Caddy SATA for T60?

Simple question for you guys. I want to replace the original HD in my T60 with a larger HD SATA. Can I use the carrier old HD, or what I need to get one that is specially designed for a SATA HD?

Thank you very much in advance for the info.

The same carrier will work fine.

  • Driver Windows 7 for T60 (p) support

    Hi all

Im a happy owner of a Thinkpad T60P, model 2007-8LG. However, im getting a lot tired of Windows XP and that you want to use the next operating system Windows 7, but I'm a little hesitant, if there is a driver update for the T60 models.

I saw drivers beta Windows 7 from Lenovo page, but this includes only T61 drivers and more. Can someone confirm that there will be released for T60 (p) models of drivers as well (or in the case where the product line is dropped).

    Thanks in advance

    Night,

I have a T60p (8744-J2U) with Windows 7 (Build 7229) runing very very happy. I have 4 GB installed. All of the major engines, you need have been released and should work properly on your system.

If you want a super clean installation, refer to my post on the peripheral Driver Installation order thread.

In addition, if you want a laptop really stable, DO NOT SKIP. Back up your system and your data, CHECK IT, then delete the partitions during installation and let Windows 7 partition and format the drive.

  • Z240 SFF (V1Z87PA): Z240 SFF - caddy/insert for disk 3,5 '' HARD in

Hi, I am wanting to install 2 x 3.5 "hard drives in my new Z240 SFF workstation.

There is a Bay that already came with an insert and one of the new disks slots in this very well.

"However she looks like some sort of insertion/caddy is necessary for the Bay external/internal' shared 3.5" ", because it is too big for the Hello.adb of the player to crack. It seems that this Bay is dimensioned for a kind of optical discs.

I called HP and their parts of people here in Australia, but no one can find the part needed.

    Can you please help?

HP use guides drive insulation elastomer for the sliding of the hard disks in slots in SFF desktop for some time, and adding these for the screw holes of 4 threaded area of a disk HARD caused the need for the metal, as they slide is wider than a 3.5 "drive by almost exactly 1/2 inch when you consider both sides.  If you go on eBay and look for 450712-001, you'll see a bunch of these.  Form factor 3.5 "hard drives still use #6-32 (coarse thread) UNC screws, and it is this than screw silver and blue, rubber vibration insulators are at HP.

Hard drives 2.5 "SSD and optical drives use metric threaded screws M3 instead and HP Color screws for black ones.  Those who are much more difficult to find... Note the more fine metric thread that you can see at the bottom a:

There is a HP kit that I fell that appears to fit your form factor 3.5 "/ exit Bay that is equipped with a receiver that accepts the scrolling images we can screw a 2.5 form factor" SATA HDD or SSD in.  This can be a great way to create backups to disable storage on site, or just to have removable storage.  I use Icy Dock a device like this, and HP has used the Icy Dock products too.  That's what I use, and it fits perfectly into the HP 3.5 "form factor disk Bay on the former positions of work and also fits the 5 HP, 25 - to-3, 5" form factor converters for the new HP workstations... HERE.

http://www.ICYDOCK.com/goods.php?id=162 I guess you would still need 4 of these arrangements of cursor to do, too.  However, you can only really one large HARD drive storage there hidden behind the front plastic.

Included with your Z240 SFF it may be #6-32 spare isolation player guides screwed into the metal frame hidden under the Panel front of the work station... HP stored spare parts there are other SFF workstations.  Take a peek...

  • Long shot - driver SATA for Pavilion 15-n048ca

    Hello

Here's a question long shot re drivers.

I recently bought a HP Pavilion 15-n048ca that came with 8 Win. I have a material more elder who has no new drivers for this OS. And win 8 does not come with an XP as Win 7 compatibility mode.

So I try to install XP Pro in another partition on the same system (multiboot).

(Yes, I know that XP is about to be "end-of-life" and will not get updates in the future, etc, etc, etc. - been thru all this.) Where my rush to try to get a stable installation before the 8 Apr.)

As you probably know, XP does not know about the AHCI SATA drivers (even though I think that if I had bought an XP with SP3 installation disc, it could have on it, but still not be compatible with my h/w). But my original XP disk doesn't know anything about. And the BIOS is not an option to change the HARD drive in the UEFI IDE compatibility mode, but it does not allow the boot Legacy mode - very limited.

I can create a new "slipstreaming" of the OS installation disc, the SP3 and the new drivers - if I can find something suitable.

