C20 vs 50PA5500 LG simplink/CEC question

Hi all

Please help me to the next question. I don't want to open a TAC case for this...

Thus our client has a C20 of Cisco (tc5.1.3) with 2 LG 50PA5500. The problem is that the codec might not turn off TV after that you will stay, to only, you get the white screen for 3 seconds and after to get the magic cube of 'no signal' LG or what :-)

I don't know that exactly the TV will turn off after 10 or 15 minutes. I think it is a factory and I couldn't edit this time setting :-(

Codec/TV settings:

I put the HDMI CEC: on both outputs in the codec.

I put the simplink YOU into TVs.

The switch is working properly, if you turn off the TV manually with the remote control the Cisco is able to wake up to the TV. So this way is working properly but the contactor is not.

The question is who will be any solution in the next version of tc (6.0) for this LG problem or not?

Please advise,

BR

Balázs

Another good point to look for is the bug toolkit:

http://www.Cisco.com/cgi-bin/support/Bugtool/launch_bugtool.pl

I briefly looked but did not find something that would fit in your question.

Nor in the TC5 notes that I can't find anything matching this version number.

But what has also said LG "try a new firmware.

I had red things on monitors where the port pc or disabled overscan disabled cec...

With its integration issues always worth even to know who is the only one of misconduct.

Is the C20, one connected system? I would unplug everything and try another

port of entry.

Unless you get a better answer, I would recommend is to climb this case

as a service to Cisco TAC request.

    Chet

The factory reset procedure was changed in software version TC5.1, so anything before that has a different procedure than newer versions.

As has been mentioned by Jens - factory reset procedure is different on the version of the software you are using, so, in your case, with the TC5.0 software, you will need to use the "old way".

There are a description of the methods in the jrandby post in the thread c20-factory - default - power button .

As mentioned in the Troubleshooting Guide (pages 22-25), the physical method of performing a factory reset is one of the last options resort - there are other methods, first of all, you should try.

  • Simple question on a Cisco/Tandberg C20 codec

    Hi guys,.

I would like to ask your advice on a question, one of our customers recently raised; Here's the short story:

After that his ISP set at level a GK Radvision, customer knew no video, on its C20s, multi point conferences (video was successfully sent well).

After an initial diagnosis, the customer said that the question can be put in the C20 non acceptance/negotiation QCIF video Protocol (used in Radvision and other old stuff eventually to join the Conference).

As a solution, ISP has suggested to activate via SSH (command API) specific C20 (QCIF) Protocol (which is apparently not enabled by default... According to the ISP support)

Now, I know, C20 already supports QCIF and has to be without having to activate it via the specific shell commands!

... Besides there no reference in the documentation of the API C20 on a specific command.

What I suspect is that from time to time, an old codec ISDN connects to the Conference (perhaps as a first candidate) and somehow requires the MCU to negotiate some weird codec leading to no video (... Indeed, we saw through a troubleshooting session, conneting that theree different IP partecipants and we have not had any problems at all!).

Could you please let me know if I am mistaken and C20 accepts indeed default QCIF? ... If Yes, please could you me the command to allow it?

    Thank you very much!

    -Andrea

You're right C20 QCIF support in the default configuration, and no need to add a special command for him to allow.

Just for example, below is capset(2) terminal of C20 redefining this as video can be receive and including QCIF with multiple video Protocol.

Although using QCIF with C20 is little lose capacity C20 power video treatment, but interesting to understand why the software upgrade of Radvision GK introduce one-way video problem.

Application of C20 log will definitely help to identify or at least limit the first cause of this.

  • Matching C20 with ISDN link question

Hi, can someone help me on initial connectivity C20 with ISDN link? I C20 codec with 1 LAN port which is connected to link ISDN endpoint port, the link ISDN of LAN port is connected to the internal network. I configured the IP Link ISDN: XXX.XXX. XXX.251 and codec on XXX.252 both are the same subnet.

Given that a single LAN port, how can I access the web interface of the codec to check and perform pairing? If in case, the codec is on firmware older supporting not pairing function so how can't I perform manual synchronization. Cannot access the ISDN link by series.

    Hello

CAN´t you just plug your PC on the network internal (same subnet as the ISDN link and the codec) and access the Web interface of the codec: http://x.x.x.252 ?

What versions of software are you using?

