C8180 All-in-one_Printheads

I noticed that the C8180 printheads do not seem to be replaceable by the user... HP lists the part numbers, but they are not available to order... Or they are also available on order anywhere... HP02 ink cartridges are everywhere but no head...

After using several HP printers with user print heads replaceable this concept is confusing... Especially knowing evils doors/connected/bands head issues in the past with these different models...

Y at - there something I'm missing or are these new style heads the Holy Grail of heads and never connect or have banding problems, etc...

Can anyone shed some light on this... TIA

MI-también

Yes, the printheads on the photosmart is not replaceable by the user. as far as I saw, the C8180 gives very less banding issues and last for a period of time before they show signs of damage. In fact, I've seen printers with print heads replaceable by the user FAR more problems that the fixed print heads as I am glad that there is a range of printers with non replaceable printheads by the user.

In the end, if well maintained and if you use genuine HP inks, more if you have a little luck on your side, this printer will be the best printer you've ever bought. This, together with the C7280 and the Photosmart premium C309a are among my favorite printers.

  • Can someone tell me why I lost all my accurate color between iPhoto and my C8180 All-in-one?

I was full of pictures from iPhoto printing yesterday and all of a sudden the color accuracy went in the toilet.

Everything is green and stupid.  It's terrible.  The strange part... it allows to print very well everywhere else.

This morning, I slipped a photo from iPhoto to the desktop and then print it from there.  Went well.

I lost something between iPhoto and my C8180 All-in-one printer.  I've never encountered this problem

front.  I tried all of the suggestions of the printer, but I'm sure that's not the problem.  The printer and

    iPhoto do communicate specifically.  Someone?

Thanks for the 2 responses I received.  Unfortunately, neither contributed to my problem.  The problem

was not with my version of OS X or the HP software that has been installed.  As I have explained, this set-up has been

works perfectly for the last 3-4 years.  With the help of my long-time friend and Mac user many, many

years, we determined that it was a corrupt iPhoto preferences file.  We have replaced the files preference and

It works perfectly again.  The problem had nothing to do the printer or it's software.  I am back

Try of the reset the printer as shown in this page.  Unfortunately, the error codes are not documented, if reseting the printer as described on this page is not enough you will probably need a new printer.

  • Incredible problems to get the new workgroup C8180 All-in-one

I bought a C8180 All-in-one printer to the end of September. When I plugged in and installed the software, everything seemed to function OK (I didn't test printing from the computer at the time), but after a short period of time to print Microsoft Word and Wordpad failed, started working and then failing again every time I reinstalled the software to try to solve the problem. Then began a long series of emails with HP technical support. In the next two weeks I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software 6 or 7 times in several different ways, under the instruction of HP. But he never could get Word and Wordpad works correctly. Finally, once again, under order of HP, he worked with a fake installation of HP Deskjet 990c printer. Then I noticed that it was more possible to digitize documents and slides to the computer, except by using a chip memory such as an intermediate storage. Then I went on vacation after spending about 30-40 hours two weeks previous emailing and calling the HP technical support.

Back from vacation in the third week of October, I took the issue once again with HP support. Yet once, I spent hours and hours writing emails and reinstalling the software but to no avail. HP finally proclaimed this a problem difficult and said that it would increase the level of support. A gentleman named Sylvester who sent someone would phone a day pre-arranged to see more advanced techniques could be applied to the problem. Needless to say that the phone call came not despite my cancelling several meetings to wait in it (I should have better that they had promised to phone back me several times before and has never done).

Finally, I called customer service to the local office of HP. (At least you can get to them without having to listen to the music for half an hour for the price of 5 p / minute.) They said that they would ensure someone would contact me and would monitor the call to ensure that happened. A week later I ' d has received no call, and I went to the local customer service. Has been raised to the top level of management, and finally, after a few reminders more than me, they managed to get a senior technician, called Natheem, in their technical service Cap to call me.

