C4795 WPS connection

Hello

I'm not very 'network' saavy, so I apologize if I'm a little vague.  Basically, my MIL has this printer that was attached to my Dlink 655.  It has worked well.  Recently I updated the firmware and I changed my WPA settings a bit and now it does not connect and of course fixing it has been for me.  I changed the password of the network before without any problems, simply used the WPS button and it worked fine.  This time, however, PIN and push the button out when I try to connect.  So I have been updated the firmware, change the password, and I've also "hidden" SSID.  I thought that might be the problem, so I changed the SSID detetable and still no go.  If anyone can be of assistance in the configuration of this printer?  Thank you

Hiding the SSID is probably the culprit here.  Turn on the broadcast SSID and WPS should work.

Hide the SSID isn't really a measure of security, anyway.  Read more here.

  • Need help with Photosmart C4795 Wireless Connection

What I have: HP Photosmart C4795

What I use: Macbook OSX 10.9.5, wireless network with WEP security, running, I'm not sure if I have WPS or not (don't know how to say or use it)

Problem: I used it as a wireless printer without problem for the past five years.  Recently, I moved and cannot find out how to configure the wireless connection.  USB connection works fine.  I still have the installation software, and as far as I can tell, it is updated (I'm not positive however.)  When I run the HP Installation Wizard, I've got to the point where I select "Set up for wireless" and the HP installation wizard crashes every time.  I scoured the forums and have found conflicting advice about this problem.  Someone please give me a clear answer. is there something I can do to get the job of wireless or no wireless capability is no longer works with Mac OS x 10.8 or superior?

Ah ha! I thought about it.  For anyone who uses an ATT Uverse router, maybe that's your problem.  My router is a NVG589 of Arris.  I don't know about other routers, but I guess that's the same thing.  These routers are capable of WPS, but their default settings have the WPS is off.

    You have to

1 access to the properties of your router via a web browser (Safari, Internet Exploere, Firefox, Google Chrome, etc.) to the address http://192.168.1.254/mdc
"2 click on 'Edit your settings or wireless security'", you will need the code printed at the bottom of your router.
    3. turn on the 'Wireless Protected Setup (WPS)'

From there, you should be able to follow the Setup instructions for printers WPS enabled found here: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02273853

This next set of instructions is specifically for anyone who has a Mac and running the version OS x 10.9 or higher.  (If you don't know how to check this, click on the apple icon in the upper left corner of your screen.  Select "About this Mac" a box will appear with the information of OS x).

    Select Mac OS X.

Select the third option OSX v10.10 Yosemite, Mavericks Xv10.9 OS and OS X v10.9 Mountain Lion.

Select Option 1: Wireless Installation (EVEN IF YOU ALREADY HAVE IT CONNECTED VIA USB.)

Skip the second step and proceed directly to step three.

Select the second method: install the software using Apple software updates

Follow the instructions for the method of the push button.

I hope this helps for those who had as many problems as me!

  • WPS connection for hp photosmart B209a more

yesterday, I downloaded the printer driver to my laptop to make impression on our 2nd printer: hp photosmart b209a more.  my laptop is wireless. Our 2nd computer impressions on the photosmart wireless, but the #2 computer is connected to the internet.  I remember now that the technology said that there no photosmart Island connected from my portable office.

When I use the printer setup menu it just look for connection wps and then message "wps has expired". do you have suggestions on what to try?

Your router has WPS.  It is the button on the top forward.

WPS (push-button) on the printer, then breast push 2 minutes the Start button on the front of the router.

  • Cannot connect HP 6520 wireless printer to my network.

Unable to connect wireless HP 6520 network printer, wireless or via USB of Airport Extreme base.  End of 2014 iMac, 24 Gig of RAM, 1 TB of merger, El Capitan 10.11.4 drive; Last generation airport extreme network (ethernet) for a second Airport extreme, which in turn is connected to an Airport Express and also connected to a 2nd Airport Express wireless.

Have you plugged the printer on the computer directly and made sure it works thus insured that you have the correct drivers for it?

Try using wireless as it works much better than USB.

The closest airport to the location of the printer, turn on WPS to printer via the airport utility.

Do not use the PIN method... HP printers will not pin code work, you must use the first attempt. Then on the printer itself less than 1 min start the WPS connection for the wireless...

  • HP Deskjet 3055 A does not connect to the WIFI with security

I'm trying to configure a Deskjet 3055 A on my DD - WRT router.  I am a highly qualified network engineer, so I don't know 100% what I'm doing.

First, DD - WRT supports WPS connection, because these are very precarious.  This means that my only way to connect the pritner to my home network is to connect to my PC and use the Setup utility (downloaded from your page drivers) I use the 28.8 version.

My router supports the 2.4 and 5 GHz and I know the printer is only 2.4 GHz.  I disabled completely the 5 GHz network in order to connect the printer, even though it shouldn't have any effect.