    The AMD hardware ID are:

    PCI\\VEN_1022 & DEV7804 & SUBSYS_216B103C & REV_00

    PCI\\VEN_1022 & DEV7804 & SUBSYS_216B103C

    PCI\\VEN_1022 & DEV7804 & CC_010601

    PCI\\VEN_1022 & DEV7804 & CC_0106

I know there is no XP drivers for this hardware. But AMD has in common in a generation (or two) of material, which CAN (and it's a pretty big "IF") allow the use of another pilot, because there's a version of XP.

Is there something that can work for this system?

CPU_Z reports of material such as:

    CPU/APU: A8 - 5545M with Radeon HD 8510 G graphics card

    Motherboard HP: 216 b

Chipset: AMD K15 BMI Rev 00

    Southbridge: AMD A55/A60M Rev 11

I know that another option is to create a virtual machine and install XP it contains. I do not know the h/s that I want to connect will work, but I'll also give that a try using VirtualBox.

I'd appreciate any help you can provide.

    see you soon

    Any type of CPU is the computer, which is used to create the XP SP3 slipstreamed CD. With the help of nLite, all you have to do is;

    (1) make an ISO of Windows XP CD and place it on the desktop.

    (2) download Windows XP SP3.

    (3) download and extract the AMD SATA / RAID drivers according to the instructions of Daniel.

    (4) run nLite and integrate the SP3 and AMD drivers.

    (5) create the new ISO.

    (6) burn the new CD of Windows XP SP3.

Based on Windows and GPT FAQ, it is unlikely that XP will be installed on a GPT disk. Most likely, you will need to partition the drive in the MBR before installing XP. This means that you must also reinstall Windows 8, but you will not be able to use the support of HP recovery, you have created.

    Microsoft requires the leading manufacturers quantify and integrate the product key Windows 8 in the BIOS/CMOS. It's called a digital product key (DPK). You can try this download of Windows 8 OEM;

    http://www.Google.com/URL?SA=t & RCT = j & q = en_windows_8_x64_dvd_915440.ISO & source = Web & CD = 1 & CAD = AJLN SQI = 2...

It is a copy of Windows 8 OEM officially licensed and will also install Windows 8 Pro OEM. Download this file, burn it to a DVD, the start of this drive and install Windows 8. It should register as an official copy and use the key embedded in the BIOS.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

  • Driver XP SATA for Satellite Pro L300 PSLB9E

Hi all I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro L300 PSLB9E and I am trying to downgrade from Vista to XP. I have the sata AHCI controller mode, I looked for this drivers on the toshiba site and the site of intel, but none of these work when installing xp and pressing f6 when you use a usb floppy drive. Any ideas?

    Hello

If you have set the compatible SATA mode in the BIOS, then you n t need to install all the drivers SATA!
Compatibility mode allows you to run the HARD drive without SATA drivers.

But if you want to use the HDD in SATA mode, then you will set back to AHCI.
In this case the SATA drivers must be installed in order to use the HDD in SATA mode.

The laptop seems to be equipped with the AMD CPU and so you need a SATA chipset AMD driver. That are in the package of graphics (record SBDrv/SATA") driver

After reading almost all threads talking about it, I know that I need a driver for my chipset, but Satellite PRO L300 PSLB9E what controller use exactly?

You need to install the SATA drivers before you install Windows. If you have two options:

1 copy the drivers on a floppy disk. After that, you start from the Windows CD and press F6 to load drivers.

2 do. you a new installation with nLite disc. Search forum, there is a lot of discussion on this topic.

If you have problems to do this, ask here in the forum. ;)

  • Satellite A300D-15B - SATA for XP drivers does not work

Can someone tell me where to find the SATA XP driver for my A300D-15B? I tried the files that are part of the whole of the display:
    Txtsetup.OEM
    SiWinAcc.sys
    SilSupp.cpl
    SiiSupp.vxd
    Si3112.sys
    Si3112.mpd
    SI3112.inf

But the hard drive was not detected during the installation of XP. I tried nlite and also using the standard XP + loading the drivers installation - neither worked.

I now use the compatibility mode and the laptop works very well, but performance gain would be nice. If I am able to find the right driver, it is possible to change to SATA without completely reinstalling XP?

    Hello!

Normally, it should be the Si3112.sys file.
However, you are right with the package display. It contains the SATA drivers.

Normally, it should work so in your case I launch the installation of XP and load the drivers with external floppy F6.

And before you can use the SATA drivers, you must set the mode AHCI in the BIOS is not compatible.

    Good bye
