C850-1 satellite kN - Windows 8.1 gel

Hello

I tried the search function but can't find the help I need.

My Satellite C850-1 kN (windows 8.1) was gel much recently, but I'm still able to use the pointer of the mouse, CTRL + ALT + DELETE has no effect and the computer does nothing, I have to close it by keeping my finger on the power button or remove the battery.

I ran SFC/scannow audited and receive the following: -.

"Protection of resources Windows finds corrupted files, but could not solve some of them... »

Please find the journal in next post

Sometimes the screen stays black and not answering all the entries also, this seems to happen more. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

The Windows Event Viewer shows 2 critical failures at the time of the last, that are kernel-power and want to not shut down cleanly (obviously because I keep my finger on the button).

There are a few 'mistakes' in the newspaper, the most surprising of which is the application of Microsoft Bing News who registered just before the incident, this could be the cause of the problem?

Thanks in advance

Your laptop comes with Win8 so I guess that you have updated to version Win8.1.
You have successfully updated following your machine Toshiba instructions?

To be honest, it is not easy to answer these questions and to say with certainty what the problem is.

If you have this problem for a few days only I recommend you roll back OS to an earlier time using System Restore tool just to see if the problem persists or not.
How to do that you can read on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB2A03ES0000R01.htm

Do as a first step please and post comments.

By the way: you created recovery disc before you installed the update from Win8.1?

If you have an original Win XP disk then you could start using this disc. The installation of Win XP supports a repair option that start you press the R key (when windows asks to press R).

  • Satellite L755 - Windows 7 loads OK but IE9 takes 15 minutes

    I have a L755 Satellite with Windows 7, IE 9 and Office Home 2010.
When I boot windows 7 seems to load OK, the main problem is that IE9 takes an another 15mins to start after you click the icon.

During this period of 15 minutes, I can use some programs such as word in a simple way, but if I try make a backup as it freezes. After 15 minutes, everything seems to work fine with the exception of the start menu which does not save the last used progs or I would like to highlight anything despite a reset.

Any advice someone before I re - install Windows that I don't really want to do.

You should see if ie9 starts ok if no add ons are loaded. Pull the top of the window "Run" by pressing the key "Windows" + R and entering this C:\Program may Explorer\iexplore.exe [-extoff]. If it loads ok and then click the IE Tools menu select Manage Add ons and see what you can disable if IE loaded slowly then I would uninstall it.

I just searched to see if mail could be the problem and found this site that understands what I said and more [http://www.enhanceie.com/ie/troubleshoot.asp]

  • You think it's wise to upgrade my Satellite to windows 7

    Hey guys good night.

I'm curious to know. All do you think it is wise to upgrade my computer satellite phone to windows 7.

If so, I would be able to install the utility programs ecopackage and pvat so I can use once more my eco utility and pc health monitor features.

I'm considering upgrading, not otherwise expensive and I was told that the laptop runs much more smooth especially since it is a year old and probably played virus he part.

Also, or is - anyone know of any problem seems to have been experienced with the upgrade of the satellite series windows 7 (want to do a clean update).

    Hello

In my opinion the Windows 7 is the best OS that has been released by Microsoft.
Of course it takes more material resources as the beginning of Win XP (which was really good), but the fact is that Win 7 is the future and all other systems are past.
I would recommend Win 7. I changed my two notebooks to Win 7 and everything works great.

The VAP and ECO utility are released for many Toshiba laptops, so if your laptop series wouldn't not contains such tools, I recommend checking out the tools available for other series.

  • Satellite L300 Windows 7 64-bit loads very slowly

    Hi all

I recently bought a new Toshiba L300 and am very disappointed by his performance of loading.
Since when I log on windows right up until everything has finished loading (once that the side bar loaded with the clock) can take anything between 2-3 minutes!

I can't believe it's a portable very high specification. I have a desktop computer with half of the specification that will load in a few seconds!

    Everyone knows this or similar?
It doesn't seem to be a bit of software from toshiba that loads with windows like facial recognition, recall, etc. Health Center software.
Sew this be the problem? Surely it can't be slow down the loading process that can do a lot there.
Have thought to uninstall, I don't want to lose if this isn't the problem.