I restarted my router and reset the printers wireless network using its integrated control panel.

In any case, after a shameful 2 hours troubleshooting, I did discover that the printer WILL NOT CONNECT to the WIFI network if any security is applied against it.  It works 100% fine with open security however, it is totally unacceptable.

I tried both WPA Personal and WPA2 Personal, both with the same effect.

For reasons to try, I added also the printer to my network WIFI open and tried to manually change the setting WIFI via webinterface of printers, however, whenever I try and access the wireless configuration wizard, I simply get an error message saying "Internal system error" - eventually I managed to work around this another bug that has been there for years (see http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Networking-and-Wireless/Internal-System-Error-prevents-access-t...

After installing printers web interface WIFI, the problem is always the same and it does not connect.

HP, we were in the order of 2500 of these printers for users of our remote site.  If you don't come to the top with a quick solution/bug fixed, consider the lost business!

    Concerning

    Ian

After playing well, I managed to find a solution for this!

For all users who are unable to find a solution by using the other methods, here's what to do.

Change your local network to open the safe but note your WIFI settings for your default installation.

Connect the printer to the open network the HP software (via USB cable)

Go to the URL of the printer, but make sure that you connect through HTTPS - if you get an internal system error, keep refreshing until it works (WHAT A JOKE!)

Click on 'Network', then click 'Advanced' on the left.

Enter the network settings as they need to be secured.

Downstairs, check "in an infrastructure network, use 802. 11b / g behavior (assuming that your assisted supports g, otherwise use the b only option), then click on apply.

Turn on your wireless security, on your router and then the printer should connect!

I am really confused as to why this is not automatically enabled, if the printer is not working with security on a Wireless N network wireless, then have this as the default!

HP - feel free to thank me in this post!

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 is not connecting to my router from 3 BT HomeHub

    Hello

I'll put up my new of Officejet Pro 8600 today and I was not able to get connected to my wifi router. If I try to use the wireless configuration wizard, I get an error saying that the password that I entered is incorrect (this is not - I tried several times to be sure) and I can't use the WPS connection option because this feature is currently disabled on the HomeHub 3 routers.

Can I connect the printer directly to a computer (via USB) or router (via ethernet), but none of these options is convenient as a permanent solution, given the current provision of my home office.

MAC filtering is not in place on the router.

You have other options I can try to get this printer running on my home network?

    Concerning

    Sabine

OK - got this problem 10 minutes after posting the original question. Typical!

The solution was to connect to the main desktop via USB and then use the 'Wi - Fi connection transfer' option in the HP configuration utility.

  • How to connect the HP laptop with Sharp TV

Original title: network network adapter Ethernet NIC wireless networking device

I can't get my laptop to show on my TV?  I have access via wireless remote control (cable company modem) connected to my deskuttop computer I ever use.  I use the laptop, but for some reason, no matter what I tried I can't display laptop computer or other computers on TV?  I got it when I first connected my new Blue Ray DVD player but have not been able to get this new since?  I am Windows 7 64 bit and use the Blue Ray device to navigate.  I am able to get Internet via internet connection via Blue Ray device but cannot pull up cell phone, even if it is listed, and connects to the server.  I have to go every time manually in a WPS connection hook that seems to stop working a few moments after, I hook up each time.  Cable operator said no problem since I can get internet connection modem is good, but shouldn't the button WPS Stay connected all the time once that I activate it?  Doesn't seem like it should stay close.  Cable said they think it is a problem between my Sharp TV and my new HP laptop?  This seems realistic?

I apologize for the confusion, I know that I have not made this very clear situation and you will gladly explain all I can better detail, I didn't have what it took.  The simple problem is this, I want to just view and use my laptop by my big screen because I'm disabled and it would be much more convienent for me.

Thanks for any help or suggestions you may have.

You can not normally connect a laptop to a TV via most of the networks.  It is simply not available unless the laptop can use the Intel WiDi system:

    http://www.Intel.com/content/www/us/en/architecture-and-technology/Intel-wireless-display-video.html

You might be able to set up a media player on your laptop that might be able to be picked up by the Blu - Ray / TV media features.

In general, you normally connect a computer to a TV with a VGA on TELEVISION port or a HDMI / DVI cable type.

Oh if the printer is not connected to your network it probably won't work...

You must install the printer on your computer to connect the printer to your wireless network without first that your router does not support WPS connection...

Only if the problem persists once the iPad and conneted to the network printer, and then try the steps listed in my previous post...

  • P1102w wireless install for OSX Mavericks (10.9.1)

    Hello

I want to install a P1102W following your instructions on http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04510394

    Hi dzhou

I understand that you are unable to set up the printer on the wireless network.

I'll be happy to help you with this.

There are two ways you can set up the printer on the 10.9.

I would like to reset the printer first to clear the previous network settings.
Turn the printer off, press and hold the wireless button and cancel (x button) while turning the printer on and do not release both buttons until the printer stops making the noise.

Print a configuration report and check the SSID address and IP are disabled.
(hold down the x key and when the printer makes a noise to let go of taken)

    Method:

Connect the printer to a wireless network using Wi - Fi Protected Setup (WPS) connection
Follow these steps to install the printer using a compatible router WPS.

    Second method:
Set up the printer on another computer (10.7 less or Windows computer) to get an address valid IP for the printer. Then go to the Apple system, printing and scanning preferences, click on + and then highlight the printer, click Add. If this does not add the airprint driver. (pre-installed Apple driver)

I have also provided a document with the steps to a USB and WiFi to install to Maverick. For the wireless installation, the printer must be already on the network with a valid IP address.

If you need more simply make assistance let me know.

  • Photosmart C4780 "cannot find the wireless router.

OK so apparently I'm not as tech savvy as I like to think of myself. I just got a used C4780 and spent 12 hours trying to figure how to set up so that I can print wireless. I had zero luck with that.

I read that the WPS connection method is more easy then I tried that first. After a few failed attempts, I tried to download the software for Windows 8 (as the disc that comes with it only goes to to Windows 7). I got the same error message 4 times (something Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime error), so I then tried the method of the PIN code. After several settings (with the help of my brother on the phone, so I don't really remember what I did unfortunately) just as many failures to connect and I gave up this process.  I printed the 'Network Configuration' Page and the 'wireless network Test report", but I don't have much of a clue as to what it now means. I don't understand what I am doing wrong or what I could do different. The thing that really stumps me, is that the test report said that the printer can't find my router, but at the bottom of the Configuration Page, it lists my wireless network...

    USEFUL/IMPORTANT INFO:

    -HP Photosmart C4780

    -Lenovo all-in-One 8.1 Windows 64 bit

-router made by ARRIS and provided by my ISP (CableONE)

-J' installed all the updates that are available for Windows

-J' restarted the printer, computer, router AND several times

-my wireless router is in another room, but not more than perhaps 20 feet away

Side note: I have also a mini iPad... just throw it out there in case it might be a better tool to put up with... If you need to know something more to help me let me know! Thank you for cause in advance that I'm going stir crazy trying to figure this!

    JanessaMarie92 wrote:
I went on the website of my ISP and discovered that I can't get a new router because of this little note...

"Cable telephone Service is supported only on Arris modems rented your office of a cable or bought by http://yourbroadbandstore.com/solutions/cableone/."

Copy + paste directly from their Web site.

It's OK... you're using their product.  they can always put the Bridge mode.  Call them and tell them that you want to use your OWN router and they put it in Bridge mode.

EDIT - Bridge mode just turns off the router part and use it as a modem only.

Yes, you can, assuming that the AirPort Express is set up to create a wireless network. This means that it must connect to your router wirelessly existing using wired Ethernet fixed, permanent and be configured to use the same wireless network name and password as your 'main' network

    OS: Windows Vista Ultimate Edition

I can't connect to my router using configfree or function of connection in Vista. I was able to connect until I restored it the laptop out of the box state. When I use the WPS feature I get this error "this computer can't connect. Fatal error (error 162). Could not initialize the component COM. Wi - Fi Protected SETUP.

    Anyone know anything about this?

    Hello!

I've ever read on this issue, my friend

In any case, I would first check for yellow exclamation marks Device Manager. Then, to install or update the latest WLAN driver from the Toshiba page we.

In addition, check the TCP/IP settings. If your router supports DHCP, it must define in the network configuration of your wireless network card.
You should also compare the standard WiFi on your laptop and the router. On both devices always must be set the same, for example, 802.11 g or Draft N.

    Good bye

  • How to connect Harman Kardon adapt using WPS

I have a Harman Kardon adapt - whole House audio peripheral wireless which acts as a bridge to existing Hi-Fi - a bit like a bridge of Sonos. It will connect a wi - fi network using WPS. When I press the WPS on the Adapt, then use Apple Airport Utility 6.3.6 to add a WPS printer, it gives me an "error of connection Adapt" and then shows me Adapt MAC address. I can't ever it connects. Any help?

Make sure that the name of the wireless network on your router AirPort is...

... In short no more than 20 characters in total

Simple... use only normal and numbers letters... and not special characters like an apostrophe, dollar sign, asterisk, etc.

Compact, without spaces in the name

For example, a wireless network network name as...

    addict3 Red Apple wireless network

Not going to have much chance to allow the HK unit to connect

    Try something ike

    addict3wireless

Make sure that you have assigned a distinct name to the 5 GHz network... but using the 2.4 GHz for HK device network. If it connects to the 2.4 GHz network, then you can try the 5 GHz network to see if it can connect to this higher frequency signal.

If still no luck, try to connect the device HK manually... not not using WPS
