return to the snapshot and restore the SQL database.
How can I change the SQL Native client to connect DSN correctly?
Thank you very much in advance?
Edy
Have you removed the old DSN entry and created a new using the driver of the new (and good)? And have you checked the registry if your change reflected here (\VMware Virtualcenter\DB HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VMware, Inc.)?

Unable to connect to the Cisco VPN you use native client: El Capitan
I'm unable to connect to the Cisco VPN using native client server Cisco OSX via IPSec. Before the upgrade for connections VPN El Capitan has worked without any problems. VPN uses the shared secret of group. It seems, I get the error "raccoon [2580] ': could not send message vpn_control: Broken pipe ' during the connection."
When I upgraded to El Capitan, VPN connection has stopped working. I tried to do the following:
* connect using the old work VPN connection: without success
Config: Hand [server address, account name],
AUTH settings [shared secret, the Group name].
Advanced [mode to use the passive FTP = TRUE]
errors:
"authd [124]: copy_rights: _server_authorize failed.
"raccoon [2580]: could not send message vpn_control: Broken pipe"
...
* Add new VPN connection using L2TP over IPSec: without success
Config: Hand [server address, account name],
Authentication settings [user authentication: password, identification of the Machine: Shared Secret].
Advanced [send all traffic on the VPN = TRUE]
errsors:
"pppd [2616]: password not found in the system keychain.
"authd [124]: copy_rights: _server_authorize failed.
...
* Add new connection using Cisco via IPSec VPN: without success
Main config: [server address, account name].
AUTH settings [shared secret, the Group name].
Advanced [mode to use the passive FTP = TRUE]
errors:
"authd [124]: copy_rights: _server_authorize failed.
"raccoon [2580]: could not send message vpn_control: Broken pipe"
VPN server is high and does not work and accepts connections, this problem is entirely on the client side.

What connection method used by SQLs embedded in C/C++?
Hello.
I've seen a lot of information on Pro * C and embedded SQL in C/C++ applications instructions.
But have not found any information - which method of connection it use?
Actually Pro * C replacement integrated SQL statements with all Oracle API calls.
Usually there are generated using "struct sqlexd" API calls sqlcxt() function and structure.
But which method of connection used by this approach?
You know - Java using JDBC, some programs use OIC but this is something different, so my question is that what the 'official name' of the connection method used by the Oracle API based on the sqlcxt() function?
Would also be good to know - where sqlctx() function is declared, defined? Which include, which library file?
Kind regards

Different results when contacting 11g DB using various connection methods
Greetings:
First of all, thank you in advance for any help you can provide.
I'm looking for help to determine why certain methods of connection to a working DB production 11.2.0.3.0 64-bit, while others do not. I tried 7 connection methods, some work, some give an ORA-12541: listener TNS:no error. When connecting to a test instance, all 7 work very well.
I'm not a server admin, but the following information obtained from them: both servers are running Linux RedHat Enterprise Server 5.10 (Tikanga). Both run Oracle 11 g Enterprise Edition 11.2.0.3.0 64 bit. Each is on a different subnet. Each has a different DNS suffix up to the last section of the suffix, which is the same on both. I don't know if the firewall rules are different. Production server is a physical box, test server is a virtual machine.
Results below are attempts to connect to the production server made from my Win7 64-bit workstation. Once again, all attempts to test server are successful.
Method Result
ODP.net 12.1.0.1.0 or 12.1.0.1.2 as an object in PowerShell 32 or 64 bit ORA-12541 .net
. UDL file by using the provider, Oracle OLE DB of the ODAC 64bits 11.x or ORA-12541 12.x
SqlPlus of Oracle Instant Client 11.x or ORA-12541 12.x
Toad with entry in file TNSNames.ora success
SQL Developer using the success TNSNames.ora file entry
ODBC System DSN using Oracle 11 g pilot success
TNSPing with entry in file TNSNames.ora success
So, what's different in the methods of connection or network protocols between these methods that fail and those who succeed? Our Oracle DBA has tried to help me and claims that the file of the listener on the server is correctly configured. It seems to be useful, so I don't think it's brushing me off. I did not have access to check it myself, so must continue in the event that it is. So I'm assuming that the TNS listener error is generated because my traffic does not reach the DB rather than the listener being misconfigured file. However, if
My ultimate goal is to connect to prod using ODP.net in the PS script to make read-only SQL queries. Works very well with the test, but of course, this data is not current.
Thanks for any help! -EW
EW, were all the client tries the same machine or different machines? I hope your problem is either the entry in the file tnsnames.ora for connections of problem which can be different even from other tools on the machine even if multiple Oracle homes exists on the client. Check the files tnsnames.ora entries. If host names are referenced, verify that the client can recognize the hostname (DNS). You may need to use an IP address instead. Here's a more complete list of the possible causes of this problem.