I ran the antivirus software and malware, even if my laptop is only a few weeks old, but alas no wer infections not found. My system spec is as follows:-

    Toshiba Satellite L300
    Windows 7 5.7 footnote reference
    Processor: Intel (r) Core (TM) 2 Duo CPU P7450 @2. 13 GHz
    4.00 GB RAM
    1 GB graphic Gforce
64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium operating system

I really hope someone can help before I go out my hair with this

    weired problem...

    Any help much appreciated.

    > I can't believe it's a portable very high specification. I have a desktop computer with half of the specification that will load in a few seconds!

And? Your desktop PC running Win 7 with all the features and applications like this laptop?
    I doubt!

    > It seems to be a bit of software from toshiba that loads with windows like facial recognition, recall, etc. Health Center software.
    > Could this be the problem?

Of course, the background process can affect startup performance and it is mainly the reason why it takes a little longer
First of all a media laptop most of the functions as a desktop PC.
Control buttons, FN keys, facial recognition, recall, etc. all this loading software health center software at the beginning! If you n t need this software can turn this off in msconfig-> Startup tab

Also an antivurs software can affect and increase startup time
I went from Symantec Avira antivir. Its free and don't have a lot of material resources

  • Satellite C850-1NU - update of Windows 8 is suspended

    Hi all

I'm pretty useless with computers so would like some advice.

    Yesterday, I bought a Toshiba C850-1NU.
Tonight I tried to run windows updates.

The laptop now reads as follows:
    "Configuration of Windows features.
    15% of full
Do not turn off your computer.

He read this message for 40 minutes. After that I turned off manually the laptop using the off button. To turn it on again, it began the process of updating at 0% and is now suspended at 15%.

What we could do about it?

    Thank you very much

  • Satellite C850 - 1 9 8 Windows recovery disc language NH

    Hello

C850 my gran has a dead hard drive, and she did not Windows 8 recovery disks.
I am pleased to order them directly from Toshiba, but when I do the single lagnuage option is NH.

NH, what exactly? I need them in English.

    Any ideas?

    KeV

I don't very well what means NH but the laptop came out with the preinstalled version of English Win 8 and I guess that the recovery disc m would also contain the English system.

Have you tried the recovery disk? What is the language of the system?

  • Satellite C850 - 1 M 7 - Windows 8 suspended at startup (even on a CD)

    I have a C850 - 1 M 7 which has a curious problem.

Fortunately, he did run Windows 8 Pro for six months without any problem.
Now it does not start in Windows, beautifying the swirly points logo.
Among the courses of action to resolve them and diagnose are:

Windows 8 boot CD (or Windows 7): always hangs at the Windows logo
Format the HARD drive and reimage: reimagee player crashes
Starting in Windows PE: also blocks
Boot from another HARD drive: crashes
Boot in non-windows environment: works great!

We had more than 100 of these laptops which had BIOS published to CSM MBR/boot disk format of imagery of mass, so there is no recovery partition.

Any help to stop from going grey (er) or bald (as an Eagle) would be appreciated!

You have disabled startup secure in the BIOS?
Next to the CSM mode you must disable secure boot at startup from sources other than HDD

  • Satellite Pro C850-1EQ - 8 tiles Windows does not work

    Hello

I'm desperate for help try to solve this problem with my laptop. When I got my laptop (at Christmas) the majority of the tiles on the home screen windows 8 worked, however after a week or two they have gradually stopped working, which is very frustrating.

When I click on a tile, it opens on the screen but the wheel continues to turn and nothing loads. I spoke to Microsoft online, however, they said that the problem with Toshiba as the laptop was purchased with Windows 8 already integrated.

Suggestions, they did involving anti-virus and updates did not work.
The most frustrating part is the Windows tile store does not work so I can't try to updates or new downloads to see if they will not solve the problem.

Of course, I can use my laptop without the tiles, but I'm upset that I paid extra for Windows 8 and chooses the best part of it not working!

Any advice on what to do next would be great, thanks in advance.

Guess what? Try to restore the system Windows 8 back to the factory settings.
Here you will find documentation how to do this:

    [Windows 8 recovery & repair | http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB2A03ES0000R01.htm]

I recommend using the option * reset your PC *.

+ This option "Reset your PC" is useful when a PC is changed hands, or when you want to get a completely fresh start on a PC, without previous files of the selected configuration. +
+ The delete all, then reinstall Windows option permanently removes your personal files and the PC applications and returns 8 Windows to its original state. That the State of origin is a clean install of Windows 8, nor the default configuration of OEM factory, depending on the medium used for the operation. +
