C309a error message when you try to clean the print heads

I use an iMac with Mac OS x 10.6.8 computer and I have the HP Photosmart Premium C309A installed wireless.  I have a problem with printing from the desktop to the C309A and his photo tray, that is, the dialogue continues to tell me the size of the paper or print format is not compatible, even if I used this dozens of times before.  Second, the actual printed photo has been terrible, so I chose the option to clean the print heads.  In the process, the error message appears after 20-30 seconds, saying that he could not completed, then contact HP support.  What can I do to fix this problem of double?
