• Photosmart C7180 printing problem

  So, here's a strange, my Photosmart C7180 age of 9 months has developed a bad habit to print all pages in landscape mode. I used the printer almost daily for 9 months, but 2 days ago I started to notice this weird quirk when printing multiple-page documents. I can't verify what may have triggered (this software or an OS update) because it is possible that I haven't printed documents several pages for a few weeks. I checked for the OS/App/Firmware updates and checked that I have the latest drivers and software. I restarted the two systems and reset the default settings for the printer.

  I can print a single page in Portrait mode, but if I have 3 pages print the 2nd page comes out in landscape. I can print the 2nd page individually and it is fine. It happens that I print from Microsoft Word, or even if you use the Microsoft Photo Editor or HP Photosmart software.

  I use the TCP/IP connection to print from my laptop Microsoft XP (even though I just checked that this happens when you use Bluetooth as well).

  > Printers and faxes

  > right-click your printer icon by default which is c7180

  > select Properties

  > click on Advanced tab in the Properties window

  > uncheck the box saying ACTIVATE a FEATURE of PRINTING ADVANCES

  > hit apply, then press ok.

  > then try to print your documents

  Assuming that you have installed the full function of the printer software, it is probably not the printer to blame.

  The browser you use to view the emails aren't always the settings you need (for example, Page Setup to adjust the size / width Fit).

  The browser or program may be missing parameters in order to translate something that the printer can understand the content.  Strange fonts or images in the content is a possible cause of printing email problems.

  Looked through menu manual and fax and impossible to find a way to get my story of fax.  Can anyone help with this?

  Hmm...  The manual is pretty useless in this regard, although page 80 indicates that it there is a fax history which could be printed.  I do not have a C7180 to try, but on my c309a, 2610 Photosmart and Officejet 7410 fax report is printed as follows:

  • Click setup
  • Scroll down to print reports and select
  • Highlight journal Fax and select

  I expect the similar C7180.

• Cannot run the Photosmart C7180 HP printing software

  Hi, I'm new here.

  I had been using the printer, and following a system failure and corruption of a couple of files, I had to download the operating system on the HP site.  When I tried to run the software, said that a more recent version is already installed on my system.  I deleted all HP components using the Add/Remove function on my control panel.

  The software still wouldn't go, indicating the same problem with a newer version,

  I have looke in the Program Files folder and found that the HP programs were not deleted and proceeded to delete them manually.  After the reboot, I still ran the files downloaded from HP and again received the same message on a newer version already on my system.

  I guess that somewhere there is a tag that should be deleted.  I am not a computer wizz so if anyone can suggest, where should I look?

  My system is a Win XP and is up to date, running on an Intel-based system.

  Well, good news.  I had the new program in place.  My problem was being too specific, trying to load one program for my C7180.  The solution was first to use the option to HP to check my system and to recommend and automatically download the appropriate program.

  He ended that there was a more recent software, which covered series printers Photosmart 7100 together.

  Found. Settings, scan settings, scan to... Configuration, settings button, buttons search for the solution Center, manage shortcuts scan... and then create new shortcuts in the folder of your choice!

  My C7180 All In One Wireless printer won't connect, I trouble shoot error code: 0x803C010B rises.

  This printer is 9 years old.

  Its been having problems printing as point by point when I copy it scans then prints point by point. However, when I printed a downloaded doc it would be normal printing. But now it won't connect to my laptop or my desktop Dell all-in-one wireless.

  The yellow cartridge has been replaced several times, and they contain green ink does not yellow.

  Thanks for being honest in describing what happened before the show.

  It's a hardware problem as the print head and the way by which the yellow ink will are damaged.

  I would recommend that you call the HP Technical Support.

  I don't know if the printer is under warranty, but then HP Technical Support could provide a better options for you in this situation.

• Poor print C7180

  Using a HP Photosmart C7180, connected wireless to an iMac with Intel Core 2 Duo 2.8 GHz and OS 10.5.8, processor I don't get good results when you print pictures of the iMac or a camera Olympus Stylus-7000 is directly connected to the printer. The photos seem to be underexposed, low contrast and contain a warmer shade compared to what you see on the screen of your iMac. The latter is a more faithful representation of the original scene.

  Nothing can do to remedy this situation? All the test printer documents seem to print correctly. I downloaded and installed the latest version of the software for the C7180. Finally, I use HP Advanced Photo paper, and the ink supply level is OK.

  Presets are weird.  You may be able to save your selections as a preset.  There seems to be some who are not afftected by presets however.  The best way to know is to put any way you want, save as preset.  Print with it.  Close it back up everything, open an another print job, select your presets and see what sticks.  I know, it's not a system perfect, sorry.

  Software TheOCr please with your units is ocr software of base that you get for free with the printer. This basic version will have trouble with writing indeed. To get full support for Handwrinint you need a professional version of the ocr software. However, they are quite expensive ussuly.

• C7180 will not scan

  I have a Photosmart C7180 all-in-One.  I am running Windows Vista.  I can't scan a photo or a document from my computer using the software of HP, but I am able to scan using Windows Vista software.  When I click on the HP solution and then Center click on scan a photo, an internal error message appears telling me to close the program and try 1) restart the program, or 2) restart the computer and try again or 3) reinstall the software photos & images and try again.  I tried all 3 suggestions and nothing solved the problem.  I also tried HP Print & Scan doctor.  I get an error that the program could not find any available destinations to which you can send scans.  He recommended to reinstall the software Photo & Imaging to restore the destination information.  The C7180 worked well for several years.  The problem started after the update my driver.    Please help me to solve my problem of scanning.  Thank you.

  The scrub of L4 is the specific version.  The downloaded driver also has this same section in the driver, but it is harder to do on the CD.  The pilot develops in the temp folder, in a folder that begins with 7z.

  You can access the temp folder by clicking on start and entering into the search line, %Temp%.

  Run the scrubber l4 from the downloaded driver.  Then go to c:\windows\program files and looking for HP or Hewlett Packard.

  HP computers no and if you have any other HP product installed, it's OK to delete the folder.  You can also go to the folder and look for a folder that is a long string of letters related to chance.  Delete this file and then try to reinstall again.

  You can go back in the temp folder and the 7z file and run the installer from there to reinstall.

• Photosmart C7180 on Windows 7 x 64: big problems

  My Photosmart C7180 faithful went to a near-useless state because I attach to my new desktop running Windows 7 x 64.  I am connected via a wired/usb connection cable. Some of these new antics include:

  • Said solution center it is disconnected when it is not
  • The scanner does not work
  • When I try to print a doc, I receive a partial copy of the doc, plus 5 or 6 sheets of paper with a few random characters, printed at the top.

  I've installed, uninstalled, and reinstalled the latest version of the software as downloaded from the website (v 13.1.0) far too many times.  This does nothing.

  I ran the HP print and scan doctor... the print side says that it works very well (it isn't). the analysis option fails on the driver record, saying that "the scanning driver is unable to communicate with the product.  I followed the instructions to unplug the printer, reconnect, restart the computer several times... even once, it does nothing.

  Anyone out there have any suggestions, other than to transport this thing to the recycling center?

  I would try possibly using another method of connection. Maybe it's the USB cord that is defective. If you have another cord try that, or you can try to set up the printer on your network using a wired Ethernet connection.

  Try this and tell me how it turns out that!