He has been very helpful (and actually phoned me several times), and finally he forced me to go through the complicated process of getting Microsoft in India (via a conference telephone with Cape Town and myself - apparently it would have cost me a lot in telephone charges, but I have not had the Bill) to give advice on how to spend my Windows XP with service pack 2 and my internet explore to IE6. I reinstalled the C8180 software once again. No difference, still the same problems, except that now, Microsoft Word would work with the HP C8180 printer driver.

At this point, Natheem said that it must be a hardware fault and arranged for the device must be replaced.

The new unit arrived last Thursday. I again carefully uninstalled and reinstalled the software, connected to the machine and got the same problems, but once again with Microsoft Word cannot print with the C8180 printer drivers.

I tried to contact Natheem again once in Cape Town this afternoon. After half an hour of expensive music additional I have with a person named Waleed who said that Natheem is on a call but he would get to call. No call came.

So on the forum, I would like advice on what to do with a new HP C8180 All-in-One printer which:

    1. not print Word documents (except by using a printer deskjet 990c driver)
    2. used to scanning documents or transparent to the computer
    3. will not print photos from the computer using HP photosmart essential, or other photo editing software

I'm also rather fed up of the assistance provided by HP. When you get through them they always try to help, but pass through, especially for someone who knows your case is more frustrating (and costs). In an attempt to get the thing, I also had to downgrade my computer Windows XP service pack 2 OS and my internet explore to IE6. I spent probably 50-60 + hours of the last two months, trying to get the thing work.

Any advice on what to do next would be welcome.

    Hi David,

Well, my story has a happy ending. I stopped trying to untangle the printer after a whole month of working hours, including a lot of phone calls to the SA and responidng to dozens of emails. But then I bought my wife a laptop Toshiba for Christmas - and it worked perfectly first time. In any case, my computer was in a bit of a mess especially when the messing around I had done on this to HP support, so I decided to reload my operating system (after reformatting hard disk), I just finished. And guess what the C8180 works perfectly (at least until now anyway)! I just updated my OS to SP2 (according to HP support the C8180 has problems with SP3), and I kept my Internet Explorer version 6 (higher versions - 7 I think - again can cause problems according to HP support). I somehow use Firefox. But now its work, its quite an impressive machine.

I want to say individual personnel in support of HP thin is always very friendly and helpful. It's just a phone, it costs and often listen to music for a long time, its very difficult to get hold of the same person again, if you spend hours to repeat the details of your problem, and despite vehement promises they call you rarely back - probably because they are too busy. His support system which is very poor, not the support staff.

In any case you have a different problem. If your printer does not work on computers with different operating systems. I would say that you have good arguments to either get a new printer or your money under the guarantee.

    Good luck

  • HP Photosmart C8180 All-in-One printer works is not on the desktop (Windows XP). Works on laptops.

HP Photosmart C8180 All-in-One printer has suddenly stopped working on my desktop (Windows XP). When I try to print, it just says: error and blocks the QC. I finally have to cancel and delete. It's as if the driver was uninstalled itself. I tried to reinstall with the original disc. However, it will not work and only says I have a newer version already installed on my computer. There are several products from HP on my add/REMOVE list. I tried to uninstall and reinstall. I hit the uninstall, it only flashes, but never uninstalls. Due to the fact that I had a previous HP printer on my computer before buying it, I thought that it can receive signals confused. How can I delete all Hp software and start again? BTW, this printer will work on all laptops in the House, who are also Windows XP.

Revo uninstaller allows you to uninstall the s/w

  • Photosmart C8180 All-in-one: not able to print colors light magenta and magenta

I bought photosmart c8180 about 3 years as a spare printer. I set up and printed a few pages. A printer was perfectly fine.  Last week, I decided to use this printer. When I tried to print, color photos are released totally foires.  I used the tools-alignment option and received a message that alignment was successful.  A printed page has rectangular bars at the end of the page and a magenta bar as well. He also printed two birds with some magenta color. For me, it's proof that the printer can use magenta colors. However, a self-test page came out without any of the magenta color. Under the color of the light magenta and magenta stars boxes were missing.