  • C20 - run API via SSH with plink logged on as admin

    Hi all

What is the way of interacting ssh vith help API and application plink to run commands on a C20 looged as an administrator?

    Batch script:

    C:\putty\plink.exe-SSH IP_Addresss-l root pw - password C:\C20restartjob\c20.txt m

    C20.txt:

    echo restart now

I would like to be able to run the commands API but being logged on as admin user.

What I use in the c20.txt file if the command is recognized?

    SW: TC 6.X

Thanks in advance for your advice.

         C:\>PLINK.EXE -ssh testc60 -l admin -pw TANDBERG<>

    where C20. Cotains TXT:

  • Some headphones on a c20?

If it's rare, but ask me, I have no c20 in the office, if not tried, but the C20 pickup gives 10-12 V voltage and a microphone are not only a hadset (PC) is in favour to create noise.

It is rare, but if someone did me a big favor...

    Thank you

You can connect headphones to the C20.  You can use the RCA on the C20 outputs to connect the headphones - this should be relatively simple (with 3.5 mm - adapter RCA law).

For the microphone, it will be a bit more complex that, ideally, you will have to convert the microphone asymmetrical helmet on a balanced input to the C20 - and preferably not connect the ring of power.  There are some information about the connection of 3 party microphones already in the forums and elsewhere as well.  They both mention the SX20, but the C20 will be similar.

  • C20 how do upgrade the software?

    Hello

    I want to improve C20 version 6.3.0

    now the version is 4.1

I've been upgraded to 4.1 to 6.3. But 'Dead demand' message T_T

    Can you help me?

    Thank you.

Yes, it's possibel to upgrade codec C20 directly from TC4.x to TC6.x (or even the new version TC7.0.1).

If you are having problems, this via a web browser, there are other methods that can be used (as mentioned by Martin).  See the instructions on how to update via SCP which might be worth a try - they worked for me on a few occasions where I needed to use them.

    Hello world!

May I know if there is a recovery of password on Tandberg C20?

Thank you for your immediate response.

    Kind regards.

    Hi Raoul,.

The only way is to restore the codec to factory default settings:

Disable the C20 by pressing the physical reset button. Now the reset button physical for 15 seconds, the led starts to flash red. Release the button and push two times in the following 5 seconds (the led lights green each pusher). The LED flashes green and the factory reset will begin. The C20 will come up once again with the default settings.

    Hope that answers your question.

    HelloW!

When I try to add SSL cert to C20 codec (TCNC4.2.0.260857), I get "reason: no such file or directory" and nothing happens

Download of CERT and CA check it

If it's a software bug? Any suggestions?

Am I allowed to ask where you live / your endpoint is located?

TCNC version is the one without encryption for some small countries.

If you do not have your licensekey is not valid, him you might be upgraded to the bad software, you should use the TC.

Just download the TC. Release keys are specific for TC and TCNC

If the TCNC version is correct, then it is there no use of ssh, https, SIP, srtp, certificates,...

  • Question about authentication SDI on AnyConnct and ASA

    Hi all

I would like to know about the flow of communication for the AnyConnect client authentication and ASA 5520 SDI.

My client wants to use RSA SecurID On-Demand authenticator (token RSA SecurID On-Demand) between ASA 5520 for SSL VPN and AnyConnect client.

I understand that ASA provides two modes to allow authentication SDI.

Native SDI - ASA communicates directly with the SDI server to manage authentication SDI
RADIUS SDI - ASA communicates to a RADUIS SDI (such as Cisco ACS) proxy and the proxy RADIUS SDI communicates with the SDI server, this means that the ASA does not communicate directly on the SDI server.

I think that, in general (not consider ASA), the client (remote user) needs access to the web page on the server of the SDI for an SDI authentication token when it starts / SSL VPN connection configuration. However, I understand clearly that how SDI authentication works if I use ASA as secure gateway and configure ASA to allow authentication SDI.

So my question is how authentication SDI work on ASA when I use ASA as secure gateway and configure ASA to allow authentication SDI (in both modes).

The customer does not want the AnyConnect client to communicate with the server of SDI directly, but to communicate to ASA only because of their security problem. I don't know why the customer say...

I found the following information of CEC.