How can I control the number of clients connecting to one or more access points?
Hi guys,.
I am using several access points LWAPP/CAPWAP (1010, 1131, 1142) connected to the 4400 series wlan controllers (OS Version 4.2 and 7.0).
Regarding the client connection to access points, I have several questions:
1. extent to which clients can connect to an access point (maximum possible vs recommended)?
2. can I limit the maximum number of clients connecting to the access point in the gui controller? I found how to configure thresholds for sending traps when a number of clients connected to an access point is reached.
3 How can I balance the number of customers between two adjacent ap, who use the same SSID?
Best regards
Thorsten

ORA-12518: TNS:listener could not hand off client connection
Hello
I'm getting "ORA-12518: TNS:listener could not hand off client connection" error trying to connect to the "PDB". Here are the details of my env and I do:
Windows 7
My PC to install Oracle 11 g 2 Client (that's how I got this PC). And I already 11 GR 2 installed Oracle software and a local database that is named "ORCL" (whichdesignates currently the stop).
Yesterday, I installed Oracle 12 c (12.1.0) and created ORCL12C (CBD) and a PDBORCL (PDB). I connected to the PDBORCL as SYS and created user 'SCOTT '.
I am able to connect to ORCL12C (PEH) without any problem (SQL * more and TOAD). I can go to PDBORCL (alter session set container = pdborcl) without problem. But I get the error above (ora-12518 am) when I try to connect to the user 'SCOTT' created in 'PDBORCL' using SQL * more or TOAD. I want to connect to the user SCOTT and create objects in schema SCOTT, etc.. I get the same error, even if I try to connect to the PDB as user SYS (alter session command works fine).
I am new to 12 C. So it is quite possible that I'm doing something fundamentally wrong.

SQL dev to connect via odbc to non-oracle db
Question asked to me regarding the use of sql dev to connect to a Turbo Image databsae running on a HP-3000 through odbc. They have odbc drivers, but the front-end client is no longer supported and are looking for an alternative. I've never used Dev of SQL to connect to a non-oracle database, but it seems as it should, maybe with the OTG for odbc.
Ideas?
We are a java application. Yes JDBC.
And we offer only 3rd connectivity to help migration of Oracle. Currently we do not support Turbo-Image of database migration to Oracle.
There are however several ODBC database generic tools out there.

Question about how the SQL Developer to connect to DB
I'm testing the recovery WORK and client connection, for a db 3 cluster node by rigging the first entry in my tnsnames.ora file and connecting with SQL Developer.
In theory, Developer SQL should fail over to the second node listed in my tnsnames.ora file.
The problem is that no matter what I put in my tnsnames.ora file, Developer SQL still connects to the first database listed, proddb1, EVEN if I have 1) remove this entry from the TNS and 2) when I mistyped the entry so it is not resolve in DNS.
So, how Developer SQL connects to the DB? Y at - it a cache somewhere that I don't see?
You specify the TNSnames directory in preferences? It is possible, it uses the evil tns file to make the connection. It is even possible he finds several TNS files in that directory, and it does not use the one you intend to let him. You can see if you follow this 'thing'.