I look at the Forum and find out that some people had the same problem.  It dates back to the years of 2011. There are several experts HP answers to how to solve this particular problem.  However, even if it is from 2011 tread has been always open because these so-called 'experts' were not useful. I tried all - they do not help us.

I called technical support and representatives of hp told me that they cant't help me because this model is discontinued. They also surprised me a bit telling me to throw this printer.  If this is the best solution for this problem of ink for 8100 Series, then, please confirm as an expert. The thead element has been open since 2011 and I don't know that it's time to shut it down.

    Please, answer

    Hello

  • My HP Photosmart C8180 All-in-One Printer does not scan the black and white film strips or slides.

This problem occurred recently. Previously, the scanner accepted slides and strips of black and white film and scanned them without any problem. Since I've updated the OS on my iMac (I am currently using OS X 10.6.8), I contacted Applecare because I thought that it was possible that my current operating system might have some incompatibilities with the C8180. 'Expert' AppleCare then accompanied me by a uninstall/reinstall, but it has not solved the problem. AppleCare said then that the problem is no doubt HP hardware failure. I find it quite peculiar since the scanner otherwise Applecare analysis works and there is no problem with respect it print or copy.

    Hi, JAOC,.

Your C8180 can scan slides or films fixed on the memory card.  This will allow you to test the scanning equipment.

  • How to set up printing wireless Photosmart C8180 All-in-one printer.

My os is Windows 7 64 bit.

I want to make my printer wireless.  I had it connected to a USB port and after disconnecting I do not know what com to use.

The easiest way is to connect your printer to your router with an Ethernet cable.  If this is not possible, you can create a wireless connection to the router.  On the front of the printer: Setup > network > Wireless Setup Wizard.

Once the printer is connected to your network (wired or wireless, it is indifferent), go to start > Control Panel > printers and delete all instances of the printer.  Next:

    1. make sure the printer is on and connected to your network. Verify that you can access the printer's internal web page by accessing its IP address before continuing. Get the IP address of the printer on a wireless network Test page, printed on the menu of the network printer.
    2. click on > start > Control Panel > printers.
    3. click on add a printer
    4. Select local printer
    5. Select create a new port and select Standard TCP/IP Port, and click Next.
    6. under device type, select TCP/IP Device. Under the name of host or IP address, enter the IP address of the printer. Click Next.
    7. Select Hewlett-Packard in the list of manufacturers and select and select your printer model. Click Next.
If your printer model is not in the list, then select disk provided, browse the CD that came with your HP printer and select the first file begins with hp and ending with INF. click Open, then OK. Select your printer model. Click Next.
    8. If prompted, use the driver that is currently installed.
    9. He will ask the name of the printer - enter a new name or use the one existing. This will be the name of the printer that you select from other applications.
    10. we may ask you to share the printer. Choose No.
    11. the printing area of Test Page is displayed. Go ahead and print it out.
    12. click on finish.

  • HP Photosmart C8180 All-in-One

Just put in a new black cartridge (genunie HP cartridge), tried to print but it tells me that the black is empty and will only print black using the other colors. Help, please!

    Hello kaz151,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I see you try to get the C8180 read the new ink replacement, that you just installed. It might be possible that the ink is not sitting correctly in the printer and that he had not the chance to align the new cartridge.

For a guide, you can watch in this document: "Ink cartridges are empty" Error Message appears on the printer screen.

    I hope this suggestion helps,

We continue to receive a message that there is an ink system failure, Oxc19a0035 error. The message says to put off and then on again. It works, but after each print job, we get this same error message. Can anyone help?

    Hi again harky5464,

I see that you have always found errors on the printer.

If the diagnosis did not help to solve your problem, then I would say call the HP Technical Support to see all the other possibilities for you. If you call in North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, please click here: click here.