    ==========
When a remote user using authentication RADIUS SDI connects to the ASA with AnyConnect and attempts to authenticate using RSA SecurID token, the ASA communicates with the RADIUS server, which in turn, communicates with the SDI server for validation.
    ==========

This means that the AnyConnect client does not communicate with the SDI server directly for authentication of SDI when it starts / SSL VPN connection configuration and the AnyConnect client must communicate with the SAA, because ASA communicates to the SDI server (instead of the AnyConnect client) as proxy?

    Your information would be appreciated.

    Best regards

    Shinichi

    Shinichi,

I had a quick glance at the data sheet

    http://www.RSA.com/node.aspx?ID=3481

I couldn't find the authentication of SMS as code ' on demand ', IE. RSA will communicate somehow with network cellular provider to deliver SMS with part user token. (Phone number should uniquely identify a user)

Please note that it is a little suspicious if the device that you authenticate provide you authentication credentials :-)

Unless you mean a scenario where users connect through ASA to request a token (be it via NAT or perhaps via SSL Portal?) anyway, ASA is usually unconscious because the user has their authentication from the two parties.

Let me know if you meant different on the the request token. I'm curious to see what RSA has in store for us.

  • DMVPN w / multicast of installation/questions

    Hello

I have a lot of questions, so bare with me as I vomit them out of my head.

I did a few tests with DMVPN inconjuction with the multicast video (Star, w / none talking of talk). The test configuration uses 2 cisco 2811 w/out module vpn.  I understand the performance do not have the module. That being said, here are my questions.

    1. with the encryption on the HUB and spokes routers use 90-97% of the cpu (8 MB multicast stream).  With encryption off the coast, the Hub is about 60% and talked about 75%.  Here's where I'm confused.  If I send that same broadcast stream unicast, w / encryption, the hub and speaks using only about 30-35% cpu.  Why is it so much more cpu need when it comes to a multicast stream?

    2. in the current configuration, I entered, throttles and ignore the errors on the hub and the spokes.  The hub has these errors on the LAN interface and speaks has these errors on the WAN interface. All other interfaces are completely clean.  I checked and there is no duplex incompatibilities or speed.  Any ideas?

    Joe,

    You ask the right question.

Ultization CPU = CPU consumed by the process + IO operations (in a huge simplification - CEF)

Usually when a package is processed by the router we expect to be treated by CEF, i.e. very quickly.

Package is not processed by CEF:

-When there is something missing to route the package properly (think entry ARP/CAM) that is additional research needs to be done.

-a feature request that a packet is for transformation/deformation

-The package is for the router

(And many others, but these are the most important).

When a package is recived, but cannot be treated by the CEC, we "punt to CPU package" this will cause in turn the CPU for the process to move upward.

Now on the shelf, this seems to be the problem:

    Spoke#show ip cef switching stati

    Reason                          Drop       Punt  Punt2Host

RP LES Packet destined for us             0       1723          0

    RP LES Encapsulation resource             0    1068275          0

There are also some failures on an output buffer you set.

Usually at this stage I would say:

    (1) ' upgrade' of the device to 15.0 (1) M6 or 12.4 (15) T (last picture in this branch) and check if the problem persists there.

    (2) If this is the case, rotate it by TAC. I don't see any obvious errors, but I'm just a guy on a Chair even as you ;-)

  • Reuse an existing one (currently registered for VCS) C20 with CUCM 8.6.2

    Hello friends...

I have existing C20 which is registed to the VCS control running Software version: TC6.0.0.876266.

Now, I thought of trying to save this to my 8.6.2 CUCM end point. I know that there is a different firmware (file Release TC5.1.3 - COP CUCM) who should be responsible on this endpoint before it can register.

I looked for Cisco docos but they all assume that the Endepoint is already running a friendly of CUCM (file COP) endpoint. No cover that I could find the steps on how to get the file of the Conference of the PARTIES on the endpoint.

Unless he can can be loaded via the CUCM by registering to the CUCM? But my question, it'll still join CUCM if he does not run the

CUCM friendly (COP file) on the endpoint.

Any thoughts on this will be appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Hello

You're poorly understand the concept. C20 and an other TC end points do not have a special firmware to run on CUCM. The COP file that you install on CUCM is just a package to contain the common endpoint upgrade file, the same file that you can download and install manually in your endpoint.

You can then go ahead and enter them on CUCM 8.6.2 is running the same version you, TC 6.0.0.

This document contains all the instructions you need:
